Morning Eds,
Is there any update on these squad players linked with moves away please?
Kelleher
Doak
Morton
Nunez
Jota
Tsimikas
Quansah
Gomez
Konate
Elliot
Chiesa
I'm sure some may stay but overall it seems like we could generate a great deal from player sales this summer.
{Ed001's Note - apparently Leeds want Tsimikas, other than that nothing. But it is early, the window is not even open yet nor has the season finished.}
1.) 19 May 2025 14:50:54
ed001, are you suprised cunha is going to united for such a small fee? . i don't get why arsenal, chelsea, city or even us haven't offered to pay the small release clause? . he's a top player and improves any of the big sides, yet he's going to a team worse than wolves! .
{Ed001's Note - his agent might be a problem.}
2.) 19 May 2025 15:34:17
I've heard today Kelleher is expected to replace Emi Martinez at Villa.
3.) 19 May 2025 15:52:24
Have you really heard that? Or are you working on some sort of logic seeing Martinez waving/ clapping at the fans for the last time as a commentator suggested?
It would be a good move for Kelleher though.
Hope you are right.
4.) 19 May 2025 15:12:08
Just want to follow up with Ed on some of the specific rumours here. Is there anything to any of these? Or any you can debunk?
Kelleher has been linked to Leeds and Aston Villa for 25mil
Doak - Bournemouth, Everton and Palace - up to 30 mil
Nunez - several Saudi clubs, and Napoli stepping up their interest in him due to Jonathan David's wage demands being too high
Tsimikas - linked to Leeds for 15 mil
Quansah - apparently admired by Newcastle and Crystal Palace along with several German clubs. Liverpool could be open to a loan
Elliot - Wolves most recent link, but Newcastle, Bournemouth, Palace and several German clubs also mooted as potential destinations. Club apparently holding out for 50 mil.
Have seen rumours (Read: Conspiracy theories) that Leverkusen could be open to taking Elliot and Quansah to replace Wirtz and Tah, and Liverpool could accept cut-price deals to slash the Wirtz fee.
Chiesa - linked with several Italian clubs such as Napoli and Milan, but his agent came out to deny reports of a deal to Napoli being close. Slot's comments in the presser seemed to indicate Chiesa could still have a future at Liverpool, but could well be a smokescreen, as Slot or the club openly admitting that we don't want him would severely harm any negotiations for a fee. Looks more than likely he returns to Italy.
{Ed001's Note - 1. Both are interested and looking to sign a new keeper.
2. It was close in January to him moving on, he is still likely to move in the summer.
3. Looks like Napoli right now, though they can be very difficult.
4. Yes, looks like it might well be happening.
5. Bit of interest, we are looking to replace him and Gomez.
6. He does not want to leave.
7. I expect Chiesa to stay.}
5.) 19 May 2025 15:51:17
Ed01 We want transfers before the window opens or season finishes haha.
6.) 19 May 2025 16:21:38
I live in Birmingham mate and my friends are all villains, they're convinced he's already agreed personal terms but they could be waffling I don't know. I agree and hope it is true though he deserves a top club.
30 Apr 2025 07:53:14
Ed001, can I get your opinion on Joao Pedro from Brighton as a target for us please?
I know his goal tally isn't spectacular yet but he is still only young and he is a lot more familiar to the english game than some of the other linked names. He reminds me a lot of Bobby, dropping deep bringing wingers into play and can beat a player with skill instead of pace which is rare trait.
Similar to Cunha as a false 9 who is probably currently better but I think his ceiling is much higher.
Do you know how attainable he would be from Brighton?
1.) 30 Apr 2025 08:14:04
Brighton don't enter the chat unless the numbers are ridiculous. My one concern with Cunha is that he walks around for most of the game. How would that sit with other players?
Pedro is a grafter but may cost 40m more.
