Anyone know why Virgil, Thiago and Konate missed training?

Swigbert17

1.) 12 Mar 2022 09:32:01
Suspected C.V. as per Klopp.

2.) 12 Mar 2022 09:35:20
would it be C.V. cases?

21 Aug 2021 07:23:30
Ed's, has there been any interest in Danny Drinkwater?

Swigbert17

{Ed001's Note - not from us, why would there be? He is crap and has addiction issues.}

1.) 21 Aug 2021 07:43:49
This must be a joke?!

2.) 21 Aug 2021 07:50:38
What about Ravel Morrison?

3.) 21 Aug 2021 08:06:40
Danny Drinkwater? Is it April 1st or something?

4.) 21 Aug 2021 07:31:26
Couldn't get a game for Burnley let alone us or Chelsea? What on earth?

5.) 21 Aug 2021 08:15:49
Oh man. Hope he gets over them.

6.) 21 Aug 2021 08:33:34
Did the OP have a very bad nightmare and is looking for validation?

7.) 21 Aug 2021 09:01:08
It was a joke off the back of ED002 reply yesterday.

8.) 21 Aug 2021 09:37:26
He is crap but hopefully he gets the help he needs for his addiction issues.

9.) 21 Aug 2021 10:20:02
Let's pick a random name just for the sake of it to p**s eds off.

10.) 21 Aug 2021 11:32:19
Maybe we could offer Naby plus a few mill.

11.) 21 Aug 2021 11:35:49
I’d imagine it was an attempt at humour after ed002 mentioned, just underneath, that they were surprised no fans have asked about his availability.

12.) 22 Aug 2021 07:12:13
For those desperate for us to sign someone. Let’s get him! Could turn out to be Hendo or Christian Poulsen. Roll the dice, splash the cash and see what happens 10 years from now. Whahahahhahaa.

13.) 22 Aug 2021 10:13:04
I got the joke OP. It was Ed2 who suggested we ask about Drinkwater haha. Don’t take everything so seriously guys!

30 Jul 2020 11:05:13
Hi Ed's,

We hear and see a bit about Sepp, but not much about Ki-Jana Hoever. Is he still showing potential and is he any closer to breaking through?

Thanks.

Swigbert17

{Ed002's Note - He is young and well thought of - I suspect next season will be similar to this for him.}

1.) 30 Jul 2020 11:25:17
Thanks matey.

2.) 30 Jul 2020 15:01:14
Im hoping they are all coming back fit and firing from their time away from football.

A lot to prove for a number of youngsters, especially in this unique time where spending will be at a minimum, they need to grasp opportunities.

I think a dark horse we might see in pre season is Rhys Williams, I have high hopes for the kid!

It's a shame that one of salahs demands isn't that klopp signs an extension.

Swigbert17

1.) 04 Apr 2022 13:09:29
By which I mean klopp should stay, just so there is no confusion!

2.) 04 Apr 2022 13:37:55
Good recovery mate👍.

3.) 04 Apr 2022 15:09:51
Hahaha, sweet one right there.

4.) 04 Apr 2022 16:31:01
Maybe it is.

25 Oct 2021 11:03:06
I see Coutinho is on 99 appearances at Barca. The last payment is based on 100, was that total appearances or in the league?

Is it likely they'll play him and pay or bench him do you think?

Swigbert17

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool will not be getting any more money for Coutinho.}

1.) 25 Oct 2021 12:11:31
We sold any future payments off to a third party for a cheaper price to help relieve cash flow problems. All money for coutinho we will get has been received.

2.) 25 Oct 2021 12:49:47
Is there not a way to automatically delete any posts containing a combination of “Coutinho”, “money”, “appearances” and “payment”? It is tiresome as a reader, let alone having to edit and respond I imagine.

3.) 25 Oct 2021 13:04:30
To be fair, although we will not be getting any more money (for the reasons above) are we liable to penalties if all of the money is not collected by the third party from Barca? I’m sure Ed002 said that a few months back?

So we should be celebrating him reaching 100 games as that means we will not suffer a financial penalty…?

4.) 25 Oct 2021 13:47:36
Took me about 8 seconds to read the post and If I had chosen to scroll past then it would have taken about 1 second. I think people need to up their physical activity and get more vitamins in if that kind of effort is tiresome.

5.) 25 Oct 2021 14:50:23
Agree JK23. and to then go to the effort of replying to it as well.

Ricky Gervais and "I don't want guitar lessons" comes to mind.

27 Jul 2021 18:46:26
Anyone in the academy close to promotion into the first team Ed's?

Swigbert17

{Ed002's Note - There is another step between the Academy and the first team they would need to take. A draw against Hartlepool in the League Cup may get a run out for two or three.}

1.) 27 Jul 2021 19:53:47
Yeah the U23s squad are all very young atm, but there's definitely some promising talent in the academy. You just have to look at the youngsters selected to go to the Austria camp with the senior squad, they were picked for a reason. Probably not ready for senior football this coming season, but GK: Pitaluga (18), H. Davies (17), DEF: Bradley (18), Beck (18), MID: Clarkson (19), Cain (19), Morton (18), FWD: Musialowski (17), Gordon (16) are the next to come through. Then there's a few stepping up from the U18s like Balagizi, Fraeundorf, Cannonier etc. But none ready for the senior squad. Hopefully Glatzel and the others will have a good season on loan. He's playing in a friendly vs Sunderland as I write this.

