Hi Ed1, just curious how much you've heard about this Moroccan CB from Rennes that we've been linked with? Are we close to an agreement? Or will we not pursue until we shift one of Quansah/ Gomez?
{Ed001's Note - I expect us to sign him this window.}
1.) 11 Jun 2025 16:17:38
He will be the Quansah replacement when he leaves.
2.) 11 Jun 2025 16:19:03
Sound, I look forward to seeing him. Always love a more under the radar defender.
Also just curious, did you know more about the intention to sign Wirtz early on or did you find out with the rest of us when the news broke?
Cheers for your reply Ed!
{Ed001's Note - when the news broke.}
3.) 11 Jun 2025 16:20:56
I think he is one for the future behind all our CB in pecking order. We need a replacement for Matip. Someone that can help with creative passes from the back.
4.) 11 Jun 2025 16:29:08
at half the price and twice as good?
5.) 11 Jun 2025 16:33:32
Top man Ed! Love your info!
Any idea on a possible fee?
{Ed001's Note - no mate, not a clue.}
6.) 11 Jun 2025 16:49:15
I'm very interested to hear that you expect him to be signed Ed, and I think that's great news if it happens. I know the name had been linked previously, but did not know if there was much movement.
Shrewd signing if it goes through. Thank you OP for the rumor and Ed for your thoughts.
7.) 11 Jun 2025 16:54:40
Think I might of missed it, but what’s the centre backs name from Rennes please?
8.) 11 Jun 2025 17:53:09
Boudlal.
9.) 11 Jun 2025 18:04:01
Des Appearin.
10.) 11 Jun 2025 18:06:13
According to Moroccan outlet Le360 Sport, the Reds have submitted a ‘concrete offer’ for Abdelhamid Aït Boudlal, a 19-year-old centre-back with Ligue 1 side Rennes.
11.) 11 Jun 2025 18:40:54
ScouseDap, same Ed1. Totally out of the blue. Hopefully another 1 or 2 more like that as well.
12.) 11 Jun 2025 18:29:04
Ed, is it time to be excited about Wirtz yet? Because I'm not trying to jinx anything, that Fekir deal still haunt me.
{Ed001's Note - I think so, yes.}
06 Jun 2025 04:29:19
Hi Eds, you aware of any interest from us in Francisco Conceição? Could be an interesting option to replace Salah down the line.
{Ed025's Note - nothing on him being linked with Liverpool DAP..
1.) 06 Jun 2025 07:50:52
The guy was a nightmare vs Germany but is stats for Juve kinda poor for a potential Salah replacement but what do I know?
2.) 06 Jun 2025 08:36:03
Thierry Henry was looking like a flop at juventus at a young age, look how he turned out.
{Ed025's Note - best forward ever to grace the premiership Hailstones..
3.) 06 Jun 2025 08:40:25
Until he was overtaken by Salah Ed.
{Ed025's Note - Salah does get in my top 10 Robbo, not anywhere near the top of course but certainly in there mate..
4.) 06 Jun 2025 09:45:35
Carra still has nightmares about Henry. It was always either him or Drogba we struggled against (well mainly Carra)
I'd definitely be putting Henry right up there. above Salah imo (as much as I love Salah)
5.) 06 Jun 2025 10:34:39
Henry was my best prem player but after what he did to republic of Ireland in the world cup game put me right of him. Carra was always chasing forwards because he was average .
6.) 06 Jun 2025 09:24:06
Who would be your top 10 in order Ed025 as a matter of interest?
{Ed025's Note - the top 2 speak for themselves in Henry and Shearer SG, then there is a gap to the likes of Zola, Drogba, Salah, Bergkamp, Rooney, Aguero, and Cole, these are just my picks of course mate..
7.) 06 Jun 2025 12:14:17
@25, I always preferred Dennis Bergkamp - proper footballer. He’s another one I’d love to have seen play for us. That said Henry wasn’t too shabby.
{Ed025's Note - my top 3 prem players of all time are Henry, Bergkamp and Shearer in that order WDW..
8.) 06 Jun 2025 15:46:36
No Fowler, Ed025? The best striker I saw during the 1990s, better than Shearer in my view. If only injuries hadn't plagued him in later years, and Ged hadn't chased God out of his house.