2.) 30 Apr 2025 08:49:58
To be fair we don't know what cunha's ceiling can be in a better team either, he is already frighteningly tenacious and deadly with wolves. Plus he would be close to half the price of Pedro, so really it's a complete no brainer.
We don't yet know what kind of a 9 slot wants though, whether he wants somebody to offer presence in the box to score against low blocks, or somebody to link up play between the lines. Unicorns like isak can do both, which is why he would cost so much. I would guess that whoever we buy up top they do need to offer something in the box given our tendency to spam crosses to nobody when we are facing an immovable low block.
3.) 30 Apr 2025 09:57:57
Pedro has a terrible attitude - and absolutely fine footballer (not a nine and not a ten) but he’s a liability which is proven over and over.
Leave the hiring of bad personalities to United.
4.) 30 Apr 2025 11:13:09
PatrikBurgher- Elliott, Nunez, Jota and Chiesa = Isak, but can we afford to loose 4 players to get one?
5.) 30 Apr 2025 12:01:47
Pedro has got nothing on Cunha imo. Not good enough for a top team.
6.) 30 Apr 2025 12:12:22
Osimhen back in the frame at 64m.
Could he be one of the 2 replacements for Nunez/ Jota?
7.) 30 Apr 2025 12:30:38
Osimhen is more attainable than isak, although id prefer the latter, and he’s better than sesko so I woudlnt be adverse to taking the punt. Both my mo eh at the end of the day and he’ll be more eff twice than what we currently have.
8.) 30 Apr 2025 12:41:10
Osimhen is currently on 200k a week basic wage (not Inc bonuses) and was looking to get closer to 300k on his next contract. There have also been complaints from Napoli coaching staff about his attitude in training though it's hard to know if that due to the stand off between Napoli and osimhen.
I'm also not really convinced by him. He's not very clinical and often needs 5 chances to score 1. He's all pace and no finesse for me. I think whoever signs him will feel short-changed by what they get.
9.) 30 Apr 2025 14:31:54
Reports going around that we were actually very close to signing osimhen in January, and that some kind of hitch with payments from Napoli to osimhen halted the deal, causing us to pull the plug on letting nunez go to Saudi arabia. Macca said as much before, so maybe there is some truth to it? I have no idea really.
10.) 30 Apr 2025 15:37:01
I posted 2 or 3 months ago when i saw links to him that he is average and i don't rate him what so ever, very slow, very turgid in position, not very skillful, very average finisher and 60%+ of his goals have been penalties. Damn, i sound like viktor right now.
11.) 30 Apr 2025 16:26:36
Ed002 (rest his soul) confirmed that Osimhen wanted £400k to go to Chelsea, a team he purportedly supported as a kid, he was happy to throw away a year of his career over that in a farmers league over those obscene demands, then there’s his falling out with coaches which he has a habit of doing. Bloke strikes me as a bit of a dickhead. As for Jaoa Pedro, he seems like half the footballer that Cunha is for double the price, as Tony Bloom does like rinsing buyers when there’s no buyout clause, Pedro is nowhere near good enough for us, 5 goals in open play this season is p. poor for a forward, we’d be binning off one misfiring South American for another.
12.) 30 Apr 2025 16:47:32
Reports? Don’t know why anyone believes reports they’re all clickbait.
Reality is nobody, bar maybe the Saudis would pay him 300k a week so his demands will naturally have to come down. And as mentioned previously it’s not my money ?♂️.
13.) 30 Apr 2025 16:54:06
Just go and get plain old Liam Delap for 30 million, who has outscored both of our strikers in a relegated team. No brainer. We might even get some free "long throw' training from his dad thrown in.
14.) 30 Apr 2025 17:17:21
Of the rumours I’ll say
Isak, Alvarez, Osimhen, Cunha, Delap
In that order. Personally think we should be aiming for the first two if any. I’m not massively sold on the other 3. Good players but we should be aiming for the best if possible.
