Hello Ed's,
As the gaffer seems intent on getting a wide forward / winger in Jan and the pulisic kid seems a no go. Have LFC shown any interest ever in Felipe Anderson of Lazio?
He seems to be having a good season and is quick and two footed almost the ideal attacker a team would want.

Navjyot

{Ed001's Note - not sure how intent he is and not recently that I am aware of.}

1.) 01 Dec 2016 14:34:12
Thanks a lot Ed001. Guess was just wanting a Brazilian too many in our attack 😅.

{Ed001's Note - he is one that we did look at in the past, but I don't expect our interest to be revived as his price would be high now.}

Hello Eds,
a question for Ed002,
What is the current situation with Martin Montoya?
I mean do Barca want to keep him or are open to a sale because he only has one year remaining on his contract and would be an excellent replacement for Johnson who has been poor for a while.
Also the lad will most likely be on less than 1/2 of Johnson's wages (reportedly 90K/week).
Would be an excellent buy in this window or Jan (more likely). {Ed002's Note - Martin Montoya has been subject to rejected offers from Napoli and a loan offer from Monaco who opted for Tavares instead. Inter made an enquiry but Barcelona have made it clear they do not wish to sell him.}

Hello Eds,
1) Does the move for Shay Given mean Brad Jones will be on his way out?
Surely we can't keep 3 keepers.

2) have we made a bid for Sakho last night?
A few french sites reporting we bid 12M euros for him. {Ed001's Note - 1. No. 2. I don't know about a bid, we are in talks, I believe, I suppose it depends on what the French sites mean by a bid.}

Ed02, Are ROMA in financial trouble?
They have just sold Marquinhos for 30M, about to sell Osvaldo for atleast 15M and rumours of them willing to business for Lamela and Pjanic even D'Rossi.
I mean that is the main core of their team, young with potential (except D'Rossi) so why all this?
Surely it would be in their interest to keep atleast Lamela and Pjanic as their value will increase with each passing season. {Ed002's Note -Roma has had financial problems of several years and, like Liverpool in a way, are in a difficult position with the FFP rules after their qualification for the Champions League and now the Europa Cup has dropped away. Add to this the impact on their turnover which has lacked the growth associated with being in the major European Competition has seen them look to bring themselves in line financially. Marquinos and Bojan Krkic being sold has balanced the books and a deal for Osvaldo to leave is very near to being finalised. Pjanic will, I expect, be subject to a bid from Spurs if they fail to secure another target. Lamela is really a separate matter from the others.}

So it looks like we have shifted our LB target from Cissokho to Guilherme Siqueira and are close to a deal. And with BR saying he wants a left sided forward who scores goals, I still feel a deal for Diego Costa maybe possible.

Anyway Ed, Just read on a french website today that Sakho has finally decided to leave PSG and his agent has already held preliminary talks with Monaco and LFC. Do you reckon any truth in it? {Ed002's Note - Sakho is on the list of targets for Monaco. Arsenal and Lyon have sustained interest in Sakho and there is some interest from Newcastle, Inter Milan, Manchester City and possible interest lingering interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona. Baader has explained that AC Milan and Liverpool have recently enquired about his availability but PSG are not keen on selling and the player is keen to stay. However, Laurent Blanc remains concerned about his attitude and would be willing to let him move on - that could be facilitated after the departure of Leonardo who had been lending him support. Would be an excellent buy if Agger or Skrtel were to move on, and not out of the question.}

Hello Ed's,
Have Liverpool shown any interest in Ajax centre back Davinson Sanchez?
He seems to me like the van djik (at Celtic) / niklas sule type of CB but one we must buy before he makes a move to another club and has his price tag way beyond our reach.

Navjyot

{Ed002's Note - No. And who would he replace?}

1.) 06 Jan 2017 18:25:25
Good question, Ed.

2.) 06 Jan 2017 18:25:25
Good question, Ed.

