Hi eds, I used the search but there is nothing concrete, just possibilities.

Is Wijnaldum still likely to leave? I remember seeing last week he could be going to Fenerbahce but it’s gone very quiet since.
Thank you :)

Philinho

{Ed002's Note - I cannot answer "likely" questions but there is interest in him as you say. Fenerbahce would probably want a loan to buy.}

1.) 18 Jul 2018 21:22:22
Thanks ed2 and sorry for asking a "likely" question, as soon as I pressed send I knew I messed up haha.

{Ed002's Note - "Nailed on the mother will be gone soon" is what you want to hear - I know.}

2.) 18 Jul 2018 21:35:15
Haha naa Gini started growing on me towards the end of the season by being more consistent - I wouldn't mind him staying.
Before January though his consistency was a problem for me and wouldn't have been fazed if he was sold lol.

{Ed025's Note - hes poor to be honest phil, goes missing too often for me and is one of the ones who would not be missed if he left mate..

3.) 18 Jul 2018 21:38:27
I have heard that Newcastle are looking at the possibility of bringing him back. but rumours are rumours was probably started by Alan from dorset.

4.) 18 Jul 2018 21:42:34
Gini is a bloody good player and I hope fans don't get disrespectful, he's possibly not going to start as often next season, but if he stays he could play a vital role in the squad. There's going to be an awful lot of games to play.

{Ed025's Note - hes not a good player mush, he may be in a championship side or very low prem but lets not kid ourselves...barring major injuries he only plays in the league cup mate..

5.) 18 Jul 2018 22:04:39
Now he does anyway - Milner showed his worth end of last season and stood up for the big games. The midfield looks like a holding (hendo or Fabinho) a box to box (Keita or Milner) and an attacking (Fekir hopefully or Lallana maybe) so that leaves little space for Gini.

6.) 18 Jul 2018 22:07:19
Did his job. Has my support forever but we have outgrown him now. There just isn't a place for him if we want to keep moving forward.

7.) 18 Jul 2018 21:56:56
I agree and disagree with you ed25, when he actually turns up he is a good player, can be seen everywhere on the pitch and causes problems for the opponents. But his consistency is terrible, so many games last season I didn’t even know he was on the pitch until the end of a game or if he got subbed off.

Towards the end of the season he did improve his consistency though and disappeared a lot less than usual which did show him as a good player.

No disrespect is intended anonymush don’t worry lol.

{Ed025's Note - i think you said it all there phil, turns up too seldom and if liverpool are serious about challenging for the title the players like gini need to be offloaded mate...passengers cannot be carried im afraid..

8.) 18 Jul 2018 21:58:46
Disagree ed he's a decent player works hard for the team in my opinion. Yes he doesn't score goals but he grafts I for one Hooe he stays.

{Ed025's Note - i graft myself CO2005 but im not getting near the team either, i admire your loyalty mate but i think we all know the dead wood has to be pruned back..

9.) 18 Jul 2018 22:00:03
Agreed anonymush.
He is underrated and rarely gives the ball away as well as being comfortable on the ball. Not spectacular but far from a bad player.
You need players like him on the field of play or ready to come off the bench.
I think he'll probably leave for 1st team football and good luck to him if he does.

{Ed025's Note - giving the ball away is not the problem brommers, its him actually getting it and doing something with it!, he is the invisible man and a dead weight who will get none to very little fist team action...and rightly so..

10.) 18 Jul 2018 22:04:33
He'd get his place in the Everton team no bother 😁 ed25 . Look all joking aside a decent player but only in dribs and drabs has a great 25mins then wouldn't hear his name mentioned for the rest of the game be sorry to see him leave I've actually grown to like him but he would only be a squad player aside from injuries and that probably needs to be playing week in week out but won't get that at Liverpool this season plus we have to trim the squad he wouldn't be my 1st choice to go by a long shot but things need to be balanced out in all fairness.

{Ed025's Note - i have to be honest zippy he would probably do a decent job for us mate, but liverpool are on a different planet at the moment and you dont win titles with the likes of gini in your team im afraid..