15.) 30 Apr 2025 18:49:19
Is the scouting of a cf the most difficult job in football? Since Suarez and Sturridge (who pushed to bring them in? ), we haven’t signed a successful cf. Bobby was an attacking midfielder; Salah, Gakpo and Mane wingers.
And apart from the Sturridge, Suarez, Torres blitz have we made a successful cf signing since Aldrich? Cisse, Nunez, Benteke, Morientes, Keane, Collymore, Saunders, Carroll all looked great - but less so with us.
Feels to me that banking down on anything but a proven cf rarely works.
16.) 30 Apr 2025 19:12:39
It's hard to know what slot wants in his CF, as he's just used the options he's had available. The fact that he's used Jota and Diaz indicates he's looking for someone who perhaps plays a bit deeper, can run at defenders, but also with the pace to keep up with counter attacks, and a keen presser. Of all mentioned targets, Cunha probably fits that description best, but I wouldn't be surprised to see someone not mentioned so far come in.
17.) 30 Apr 2025 20:38:49
Well Slot said he wants his nine to score goals. He’s been pretty emphatic.
If you could guarantee Jota was available for 30 PL games he’d take that. He won’t be.
18.) 01 May 2025 00:09:28
Isak, way too expensive, simply not going to happen as Newcastle won’t want to sell if they’re in the champions league.
Alvarez, literally on record as saying he’s done with England, also, missus hated it here.
Osimhen, stupid wage demands, bit of a knobhead, his wages will make most suitors walk away. Particularly us.
Cunha, apparently is likely to go to United according to popular rumour.
Delap, buyout clause makes it attractive but apparently Chelsea have been sniffing around for months and he’s keen to join them. That 7 year contract coin is all the rage…
What odds we sell Nunez and don’t replace?
19.) 01 May 2025 01:52:37
I too think those reports would be clickbait if macca wasn't on here saying it was going to happen.
Viktor, I would say the odds are zero. Our track record proves that when we want somebody we go and get them, so not sure why you would think otherwise.
20.) 01 May 2025 03:26:35
I don't think Isak, Alvarez, or Osimhen would be coming to us. But I say we have a good chance of Cunha or Delap. For all the talk of Cunha preferring to go to United or United in "advance talks" with him and being in the "final stages" of negotiation, things have been very quiet on that front.
21.) 01 May 2025 09:59:23
So, you don’t think we’ll sign a Centre Forward then @VV? Watch out for my reminder post in August. You have no idea who the club want or how much they are willing to pay for the player they want.
22.) 01 May 2025 12:59:52
FAN FROM MALAWI I THINK ISAK or CUNHA CAN HELP US.
23.) 01 May 2025 14:14:40
We will sign a cf but I doubt it will be any named above.
24.) 01 May 2025 15:13:28
I think it might be Ekitike.
There is a lot of talk of Cunha to Man U being virtually complete. Apparently he found the battle for PL survival so exciting that he wants to go through it again next season.
25.) 01 May 2025 16:15:49
I'll give you even money, Vik.
26.) 01 May 2025 19:05:58
What’s odd would you give on Liverpool winning the League this season Viktor?
27.) 02 May 2025 08:37:12
Charles De Ketelaere is having a good season! Versatile, often plays CF.

Morning All,
Just watched the redmen's deep dive on youtube regarding possible replacements for Trent, the channel overall is worth a watch for those interested in everything Liverpool. In it they went through the possible names (Porro, Vanderson, Frimpong, etc) on the market along with their FP Ref stats and traits but personally none really struck me as worth the investment to be second choice to Bradley who I think deserves his chance, especially when the other positions in the squad require more concern.
Eds, i've haven't watched him of late but could Calvin Ramsey still be an option for us to be deputy to Bradley at right back or has the injuries just taken their toll now and likely no way back for him ?
{Ed001's Note - it is not just injuries, he simply isn't good enough. It was a mistake to buy him. Bradley was always a better player.}
1.) 08 May 2025 09:53:59
De bruyne. Stick him at right back. Exact same ?.
