What impact do you think the 5 subs will have on the PL?

More chances for young talents?
More timewasting?
Getting through the season with less injured players?

Who will it benefit and who will find it a disadvantage?

also, I´m curios to why we went for Ramsey. I have heard that he is a huge talent, and if so, then he should keep playing week in week out. With TTA, I doubt he will get much game time.

RedFuzz

{Ed025's Note - it will favour the sky big 6 RF as per usual. So not only will you get the big refereeing decisions but now you will have 5 top players to replace another 5 superstars in each game. Just like the tories the rich are getting richer and the poor getting poorer….but in football now..

1.) 18 Jun 2022 09:56:34
How could there be poor when all clubs across the division gets almost equal share of the TV rights compared to La liga or Spain. The amount of money Nottingham Forest could spend this year is more than what a top 4 club in Germany could.
Well it certainly doesn’t help when you spend £500 mill on dross and then blame it on FFP and 5 subs.

{Ed025's Note - Everton’s wasteful spending is a direct result of trying to play catch-up with the chosen ones TT. Stupid I agree but the gap between the have’s and have not’s is getting wider and clubs like us have panicked so as not to be left behind.
The sooner you and your privileged buddies piss off to the super league the better..

2.) 18 Jun 2022 10:14:28
Ed025 - I understand what you are saying and to a large extent I agree with you but I also understand the other argument that gets put forward (usually by one of the “big 6” who used to be the “big 4” not so long back) .

If you look at the PL fixtures for next April, clubs already have 6 fixtures in 30 days. If you have a team on for the quadruple or treble that are still in Europe and on for the FA Cup, who will have had matches rescheduled from Feb / March and who still need to play quarter / semi finals there just has to be a duty of care to look after player’s welfare.

{Ed025's Note - no doubt they will come up with a scheme where they allow you more money and extra players so the big 6 can continue their quest for world domination mate..

3.) 18 Jun 2022 10:28:02
It's rich people who know where to spend are getting rich mate!

4.) 18 Jun 2022 10:31:51
ffs ed025, there's a lot of bitterness in that reply.

{Ed025's Note - it’s not really bitterness vicar. …no your right mate it is ?..

5.) 18 Jun 2022 10:47:40
I actually disagree with you on this Ed025. I think it benefits all teams and if anything, more so those with less quality players. The main purpose of it is to reduce workload on players and reduce injuries. 3 of the hardest hit teams on that front last season were Leicester, Leeds and Burnley. Why? Because the depth in their squads isn't as strong as the big 6 and therefore being able to give their key players a rest is more vital to them.

I do get the argument that the big 6 have stronger benches, but also subs very rarely change the game because they're better quality than those on the pitch, otherwise they'd more than likely have started. They normally change the game due to a tactical switch, which again every team has equal opportunity to do.

Another thing is that the big 6 teams often have bigger squads because the extra European games allow them to keep more players happy. So surely extra subs will allow the teams outside of Europe to keep more players happy going forward and possibly expand on the size of their squads without needing the extra European games. Where the big 6 teams will benefit mostly will be in League games before a mid week European game, when they can rest a couple more players now. But that benefits them massively in Europe, not in the league (where they'd actually be taking a bigger risk of unsettling the rhythm of a game they're probably leading in) .

It will also most definitely help younger players trying to break into the team which again, benefits every team equally as all Premier League teams have good academies.

For me it's a step in the right direction and the main beneficiaries will be those with smaller squads whose season can fall apart off the back of 2 or 3 hamstring injuries; that were many times, avoidable if more subs were available. I think the league managers of the "smaller" teams were looking at it in the complete wrong way and actually cutting their nose off to spite their face. The big 6 have about 20-25 good players so 5 muscle injuries is manageable. The teams outside that 6 have about 12-15 good players so if they're hit by 5 muscle injuries they're in trouble.

