Hi Ed02 - do you know if any truth in reports that we may look to sign Kamada from E Frankfurt who's out of contract?

Seems plausible rumour if Carvalho seen as surplus to requirements. Hard working and scores and creates.

Thanks as ever for your work on this site.

{Ed002's Note - He has agreed a move elsewhere.}

Assume that’s AC Milan - had read something saying we may try last minute ‘hijack’ - so just wondered if anything actually had come to light very recently! Thanks again.

First time i've posted with some info, work in Soton area and i know VVD trained with the first team today. Don't know if that means anything. Hope not!

When you get ready to sell your car, you've got to top up the oil and keep it running.

2.) 10 Aug 2017 16:08:37
Would be helpful if you said how you knew? Still I wouldn't read too much into it. He is still a Southampton player after all.

3.) 10 Aug 2017 16:17:31
Think if this was true it would of broke into the news pretty much instantly.

4.) 10 Aug 2017 16:33:33
, came directly from someone at the ground about an hour ago now. Not being deliberately vague, guy who told me was there for work. Bit of a non-story as doesn't mean anything but it is true, the quote was 'olive branch' had been extended but didn't say which way!

5.) 10 Aug 2017 17:52:23
I knew he'd cave in during World Cup year 🤓.

6.) 10 Aug 2017 20:53:18
I think if he did train with the first team with everything that's gone on and been said it would be all over the news by now dude.

7.) 11 Aug 2017 00:05:05
100% he trained with 1st team, dunno how quickly that would come out in the news - mate was at training ground, taking photos with Forster, Davis, Bertrand and I think hesketh, saints will announce a new partnership deal tomorrow afternoon, due at 1pm - romeu disrupted Photoshoot by pulling up in his rangey and honking his horn - not made this up! It doesn't confirm anything and makes sense he still trains but passing on because got the info and know its absolutely true.

Hi Eds, any idea what might happen goalkeeper wise in the summer? Do you think Tom Heaton may be on the radar?

Thanks for the top work you do for the site.

REDDERS15

{Ed001's Note - far too soon for this mate, but I very much doubt Heaton will be joining as things stand.}

1.) 03 Feb 2017 20:44:58
Ed001, any chance you think the club will try move on Mignolet?

{Ed001's Note - it is more a case of whether or not he asks to leave.}

2.) 03 Feb 2017 20:53:50
Then we are stuck with him.

{Ed001's Note - it is far too early to be sure on that front. He certainly will not stay if he is not first choice.}

3.) 03 Feb 2017 20:58:04
Strange though as Mignolet is still no 1. If we wanted it to go that far then surely Klopp should have kept faith with Karius and in return frustrated Mignolet.

Not like Karius was doing worse than Mignolet. Very confused.

4.) 03 Feb 2017 21:36:53
I guess the hope is karius settles - it is still early for him, I hope he does but just wondered I f top of to do list as no team has won the league without a decent keeper!

5.) 03 Feb 2017 21:30:51
To be honest id love to see Karius been given another chance, like you say max he doesn't do worse then migs so bang him on. I really have high hopes for the lad.

6.) 04 Feb 2017 03:46:48
I agree, Karius needed to be taken out the firing line but he's no worse than Migs and has potential to be a lot better. Migs is a decent keeper but hasn't taken his many chances to prove he can keep goal for a consistent period of time without making regular mistakes.

7.) 04 Feb 2017 10:25:05
The whole goalkeeping situation is very confused. And it has done damage to our season.

I'm a huge fan of Klopp, but every manager makes mistakes. He has blundered on this front.

8.) 04 Feb 2017 19:11:49
I disagree here. Karius was the one Klopp wanted and rightly so as Migs had screwed up immensely since he's been here. When Karius was struggling, many fans were on his back and literally waiting for him to fail or make a mistake (as if no GK had ever made one before) and with the media on his back too, Klopp had to take a stand and drop him.

Migs (a known quantity for clangers) was brought back in cos many on here had forgotten for some strange reason, how inconsistent hed beenall cos, "Karius is losing us the PL" nonsense.

Now, the Migs we've all known and loved, is haunting us again and now, people want Karius back in. Strange, right? Karius is clearly talented as we wouldn't have had a chance in the EFL second leg had it not been his heroics in the first leg vs Saints. He made no mistakes and was MOTM in the first leg. Migs is who he is and that won't ever change so I'm not surprised that he's dropping clangers again. It's what he does.

9.) 04 Feb 2017 23:22:42
Few weeks ago someone said 'Migs is finally becoming the keeper we've wanted'.

I responded saying "he always does this, a couple of good games then he basically throws one in the nets".

