Anyone know what the deal was for Ings? I heard today it's a loan and they'll buy him next summer. If that's the case could we take him back? ( I do know it's unlikely but just wondering if it'd be possible) . Just thinking if he bangs in 40 for Southampton this season it'd be nice to have the option.

OP, why would we want him back? Ings is playing football now and that is what we all wish for him. Unfortunately, his time at LFC is long gone and I am chuffed to bits that he is back to playing and scoring again cos he thoroughly deserves that. We are a better team than the one he was thriving in before his injury 3 years ago and we should move on from him. Ings definitely has.

What's wrong with Danny Ward? I'm from up Aberdeen way and saw him a few times on loan for the Dons. He was confident and solid. Granted it's not the same quality of opponent but with that as an argument you need to question the purpose of the loan.

I like him. He’s a good keeper who should have been given some games, I’d rather we gave him a go than wasting money on the likes of Butland, Navas or Cillessen.
{Ed002's Note - Any career Ward had has been screwed up by Klopp. He certainly has no future at Liverpool.}

Hopefully Ward can go on and have a successful career elsewhere at his level.

Sadly I agree with ed02, he did well on loan and should have been allowed to go back out on loan to develop further playing competitive football.
I would not begrudge him seeking pastures new because he is certainly not a bad keeper.

Hey Tom, up the dons! People talk about the level of football but I don't see that it makes that much of a difference for a keeper. A shot is a shot and it must even itself out. Good defence, good attacker, poor defence, poor attack.
There must be a reason why ward has not broken into liverpool. He has 2 average keepers in front of him. If you can't displace mignolet then you need to try harder. Maybe he ain't that good.