2.) 08 May 2025 10:52:03
Give Bradley the RB shirt, let him prove his fitness and availability, and bring Martim Fernandes from Porto in as a project signing to cover and challenge him.
We know that Joe Gomez, assuming he stays, can cover in an emergency.
3.) 08 May 2025 10:59:43
I dunno about playing him at right back but I'm warming to the idea of buying frimpong for the advertised price of 35 mill, he is surely worth at least 50, is supposedly a Liverpool fan, gets on well with other Dutch members of the team, in terms of value and an 'opportunistic signing' he very much feels like a player we would buy, even though he is much more of a right winger and even playing right back for Leverkusen he doesn't have the same defensive responsibilities as we would for us.
4.) 08 May 2025 10:19:15
Thanks Ed001,
How do you see the Slot's tactics changing next year when he's able to bring in his own players? Reviewing the possible targets everyone mentions for the full back positions, I don't think that Slots wants attacking full backs. I think he would want a similar system to Arsenal and City at the back and have CBs that can play full back who are comfortable inverting into midfield when needed which in our case could be the likes of Hato, Hincapie, Guehi and Araujo rather than the all out attacking overlapping full backs such as Kerkez, Frimpong.
I could be wrong, you know better than me and who the clubs interested in which would likely tell us Slots preferred tactical set up.
{Ed001's Note - he does like the more flexible type of player, it gives him more options, particularly to change things up if it is not going well. With Kerkez, he is very comfortable on the ball and may well be seen as capable of playing a different way.
What Slot wants is more control of the play, not necessarily by possession only though, but also by keeping the opposition in areas they want them to play in. In a lot of ways, the thinking is similar to Klopp, who wanted to dominate and smother opponents with a team of players capable of adapting to the situation. The main difference, other than intensity of play (which is a huge difference), is that Klopp liked his players to be able to figure out what was needed for themselves. He wanted them to find the gaps to attack and close the gaps the opposition were attacking without him needing to tell them everything. Slot wants them to be able to adapt, but he wants to be the one changing it and telling them what to do.}
5.) 08 May 2025 12:03:39
I agree FlyPelicanFly re: Bradley. Let him have the shirt and the chance to be the starter cos after all, he has earned the opportunity, IMO.
As for the cover, we can always get a Frimpong esp. since he can play multiple positions which per Ed01, Slot likes. Gomez may actually leave, IMO but the likes of Porro and Ramsay (totally forgot about him, really) aren't good enuff either.
6.) 08 May 2025 12:37:29
Everyone is mentioning Bradley injuries and then saying he managed 50 odd games at Bolton - he has been in and out of the team, I think when he has played he has given his all and could the injuries be down to that stop starting - feels like he has give 110% to prove himself and fair play he has - I know you can’t go in light in a position I’m not suggesting that but I think the consistency in starting could have a positive effect on the bumps and knocks he is getting - I would definitely go all in on Bradley - look at bringing in a creative player to try and replace some of what is lost with Trent going - might be wrong, just feel like the none starters have just been sat there waiting for the starting 11 to get a knock then in Bradley’s case come in run round like a mad man, it can’t be good can it?
30 Apr 2025 07:53:14
Ed001, can I get your opinion on Joao Pedro from Brighton as a target for us please?
I know his goal tally isn't spectacular yet but he is still only young and he is a lot more familiar to the english game than some of the other linked names. He reminds me a lot of Bobby, dropping deep bringing wingers into play and can beat a player with skill instead of pace which is rare trait.
Similar to Cunha as a false 9 who is probably currently better but I think his ceiling is much higher.
Do you know how attainable he would be from Brighton?
