Hi Eds, any insight into the latest breaking rumour from French journalist Betrand Latour who claims Fabinho should join Liverpool for €55m including bonuses?

{Ed002's Note - As a special treat, my notes say: "Fabinho (DM/RB) - discussions with Atletico have come to a stand still over a gap in valuations, Manchester United have let their interest wane, Liverpool see him as an option to Emre Can and he is versatile enough to provide cover at RB but it would likely mean a change of tactics from Klopp assuming he gets the AM player he is looking for and Jorginho not being interested in the move - expensive but I would not rule it out." What they don't say is that this weekend (Saturday) Atletico met again and again there was no agreement on price and with Max Meyer saying no to Liverpool I guess made them look again.}

Great insight in how it came together. I know your keeping out of a lot of talks around new players/ transfer on the sites but would be interested in hearing your view on the possible change to the tactics? What would you see the change being? No problem if that isn't something you would like to go into at the moment.

{Ed002's Note - He is a RB of old that filled in at and has now become a DM player. The plan is to replace Coutinho which only leaves a single midfield space if they are both starters. So that would leave Keita, Milner, AOC, JH and GW plus youngsters - or if Fekir or another replacement is signed and NK and Fabinho are to start - then 0 places.}

2.) 28 May 2018 22:28:47
If he does half as well as Salah then it’s a great signing. Really pleased with this.

3.) 28 May 2018 22:30:19
Are we still interested in cabellos after fabinho signing?
Do you know anything about oblak to lfc?
Thanks eds.

{Ed002's Note - Ceballos is not keen on a move to Liverpool. Oblak is not of interest.}

4.) 28 May 2018 22:30:45
Sorry ed002 just saw your reply on the banter page to another poster RE tactics.

5.) 28 May 2018 22:42:24
Cheers for the update Ed. I’d heard that Ceballos wasn’t keen on leaving Spain and you’ve confirmed it.

6.) 28 May 2018 23:10:06
Ed002, you are a God!

{Ed002's Note - No, it was a surprise to me - perhaps not a shock.}

7.) 28 May 2018 23:34:17
Ed don’t argue with me on this.
When I say you’re a God, then you’re a God!

8.) 29 May 2018 00:14:27
Keita Fabinho and another is a whole new midfield. I hope they gel well. I believe it'll be hendo will start the first game of the season, probably gini too considering he is not at the WC. Then the new guys will be brought in, but in today's game it is a squad one, having six choices for three spots is what you need. Those mentioned plus Ox is 6 so it suggest at very least lallana will go and maybe Milner.

9.) 29 May 2018 02:35:10
Hopefully this will stop Klopp bringing on a third CB and he packs the midfield instead to close out games.

10.) 29 May 2018 02:56:03
When someone saysyou are a god you say yes. Otherwise a pissed off marshmallow shows up 😉.

{Ed002's Note - So where did I say that? All I get is fucking grief from brain dead vegetables. I get it - Macca rules the roost and I have never offered anything to the site at all - I am sick hearing it. You get you fucking way - Macca will be providing updates several times an hour from now on. You are done as far as I am concerned, I have been giving every bit of effort I can but get relentless abuse from the so called fans - no doubt those that made death threats to a player and we have already had two who don't see an issue with people hoping his kids get cancer. I don't see why we should bother with a Liverpool page any more.}

11.) 29 May 2018 05:26:45
I think they were having a laugh above and calling Ed002 a God. I don’t think there was any malice intended Ed from either maybe misread it?

12.) 29 May 2018 07:04:55
Welshred84, not so sure but maybe some of the abuse ed02 gets doesn’t put on? No wonder he gets pissed off, for me personally this site wouldn’t be the same without ed02 input, not taking anything away from the other Ed’s but his knowledge is second to none and I for one appreciate what he does.

13.) 29 May 2018 08:27:52
Hey Ed, we love you, please come back! I read the poster as agreeing you are a God. Maybe I misread it and I know you’ve had abuse from idiots before, but I think most readers of the site appreciate the incredible inside knowledge and all the unpaid work you put into this site.

14.) 29 May 2018 04:13:52
One other thing Ed002,
I want it to be known I have 2 kids of my own and one more coming. Believe me when I say I understand this is a game and hardly life and death. For anyone to wish Death or Cancer on someone is not humane. I read this site daily and never once have abused anyone.
Matt in FL.

