don't really get why everyone is so convinced somethings going to go wrong with the fekir thing. Pretty much every deal will have issues with them if people analyse them on an hourly basis. If everyone can just be patient, the deal will get done I'm sure.

Too many paranoid people out there mate.

A week ago I would've been saying I don't think Fekir will be joining. Now I think he will but not bothered when, it happens when it happens. Obviously sooner the better but I'm not going to waste my time over analysing things I have no idea about, I'll leave that to people who are working on the transfer. Everyone needs to chill and be patient, it'll happen if it's meant to be.

2.) 09 Jun 2018 09:38:47
This will happen eventually. It has to!

3.) 09 Jun 2018 09:43:45
Seeing that we’ve done deals for van Dyke, Keita and Fabinho I’m confident that Michael Edwards is more than able to make it happen.

4.) 09 Jun 2018 10:53:44
I've no doubt it will happen, I just find it amusing when folks try to play the oracle, claiming to be "in the know".
If you stick your head above the parapet and all that.

Because a lot of people don’t seem to know much about fabinho thought Id do a little profile, because I used to live in france a year ago and watched a lot of Monaco. Admittedly, i've been in Australia the past year so haven’t kept up to date and apparently he's been having a bit of a worse season, but that’s most likely because he didn’t get the transfer he wanted last summer (you decide what that says about his character although personally I think it is the same as with van dijk and everyone is happy with him, so not too much of an issue) .

Fabinho used to be a fullback under Ranieri and in Jardims first season, but during Jardims second season he was transferred to midfield because he’s excellent on the ball and can cover ground easily. He’s a very lanky build, and moves across the ground effortlessly, so was able to support attacks from deep well – look up his goal against Man City in the Champions league where he arrived a bit later in the box to put a cut back away from around the penalty spot. He has an excellent passing ability and the good thing is he does it all fast. Not like Can who often takes too many touches. This helped Monaco play the quick counter attacking game that saw them get to the champions league semis and win Ligue 1. Alongside Bakayoko, Fabinho was seen as the more defensive minded player of the 2, but because Bakayoko was box to box, fabinho has some license to move forward with the ball. He’s very good at shifting the ball in tight spaces and under pressure as well which could help if Liverpool are pressed. When he does move forwards, he prefers to move down the inside right channel, or down the wing, so could offer an option in a similar sort of way to what AOC has done this season when played with hendo behind him. Fabinho could do something similar in this sense.

Defensively, Fabinho times his challenges well and reads the game pretty well also, but he does has a problem. Although he's seen as a holding midfielder, he is forward thinking, and sometimes when in the 2 with Bakayoko, they were both caught too far forwards, and fabinho often didn’t seem to be breaking his neck to get back – I wouldn’t say its laziness or bad attitude, but just not necessarily seeing danger early enough and so not switching from an attacking mindset to a defensive one. Having said that, he does have the pace and capability to recover if he is caught slightly out of position, so if he develops and Klopp improves his concentration then this problem could be reduced.

All in all, he's an excellent signing and particularly for that price in the current market (just as an aside, it feels like Monaco don’t always maximise sale price potential with this sale and bernardo silva in particular, but what do I know! ) . He’ll definitely improve the midfield and has the capabilities to dominate a game with his passing and physicality. Also, he’s more imposing than current midfielders so and improvement there as well. I’m excited to see him next to keita and ox (+ if we sign anyone else) . Just think of the ground they’ll be able to cover, and if they do it intelligently our pressing game will be taken up a notch!

Cheers redman21. Good read, and pretty much how I'd describe him from what games I've watched him in also.

2.) 29 May 2018 13:35:28
Great one, Redman21. I think he has improved us already in midfield esp. since Ed01 who has watched him a lot, said he is an upgrade on Wiji and Can.

I just wanted to put a message out there to everyone on this site. Basically before writing anything just think about it. there's no need to slag anyone off ever - would you like that done to you? Also as this fabinho deal has shown, sometimes transfers can't be predicted as I don't think anyone really saw this one coming. that's doesn't mean that all the Eds are idiots and misinforming everyone, it just means that sometimes the club keeps things close to their chest. I think everyone posting on here should just take a look at themselves and see if they're actually proud of what their saying. I know it sounds patronising but clearly it needs to be said. Cheers to the Eds for all the work they put into the site!

