Happy Deadline Day.
So not ITK except for this site and media, so please let me know if I am missing anything. Players in:
AOC - Pretty much done
VVD - No news updates, plenty want him including Southampton! We need this one over all others right now - have negotiations been happening behind closed doors? I hope so.
Lemar - Fee to be agreed - some mention of this being completed and player moving next summer - can't see it if Coutinho goes.
Players out:
Coutinho - The purported £148mil deal may well be enough, and think the Lemar rumours are a result of this.
Sakho - Bids rejected around £25mil we are asking for £30mil! Got to reduce his price to sell.
Markovic - I can see a loan at best now.
Mignolet - I can't see this happening right now - it's too late.
Origi - Can see the loan move happening
Sturridge - Stays.
Can - Will stay until his contract ends next summer then go for free.
Trying to cover all and not added clubs as too much, please add / correct me. It will be interesting at the end of Spanish window (tomorrow) to see how the above stands.

Fair assessment for me. Maybe can will go on a bit through the year but yeah I'd say that's fairly close to our state of affairs.

I could be very wrong but MAYBE Lemar is dependant on Coutinho leaving - which MAYBE a deal maybe announced tomorrow - preventing us being held to ransom on signing a replacement.
It might be Coutinho can leave, subject to us signing his replacement.
A few possible maybe's but all possible, or we may just sign Lemar anyway!
On a separate note, thanks mainly to Eds and all for one of our most entertaining, busy and exciting transfer windows - it's been emotional!

Well I am tied on this, I think if they offer £118 mil straight with no add ons, I would take it. BUT not at this time in the window!
Basically easy, and inferred by Eds - teams panic buying pay more at this stage. All will know we have £118 mil "in the bank" and anyone we want will be £20mil more! Exactly the same as what we see with Barcelona having £200mil "in the bank"

I agree with you, and it's a shame the amount of negativity around our business. The Kieta deal is ok as we still have cover for CM as Can may well depart next year - so replacement is coming.
We need to see this as a big step forward and we are attracting players now, we will see about Coutinho tomorrow - until then save the doom and gloom and see what happens.

I know we all want a new CB, me included, but our transfer business with Kieta coming next season is some very good business and a serious outlay of cash - IF Coutinho stays - which we will only know tomorrow when Spanish window closes.
Shame about CB, but all else I am very pleased with.

I think signing Lemar, VVD and keeping Can are priorities. Forget buying AOC and that would suit me, having signed Solanke, Robertson, Salah and Kieta (coming next year I know) that would be good business - even with the departure of Coutinho.
I am concerned we did not accept the £25mil for Sakho - let him go and restart his career. Would like to see the players that don't fit as such move on.

I think the ultimatum makes it easier for us to say no, their offer does not offer value due to £40mil addons!
£120mil straight up and we may well deal, it's up to Barcelona not us, it's ridiculous to say but £80mil is no longer that much in football - I never thought I would say that!
We and Dortmund own the players, I am just grateful Coutinho does not act like Dembele. as far as we know anyway.