I doubt i'll change you mind on this Ed025, as you've probably already convinced yourself this doesn't benefit Everton and that's okay. But in the interest of balance, i think it's important to have both sides of the coin on here. I think every team will be grateful for this change and i wouldn't mind betting there will still be games where Klopp and Pep don't even use all 5 subs ??‍♂️.

{Ed025's Note - I like to play devils advocate at times MK and put an alternative spin on things. You should know by now never to take me too seriously mate…after all I’m an evertonian..?

6.) 18 Jun 2022 10:48:32
A tad bitter Ed. Your team had the investment and clout but didn’t use it correctly, which is down to Everton more than anyone else. Players like Davy Klassen who were never good enough before they signed.

Under Moshri you could argue it was Everton’s richest period, but it wasn’t managed well at all, and you recruited complete crap.

{Ed025's Note - I can’t argue with that jonesey mate..

7.) 18 Jun 2022 11:28:34
I would have preferred the rule be the additional 2 substitutions be youth players or under a certain age to encourage giving youngsters a chance but still able to rest players. Win win for everyone that way but probably a bit naive.

8.) 18 Jun 2022 11:32:56
Noble idea LFCSTE29 but you'd find clubs only using 3 substitutions 99% of the time then.

{Ed002's Note - That approach is used elsewhere in Europe.}

9.) 18 Jun 2022 11:58:28
Anyone blaming Everton's awful spending on anything but incompetence needs to give their head a wobble. Who cares anyway, if some mad rich bloke hoses a tonne of his cash on sub par footballers. I find it funny since its not the reds anymore, but it was once. Ruddock, Thomas, Dicks, Clough Stewart etc etc.

As for the 5 sub rule, well if they reduced the leaguer size by one or two teams it would make things easier on the players . This new rule will give youth more of a chance and avoid injury, which can only ever be a good thing for all.

It os common knowledge that playing in the EPL will take its toll more than in other leagues . Look at Bobby, he should be in his prime now, but the poor lad has been flogged to death.

10.) 18 Jun 2022 12:01:57
MK, I completely agree. Why push players so hard? If you want elite performances from elite players, then learn how to honour the physicality and limitations .

11.) 18 Jun 2022 11:40:02
Disagree there Ed025. Football has never been a level playing field. But England compared to other regions are in far better shape.
There is hardly any “Have not’s”. Aston Villa have made two good signings (one is Coutinho) . Do you place them in the Privilege class?
Every owners are rich in England. Period.
If the top 6 joins super league the remaining will have another new top 6. It’s as simple as that.
Liverpool were rotten ten years ago struggling to attract both players and sponsorships.
The club never got any privileges.

{Ed025's Note - their history gives them privileges TT and I suppose that’s fair enough. But don’t try to convince me that skys darling 6 don’t get preferential treatment mate..

12.) 18 Jun 2022 12:11:56
Adding a condition that two or three of the five subs are limited to u21s would do the game good all round.

13.) 18 Jun 2022 12:19:40
I really like this idea LFCSTE29.

14.) 18 Jun 2022 12:20:50
I think the benefits are across the board . 2,3 or 5 subs the richer teams always going to have a better players to come on. It just means less unrest and headaches for managers with injuries/ bans and keeping players fresh and happy with game time.

15.) 18 Jun 2022 12:29:17
History doesn’t give any privileges. Success certainly does and that comes of hard work and excellent planning.
By your logic City shouldn’t get any preference. They don’t have a rich history like UTD and LFC.
“You only throw stones at a tree where there are apples” ?? you don’t throw on an empty tree. Do you.

16.) 18 Jun 2022 15:02:20
Harry would you mind if I asked where you’re from? You have some of the most interesting turns of phrase. I’m going to guess Turkey.

17.) 18 Jun 2022 15:19:14
I think there are two sides to this 5 subs rule though. How often do Man City and Liverpool score late on due to battering teams into submission for 70 mins. This allows the teams that park the bus to bring on players of a similar standard to the ones on the pitch with fresh legs to help see out the game.

18.) 18 Jun 2022 18:22:40
Yep the teams outside the "top 6" can waste even more time now w 2 extra subs.