{Ed025's Note - great knowledge there JM, kudos mate..

2.) 27 Jul 2021 20:21:46
Why thank you very much, Ed025 mate. You're too kind. :)
I forgot Koumetio of course who's said himself he's learning loads and I've a good feeling Konate can be his Big Bro.
Layton Stewart's injury is tragic, James Norris is another promising left-back. We've some more high-caliber 16-17 year olds like Woltman, Mabaya, Bajcetic and of course Bobby Clark on his way in. But obviously it's very difficult to know how far young players will develop. I mean, we thought Ojo would be da bomb when we signed him for a cool two million back in 1976 while he was still nappies. ;)

{Ed025's Note - your very good JM, credit where its deserved mate..

3.) 27 Jul 2021 20:56:18
Fair play JM thank you very much mate, big respect there for the information 👍.

4.) 27 Jul 2021 21:24:27
Hopefully Musialowski gets a few minutes in one of the friendlies like Gordon, who's been very good. Was impressed with Frauendorf whenever i seen him last year, young Mabaya too.

The more I see of Isak the better he looks, definitely a star for the future.

Swigbert17

1.) 15 Jun 2021 00:37:00
Showed some flashes but I wouldn't go rushing to buy him just yet.

More determination and strength than anything most of the time although 2 nice moments in the box.

Also had moments of walking around and throwing his hands up in the air although some of Swedens passing was absolutely horrendous to be fair.

Hard to get a feel for his touch and building attacks with teammates from this game.

Also a player like him has to be good in the air and scoring from headers. Again Hard to judge in this game because Olsen couldn't hit the ball within twenty yards of a yellow Jersey.

You did say "the more I see" though so appreciate you ve seen the sides of his game this game failed to show.

2.) 15 Jun 2021 00:48:13
Dortmund have a buy back clause I think.

If they bring in all that money from Haaland and then quickly bring in Isak. I will have to take my hat off to them for awesome planning.

{Ed077's Note - Dortmund do indeed have a €30m buy back clause for Isak.

3.) 15 Jun 2021 07:45:15
17 goals in La Liga last season suggests there’s a good striker there. Certainly more than his opposite number for Spain has ever managed.

4.) 15 Jun 2021 08:03:11
Jury still way out on isak I think. Reminds me of our very own david ngog to be honest, and that's not a compliment. The guy has pace yes, but makes wrong moves off his marker, can't shoot great, not clinical yet, lightweight and not a real predatory positional instinct in the box like fowler or suarez had. This is just my opinion having seen and followed him based on yesterday's game only. He has a reputation and scoring in la liga suggests I am completely wrong, but only based on last night's game, I believe he is nowhere near (yet) a class quality top striker.

5.) 15 Jun 2021 11:48:47
Isak is a talent, no doubt and I love watching him. Still needs to do more in terms of his output and decision-making. Top talent, no doubt.

6.) 15 Jun 2021 11:59:49
Kingkev, you can’t compare a player to David ngog after watching him play ONE game, that is outrageous haha. Plus he was probably one of the better players on the pitch and gave the Spain defenders a nightmare at times.

7.) 15 Jun 2021 12:28:38
Could anyone disagree with Robertson man of the match for Scotland just glad he is a red.

8.) 15 Jun 2021 16:44:18
You're right bigvirg. I did repeat lots of times that I was judging him based on one game. Physically, he did remind me of ngog though. And when he completely scuffed an open goal in six yard box, flashes of ngog came back. Listen, he must have something to have scored 17 in la liga last season but definitely didn't bring his a game yesterday. But neither did entire Swedish team. They were negative and shockingly poor passers of the ball. Hopefully more to come from the lad though.

Everyone hyping up João Félix, he’s no better than Minamino from all the games I’ve seen.

They refinanced a large part of their debt and have the ability to bounce back very quickly with revenue generation. Plus their wage bill isn’t now much different to ours. They will likely post a profit this year and either way debt doesn’t really affect the stability of Barca/ Real, they would never forced under.

We’ve added tsimikas, konate and Jota, all young players and have a few youngsters looking to cement starts in the coming months/ year. The keeper is in his prime and will be for a good few years with a great young backup. Salah could easily play at the same level for another 3/ 4 years he’s that fit, do add another striker and a midfielder and there is no problem.

It’s about adding organically and strategically to maintain cohesion. People need to stop banging on about mass replacements and spending. As some who’s supported LFC for 45 years I am just loving watching this squad.

FSG are the best thing to happen to us in decades. Yes it’s not city money but we are always building, if not the squad then the infrastructure.

Get behind the club and get some perspective.

In Italy footballers and other elite sports folk can get 50 percent tax exemption. They are required to pay an annual fee if they claim the exemption. It’s done at varying levels in other countries.

A lot of people forgetting that the disjointed nature of defence meant the midfield (missing fab for most of it) was pulled back to provided added cover. Same for the front 3, they were often dragged back to create openings which made our attacks slow, predictable and ineffective.

It’ll be much different this year.

Spend and net spend over the last 3 years

LFC 129, 46
MU 426, 336
MC 402, 250
CFC 365, 65

Chelsea have raised significant amounts from sales that have enabled them to invest and have a net spend similar to us. It’s a bit like when we had the pipco money.