I m pretty sure ed02 definitely know it considering his link in Monaco but its a shame our fans have already burned the bridges with him.

{Ed001's Note - he has already said himself it was a surprise as LFC jumped in quick. Monaco were in talks with Atletico, which broke down and then we jumped in. It was a surprise as the Atleti deal looked pretty much done and dusted.}

2.) 29 May 2018 06:06:24
Thanks ed01 for clearing things. Can't thanks enough all of eds the hard work they put in.
Their is a reason this is the most visited site by me and fans like me.
Thanks again.

{Ed001's Note - welcome mate.}

3.) 29 May 2018 08:10:45
Wow, FABINHO? Really? Now that came out of left field. He was nailed on for Utd and then Atleti and now, LFC>? Well done, LFC. He is definitely a step forward at DM and can also get forward and score goals. BRILLIANT!

4.) 29 May 2018 19:32:13
I guess it goes to show things can change quickly at this time of year.

5.) 29 May 2018 19:33:22
maybe as a general rule fans should stop take any information shared as gospel? We can trust the eds a lot more about what they know of, but I've started especially in the last 12 months to separate that information from also meaning that a deal is definitely going to happen. And I don't think the eds have ever really shared their knowledge with that intention anyways.

BBC are reporting that Bale's 1st goal has gone to the dubious goals panel. Apparently Harry Kane is claiming it was all him.

I know its been mentioned after most games this season, but the standard of refereeing is shocking. Yesterday I can’t understand how we didn’t get at least one penalty (I can’t see how the first handball wasn’t one because he definitely had time to move and it definitely struck his arm, and the trip on salah was about as blatant as it gets)! I just think its sad that all teams are able to bring up poor refereeing decisions after most games it seems. I think it probably does mostly even out across all teams over the course of a season, so no one team can really complain but it seems sad the number of poor decisions there have been.

No surprise we have no representation at the World Cup then.

2.) 14 May 2018 22:22:38
Michael Oliver wasn't registered in time. It's not to do with quality.

Eds I have absolutely no clue really how to judge a keeper other than i notice when they're doing stuff badly. Everyone, including yourselves, seems to rave about allison being almost up there with david de gea though so i was wondering what makes hime so good? i've only seen a couple of youtube clips and one thing i noticed was that he seems to palm quite a lot of shots into the middle of the area?

Redman21

{Ed001's Note - positioning, agility, speed of coming off his line, dealing with crosses etc. All keepers palm the ball back out these days for some reason.}

lets just support the lad and see how he does. Klopps record of signing attacking players with us has been pretty good so give the lad a chance and see how he does, then comment.

^ really? i think thiago and isco are both really good players and they'd definitely improve us. Never going to happen obviously, and sure they have flaws (which players don't though) but they are better players than we have currently.

I don't get the whole Klopp can't do finals thing at all. Before Salah went off Madrid were struggling big time so the tactics weren't wrong and the players were up for it which is surely the managers job. Then the 1st and 3rd goals can't be blamed on Klopp, unless you maybe say he should've bought a better keeper - one thing I would say to that is that Karius is a good enough keeper to stop those goals, he just had a shocker (not saying that he's good enough long term cos i don't know about that but he's definitely good enough to stop those two goals) . The 2nd goal is just a worldie and I think everyone should just stand and applaud it. The game definitely wasn't a mismatch and Klopp is the right guy to take us forward 100%, so people need to stop saying things without properly thinking.

Also on a different note, Karius had a bit of a shocker but everyone needs to get behind him so that this doesn't affect him long term. He might not be the right goalkeeper for the club but he's still a good lad and doesn't deserve abuse cos he made some mistakes. This night could kill the guys career if people start abusing him and nobody should have to go through that. Maybe he isn't good enough for the highest level, I don't know, but he still deserves everyones respect, kindness and sympathy.