11.) 18 Jul 2018 22:04:40
ED025 is right, Unfortunately Gini has not hit the level we hoped he would. His game time will be greatly reduced next season. Understandable if he wants to leave for regular football elsewhere, good luck to the lad.

{Ed025's Note - yeah good luck to the guy greenflash..

12.) 18 Jul 2018 22:14:28
Fair point Ed, maybe my red tinted specs were on there. Very good when he turns up, but he probably doesn't turn up as often as we need.

{Ed025's Note - i think your right mush, seems like a decent guy though so good luck to him..

13.) 18 Jul 2018 22:17:33
I feel a bit sorry for him, he hasn't really been given the chance in his preferred, more advanced, position. Though at the same time, if we're going to take that step up we need to leave behind those that can't quite keep up. If he stays, great. squad depth - but if he goes I wish him all the best!

14.) 18 Jul 2018 22:17:35
I think his improved consistency towards the end was due to him getting a lot more game time.
Next season he won’t ever get a decent run so he may go back to being an invisible passenger when he does get game time so I agree it is time for him to move on.

15.) 18 Jul 2018 22:18:18
Hmm, it’s a bit tricky deciding on Wijnaldum. On the one hand, Jurgen Klopp clearly rates him as do most Liverpool supporters who actually watch Liverpool home and away, including me. On the other hand, Ed025 doesn’t rate him at all. Tough one.

{Ed025's Note - i like it WW, if you watch him home and away then you should know hes not up to the task mate...as delboy said..there is none so blind as those who cant hear..

16.) 18 Jul 2018 22:30:36
With Chamberlain out we need midfield cover. Just look at the injuries last season.

17.) 18 Jul 2018 22:35:22
I’ll certainly miss the GW chant : (.

18.) 18 Jul 2018 22:42:26
Ed025, I love a good Delboy quote 😄. Don’t get me wrong, if everyone else was available Wijnaldum wouldn’t be my first choice as a starter in an away game against, say, City or Spurs but I wouldn’t have any qualms about him in any game, starting or off the bench. He never let’s us down and by all accounts he is a great guy to have around the training ground and dressing room. Definitely one to keep for me.

{Ed025's Note - i just dont see where he will fit in now WW, milner gets in before him for me mate and he wont get much game time either..

19.) 18 Jul 2018 22:57:50
Boys. Your suffering with expectations.

Your use to the old liverpool were ok was good enough.

Your fighting for klavan, Matip, karius, wijnaldum.

They are not good enough to win the league. Simple, not good enough.

We are title challengers now and European challengers.

We're not last 8 and top 4.

Where winning the lot. Keita is injured I want modric on to replace him. Bit of a fantasy for him but that is where we are at.

20.) 18 Jul 2018 23:11:22
Don’t see the point or need to sell a versatile player who has played well and seems popular. people seem to have a mindset about this super strong 11. Yet same time we want a strong bench and top squad. Which is it?

So. Hendo, out injured. Fabinho suspended and Keita carrying a slight knock and ideally not risked as a CL game coming up. Can has gone, Ox out. THIS is when top teams still field quality and win in this situation.

I hope he stays.

21.) 19 Jul 2018 01:46:32
If can was still here i could see the argument for moving Gini on but he is a tough opponent with a lot of experience and he and Milner both will be useful in that position. Sturridge and Lallana too will find their place if they are patient. All that said, moving on Ings, Origi, Matip et al now becomes the goal for the rest of the window.

22.) 18 Jul 2018 23:15:18
Ed025, me old mucker!

I woulda thought Gini would be quite glad to be getting “very little fist team action”

😂😖😂😖.

{Ed025's Note - he will certainly be getting more than me zed.. :)

23.) 19 Jul 2018 08:18:03
Remember one of the Eds pointing to his mental tendency to settle when comfortable, think Klopp noticed that the guy has settled. Good luck to him.

24.) 19 Jul 2018 08:34:22
Id keep him for another season but only due to the fact the ox is going to miss the majority of the campaign.

If anybody has seen any videos from the official youtube channel it looks like he's a decent guy in tje dressing room aswell.

If we sign Fekir he probably will end up on his bike as we so need to start shifting a few on.

