Fairplay to ED001.

Remember you saying at the start of the season that WHU were going to struggle this time round.

They look like a shadow of the team from last year. Such a sharp decline.

Smallsy

{Ed001's Note - confidence looks really fragile, they folded after the ridiculous penalty decision. Rather than using it to drive them on, they just gave up.}

1.) 06 Jan 2017 22:35:51
That right back Nordveit is dreadful. Scored an own goal after playing Everyone on side, then played everyone onside to make it 3 vs 1, then lost his marker from a corner. Directly at fault for 3 of City's goals. I'll never moan about Clyne again!

2.) 06 Jan 2017 23:48:31
Yea its really looking bleak for them. Fans never gave up though fair play even at 4-0.

One thing that irks me after embarrassing displays like that is when the match is over the coming together of the players. it seems to be an insight into the attitudes. I noticed Payet laughing and hugging City players along with a couple of other guys, then you have people like Noble who looked very down and sombre. I can't imagine being whipped 5-0 and being able to have a joke and a laugh. It's pretty disrespectful.

The penalty decision was ridiculously light. Any contact in the box is becoming a 50/ 50 pen. It's outrageous.

As much as Clyne can be a bit infuriating at times when it comes to his decision making etc. he's a very reliable player. He seems to grasp when to bomb forward and when to get back and cover, its just when he has the ball he seems to go into panic mode and rarely pick the right pass.

3.) 07 Jan 2017 00:48:44
Stadium move has been an absolute disaster for them. Their transfer business last Summer was awful and ended up with several below average players. Billc being found out is no surprise. Payet leaving is more likely than ever although i doubt marseille would be able to afford the reported huge fee.

{Ed007's Note - I don't think Bilic is as much of a problem as the clownshoes running the club. I'm sure there's been a load of transfer dealings in and out that Bilic didn't want or sanction.}

4.) 07 Jan 2017 10:29:34
Exactly how they got that stadium and how much the taxpayer has had to foot the bill is a scandal. No coincidence that Brady is a Tory cheerleader. Still she makes a nice trio with the porn peddlers. Feel sorry for their fans. Reid seems the best of the bunch player wise.

5.) 07 Jan 2017 04:58:11
Ed7, i've read quite a few managers like this. Might as well just let those 'clownshoes' manage the teams. In the end, it's the managers who get the sack, not them.

Good news for us in terms of injuries from Arsenal's camp.

Ozil, Mertesacker, Sanchez and now Gabriel all ruled out for our game.

Smallsy

1.) 07 Aug 2016 23:18:19
Sanchez is fit isn't he, he was playing today against City.

2.) 07 Aug 2016 23:35:46
You'd have to guess that Wenger's hand will be forced in terms of getting another CB sorted, I'd imagine Mustafi. But with only a few days to bed in, still a tall ask for our game.

If we show the intensity of the Barcelona game and go all guns blazing we have a very good chance.

Klavan and Lovren a must for me as CB pairing.

3.) 08 Aug 2016 00:17:13
We have to go and play the same game plan as Barcelona and we can go and let the prem know Liverpool mean something this year . But we should not be to mad if we lose its only the first game of 38.

Rodgers new Celtic boss. Wtf? Didn't see that one coming fairplay.

Smallsy

{Ed007's Note - Ed002 told me weeks ago about it mate, I'm just delighted it wasn't Neil Lennon again!!}

1.) 20 May 2016 17:40:53
Good to see Ed002 is keeping up to date on "The Nose". 😉.

2.) 20 May 2016 17:49:20
I hope he does well.

3.) 20 May 2016 18:01:12
Ed 02 is rodgers, either that or its her time of the month.

4.) 20 May 2016 18:09:23
Ed007 I bet. Be interesting to see how he gets on. Do you reckon it could be tactical? Obviously Celtic dominate so it should, in theory, be easier to put together a successful spell. Which could stand him in better stead for a PL job again in the future. Just going off the 12 month contract. that's how it reads to me.