{Ed002's Note - Nobody has suggested it was you.}

15.) 29 May 2018 04:18:19
Thanks for the info Ed002. You are highly appreciated here. Please forget the vegetables who ruin it for others.

16.) 29 May 2018 05:41:45
Not sure what abuse you have been getting ED, sorry to hear you're getting any at all to be honest, but have to say fascinating hearing the inner workings of transfer dealings. I remember you saying many times that there are a lot of variables when signing a player and that's why clubs have multiple targets for each position they wish to fill. Imagine Atletico and Monaco did agree a fee - he'd likely be signing for them now and we'd be chasing someone else. Things change so quickly eh - thanks for this insight thought ED, really interesting.

17.) 29 May 2018 05:58:11
I’m sorry if my comment was misunderstood. I genuinely meant that ed002. It wasn’t a dig at you. I’m just in awe of you. The information you have and all of that which you provide. My comment was because of the insight you gave as to how the fabinho deal came about. I’m sorrt if I offended you in anyway. I really meant it as a compliment.

18.) 29 May 2018 06:45:57
Seemed they where joking and prasing you while doing so ed ovbiously we can't see the abusive posts and I think most of us are sorry to hear such behaviour.

19.) 29 May 2018 07:37:13
Sorry ed002, I was genuinely praising you. I am in awe of your knowledge and information. I mean it as a compliment for the insight you provided on how the fabinho deal came about. It was not a dig at you. I was a genuine compliment. It was not malicious at all. I'm sorry If I offended you in anyway. It was not my intention at all.

20.) 29 May 2018 08:24:57
Ed002. Please don’t go bud, there are plenty of us who do nothing but massively appreciate your incredibly valuable insight and just want to hear from you as it keeps us sane.

I for one am disappointed there are those that want to bite the hand that feeds (seemingly all to often now) but it appears part of the on-line culture. You post something and 99% really appreciate it, however you always get 1% who try to troll and get a reaction. It’s a little like my 9 year old when she feels she isn’t being given the same attention as my 4 year old, she turns into a little sod just to get some attention.

Are you able to ban those that insult you? It would make it a better place for you, and those of us who appreciate and admire you? Please don’t leave the many who want to hear from you just because of the few that don’t deserve to. As always, my best regards to you.

21.) 29 May 2018 08:39:59
Ed002, don’t think anyone is having a go mate. Think you just missed the Ghostbusters joke. Your time here is always appreciated and there is room in our lives for you and Macca.

Hi Eds,

Just a query in relation to the possibility of the Chinese state- backed group Everbright purchasing a stake in LFC, is this rumour genuine or just a ploy to sell more newspapers?

{Ed001's Note - how many times will this need to be answered?}

Hi Ed002, This news was broken by a TV presenter "Milton Neves" who said the forward is already 'on his way' to Anfield. No idea about the credibility!

{Ed002's Note - Ok. Thanks.}

There is strong reports that Liverpool may do a deal for 19 year old Fabio Carvalho of Fulham in January, could be a long term potential replacement for Bobby?

There might be a distinct possibility that FSG allow Salah to run down his contract and he leaves for free in 18 months, they do cost/ risk analysis on every player, Can and Wijnaldum met similar faiths in contract disputes. Simple question, would fans be satisfied to see Mo run down the remainder of his contract, bare in mind it almost coincides with the end date of Jurgens contract?

Prudent ownership who've maximised Liverpool's club value seem no longer interested in progressing the club through necessary onfield investment, big reality is missing out on Champions league football will devalue the asset, a new CB is a necessity to protect the asset.

Very few youth academy players make the grade and there is obvious
reasons for it, A- not good enough, B- exceptionally strong first team. Liverpool have turned their academy into a shrewd business, young players are commodities which are disposable at the right price, this unfortunately is the nature of the business, Sterling is a good example, he was pillaged from QPR had a low cost and moved on for substantial profit, albeit not what LFC wanted. Jordan Ibe was purchased and moved on in a similar fashion. Solanke was purchased at a reasonable price through a tribunal and sold for profit, Ryan Kent and Harry Wilson will also follow suit, Kent and Wilson are good players but obviously not good enough to compete or displace the likes of Salah and Mane. The purest may not agree with this strategy but it has served Liverpool well, look at it this way, the sale of Ibe, Solanke, Kent and Wilson could get you a Timo Werner!

{Ed001's Note - that is not academy players, they are bought not produced.}