25.) 19 Jul 2018 08:58:47
Gini is not a player that you will panic about having to put in because you know that he'll do okay. He is also a player who will rarely make a significant individual contribution to winning, or not losing, a game. That was something we very much needed when we bought him. We now have the quality floating around that makes it surplus to requirements.

26.) 19 Jul 2018 09:52:08
Wijnaldum is poor, he gets dancing feet when anyone gets with in 5 yards of him, gives it as soon as he gets it and does nothing but point all over, he runs and can close down that's it, league cup is spot on.

Bit of bants. Since Sturridge has looked his sharpest for years in this pre season and *touch wood* has lasted his longest without becoming injured, and matip now keeps tearing his thighs like they are made of paper. does anybody think they both swapped thigh muscles or something? XD.

Philinho

1.) 24 Jul 2018 11:23:30
Not much to be swapped, OP. Why swap someone with glass thighs with someone who has paper thighs? Makes little sense to me.

2.) 24 Jul 2018 13:24:31
Anyone notice the way Sturridge runs now? Very odd.

3.) 24 Jul 2018 19:21:44
BRover, I think you missed the point lol
Matip has become more injury prone than he was and Sturridge has (for now) become less injury prone.
Matip now has the paper thighs and Sturridge now has the glass thighs.

New image uploaded to the
Liverpool Player Sightings page entitled, Alisson vs Karius lol

Philinho

1.) 19 Jul 2018 19:19:21
Don’t find that funny tbh.

2.) 19 Jul 2018 20:18:23
Bad form.

19 Jul 2018 09:23:48
Away from any transfer talk, For the first time ever I decided to check out the other prem team pages (arsenal united Chelsea spurs) and it’s safe to say a few things
1) you guys must love how quiet the spurs and Chelsea pages are lol
2) Chelsea fans spell Alisson's name wrong too not just us.
3) United fans really do not like Mourinho one bit.
4) What got me the most was on the arsenal page, seeing ed1 abusing poor ol ed25 still xD.

Philinho

1.) 19 Jul 2018 09:41:24
Funny isn't it mate lol I've also been checking out some of their pages recently, if feels good to be a Liverpool fan I know that much. I don't think any other teams fans in the premier league can be as excited as we are right now.

Chelsea have a hell of a lot to deal with the next few weeks so it will be interesting to see how they do business, if they lose Courtois then they're in trouble but some of their fans would be happy with bringing in Schmeichel, Cech or Navas as a replacement? lol god help them if that's the case.

City should be afraid because they won't run away with the league like they did last season, more teams will attack them and that's their main weakness, if I was a City fan I'd be very concerned, though of course, they'll still be up there.

Utd are just butthurt to have a manager like Mourinho and rightly so, I'd be gutted too but part of me does think they'll have a strong season.

Arsenal, kind of remind me of how we were a few years back, signing mediocre players, it'll get them nowhere imo. It'll take them a few seasons to get to where they want (back in top 4).

Then you have Liverpool signing the likes of Keita, Fabinho, Shaqiri and Alisson with the team we already have? we're laughing.

2.) 19 Jul 2018 09:46:00
As a Chelsea fan I’ll blame the misspellings on autocorrect 😂.
The Chelsea page can go quiet at times but I think it’s certainly one of the most active pages here. In the past we’ve been I think the main page to attract trolls and abuse which in turn has meant a couple of the eds leaving the page which is obviously a shame but there’s no reason they should have to put up with any abuse.

3.) 19 Jul 2018 09:58:11
Spot on Salah, it’s crazy how suddenly the tides have changed lol
Wish I went on some of those pages last year or the year before to get a sense of how dramatically most of their moods have changed since!

Chelsea also have the threat of losing Hazard as well which'll throw them even more into a panicky situation. kinda feel bad for them because we know how that is lol
Did see a couple mentions of both Butland, and Cech to mentor him as another GK alternative, they all say the same as some of us about navas haha

I still think City will be close to unbeatable again next season though except for a few sides such as ourselves. some may try and be brave and attack them an they could turn into spectacular goalfests, be exciting to watch lol

United will have a strong season again. No matter how bad Mos tactics are, it gets the results somehow unfortunately : ( lots of fans want him out though xD

And I agree arsenal are pretty much us from probably some time in the Rodgers era!