19.) 18 Jun 2022 21:25:06
More subs will benefit the big teams because they will keep and buy more and better players. Take a guy like Minamino. It's terrible for football overall that he is on Liverpool, lingering on the bench. The guy could be starring for a mediocre team, and would make a bunch of teams more competitive while being a nailed-on first choice.

The way the world works now, the big teams get to collect players like him for their cup games and benches. If the talent were more spread out, the league would be a lot more competitive.

I like the five subs rule! But I would also prefer to see the game evolve financially so that there's more turnover between good and bad teams. As a Liverpool supporter, thinking selfishly, I like things the way they are. But overall I would prefer to play in a league that wasn't loaded with teams that have no chance while players who could be helping them are stuck as bit players on great teams.

20.) 19 Jun 2022 05:19:14
@Transition_Time “History doesn’t give any privileges” …… Have you heard of the British Royal Family? As a very small example, when Prince Charles was born he automatically became the owner of Cornwall and then when he was 18 he was made the Prince of Wales. Not sure if anybody asked the people of Cornwall or Wales for their thoughts on the matter.

21.) 18 Jun 2022 12:52:01
Football might never have been a level playing field but "Back in the day" the likes of Villa and even Ipswich could be at the top of the table after Christmas and sometimes even won the league, a good manager and a good player could change the table over a season. Unless some billionaire buys a lower league team we will never see those days again.
Unfortunately Ed 25 I agree with you here.

PS what LFCSTE29 said is a really great idea.

22.) 18 Jun 2022 15:15:33
Ed25 surly 5 subs would suit Everton as after you’ve dived and hacked your way to 5 bookings in the first 60 minutes you can replace them and continue to boot anything that moves whilst avoiding 2nd yellow cards and subsequent bans ??.

23.) 18 Jun 2022 20:23:52
Ed0025 I think the 5 sub rule plays into Everton’s hands mate. It gives the manager 2 more extra opportunities to sub off the rubbish Pickford and Richarlison every week ?.

24.) 19 Jun 2022 09:07:38
Ed25 think you’ll find there’s a Big 1 (was 2 but Chelsea may not be same going forward) . Might go Big 2 if Newcastle get act together. Then there’s ManU due to revenue and debt. Then there’s Liverpool and Chelsea. Then Arsenal and Spurs.

Big 6 just doesn’t sum it up anymore. And I’m not sure the rich (ManCity and Newcastle) can get any richer ?.

{Ed025's Note - you are right up there with them 1jj. Your 5 over £70m players tells us that mate. But if you like I will start a go fund page for LFC and we can all throw a knicker in .. ?

25.) 19 Jun 2022 11:22:31
Just a wondering for ed 25 regards favouring the top sides but would it not give a chance to a few youngsters to get some game time?
A few gems for the lower placed teams might get the opportunity to shine when they might not have got the chance before hand.

{Ed025's Note - if it did I would be happy UN. But you and me are in the real world mate and we know it will be taken advantage of by the have’s..

Hi edds

Could Barcelonas Riqui Puig be a part of a transfer for either wijnaldum or mane?

Thanks for the hard work.

RedFuzz

{Ed002's Note - No he won't be, sorry.}

1.) 06 Sep 2020 15:07:47
wondered what people thought of the 15mill for gini rumour, as we see newcastle paying 20 odd mill for wilson (as a example) , same age etc IMO no where near the same class?

2.) 06 Sep 2020 15:12:15
If Barcelona are so desperate to get Gini, let's do a cash plus player, someone who is good at theiacademuca.

3.) 06 Sep 2020 19:48:18
Guys, we have no bargaining chips available for Gini, either we accept what someone will pay, or we keep him and lose him for free at the end of the season. It's happened plenty of times before, it's apparently happening with Thiago at the European champions, we have to accept it.