I hope it works out whatever happens.

{Ed007's Note - It's one of those 12 month rolling contracts that seem to be all the rage and it's really a move aimed as getting us through the CL qualifiers and into the group stages. I was gutted it didn't work out with our last manager so hopefully Rodgers can make a diference. Cheers. (yes)

5.) 20 May 2016 18:44:06
Good luck with that Smallsey mate

6.) 20 May 2016 18:56:23
I think he could do a job for you. Also the Champions League experience will do him good and he does have some himself anyway, albeit not the best run ha.

Did this come about because Swansea have decided to stick with Guidonlin? Though he was heavily linked with a return to the Swans, that's why I was so surprised tbh.

{Ed002's Note - No. It is nothing to do with Swansea.}

7.) 20 May 2016 19:04:33
Does this mean Lfc can now stop paying Brendan 100k per week, as his "gardening leave" has ended?

{Ed002's Note - Yes.}

Hi Eds.

Sorry if it's already been posted. Did search but couldn't find anything.

Is there any update on Firmino in regards to being first for Thursday? It says 10th on Physioroom but so does Kevin Stewart who played for the U21's yesterday.

Cheers.

Smallsy

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea as I am out of the country and have not looked at any of the press releases for this week.}

1.) 05 Apr 2016 18:31:39
According to the Liverpool echo firmino should be fine for Thursday mate.

2.) 05 Apr 2016 18:37:20
He is fit for the game Smallsy.

3.) 05 Apr 2016 18:32:26
Thanks Ed002.

Cheers for the swift reply.

All the best.

4.) 05 Apr 2016 19:41:45
Ah cheers for that guys.

That's great news. Can't wait til Thursday!

5.) 06 Apr 2016 01:04:26
Firmino is doubtful might make the bench.

Question/ s for Ed001 if possible.

Obviously its highly likely we'll be able to overcome Utd at Old Trafford if we're able to just keep up momentum etc, thus getting through to the final 8 of the Europa.

Would you like to see us drawn against Dortmund at some point?
I guess the most epic being a final showdown if we actually get that far.

And the second part of the question. if we were drawn against them, how much of an advantage do you think it would be having Klopp who has worked with many of the players inside out, knowing their strengths and weaknesses? Do you think it could give us a better chance in a way?

I know it would be the hardest draw, but it would produce two really special nights of football. especially with the Klopp aspect and, I think, I real mutual respect between the two fanbases.

Many thanks in advance.

All the best mate.

Smallsy

{Ed001's Note - I don't care who we play, I just want us to win. It should give us an edge yes.}

1.) 13 Mar 2016 09:37:17
Oh don't start thinking this ties over mate .
Players start looking to Dortmund ect we'll be beaten at Of Trafford.

2.) 13 Mar 2016 10:31:15
I'd rather we dodged Dortmund but in saying that if we play like we did in the 1st leg with united we could beat anyone left in this comp.

I can see us scoring at OT which finishes the tie.

3.) 13 Mar 2016 10:39:17
Next goal winner.

4.) 13 Mar 2016 10:44:24
That will be the final if we get through its written in the stars.

Really Roy?

I liked Houllier but clearly Klopp is better for the club, There was no real synergy with Houllier. If we can get the energy back and get our support behind the team i'm sure we'll get back on track.

ED025.

I would say naturally there is a lean towards your own players. But Barkley and Henderson are miles apart.

Even if Barkleys ability is that much better as you say its irrelevant if it's failed to be utilised. You're comparing a captain of a team, rewarded for his utmost discipline and commitment and the example he sets to others. He's also gaining quick ground in terms of his consistency. A player that is definitely improving constantly, whilst not playing in a position he's necessarily totally used to.

Then you have Barkley, someone that has capitulated in terms of his end product time after time, lacks any real consistency to his game and whos regularly in and out of the team. Add that to the fact that i'm guessing he's a bit of a party head by the comments above and i don't understand the comparison between him and Henderson in any footballing terms really.