Exciting times a head though with everything flipping upside down haha.

4.) 19 Jul 2018 10:06:52
Haha RVD1997 I tried blaming autocorrect once and one of the eds changed it to "fat fingers" xD
It is a shame about all the abusers and trolls, they came here for a while (and are probably still here too) . Completely agree though the eds shouldn’t have to put up with it. don’t understand why people have to try and ruin a good (and free! ) thing for others ;_;

5.) 19 Jul 2018 10:07:06
I too am very happy with how things are looking atm, but let's not get cocky before a ball is kicked, eh lads?
The new players may need some time to settle in, but I'm confident that with the options we now have (Fekir or no Fekir) we will be able to turn some of last season's draws into wins and hopefully manage 90 odd points. If that'll be enough for number 19 in 2019 remains to be seen, City will be very good again and United will be their usual tough-to-beat pragmatic tortoise. The other 3 will be good too, so a lot of hard work to do. But after such a summer, it's got to be our year! ;)

6.) 19 Jul 2018 10:15:35
We also need to consider that our thin squad, coupled with the late stage champions league demands (with no real chance of losing our CL spot), did change the complexion of our season towards the end. I don't think Everton, West Brom and Stoke would have had much chance of drawing with us had we not been desperate to rest everyone and save any legs we could. I also doubt Chelsea would have strolled to quite as easy a victory. Winning just 2 of those 3 games (lets say considering the comeback they produced the West Brom game might still have gone the same), we are second with over 80 points which in another season is title winning form. If our extra players can turn just 4 of those draws into wins, that's a real shot at the title.

7.) 19 Jul 2018 10:20:01
You don't need to worry about Chelsea struggling guys, we'll be fine like always. Hazard may leave but they won't allow the club to be mugged off and they will replace him adequately for sure. As you've probably seen on our page we are a little worried about the GK situation although again Chelsea haven't messed around with goalies in the past, who knows though. We have just signed Jorginho and we're linked with some top players still although the last few years our signings have been very hit and miss. Looking forward to what Sarri can bring for us, no more falling asleep at half time and moaning for subs when we're losing in the 80th minute!

8.) 19 Jul 2018 11:23:05
On current teams

With all our signings.

We have just about caught city and Chelsea.

We have equal starting 11's right now.

However if Chelsea lose coutois and even hazard then there instantly below us.

City want to sell fernandinho and Silva apparently. I'm hoping pep does his usual tinkering to get him dream team. Those 2 are integral to then and not such an easy swap.

United will always be up there with mourinjo, what they lack in quality they make up for by not playing football.

Arsenal are exactly like us a few years back, absolutely spot on Salah. Torreria, lich, sokratis, Leno and guendouzi. Markovic, lallaba, Lovren, can, manquillo, .

Some have come good and will do for arsenal but it was about 3 years after we signed them and invested much more that that came about so I'm not to worried about them

Tottenham. If 1 they don't sign anyone of importance and don't win anything then they may aswel say good bye to there star men now.

Everton will stay up. I have no doubt about that. 🤣.

18 Jul 2018 06:04:51
Morning eds, I know you don’t like talking money so figures don’t matter here, but my question is, besides Coutinho are we still owed any money for players we have sold/ in recent years?

I vaguely recall (might be mistaken) that we are still owed a bit of the Suarez money too right?

Sorry if this is a dumb question and a waste of your time :)

Philinho

{Ed002's Note - The Suarez payments ended two years ago. I am not aware of anything still outstanding - just possibly a little from Sakho.}

1.) 18 Jul 2018 09:21:57
Thanks for the reply ed2, appreciate I. no idea why I thought we was still owed for Suarez lol.

15 Jul 2018 21:50:03
Finally learnt his name so I can post this.
Does anybody get reminded of Coutinho (when he first signed) by Curtis Jones?
The hair, the face fluff (not the face mind) and his quick feet all remind me of Couts when watching on the telly lol.

Philinho

1.) 15 Jul 2018 22:00:17
Unfortunately I haven't seen the young lad play yet. what's people's thought's on him?