4.) 07 Sep 2020 09:56:12
Villa was also in for Wilson so I guess the demand bumped up the price, of course someone else could come in for Gini but I doubt they will have a chance . it's Barcelona, he would be also working with the Dutch National Coach at the same time and I guess he gets a pay rise. Love seeing Gini step out for the Reds and will miss him, all the best Gini and THANK YOU for those 2 goals against Barca!

What happened to the team page? I enjoyed reading about Harrys flavour of the month player, I really did.

Anyway if you could pick 3 players to play for LFC next season, who would it be? (that would be players within our reach)

Winger: Daniel Caliguiri
RB: Ricardo Pereira
Coutinho replacement: Nabil Fekir.

RedFuzz

1.) 16 May 2018 16:29:18
Fekir
Ceballos (based on what ed has said about him and our interest)
Benjamin Heinrichs (Bayer Leverkusen RB)

2.) 16 May 2018 16:48:54
I think we need a LB more urgently than a RB. TAA's only proven position at the moment is RB, and we have Gomez and Clyne as decent back up. At LB we don't have any decent back up to Robbo. TAA may become an excellent midfielder but he will have Keita, Ox, Hendo and others to complete with.

We need someone to challenge Lovren for the first team. Surely Gomez cannot be relied upon until he's been tested at CB for numerous games.

We need a Can replacement as back up for Hendo.

And someone to challenge Ox for the third midfield position but also with versatility to be able to play up front.

I think all four of above are more critical than RB and GK.

3.) 16 May 2018 17:01:01
I don’t want to buy backups.

I’d rather buy players to improve the current 1st 11, and use the players they replace as ‘backups’.

And/ or use our academy players to backup (or backup the backups! ) otherwise how will we know if they are ready to step up - like TAA (who was himself a backup last season.

4.) 16 May 2018 17:06:30
Still trying to work out why we need a coutinho replacement, aren't we a better team without him? or is that term a new on pitch position like right back or goalkeeper?

5.) 16 May 2018 17:16:44
Cb and couts replacement for me. karius can get another season unless replaced by top quality like an oblak.

I would try and tempt dembele who is not signing a new contract at spurs too. If not him i would go for seri who would be an excellent partner for keita.

Cb i would go for someone tough like koubilay and couts replacement ideally fekir or malcolm.

But likely we will get none of the above.

6.) 16 May 2018 17:41:06
Johnny, ita not about replacing couts like for like. Its about replacing the versaility he bought to the side. We need someone who can cpme into the attack if we need to rest one of them and still be as effective. And someone who can play behind in midfield and create against the more defensive teams. So yes its not about him just about the roles he filled.

7.) 16 May 2018 17:41:39
Apparently every team needs a Coutinho replacement, Jonny.

I think it’s in the Premier League Charter, or something like that!

8.) 16 May 2018 18:13:50
I understand the questioning of buying backup players.
If we were to buy a winger, surely they would know their chances would be limited. Would a Pulisic or a Dembele (barca) want to join us to sit on the bench? Caliguiri is at the end of his career, he fits with our playing style, and he would be joining a title challenging team. I still believe Wilson would benefit from another prml loan.

Our current midfield, Henderson, Milner, Lallana, Wijnaldum, Chamberlain and Can are all players that possess similar traits (bar Chamberlain) . The coutinho replacement were to add something else, more creativity/ directness. At the moment our midfield looks lost when playing a stubborn defence, and perhaps a Fekir could help us in this department.

9.) 16 May 2018 18:24:26
That's my point, RedFuzz. I don't want us to buy ANY player who is happy to sit on the bench.

Pulisic isn't coming to sit on bench at any team, he will join someone (hopefully us) to be in the First 11. If that means he displaces someone else in the First 11 (even if we regard that player as 'untouchable') then great! We've just improved our First 11, even in an area (potentially) where we didn't think we could.

Those players who only join (or stay? ) if they are guaranteed a certain number of games are players, no matter how good they are, who I (and I believe Klopp) don't want in the squad. Give me someone like Ox anyday as he is prepared to fight for a place and has the confidence and ability to get it!