{Ed001's Note - I am not a fan at all, they paid comparatively big for him and I think it was a mistake. He just doesn't impress me at all. He is nothing like Bobby, I don't see a comparison there at all, he is not even close to the player Bobby was. He runs around a lot but achieves very little and is far too loose in possession. He has improved a lot since his Watford days, but he wouldn't be my choice. He would probably cost more than Cunha and is not even close to his level.}
1.) 30 Apr 2025 10:06:35
Cunha walks around a lot, would that be acceptable to the rest of the team?
{Ed001's Note - van Dijk walks around more than anyone in the Prem, nobody complains about that.}
2.) 30 Apr 2025 10:57:40
Totally agree Ed001, have watched Brighton at the Amex a few times this season incl v LFC as live nearby, tbh Wellbeck is better!
{Ed001's Note - I hate to say it, but I agree on that, Welbeck is much better and more important when he is fit.}
3.) 30 Apr 2025 12:34:28
I've seen a lot of greats just walk around, until the ball is at their feet. Even Messi has done it throughout his career. Positioning is everything.
4.) 30 Apr 2025 13:26:06
Van dijk walking around was a topic on here before we signed him. If I remember correctly it was that he didn show urgency and would rely on his pace instead of being in the right place.
Always hard to know aye. I don’t know much about Joao Pedro so can’t comment. But in general I’d be looking their football skillset and play style to consider how they’d fit in.
5.) 30 Apr 2025 14:04:58
ArAy, even Salah walks around a bit at times BUT no one's saying anything about that either cos when we need him like you said, he is always there.
As for Joao Pedro, I always said it that we can do a lot better than him and Cunha is levels above him, IMO.
Oh, and there is no way in the world Joao Pedro is anything remotely close to The Bobbie Dazzler. Bobbie is a unicorn of a footballer, IMO and Joao Pedro is a scrub compared to him.
25 Mar 2025 07:39:01
{Ed's Note - TheCyKlopps has posted a new article entitled, Minor Changes Only With The Liverpool FC Team?
1.) 25 Mar 2025 11:24:06
Pretty insane to say we have endo as cover when slot refuses to start him.
Or to say that you think Robertson and tsimi are good enough at left back. Robbo's legs are done, and would be great to have around the team, but he's never starting what 40 games next year.
24 Mar 2025 17:08:04
TheCyKlopps has written an article entitled, Minor Changes Only With The Liverpool FC Team?
1.) 24 Mar 2025 17:34:14
Thanks for your article, CyKlopps. If you happen to be right, with your bit of fun, I reckon we would struggle to get top 4 next season.
2.) 24 Mar 2025 17:52:35
Interesting.
Gordon was definitely of interest before so you might be right on that one. Not sure he offers anything more than Diaz myself. In fact I think Diaz offers more so we lose a little there I my opinion.
Delap, suits a lower side I'm my opinion. Not sure he brings others into play. Bit head down. Then again he is on his own up there most the time. Probably just assumes no one is up there with him.
So not for me but maybe Hughes is aligned to your thinking.
Love the three contracts signing though. That's a big boost and keeps us in the hunt next season.
3.) 24 Mar 2025 18:18:51
CyKlopps
Are you my uncle Richard in disguise?
I’m glad you’re not in charge of our transfers lad, we would be doomed to a life of misery like the blues across the park.
I guarantee TAA is not a Liverpool player next season by the way, you can all shoot me if I’m wrong!
Adios TAA and good luck.
4.) 24 Mar 2025 19:14:33
I think we might see a lot of players leave. Slot likes to use a small squad with a few trusted back ups, rotation. Personally I would achieve this with back up rotation players that can cover multiple positions reliably.
Marmalade can cover Ali.
Gomez can cover the back line, perhaps a FB that can play both sides? Virgil replacement?
Definitely need another midfielder as many in the squad not trusted.
Chiesa can provide cover and rotation across the frontline if Slot gives him a chance.
Diaz can go. Gakpo better all around.
Salah replacement. Striker in. Jota or Nunez to remain as cover?