True to form, Migs is back.

10.) 05 Feb 2017 08:26:14
We should keep faith with Karius or make an offer to see if Joe Hart is available in the summer. Confidence is low on all fronts I think also probably energy levels dude to the intensity we started the season at.

11.) 05 Feb 2017 23:03:18
Joe Hart is definitely not the answer.

Agree, really want to see Robertson play more - mom on debut in a position we don't know who our best is. Milner agreed to play there for the season but it was known he doesn't want to play defence. Assume that's why he's not featured there. Love Moreno as shows he wants to Play for us when I watch him I'm always hoping he'll be good but again he's not got goal side and not stopped an important goal and also against hoffenheimn 2nd leg the goal from his side he could have easily defended if he was simply aware of who was around him - winning games is more important and he does not seem able to change that aspect of his game, so frustrating.

Had a great game against Hoff and end of season but was woeful against Watford, he has had good spells before but he is still simply not a top top keeper. I don't like to get at players but he has played for us for long enough to see that won't change based on so many performances, he still looks a mess coming for crosses and coming out of goal. I really can't imagine him being in a league winning team, I would say at least half the team's in the prem have better keepers. I hate to say cos he seems to love the club and be a good guy but i really can't wait til we get a decent keeper, I hope ward is that man as karius, although young I personally think he's not shown signs that he is.

Without a doubt Ward should get a chance - not just reacting after another shaky migs performance but both migs and karius have made several mistakes and too often have looked unconvincing. When Ward did get a game, he came out his box quickly and looked commanding and made an worldie save that went viral - he took his chance and i really hope he gets more game time and soon. It made sense to start migs at watford as had a strong end to season but again under performed so give Ward should get a game and migs couldn't really complain. I predict Ward cements no. 1 spot by end of season.

Sakho's passing ability really does split opinion. It's either calamitous or he's seen as a great passer, seems to be no in between.

I work with a couple of arsenal fans who are very much in the calamitous camp and often bring up his frailties in possession and generally don't rate him at all. I can recall many times he has misplaced passes and given cause for concern. Then some days he is incredible in the air and he's an absolute rock, most fans seem to really like him. But he does try to ping hollywood balls to often for me and don't really come off.

So, is he brilliant or a donkey? Be interested to try and gauge opinion further! Thoughts?

Both Flanno and Clyne start for me - left or right, both seem comfortable either side so reckon klopp will come to sensible decision as to which one plays 'out of position'

Assuming Matip will start, Sakho currently but Lovren is starting to look more the player we thought we were getting after a shockingly shaky start. Sakho is a monster in the air but needs to be alongside a decent ball playing defender imo, - mama 's passing is woeful at times.

If we can land a top CB then could let Skrtel go but would be happy to keep him as competition for that spot - he's a long serving player and think gets harsh criticism from some, he puts his body on the line and fights for the team

kolo to go - gomez is extra cover for CB - illori if we/ he decide to remain

1st choice Keeper would be Butland for me, think we'd be sorted for a good decade - but if we can do shrewed business in germany then may be one of the highly rated keepers may do the job at fraction of cost, not that familiar with their work if I'm honest tho - we MUST get decent keeper as will help whole defence

We may well bring in a LB (if moreno left) but wouldn't be disappointed if didn't with moreno, gomez and smith as options - saying that if clyne or flanno start ahead of them on the left

Would like to keep markovic and hope he would get more game time in rotation when resting cou, firm&lall- didn't get a fair crack before and for me, easily shows more promise than Ibe, i know Ibe is young but don't think he's good enough for us, although not sure I'm in the majority in thinking that, watched games where he's raved over because he runs at players but don't see him doing much more than that, no end product, has had game time and chipped in with no league goals and 2 assists from the wing, skrtel has been generally more prolific! would be interested to hear from Ibe fans

Finally, 100% Lallana to stay, hope he now gets support from the fans rather than the bashing he seems to have been taking, been unlikely with injuries and not getting a run in the team and you can tell his confidence been low which is a huge factor - but he's a player who can on his day run a game, he did for southampton and provided many goals and assists and work rate is exactly what kloppp demands - he's another match winner along side cou and firmino and think those 3 capable of terrorising any defence

keep studge, think klopp likes origi and based on that will like ings - its what to do with big ben, just not sure he can physically adapt to play like one of those 3 - not a bad unit to bring on if chasing a game and want to revert to whipping in a few crosses but a very expensive one, if we can re-coup a good chunk of cash then be great to add a Top top striker - but not sure who best most realistic target is - reckon klopp may have an idea and let's hope he may be able to tempt previously unattainable big fish. Reus would be very welcome, someone of that ilk!
