Looks like actual defensive capabilities.
Can is someone who is going to need to be taught them but can we wait that long and risk anything happening to lucas ie injury or leaving.
Can still plays so I don't see the problem.

It only makes sense in a couple of scenarios,
1/ sterling leaves coutinho operates on the left and kovacic in the centre
2/ coutinho leaves and he takes his position
3/ Henderson leaves and he takes his position!

I agree with you maxi96! He could be useful in terms of rotating our midfield if we have for example a Europa league game in Russia 3 days before and Coutinho needs a rest, we can just bring him in to the team! Simples!

Sterling and Coutinho played almost every game. I'd say he's much needed. Reminds me of quicker Veratti. Good passer of the ball, great control, very creative, quick. Would be a massive upgrade om Allen.

Yeah daredman but aymt the prices being quoted, I mean can he really spend 10/15/20 million for rotation when you could as easily have 2 teams already now.

And that'd stupid rotation, a lot of players can do two in a week (hendo for example)
Kovacic make sense if sterling goes and he has Marko, ibe, coutinho, lallana rotating on the wings and kovacic through the middle or alongside hendo, but were does that leave can, Lucas etc
I think if he comes sterling will go, just dint see the two being in the sane team come September 1st.

ed he is not that lightweight. he is one of the best young players in world and seems lost at inter because of situation they are in. he is a real classy midfielder. we don have midfielder like him who can carry the ball. if allen is sold and kovacic bought that is best buisness.
{Ed001's Note - we have plenty who can carry the ball, they are just not allowed to in the system we play. Yes he is a very good young player, but we have lots of them already, so it is a silly buy. We need to strengthen where we are weakest first, not where we are strongest.}

Well maxi96, you never know how he could turn out. Could be another Coutinho you just never know! But the thing with this lad is he has bags of potential and one day he would be a vital member of our team(providing we don't ruin this lads career). I just don't know what to think about he is a replacement for Sterling or not. I don't think he is though.
It's key to keep players fresh so rotating the squad is key to success this season!
Can could well be played in defense again unfortunately which I think would stunt his growth as a player massively!

Agree with Ed - don't know why we aren't fixing the FB and Striker issues first - would rather have another 21mln in the pocket to potentially pay up if something special comes up than be constrained because we bought another midfielder we can't use.only exception would be if they already have a buyer for Allen lined up so doesn't cost much money to upgrade.

Ed001 on the occasions (not many) I've seen him he has looked really good and a better option than Pjanic. I would prefer us to get a top holding midfielder with the money we would spend on him however unless Emre Can and Lucas play that position next season

It's just not what is needed at this time, if Allen went then yes potentially but Brendan stays then I think Allen does asWell.
But anything over 10 mil with out budget has to have a plan in the first team, if we want rotation then Brannigan is there for that! Both dame age, both good players and one is free and already signed!
But if he is for the first team then super! If there's a plan for someone to leave. Even bette!

BR collects midfeilders like a lady collects shoes. Kovacic might be a good player BUT he is NOT needed unless some players leave. We have bigger fish to fry yet he is making the same mistakes that almost got him the sack by buying players we don`t need instead of strengthening where we are weakest. FSG have messed up by keeping him because he won`t change and we are seeing that in the TW already.
