This is to Ed002, and no I'm not having a go. You have said recently that we spend more than anyone on wages. Apparently 2 English clubs spend more than the reds, is that correct?

{Ed002's Note - Where did I say that Liverpool spend more than anyone else on wages? Manchester United spend more.}

We spend more in agents fees than anyone else, which ED002 has mentioned. We had a high number of players on large wages not contributing a lot though.

2.) 12 Aug 2020 21:52:34
Sorry Ed002, it was actually a remark by Ed001 that stated we have a larger wage bill than City. Which apparently is incorrect. We are 3rd behind City and Utd. All still behind Juve, RM and Barca. Do those 3 clubs really generate more income than anyone in the prem.

{Ed002's Note - At the last accounts Liverpool's wage bill was higher than that of Manchester City.}

I would hope the wage bill would go down this year, a bit, given that Clyne, Lovren and Lallana have moved on (almost 250,000 per week or 13 Million per year) . I don't see their replacements earning as much. Unless the likes of Douglas Costa or Thiago Alcantara are brought in.

Its remarkable that our squad wage bill is more then city . Anyone would agree overall they have a better squad. Not first 11 but squad
. which points that many of our 2nd 11 are not performing as per their salaries. So unless we get some one better then our first team 11 . we should let young and upcoming players take squad spots. this will help reduce the wages.

Also we have many out on loan that we actually pay to. If not in long term plans they should be allowed to move on.

{Ed0666's Note - as someone mentioned earlier Lovren, Lalana, maybe Shaq and Karius’ wages will ease the burden...

Whilst I’m not disagreeing with the fact we’re above City on wages I can’t help but wonder if their corporate structure is a factor here. Liverpool’s last set of accounts show that they have 853 employees in total whereas City’s accounts show they only have 463. I’m unconvinced that they really have 400 less staff than us unless we are supremely inefficient, rather that there are employees directly engaged by the umbrella company that sits above City who do work for all the other clubs they own as well. I’m not suggesting that anything dodgy is going on but it would be interesting to know exactly what is captured under the £97m of ‘Other Operating Expenses’ in their last accounts and wonder if some of that is a charge levied by the City Football Group for some centralised resources.

{Ed0666's Note - That would be Covid party expenses for Kyle Walker.

The wages City declare! (wink wink) Just joking. But glad were working on getting rid of players. Who were on high wages but contributing very little at times. Sturridge, moreno, clyne, mignolet, Lovren and Lallana. Is a lot of wages, and through injuries etc the majority of them. Didn't play much in their final year with us.

7.) 13 Aug 2020 09:55:47
Hey Ed0666, those "models" they fly in to Walker's and City players' soirees don't come cheap, I reckon.

{Ed0666's Note - Some guys have all the luck....I wanna be Kyle walker just for one weekend.

Sorry but that's a £250,000 a week rise. I know he has been superb for us, but really! This is like being held to ransom. Sell him at the end of the season, get someone else in.

So a mistake he made 30 years ago tars him forever. Paul Young got over it and accepted Gino's apology, maybe you should as well.