{Ed025's Note - i was a big fan of Robbie Zed, i forgot about him mate but he would certainly be in the shake up, most natural finisher i would say..
9.) 06 Jun 2025 17:57:12
Henry was still raw at Juve but anyone could see he was a supreme talent. I was 12 years old when I seen him play for Juve and turned to my Step Dad and said who is that Henry guy looks class. Couldn’t believe years later he became what he did. my Step Dad still mentions how I was the first to see he was a superstar.
Another story, I watched Salah play against Chelsea for Basel and went into work the next day and told my fellow Red supporting workmate I have seen this player and I would love him to play for Liverpool one day. Well I still work with him and we laugh all the time how my dream became better than I could have ever imagined.
Now just to say, Wirtz was my first pick in the last World Cup fantasy football and my boss said who is that? He scored within minutes of the first game at the tournament obviously Germany had a poor tournament but Wirtz still shone. I can’t wait to see this transfer confirmed on Sky Sports News another dream may become true.
13 May 2025 19:56:03
Eds, heard a rumour that sounds like bollocks but wondering if you could provide some insight. No chance we're in for Lee Kang-In or Gonçalo Ramos from PSG are we?
{Ed001's Note - more a case of them looking to sell both and offering them around. If we are interested, they would be easy deals to complete.}
1.) 13 May 2025 20:14:17
Do you see us being interested though? Ramos I could maybe see taking on the Jota role but I’d be shocked if we were interested in Lee.
Thanks as always Ed.
{Ed001's Note - I think the same, Ramos could replace Nunez or Jota but I doubt we would want Lee.}
2.) 13 May 2025 20:23:40
Do you not rate ramos as a different option of striker ed, I have always thought he was a) better than nunez b) a quality striker.
{Ed001's Note - I am surprised he has not been used more by PSG, I have to say. I would defo take him over Nunez.}
3.) 13 May 2025 20:39:48
Well, great minds and all that. Cheers Ed.
{Ed001's Note - I hope it is thar, but it could well be the fools seldom differ version.}
4.) 14 May 2025 10:52:14
Ramos reminds me a bit of Jota in that he's not much of a build up player, but great finisher. And he's not permanently broken, which is an advantage over Jota!
15 Apr 2025 20:52:09
Hi Ed001, just wondering if you're aware of us holding interest in Morgan Rogers? I know you've said you like him personally, but that its a very unlikely signing (though worth a go) . Do you know if LFC are actively looking at him?
Cheers.
{Ed001's Note - if there is any suggestion he will leave, I would expect us to at least throw our hat in the ring, as things stand there is no consideration of him as he is not looking to move.}
1.) 15 Apr 2025 21:36:12
Pity, but here’s hoping we can make the unlikely happen. Cheers for your input Ed.
{Ed001's Note - very welcome.}
11 Mar 2025 15:13:23
Hi Eds, anything in the rumours today about our interest in Schlotterbeck? I know Bild is rubbish but Bild+ tends to be more reliable from what I know. Said he's a possible contingency if van Dijk leaves.
Cheers for your hard work.
{Ed001's Note - impossible to tell mate. We have looked at lots of centre-backs, he is certainly one of them, but that is all so far.}
1.) 12 Mar 2025 13:11:57
Not renewing Virgil is unimaginable.
2.) 12 Mar 2025 16:05:07
If we make Virgil an offer and he refuses it, or if we don't want to rebuild the team tailoring it around a 33/ 34 year old then we'll have to start imagining it, I think we're preparing for all 3 to leave tbh.
3.) 12 Mar 2025 16:24:53
Would be the best signing. Extending his contract. If he dies go we probably need two CBs. Still haven’t replaced Matip, Gomes injury prone and Quansah not sure.
4.) 12 Mar 2025 16:45:03
Yup. We’ll need a replacement if he dies for sure.
5.) 12 Mar 2025 17:30:59
PSG owners were speaking to him after the game. Could have been about anything really but it would be a joke if they or someone else make him a better offer in the next few weeks than we have in the last 2 years.
6.) 12 Mar 2025 20:24:55
Some clubs are state backed and play by different rules, so I wouldn’t judge us against them if they offer higher contracts. It’s down to the players now.