Interesting listening to some debate on, I think, the Monday Night Club on 5-live earlier this week (Monday, I think it was, lol) saying that one of Pep's greatest achievements is keeping so many players happy at Citeh. Even the subs and those outside the 18 were happy to be part of the team and the journey. That's what I think, and hope, Klopp is building here. Combine great team spirit with energy, great ability and add a pinch of 'Klopp' and we can look forward to many successes to come :)

21 Sep 2016 16:22:09
At the moment we look really impresive, and I think it´s down to a couple of things

1. Tactics and player improvement. I remember Klopp complaining about not having enough time last season, to implement his tactics or getting the best out of the individual. At the moment Hendo and Lallana has improved quite a lot, both have been given new roles, and both have adapted and shown some of their best displays. Lovren and Milner has also stepped up! A thing I´ve also noticed, is that fluidity of the game has changed a lot, it seems like there´s more movement, players have a better understanding of each other, knowing where they will be in each phase of the game.

2. New signings. It´s early days, but at the moment it seems like Klopp has bought the players that were needed. Players like Matip and Mane has been superb for us. Matip seems like one of the best Cb we have had for years, so calm, and able to drive forward, but also know when to defend. Mane has just been a gamechanger. I still see some criticizing Wijnaldum, calling him a passenger. The fact is that he is also getting used to a new position, and from what I´ve seen, he is progressing.

3. Squad. At the moment I believe we have one of the best squads for years, and one of the best in the EPL. Remember when we had Suarez, and he got banned? I remember these pages went into meltdown, because we were so reliant on him. Everyone just played better when he was in the team. At the moment, anyone of our players could get injured, and it wouldn´t be a big deal (RB, LB might be an issue) . 7 players have shared 11 goals this season (4 players have scored 2, and 3 have scored 1), showing that we aren´t reliant on a single player to score for us.

At the moment there´s certainly a lot more positives than negatives, but the question is, can we keep this up?

RedFuzz

1.) 21 Sep 2016 17:52:10
Broadly agree but I think we're playing well thanks to

1) good defensive base with Matip, Lovren and hopefully Karius soon
2) Midfield with blend of plenty of energy and creativity, and Hendo performing well in his new role as a deeper midfielder. have to admit Klopp has me on this one as I would have gone for Can, Hendo and Coutinho but current setup working well
2) biggest change is a forward line that really clicks. Firmino and Mane in particular transform the side

But this team is so much more than the sum of its parts. the key is each of these working together and a real style of play that actually fits. No Benteke without wingers to provide service, or attacking midfield with no pace, or defensive midfield with no positional sense or physical presence/ height etc. etc.

2.) 21 Sep 2016 19:30:08
You can distill the improvement in the side even more. The manager: everything great about what is going on at LFC is down to Jurgen.

He has got the coaching staff sorted the first team said largdly sorted though still a work in progress and the owners and fans on board,

It's bloody brilliant really.

3.) 22 Sep 2016 01:17:32
I have noticed the co-ordination of runs beyond the ball has got a lot better.

Players go into the box one by one rather than all at once or not at all. Makes for lots of chance-making opportunities and even stubborn defences are struggling with it.

Hope i don't eat my words after Hull.

4.) 22 Sep 2016 11:41:53
I think Wijnaldum isn't getting enough credit. New position, new team. Able to work his way out of tight situations and seems to always pick the right pass, and I think it's a matter of time before he starts getting on the scoresheet. definitely an upgrade on Allen or Lucas for me.

15 Jan 2016 12:42:56
The Sturridge debate:
Is sturridge the best striker in the league when fit? probably. Should we get rid off him? I think so.

his body is clearly not up for the job and it shows as he has missed more games than he has played. You might argue that he is a gamechanger in the few games that he plays, but he is also taking up a slot in the squad, which means we won´t buy another striker. So would you rather have a sturridge playing the few odd games a year or get another striker who possibly could contribute for an entire season? I´ve got no hate towards Sturridge, but I also think it would be in his interest to get away from football. I know how frustrating it is to be injured and not being able to play footy.

