I have to admit, as a Canadian, I love seeing Alphonso Davies begin to rival Robertson as the best LB in the world!

Imagine him and trent on the other side.

2.) 14 Aug 2020 21:43:32
OP, that kid is special. We may all love Robbo BUT Davies is right up there and he is only 19.

3.) 15 Aug 2020 06:31:55
just putting it out there, but I bought Alphonso Davies couple years ago on FIFA before he was even a thing. I'd like to say that I found him first.

Cracking player, on another note, how does Phil Coutinho not get In this current Barcelona team?
Ed001 would get in that midfield.

5.) 15 Aug 2020 10:50:15
not liverpool related - rules for loan players playing against their 'home' club are different in CL than in PL. what is the difference eds?

{Ed002's Note - The can't in the PL and they can in Europe.}

6.) 15 Aug 2020 11:11:57
LiverpoolFC8, politics man. Barcelona are where they are partly because of the way the club is ran like a political party where there are diff. factions within the club and fan base and aspiring candidates for club President have to pander to the diff. factions by saying like, "If you vote for me, I will sign 'insert player here'" and the crown goes bananas. Go figure.

Agreed Red. A mighty fall from probably the best side ever assembled in Peps era. Messi has too much power over the club, it wouldn’t surprise me when he retires he becomes the manager/ owner/ janitor. They could do with a maintenance man, place is a dump.

Kelleher, Gomez, Hoever, Williams, van den Berg, Jones, Elliott, and also Minamino.

What an opportunity for these lads. Part of the first team of the reigning Champions of England, Europe and the World. Under the best manager in the world. Working in an incredible facility, with anything you could need to reach your potential. Training with some of the best players in the world in their positions.

Just want to say I'd love to see them all become superstars. I know it's not realistic but it's there to be grabbed.

How come I don't hear more about a possible Alisson for Ballon d'Or? Wins Champions League, wins Copa América, multiple Golden Gloves. I would love any of our players to win it this year but I think he has as much a chance as any.

Probably because it’s July and the winner isn’t announced until December.

2.) 16 Jul 2019 05:21:59
As Thunderbird said, it's a little early in the year and it was considered to be a particularly weak Copa America. I also think some of it is down to his lack of prolonged consistency In Europe. He only made his really breakthrough two seasons ago, which is what most voters will consider. While it shouldn't be a factor it often is (Was definitely a factor in Buffon coming 4th in 2017).

Neuer was widely considered the best goalie in the world in 2014, was coming off a World Cup win and the double with Bayern but still only came third. Last year Courtois was the highest ranking keeper at 14. I expect him to beat that but I doubt he'll be in contention. Difficult to compare positions and attackers are favoured.

3.) 16 Jul 2019 06:19:23
Goalkeeper is arguably the most important and most under appreciated position in a football team. Us LFC fans have seen it first hand going from Mig/ Karius to Allison over the last few years.

4.) 16 Jul 2019 07:08:47
What if Senegal win the AFCON? Wouldn't Mane be in with a shout then? Our most dangerous attacking player this season. But I think it will go to VVD.

5.) 16 Jul 2019 15:44:52
Love Allisson and he's had a rock solid season with a handful of top class saves. But Ballon d’Or?

It seems to me that it's very rare to find a one club player. Do you foresee that Trent will become that man for us? The next Jamie Carragher?

1.) 07 Jun 2019 11:24:23
I can't ever see Trent leaving us. Scouser born and bred and we are currently in the best position we have been since the 80's I'd argue!

It would take a massive fall from grace from either the player or club for us to depart ways. In my opinion anyway.

Potential to be a huge Liverpool legend, something he would have always dreamt of.

2.) 07 Jun 2019 12:07:40
At 20 years old he's already played 85 senior games for us.

If he stays with Liverpool for his entire career he could maybe break the all time appearance record. It'd be some achievement though.

At 20 years old Carragher had about 40 appearances and he went on to play for us 737 times before retiring.

Ian Callaghan holds the record with 857. Luck will play its part but I'd back Trent to get near that if he avoids major injuries. He's already a legend because he's won the Champions League as a local lad. He can make more history though.

3.) 07 Jun 2019 13:18:15
Yea let's hope so Matt. When he moves into midfield in a few years he will play similar to KDB. He seems a really top lad, could well be captain for a long time as well. Trent looks like a one off though.

4.) 07 Jun 2019 13:35:01
Good shout mate I hope he stays for his entire career. Best RB in the league.

5.) 07 Jun 2019 15:02:50
There isn't going to be another 1 man club with other leagues giving older popular players a big pay check to retire

Especially if we keep winning trophies he will be a house hold name and when he is old and getting squeezed out he will move for a season or so like gerrard id imagine.

6.) 08 Jun 2019 12:29:32
Maybe, i reckon he'll be with us till he can't play at his top level. Dunno though, can you imagine milner going to play for LA galaxy? He is more likely to end his career at his boyhood club. Who knows where lfc will be in 15 years.

Did carragher play more games than gerrard then?

How many games did gerrard play?

I wonder if Begovic would be a good alternative. Homegrown, 31, and looks like Bournemouth has it's goalie of the future. Might be cheap. Though still might want to find a starting role somewhere else.

We also have Ox, we have Shaq, we have Lallana. I bet even Trent could step up if needed. You can't just keep adding and bloat your squad, players need to leave too. That's proper asset management. If something catastrophic happens, we have the January window. I'm open to seeing if we can buck the trend of buy, buy, buy. I'd love to see more success stories like Gomez and Trent, coming up through the youth ranks. If anyone can coach a young player and mold them into a superstar its Klopp.

Honestly in this form, I would take anyone. I can guarantee no one wants us though!