On the above I could see 5 incomings. Centre back, flexible fullback, midfielders, winger and striker with several outgoings including Kelleher, Tsimikas, Quansah, Virgil, Trent, Endo, Bajectic, Morton, Salah, Nunez or Jota and Diaz.
5.) 24 Mar 2025 20:51:52
Rory Delap and Antony Gordon feels like the second coming of Andy Carroll and Stewart Downing.
6.) 24 Mar 2025 20:56:28
We need a Van Dijk future replacement and that surely happens this summer, when Virgil leaves or not.
7.) 24 Mar 2025 21:07:12
Doesn’t matter if slot prefers a small squad, he’s at Liverpool the games come quicker and they mean more.
8.) 24 Mar 2025 22:30:21
Rory Delap! I hope that's a joke.
9.) 25 Mar 2025 01:15:01
Meant Liam Delap, mark. But point still remains. He’s a limited centre forward in the same way that Nunes is limited, the only difference is he has a uk passport and speaks English.
10.) 25 Mar 2025 01:45:59
Pretty certain Klopp used a small squad at Dortmund too. But EPL is a different beast (remember when Klopp suddenly realised midseason that EPL doesn't have a winters break) and so he might change his thinking like Klopp did.
11.) 25 Mar 2025 02:00:14
Liam Delap is limited how? Have you actually seen him play or are you just making stuff up in your head because of his last name? Very good player, strong as anyone, and has very good technical ability for a bull of a center forward, carries and dribbles from deep and can score all kinds of goals in the box or from distance. Maybe doesn't suit us 100% but he is certainly a very very interesting player.
12.) 25 Mar 2025 09:04:01
I do pray I'm right with these contract situations as I think that will decide the team's future for next couple of seasons as no one currently on the market could come close to replacing a single one of them and the club's hierarchy should be ashamed to allow it to get to this point.
Delap/ Gordon wise they're just what I foresee happening based on past transfers by the same committee and known interest shown.
Personally I do think we need better players than those two I've mentioned as we can't hang our hats on Salah again next season, even if he stays we need others to pitch in but I can't see any realistic players on the market we could bring in better than them.
Living in dreamland like some Id love for us to sign Kane/ Nico Williams.
13.) 25 Mar 2025 09:25:51
CyKlopps, you were doing well til you mentioned Kane. That carthorse doesn’t belong at Anfield.
03 Jul 2025 12:03:10
Lost for words. My prayers are with him, his family and the club as they grieve this tragedy. RIP.
19 May 2025 16:21:38
I live in Birmingham mate and my friends are all villains, they're convinced he's already agreed personal terms but they could be waffling I don't know. I agree and hope it is true though he deserves a top club.
19 May 2025 15:48:38
Has to be worth a bid, what's the wirtz that can happen?
19 May 2025 15:34:17
I've heard today Kelleher is expected to replace Emi Martinez at Villa.
16 May 2025 10:00:22
Wes Hoolahan?
11 Jun 2025 09:17:57
Id keep Jota for another season.
I know he's been unlucky with injuries and its possible they may have taken their toll but he's still only 28 and arguably our best natural finisher.
I think he still has a lot to offer coming off the bench at the very least.
10 Jun 2025 12:19:00
I think Martinez from Inter is the ideal target and listening to Akira and Carra he's possibly available.
A Consistent goal scorer, leader (Inter Captain), won major trophies and is old enough not to block the progression of Jayden Danns who I think has the potential to succeed him and lead the attack in the future.
This team has the potential to dominate on all fronts these next few seasons while others rebuild so why not add the best in class instead of adding the usual players with just potential which block the top talent from our academy.
14 May 2025 13:06:06
The rest are useful but fundamentally you couldn't make it to the highest level without knowing how to read a game, e. g finding space in midfield, the penalty box for strikers, etc.
14 May 2025 12:23:57
I think the clear choice is Konate depending he resigns this summer.
08 May 2025 10:19:15