I also think a lot of people are being to harsh on Migs. Yes he makes mistakes, but you have to put this into perspective. Remember Lovren in the BR era, he looked like a league 2 player. Fast forward and he is one of our best defenders (player of the month in december) . What happened? Klopp. When was the last time we had a decent keeper? Reina, and his decline started when Achterberg was assigned. Some of the peeps on this site also says that his warm ups are a joke. I´m not saying that Migs will be a top keeper if we signed a decent GK coach, but it certainly wouldn´t do any harm.

RedFuzz

{Ed023's Note - I'd give him until the Summer of 2017 to prove himself - he is still young. I know wages are the problem and I would understand if the club sell this summer but just my opinion.}

1.) 15 Jan 2016 13:22:45
I'm beginning to think maybe half of Sturridge's problem is mental. I think he thinks he will get injured and therefore notices every little tweak or bit of pain. Klopp might have been right about him having to realise the difference between being injured and merely playing when in a bit of discomfort.
I used to play rugby union and I honestly don't think I ever played a game where I could say I was fully fit. I certainly wouldn't have said I was injured but I was aching or hurting somewhere, you just get on with it.
I'd sell him how can he be earning the wage he is and yet in one and half seasons he's played about 12 games. If we keep him I'd say it's a pay as you play deal.

2.) 15 Jan 2016 13:35:44
Mignolet was bog standard at Sunderland as well. Our transfer comittee signed him based on stats (he made more saves than any other keeper in the league in his last season) but they failed to relaise his stats only looked good because Sunderland had a shocking defence so he was forced into being more active than most keepers.

His concentration levels are poor though so at a team where he is brought into to action less frequently he is struggling to react when he's called upon. Sunderland were also so poor that teams could just carve straight through them rather than needed to get the ball out wide and put balls into the box. So now teams are doing that against him we're seeing just how poor he is at dealing with crosses. He has always been dodgy from set pieces though, he's never been any good at distribution, I still don't remember him ever making a save with his feet and he is so quiet its a joke. He makes no effort to organise his defence and doesn't call for the ball when he does come to claim it which is why he is forever getting blocked off by his own players and why he nearly punched Toures head off on Wednesday.

Do not try and defend the indefensible. He is the worst first choice keeper in the clubs history and wouldn't play for any other team in the league.

On Sturridge, I agree partially. We should move him on and invest in a more reliable striker of equal or better quality, however he shouldn't give up on his career in football. If I were him I'd go to Italy or Spain where the fixtures are more spaced out and the tempo is much slower. He is still a world class player when fit but he is never going to be fit in English football because it is too extreme on the bodies of the players and particularly under Klopp, he will not be able to play more than once every 7-10 days. He is wasting his career here. He is almost certain to miss the European Championships. Vardy, Kane, Rooney, Carroll, Defoe, Bolasie, Sterling, Walcott etc are all well ahead of him in the pecking order purely because they're fit and scoring goals.

He either needs his training regime adapted to change him as a player (ie. bulk him up and sacrifice his explosive pace for more durability and strength) or he needs to go to another league where he can play less frequently in less physically demanding matches. If he opts to change his game (like Torres and Owen did) in order to play more regualarly he risks losing his quality as a player though, so for his sake he should go abroad.

3.) 15 Jan 2016 13:40:58
I'd be tempted to wait til he is fit, in the sense that he has no injuries. Then send him home for 2 weeks, with light yoga style exercises to do. Improve his flexibility and his core strength, improve the strength of all the smaller muscles in his leg (I had a problem with my knees when younger and this helped me) . Maybe look to get him back for the final Months of the season if we have some finals or big games to look forward too. Don't push him now, I doub he will prove his fitness enough to go to the euros, then next season ease him in, and if like ed said, he's not fit by the summer of 2017, sell him.

4.) 15 Jan 2016 13:46:40
I think it will be very difficult to buy a player of equal or better standard than Sturridge, for the transfer fee that Liverpool might get for him.