7.) 12 Mar 2025 21:16:30
If you were going by data, Schlotterbeck has similar stats.
8.) 12 Mar 2025 21:44:54
Up to the players to an extent. He’s the best defender in the world he should be paid like it. Earns less than Davies, Rudiger, Stones, Alaba, James and a few others.
9.) 13 Mar 2025 01:33:04
“Still haven’t replaced” ?. We have, you know.
The fact that you (or me) don’t like the replacement doesn’t mean that a 30 odd year old who was, sadly, becoming increasingly prone to injury and who, in fact, decided to retire hasn’t been replaced.
10.) 13 Mar 2025 07:56:10
Very good player and has been Dortmund's best and most consistent player this season, though that isn't saying much because they have been pretty rubbish. Generally he is one of the only players who have been decent through and despite their struggles He's left sided and has played left back before, is very good on the ball, very fast, mobile, decent in the air. Still, I'd probably have huijsen higher up the list than him.

Morning Ed001,
You mentioned a few midfielders you'd be interested in seeing us sign:
Joao Gomes
Hugo Larsson
Baleba
Ederson
Andrey Santos
Anderson
I was just curious if these are players that the club are considering or if they're just players you like personally?
Cheers.
{Ed001's Note - I was asked to name the midfielders I would like mate, so purely my personal choices.}
1.) 21 Apr 2025 10:12:11
Do you think the club has learned lessons? In terms of contracts to existing players and firmly identifying targets not constantly changing. I know you mentioned there was plenty time but I don’t think there is we don’t want to be in July trying to decide who is the number one target in each position.
2.) 21 Apr 2025 10:20:18
Ed, is that Anderson from Forrest?
{Ed001's Note - yes.}
3.) 21 Apr 2025 10:39:08
There should be no/ fewer power struggles, and less change also, which would suggest that the house will be in order from now on, provided its not Richard choosing players that Slot does not want.
4.) 21 Apr 2025 11:48:29
Hopefully Slot has earned the right to have a big say in who he wants.
5.) 21 Apr 2025 12:02:24
I'm a hopeless romantic and want us to sign De Bruyne. I can't explain why because on paper it seems silly but I just think it'll be a Gary McAllister/ Andrea Pirlo level success.
6.) 21 Apr 2025 13:34:24
We need energy and bite in midfield…. at this stage of his career KDB has neither. Great player though, I also suspect he wouldn’t leave City for another prem team.
7.) 21 Apr 2025 13:46:16
Have you watch Hugo Larsson Ed? Is he more of a ball winning midfielder or more of a playmaker type of player?
{Ed001's Note - I have only seen a little, but he looks exactly like the type of player Slot is looking for - a playmaker who can break up play as well.}
8.) 21 Apr 2025 15:00:10
Got it Ed, thank you for your reply. Do you know if the club is in fact interested in any/ many of these players?
{Ed001's Note - Gomes and Larsson are of interest.}
9.) 21 Apr 2025 15:52:07
Sound, cheers for your reply Ed.
{Ed001's Note - very welcome mate.}
08 Apr 2025 14:36:52
Hi Eds,
Curious about your opinion on our striker targets. Lots of names have flown around (Ekitike, Cunha, Isak, Gyokeres, Sesko, etc. ) Who do you like from these options? Like the look of Ekitike myself.
{Ed001's Note - Cunha and Isak are head and shoulders above the rest imo.}
1.) 08 Apr 2025 19:41:25
Fair enough I agree. Penny for your thoughts on the other names mentioned? Isak obviously slim-to-none chance and Cunha will surely have suitors so we may not end up with them.
Also wondering if you think it’s likely if Diaz goes that we try for Gordon again?
{Ed001's Note - not seen enough of Ekitike, Sesko is all potential, Gyokeres scores goals and sometimes looks great but then the next time I see him he looks awful. I am really not sure what to make of him.}
2.) 08 Apr 2025 21:00:45
Cheers for your input mate.
3.) 08 Apr 2025 20:48:51
Forget to ask about Lautaro before Ed. Have we look at him? Or is Inter want/ need to sell him?
