How would everyone feel about this window:

Out
Lonergan
Kelleher (loan)
Grabara (loan)
Karius
Larouci
Lewis (loan)
Clyne
Lovren
Shaqiri
Lallana
Grujic
Brewster (Loan)
Wilson
Ojo
Philips (loan)
Awonyi
Woodburn (loan)

In
Malang Sarr (contract )
Coutinho (Loan with option to purchase)
Thiago

I think it's both really and affordable and improves out starting 11 and bench, whilst not blocking too many paths for our very good young players

How does it look Ed?

Raz.

Spot on but I’d sell the guys you want to loan and add Gini and Milner to the list. Only keep Brewster.

2.) 18 Jul 2020 15:45:18
Clyne is already gone. Looking at the first team on the official site i'd predict as below.

Staying: (24 players)

GK: Alisson, Adrian, Kelleher

DEF:
Arnold, Williams, Hoever, Matip, Virgil, Gomez, Berg, Robbo

MID: Henderson, Chamberlain, Fabinho, Milner, Jones, Elliott, Wijnaldum, Keita

FWD: Salah, Firmino, Minamino, Mane, Origi, Brewster

Leaving: (12 players)

GK: Lonergan, Grabara, Karius

DEF: Lovren, Phillips

MID: Lallana, Grujic, Wilson, Ojo, Shaqiri

FWD: Awoniyi, Woodburn

Of those I predict will leave only Lovren, Lallana and Shaqiri saw any real game time so we could probably supplement their losses with youth pretty easily. Maybe just the 1st choice centre back Klopp wants. Thiago signing would surely mean Gini and/ or Keita are on the move. Who knows who we will sign and who we might lose who Klopp plans to keep right now. Interesting discussion though. Coutinho and Sarr don't exactly fill me with joy though.

2 more for the list who are not good enough, the kid from Columbia Arroyo and I’m afraid it’s time for Origi to go too. Never been good enough but scored a goal in the CL final and he’s treated like Marco van basten on here!

4.) 18 Jul 2020 16:23:22
But for Origi we wouldn’t have been in the champions league final. He’s a hero and he’s happy being a support players.

5.) 18 Jul 2020 17:18:57
I can’t understand why anyone would want to get Coutinho? He left, in dubious circumstances, failed at Barca, failed at Bayern, we were better without him

Best spend what money we have on players that want to play for us and add something extra to the team that we don’t have.

I don’t think Coutinho is that player.

6.) 18 Jul 2020 18:43:42
Don't give up on Ben Woodburn yet. There's a cracking player in there somewhere.

{Ed025's Note - give up on him EP, mediocrity personified and i know he is only young but hardly a wayne rooney mate..

7.) 18 Jul 2020 19:26:10
You might be right Ed025. When he was 16/ 17, he looked very promising. Maybe it got to his head. I'd just like us to give him a final crack at it.

I've heard from people "in the know" that he was rated higher than Owen was. Maybe it's just attitude, or maybe the lad will just grow up and work hard to fulfil his potential.

{Ed025's Note - i love to see youngsters coming through for any team EP, but you can usually tell the special ones very early, and i dont see him in that bracket mate..

8.) 19 Jul 2020 10:03:58
Klopp wants Divvy to stay and Origi wants to stay so he is staying so people should stop trying to push the player out to fulfill their lust for signing shiny new toys which by the way, we have no money to afford.

For Back up Goalkeeper I would go for Asmir Begovic . Home-grown, Premier league quality, Experience of being backup from his time at Chelsea and available. ticks all the boxes.

1.) 31 May 2019 10:20:34
I sincerely hope not. I'd rather have Alisson's dad.

2.) 31 May 2019 11:08:34
Allison’s Dad? You mean Beverley?

3.) 31 May 2019 11:09:13
I'd take Adrian.

4.) 31 May 2019 14:06:35
Wouldn't mind Adrian nor Begovic.

5.) 31 May 2019 15:08:57
Agreed redwolf. Highly doubtful that Allison will get injured, the keeper we bring in will have a very small role to play. If he can help out with the young uns and is also HG then it's a bonus but doesn't really matter either way. Begovic a good shout but would love reina back in Liverpool too.

6.) 31 May 2019 15:45:08
I think the more likely one, that I think Ed002 has mentioned as well, is David Marshall.

7.) 31 May 2019 19:28:52
In regard to my previous post. Allison's dad was a goalkeeper, as was his mother I think.

8.) 31 May 2019 21:49:46
Beverley and Hugh, like I said 😉.

Hi Ed, you said above you had been told There is no natural RB in the U23s who can step up. But what about Ki-Jana Hoever? is he just not seen as ready yet, or is it because RB isn't his natural position?

I know he is only 17, but from what I've seen / read he looks a real talent!

Razor14

{Ed002's Note - He is a child so cannot train as long as the adults; he is not a RB and he is not ready for the first team. His time will come.}

Does he not already have a work permit? IF not how has he made 14 previous appearances for us?

Razor14

{Ed002's Note - He left the country to play elsewhere and will need a new one.}

Sorry Ed, but wouldn't Origi, Brewster, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Woodburn already be registered in the squad? so it would be a case of 1 out 1 / 2 in?
and that's without taking into consideration any other departures. (Lallana for example)

Razor14

{Ed002's Note - You cannot keep adding overage players like Wilson without space being made.}

Yes sorry, I was including Origi.

If Origi stays then it is only Sturridge's 24 appearances and 4 goals that need replacing.

Surely between Origi, Brewster, Oxlade-Chamberlain, and as someone mentioned, an attacking midfielder ala Brandt could fill that void? that's without Woodburn and a returning Wilson!

Razor14

{Ed002's Note - There is insufficient space in the squad for all of that.}

They have made a combined 40 appearances and scored 7 goals this season.

Also Worth noting that 40 would be higher if we had progressed in both / either cup competitions.

Razor14

{Ed002's Note - I am surprised Sturridge and Ings have played so often.}