5.) 15 Jan 2016 13:58:03
Would not mind Aubameyang if he want to come? He should be more than capable replacement for sturridge.

6.) 15 Jan 2016 14:11:51
Although I agree there has to be time when we decide to go another way I think we're still a long way of that. If he's injured no one will buy him so we're paying his wages regardless. I'd say the decision point is this summer, if there's a suggestion that he won't contribute next year then we have to look for a new player to build around.

I think to expect anything substantial from Sturridge at any point of this season is asking for trouble, even though he is taking up a valuable roster space on the team. I think this season will end up being a write-off for him. I'm reminded of Van Persie who spent the good part of 2-3 years, with Arsenal, continuously going back and forth between the field and the injured list. And then when he left, he was able to stay relatively healthy for the better part of the next few years. I think Sturridge's case will probably turn out to be something similar. So the question that arises is, even though his purchase price was comparatively lower, do you continue paying his wages for the next 6-12 months, and then when he has fully recovered, you are closer to the end of his contract and he decides to move on to greener pastures? I'd much rather put more emphasis on undoing some of BR's transfer mistakes (ie. Benteke) . In an ideal world, Benteke would be sold off in the summer, Lacazette would be brought in, Ings and Origi would continue their progress and anything positive from Sturridge would just be a bonus, to spur the team forward and upwards.

Completely agree Irish Rover. Can't see us getting a huge fee for him when he can't stay fit. I think we hope he can eventually come back this year and last through the remainder of the season and next year.

Bolasie is from Congo Ems.

10.) 15 Jan 2016 16:01:37
Bolasie is from the Congo, Carroll scored 2 or 3 times and is now out again for months, Sterling and Walcott are both considered wingers for England and Defoe has been retired by the England management, just like Lambert. Lad has enough problems without over-egging them!

11.) 15 Jan 2016 16:41:22
I still have yet to see anyone who thinks we should sell Sturridge come up with a reasonable suggestion of who exactly we could sell him to? About the only teams that could afford his wages are Arsenal, United, City, PSG, Bayern, Real, and Barca. Considering he's pretty unlikely to want to leave for less money than he's already guaranteed through 2019, who exactly from the above would buy him?

12.) 15 Jan 2016 17:44:03
Sturridge goes if fit imo.

13.) 15 Jan 2016 18:39:24
Kloppo is being very sensible with Sturridge.
He is looking for a long term solution and a fit Sturridge could be perfect.
Kloppo is giving Sturridge every chance to prove himself. He may not play again this season, but Kloppo is putting him through his paces in training and if he can cope he will be back with a bang.

Don't expect much from Sturridge this season by it is too early to consider selling him. Without a Champions league we won't get anyone better.

Talking about dm's, can ed002 tell us if Liverpool have shown interest in Ellyes Skhiri of cologne?

RedFuzz

{Ed002's Note - No - it is just another random name.}

I don´t get how LFC do their transfers. They haggle for a couple of month for a player (a question of a couple of mill? ) yet they have no problem paying way over the odds for Mane?

Michael olise, patrick wimmer, Nico Williams could be potential replacements - it will be difficult to replace salah. Though I Hope doak will get a chance to get this spot.

Ed001, what do you think will happen with Elliott?

RedFuzz

{Ed001's Note - I wouldn't consider any of those as good enough to replace Salah. I expect Elliott to develop into a midfielder.}

You just got rid of Richarlison, but he was also a true gentleman. Best south american player for lfc has to be suarez. But if i was asked who I would rather have in my team, then I would pick allison over suarez.

RedFuzz

{Ed025's Note - im surprised bobby has not been mentioned before the vampire RF, but i must say Allison has been top notch mate..

We might not need a similar player to salah, as we might change the formation. We will probably see less goals from the wing and more from the AM and striker position. I would go with paqueta. He is an AM by trade, but can play Any position from midfield and forward. He is similar to firmino.