{Ed001's Note - I don't know about us looking at him or not but Inter do not want to sell and do not currently feel they need to sell him.}
14 Jan 2025 17:01:48
Eds are you finding it concerning that we seem unable to bring in any targets? I hate the term pull as it's very juvenile but it does feel like we're constantly missing out on the "right player" that we always say is the only acceptable solution. Why do we no longer seek back up targets?
{Ed001's Note - it is a bit early to judge the window yet. Let's see at the end of January what has happened.}
1.) 14 Jan 2025 17:13:11
Ed01 we see and here this every well let's see how it goes before we judge and every year it goes the same we sign no one we actually need.
{Ed001's Note - every year? If you say so, but that clearly isn't true or we would only have academy players in the team.}
2.) 14 Jan 2025 17:16:37
In your opinion will we see some good business regarding incomings? I know you said we’ve thought about a midfielder and a defender, but so far Tzimas is the heaviest link.
{Ed001's Note - I expect Hughes to go all out, it is otherwise going to become intolerable for him to deal with the fallout from the fans. So I do expect him to pull out all the stops to get what Slot requires. Might not be what we think the club needs though!}
3.) 14 Jan 2025 17:22:24
Few years ago we were top in January crying out for a centre back brought in Kabak and Davies then came 3rd. We are in bad need of a CB while top again, surely we can’t be foolish enough to risk throwing the season away again? Konate isn’t fully fit and will get injured again. Gomez is out. Quansah miles off it. The only CB we can rely on is out of contract in 6 months! We were short in defence and midfield last year because Matip and Thiago were injured then we didn’t replace them and remained short saying nonsense like they didn’t play anyway so don’t need replacing.
4.) 14 Jan 2025 18:02:43
There's no reason to have any faith in Hughes whatsoever . The man is clearly an imbecile.
5.) 14 Jan 2025 18:06:17
We were not top of the PL in January when we brought in Kabak and Davies, were we?
6.) 14 Jan 2025 18:12:52
In recent years we’ve not tended to do well with last minute panic incomings. Arthur, Kabak, Davies.
7.) 14 Jan 2025 18:15:18
we were not Rigsby, but a good moan doesn't need facts?
8.) 14 Jan 2025 18:21:01
But still he has a point
The decisions Liverpool make it as if they don’t want to win anything.
9.) 14 Jan 2025 18:22:10
Ed01, I agree that Hughes would like to go all out but that will surely depend on how financially restricted he is, and I suspect he doesn’t have financial freedom he would like. We shall see.
10.) 14 Jan 2025 19:30:24
Are we judging the squad we currently have by their league positions and their progress in the cup competitions? There are a lot of ‘should have’, ‘could have’ and ‘why didn’t we’ in most of the posts in recent weeks but the fact is we are top of the league, top of CL qualifying and very much alive in the League Cup semi.
There doesn’t seem to be a lot of enjoyment about where the club actually is, which I honestly think is a real shame. There is a lot more fun to be had enjoying the journey than worrying about a destination at some shifting point in the future.
11.) 14 Jan 2025 22:22:54
So WDW if we don’t win anything can we blame the lack of transfer activity or the ineptitude of the owners? Or will the party line be… we never expected to win anything in Slot’s first season, or see the positives… I’m sick of being a nearly club… we should be winning this league, why not ensure we secure it by gaping those holes.
12.) 15 Jan 2025 02:30:48
Are you pretending to be obtuse or actually obtuse? With the squad we have we are quite capable of winning things but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t buy the right players if they want to join us.
My point was that with our without new players we should enjoy what the team is doing.
Funnily enough I support Liverpool and want to watch the play and play well, and by doing so, win things.
I have no idea what a Director of Football Operations does, I have a rudimentary understanding of contract negotiations (though not in the football business) and I have no idea what most of the backroom office staff do and to tell the truth I don’t care. I just like watching Liverpool play good football.
As ever, you are keen to point out what you perceive as being wrong which is ok - that’s not me giving you permission by the way as I ‘m not the boss of you or anybody else on the forum. The thing is, your views appear to be at odds with the views of the people that own and run the club.
11 Jan 2025 03:52:02
Can anyone explain the mythos of who Macca is? Only started browsing the site this past year and heard references, and then saw he posted the other day and everyone went wild. Is he considered generally reliable?