Is it not you who has the blue tinted glasses on mate? ;) .

Smallsy

{Ed025's Note - what i was pointing out smallsy was the difference of opinion that fans will have on players especially their own, we see ross as a talent who has all the attributes to become a very special player but has yet to reach those dizzy heights, we see jordan as a headless chicken who runs around a lot but is actually busy doing nothing, you see barkley as an overweight underachiever and henderson as the second coming...it was an exercise to see how different we see the game depending on which colours you don and i think i proved my point mate.. :)

It was not that long ago that he had a little dig at klopp about his tactics and how Tuchel has the team and him playing better football etc. I think he said it was something to do with the football being more intelligent or something. Before we played Dortmund.

Ja Kurtz are you for real?

Coric is a serious, serious talent. He is probably on the radar of nearly every big club in European football right now. He has that much potential. I'm sure ed002 will confirm this. For all the noise that Odegaard was making I think this kid looks to have maturity beyond his years in football terms.

Ed025.Money doesn't buy you happiness apparently. If i was in his position i'm sure I could muster a bit of a smile though :D.

I swear he's getting more miserable every year that goes by. Its painful to watch him on punditry duty because of how serious he is.

As a player though, Gerrard trumps Lamps for me, though both were brilliant to watch.

Smallsy

{Ed025's Note - i agree with that smallsy ability wise there was a gulf thats for sure, i think frank is more endearing to the general public though and comes across as a nice guy which now their careers are over puts him on top mate..

I agree mate. Its absolutely frustrating as hell for any fan of the club right now.

but this short-lived optimism is bullish*t. We were playing amazing football less than two months ago and people have already forgotten about it and turned almost completely negative. Its not like the apocalypse is nigh. Its a hurrendous lack of form, but we will bounce back. if we show some belief and support.

if an everton fan can see the sky is blue (no pun intended) how on earth can our own fans not see the positives :D. Come on guys.

hopefully more in the 3-4 range ;) .

I know you're quite critical of Klopp. I realise he has his shortcomings etc.
Do you think he was the right choice for LFC at the point in time he joined?

Personally I'm really thankful he's our manager. i back the positivity thing. I've been lucky to do well out of life and I believe self-belief and positivity in yourself is often the key and core trait to success. Sometimes even more so than intelligence and skills. I think this is why the squad we have has almost over performed so far this season. He did have this positivity in abundance and i totally believe this went along way in our early season success. The fans totally bought into it, as did the critics. The dip in my eyes is mainly down to the opposite, lack of confidence and self-belief. A lot of people talk about physical ability and fitness levels but i think having mental strength gets you through these periods.

don't mean to sound like a hippy btw.

I 100% agree Ed025. I don't get this arrogance that surrounds the club. Don't get me wrong, this club has an almost unmatched history but people need to realise that this is history and the prosperity of years past is long gone.

We had a world beater in Suarez a couple of seasons ago and absolutely over-achieved. People saying that he was one part of a team are wrong. He was half a team on his own. I don't condone his stinking attitude and behaviour but he was a certified world beater. If you think we would be talking about 2nd place with Suarez omitted you're mad. Technically the most gifted to play for the club. Rodgers was lucky to have such a talent.

People take the fundamentals for granted. We have a great stadium, massive fan base, great manager and a whole load of potential.

Try and see the positives guys, its not all doom and gloom.

{Ed025's Note - i agree on the suarez factor smallsy, i get the frustration of the fans you know, you are so close to having something special and i know it can make you tear your hair out at times, but i believe you are on the right track with klopp and you must remember its very early in his tenure, with a couple of additions who knows what this team can achieve so i think the supporters should try and be patient and be that extra man from the terraces, good times are not that far away for me mate..

I'm not berating you by the way. I really appreciate your opinion.

Where do you see us finishing this season?

{Ed002's Note - Somewhere in the 3 to 7 range.}
