Great striker of the ball, two good feet. Great mentality. Good dropping deep. Right age to lead the line in massive games. Captain and worker. If we got him at a good price due to inter's troubles it would be a great signing. If he gets the chances our other strikers get he will score goals. Much needed high level experience into the squad would be a bonus. Take the second leg against psg for example. Calmer heads in front of goal might have seen us win that game. After isak he is definitely the most sure fire bet when compared to the younger strikers mentioned. Maybe won't get massive numbers of goals but neither did Bobby. Salah needs someone in the middle again that doesn't need a second or third touch to see the picture.

It's been a long time from we had a 9 that bags goals. If salah leaves it may be the time for a 9 to take on the mantle of main goal scorer. Hard to see who replaces salah like for like but maybe it doesn't have to be someone on par. Maybe Salah's replacement is someone who compliments a goal getter number 9. I feel when salah leaves we need to concentrate on goals from the 9 position. Salah is a bit unique. Hard to get that right on the first go. The way slot plays a 9 goal getter will suit our play much better imo. Salah doesn't do a lot defensively on that side so we might have a better balance with a hard working right forward who let's bradely penetrate from deep positions and covers counter attacks if it breaks down. Not slating salah on that front btw. Obviously doesn't make sense having your main goal threat busting himself up and down the wing. Think we see a slight change in the way we play going forward under slot.

If osimhen were to get the love of the crowd nunez got he could be a force.

If isak isn't doable he's the next best choice to what's realistically available.

There's a part of me that thinks he might actually be the better fit.

There really isn't much between them I don't think. Isak definitely has more silk but osimhen's link up play is very underated though.

Both can be a little bit wasteful in front of goal at times but isak would be the one you would want it to fall to.

I think salah would gain more from osimhen but isak might gain more from salah.

With the money we have spent so far and need to spend further osimhen might be the most likely outcome.

He's a bit of a warrior and we don't really have that in our team so it would add a different dynamic for sure.

Just my thoughts as a counter batman.

What do we do if we sign two young gems and either konate or van dijk go out with a long term injury?

Fowler forbid if it was van dijk for I don't think konate is going to pull a young cub through the trenches week after week.

Guehi or someone of similar experience is a required buy to safeguard the backbone of a title winning team. Is he a world beater, probably not. But apart from being a pretty decent cb he also has experience. Lots of average and above footballers thrive in an environment where they are playing with players with a higher skill set. He's very good on the ball, in games where teams sit back it might be a big plus. That's a lot of games by the way.

We need a cb with decent experience in the door first. After that then we look at another addition in the mould your looking for. Huijsen was a bit of an anomaly and will most likely be world class ahead of schedule. He was always going to Madrid so there's nothing we could do about it.

He would have been the top pick no doubt.

I don't think there are too many more young ones like him out there ready to step in no fuss.

If gomez goes we will need two centre halves. To buy two young ones would be madness.

If konate is going this summer the problem becomes worse. But I think he stays this season no matter the outcome.

Guehi is just about to turn 25 so he's younger than van dijk when he signed. Even if it wasn't guehi, someone around that age makes sense.

Hato looks an exciting prospect no doubt. But if van dijk went down at some point could he step in to cb and keep the ship steady. Perhaps he could but he's a hybrid at the moment trying to find his true position. By all accounts he's very mature for his age also so there is that.

Personally I'd love guehi and hato both through the door but if it was only one between the two this summer I'd pick guehi.

It makes more sense as it covers more outcomes. If there was a guarantee van dijk played every game then hato could be a gamble worth going for.

But if Robertson and timy both go then maybe hato comes in anyway.

I think at this point we trust the transfer team. There's very much a long term planning aspect to this summers transfer window. After the thre signings we have made its a bit hard to throw mud at the window.

We can want what we want but the reality is always the leveller. I'm pretty sure we would jump at isak at 100 million and bastoni at 60 but the total for both could be way north of 200 million.

We have just signed a potential generational talent in wirtz. I'm more than happy to scale back a slight touch in other areas to bring him in.

The transfer window doesn't shut forever after this summer.

I'm already looking forward to watching us next season. And the feeling of positivity is much better that some seasons I've experienced.

All the challengers will get stronger. Next season sees slot go toe to toe with pep after pep has a full training camp.

Buckle up it's going to be a fun ride.

Ps. Arsenal finish second.

Just my thoughts at presant.

If konate doesn't sign an extension I'd keep him and let him run his contract down. If teams are only prepared to offer 25 million then I don't see the point.

Guehi coming in with konate staying gives us a chance to see how good he actually is in a top teir team. Internationals are hard to judge. If we were to pay 40 to 45 million for him I'm pretty sure we could get the same or more back if it doesn't work out.

It gives us a year to figure out a solution if we need to.

Guehi also solves an issue coming down the road in a few years. Alisson and van dijk won't be around forever and we need some experience in our back line going forward.

Whether guehi becomes a cemented starter or not he definitely adds experience and a professionalism to our backline as a whole unit.

We seem to be interested in a lot of young centre halves and with kerkez Bradley and frimpong already there I worry about the overall experience and a cool head commanding operations in the middle.

Of course van dijk may play another 3 to 4 years which would massively help matters.

Guehi at 35 to 40 million doesn't feel like too big a risk to me whether konate stays or goes. Preferably I'd have konate stay, be it for 1 more year or 4.

Guehi and Hato in together would be even better but for reasons mentioned above I can understand if the club want guehi now and are prepared to wait and take the gamble that hato is still available next year.

If konate does go I think both come in now.

Another point might be that guehi is only prepared to come in if konate is definitely going which makes most of the above pointless waffle. But maybe he also comes in after being told konate is only staying for another year.

Konate staying gives guehi time to find his feet and settle which is worth 25 million in my opinion.

On top of that a solid backline in the middle will help all the other new signings get up and running faster.

Him or Isak would definitely be top shelf buys.

Martinez a grade below. And a different type of forward.

Everyone else is a big gamble for the money being quoted.

Sesko could be another nunez.

Gyokeres is a flip of a coin for me as to whether he can replicate anywhere close to his form for sporting. I hope arsenal spend big on him because I think it would be a terrible team for him to go to. That could come back to bite me though.

Ekitike does not make the consistent decisions an 85 million player should be making from the limited amount of footage I have seen on him. Shoots from everywhere and impossible angles. Haven't watched a full games he's played so could be talking out my rear on that front.

I think osimhen and isak both are guaranteed to fit in and score 20 plus goals. While the rest could very well do the same I'm not so certain on them for the money being asked for.

God
Gerrard
Rush
Barnes
McManaman
Redknapp
Sissoko
Mane
Alisson
Bobby

Not a best list just my favourite players. The list would be different if I could include players before I started supporting. I would also have loved to have seen Barnes and Rush live in their prime.

On a side note I remember having a pleasant back and forth with Ed001 when we were going for a new keeper. I thought Oblak had a slight edge over Alisson. Ed was adamant that Alisson was the answer. Was never as glad to be wrong.