1.) 11 Jan 2025 05:25:22
Well, been on this site for a decade+. macca posted some quality rumors and info. He might not have been on par with the late, great Ed02 but when he posted you paid attention because he clearly wasn't some rando! I think some trolls on this site were giving him crap so he pretty much disappeared so when he comes back from time to time we celebrate his return and appreciate what he shares.
2.) 11 Jan 2025 06:07:52
He gives info on whe we may sign. There maybe some things beyond everyone as some may not be signed due to many reasons. He is accurate just like Ed002.
3.) 11 Jan 2025 06:08:54
And there was a page dedicated to him for posting info. So you must get idea how important and accurate he was for the page.
4.) 11 Jan 2025 07:36:01
If I remember right, and I’m sure ed001 will correct me if I’m wrong, his status on the site was boosted massively when we signed Seb Coates as Macca called it out of nowhere.
It’s been many a moon since then but I’m sure Macca called that one.
5.) 11 Jan 2025 09:51:32
The difference between Macca and Ed002 was that Macca is Liverpool specific. 002 way across all aspects of the behind the scenes game in multiple countries.
6.) 11 Jan 2025 11:23:05
Macca has links to (or at least did) have links to the club in some way. Can’t remember exactly but I think one of the Ed’s explained it once.
So used to get some great insider info.
I’ve got a particularly excellent source at the club myself but they tell me absolutely fu@k all ?.
7.) 11 Jan 2025 10:00:02
His rumours are sound. I think Ed001 can attest that he has legitimate links to the club where he gets these updates from. The issue is when these rumours don't come to fruition or when people tried to pit him against Ed002. It was getting a bit toxic at that time so Macca decided to step away. Only occasionally now would he post.
8.) 11 Jan 2025 12:28:22
Spot on, Dracred. Macca called Naby and VVD back in the day. It was the shocking pieces of work on here at the time that rained abuse on Macca and on Ed02 to the point that Macca left and as much as I know, ain't been back since. Till recently, as much as I know. I tell ya, some of our "fans" are the absolute worst.
9.) 11 Jan 2025 12:39:47
Macca, basically, is not the hero we deserve, but the hero we needed. ?.
10.) 11 Jan 2025 14:14:04
Old poster with links to the club and fairly reliable rumours.
Think he posted something a few years back and it resulted in ed002 taking a lot of grief so he decided to a step back.
11.) 11 Jan 2025 14:58:29
Ex-player isn't he? ?.
12.) 11 Jan 2025 22:15:08
Yeah PeteColo pretty much covered it.
Macca is a good poster, posting solid info.
Not every deal proceeds to completion so if Macca posts something then there’s substance to it, but things don’t always work out.
11 Jun 2025 16:19:03
Sound, I look forward to seeing him. Always love a more under the radar defender.
Also just curious, did you know more about the intention to sign Wirtz early on or did you find out with the rest of us when the news broke?
Cheers for your reply Ed!
{Ed001's Note - when the news broke.}
09 Jun 2025 20:20:42
Davey does his name rhyme with Shakira?
29 May 2025 22:31:39
I found the quote, it’s from the BBC gossip column, but the article it’s referencing does not say that whatsoever and talks about the flaws with Bayerns plan to convince him.
29 May 2025 22:20:00
Mate I can’t find any evidence this passage exists. Not sure where you got it from but I think you’ve been had.
28 May 2025 18:02:19
Ron maybe not gone under everyone’s radar but more so unexpected to be available?
17 Jun 2025 13:55:55
The player Ed is referring to is Agbadou on Wolves.
14 Jun 2025 20:27:30
Ed if robbo goes, does that mean we keep Tsimikas? Or do we plan to move him on too and bring in a Hato or someone of that ilk?
{Ed001's Note - we have plenty of options that were on loan last season, they would be fine to provide back up to Kerkez.}
23 May 2025 02:06:56
We wanted mount, he chose United for money, then we went and got Szoboszlai instead. If I recall correctly it all happened very fast.
21 Apr 2025 15:52:07
Sound, cheers for your reply Ed.
{Ed001's Note - very welcome mate.}
21 Apr 2025 15:00:10
Got it Ed, thank you for your reply. Do you know if the club is in fact interested in any/ many of these players?
{Ed001's Note - Gomes and Larsson are of interest.}