2.) 15 Jul 2018 22:10:15
that’s a shame Barry, any chance of watching the next friendly or not possible?
i’ve liked what I saw, he’s got quick feet and a burst of acceleration. he also seems to play all over the pitch, 1 minute he’s on the left side and the next he’s on the right or central. doesn't get pushed off the ball too easily and
doesn't seem to selfish on the ball either compared to say Kent who holds up the ball far too long sometimes.
can’t remember how well he tracked back though because he kept swapping sides of the pitch and I always lost him lol.

3.) 15 Jul 2018 22:12:07
He looks a player. But many do at that age and then disappear. I like the cut of his job though.

4.) 15 Jul 2018 22:12:52
Curtis Jones has been one of the stand out performers in ore season so far. Very highly regarded at liverpool and Stevie G lives him. Definitely one to watch.

5.) 15 Jul 2018 22:20:35
Going to the Dublin game so hopefully I'll look at him then. Its the first time I'm taking the little red's with me.

6.) 15 Jul 2018 22:30:31
Class Barry, hope you all have a brill time mate.

7.) 15 Jul 2018 22:34:55
Been superb 3 games now.

Only 17.

Earned a spot in the squad for next year for me.

Been all over the park, constantly switching positions, nice touches, effective passes and great work rate.

8.) 15 Jul 2018 23:29:48
Definitely a player worth watching. Hope we don't mess him about.

9.) 15 Jul 2018 23:54:39
Myself and the kids can't wait Salah.

10.) 16 Jul 2018 00:46:11
Bring them up to Meath Barry good football to be watched there 😉.

11.) 16 Jul 2018 01:45:42
Agreed kloppsboss he has earned himself a spot in the squad, hopefully he works hard in training so Klopp does actually pick him

And awesome Barry hope you all enjoy it :)

12.) 16 Jul 2018 06:47:54
Apparently Zed does Philinho. 😄.

13.) 16 Jul 2018 08:08:26
Yeah mate, he has shown he's not fazed at all, he's effective, he's also really really good in possession so coming on at 80 minutes will really help us in keeping the ball.

Think klopp like a him myself. He's been in the first team twice now, or maybe 3 times.

14.) 16 Jul 2018 08:33:10
I think he has a genuine chance of breaking through.

15.) 16 Jul 2018 10:09:23
Lpl Ron i’m surprised he hasn’t wrote this yet, I suppose the wc fever has got him focusing on mbappe lookalikes for now xD.

16.) 16 Jul 2018 11:00:48
My missus is a Dub Bopper so even better football there😜.

Kloppsboss, how do you work that one out? You say he might cost 20 mil, then sell him at a later date for 12 and it negate most of the costs so he really becomes free?

I mean you’re already 8mil down that way and the fact even after 1 year, you'll be another 8mil down with his wage demands xD

The word "free" is made up to give people false hope. Nothing is ever free in life! (Unless you steal it and never get caught xD)

Saw the price we want for Origi is £27mil. If he was performing as he did a couple years ago then teams might take that, but doubt we'd get that for him now :/.

Everybody keeps including Migs and Karius in the players to offload list, why? We wouldn’t have anybody but a couple of kids as backup to Alisson since Ward and Bogdan are gone (transfer and loan)

Agreed, he needed to make the mistake to learn from and it sounds like he will learn from it.
The crazy thing is, he had to go the long way around a sliding Gomez (or was it Trent? ) And he STILL nearly saved the shot. Inches away from making a cracking recovery save.
His speed is impeccable for a goalkeeper!

He was probably trying to contact security after seeing the mobs converging on him xD

Jokes aside, Bit unfair to mob a guy as he's driving like, especially with family in the car. Most celebrities do "events" for signing autographs (if they don't get caught in a coffee shop) yet players are expected to sign a contract at any time of any day at any place.

it’s the position he has played for us, he is much better when he has freedom to go forward, but when his job is to sit just in front of the cbs there isn’t much he can do considering a striker will always be on his tail as well. Looking forward to seeing him have a lot more freedom this year with fabinho sitting deepest :)