3.) 06 Jan 2017 20:55:49
Hmm let me guess Sakho/ illori/ possibly lucas/ maybe even klavan in the summer. I genuinely don't expect any of these to stay beyond the summer.
So we are left with Matip lovren and Gomez
Guess that looks CL squad quality to you Hamilton red.
Trusting youth is good but people need to understand our squad is quite weak especially at CB to last a season without europe. Imagine one with it

4.) 06 Jan 2017 21:11:28
Navjyot I agree with you to an extent but why would klavan be leaving? He just joined us and it doing relatively well. But it's definitely an area we should look to improve in the summer unless Gomez really steps up and is outstanding. We have to remember that at this rate we will have CL football and a much more difficult season, so we would have to improve the first 11 as much as the depth. I just don't see anything happening in January though, maybe a forward and a few outgoings.

5.) 07 Jan 2017 06:53:53
Everyone is assuming Gomez is the future but he is largely untested at CB. I hope he gets his chance and can stay injury free to fulfill his obvious potential but that should not stop us strengthening the squad. We are defensively very poor and Gomez won't be the answer solely.

Klaven, Sakho and Matip look pretty average to me and Lovren is struggling without the protection of a solid DM.

Hope Gomez gets his chance in the cups at CBS and not LB.

6.) 07 Jan 2017 23:41:14
Ppl need to give klavan a bit more credit, how many games he played for us? His 1st season in epl and he's visibly getting better game by game, not saying he's a worldy or ought but he's done enough I'd like to c him along side matip for a run of games especially once fully up to speed. n finally 4.2m

15 Dec 2016 11:52:38
Excellent performance by the team last night. Every one played really well especially klavan and lallana.
Just a question to the regular posters and Ed001 if he can help.
Noticed yesterday and a few other days while tracking a player back Henderson gets outpaced by many a players nowadays. Remember watching us in 2014 he used to be so quick and so good at shielding opponents. You reckon he has lost a yard of pace due to his foot injury issue or am I just imagining things?

Navjyot

{Ed001's Note - I don't think so, I think you were just noticing him against Adama Traore, who is one of the quickest players in the world.}

1.) 15 Dec 2016 13:31:54
Hendo has more pace than many players in his position. he has more pace than Dier, Wanyama, Fernandinho, Carrick, the lot. Players like Zaha, Sterling or to me, the fastest player in the PL in Adama Traore, going past him doesn`t change that.

2.) 15 Dec 2016 13:32:45
Maybe you are right Ed. By the way are Can, Matip and Sturridge expected to be fit for the derby on Monday?
Or is it more of a wait and watch scenario.

{Ed001's Note - too early to be sure, though Can is expected to be fit.}

3.) 15 Dec 2016 14:04:11
Traore. My God, what a speedster. But no signs of any particular footballing skills. No wonder Barcelona let him go. If there was a manager out there that could polish up this raw, rough diamond, they'd have a gem on their hands.

4.) 15 Dec 2016 14:23:50
Adama Traore physically has to be on of the best in league, stacked like a beast and runs like mane, I'm sure BR would love to sign him based on his physique ;)

5.) 15 Dec 2016 14:48:29
Reportedly, his attitude stinks as well so Good luck with the coach trying to help him improve.

6.) 15 Dec 2016 15:27:12
Not as fast as Zoom 😄.

7.) 15 Dec 2016 16:05:19
No he is a speedster of sorts but not even a nice pumping of velocity 9 would put on terms with me the fastest man alive.

8.) 15 Dec 2016 17:28:14
Aren't you dead?

9.) 15 Dec 2016 18:58:33
You fool I've been tasked with being the guardian of the speed force. "That youngster Barry Allen may well have defeated me (those time wraiths took me bleeding face off near enough (well they did take my face off (but that's by the by) and I've been evaporated into the speed force (though my spirit still lives on (in many ways (though in many ways it does not) ) but I'll be back to challenge the foolish speedster soon enough. Oh yes oh yes this zolomon boy will.

Hello fellow kopites,
Really happy with all our signings and especially OUT's. Of course would have loved a top notch player in but no issues there is always Jan window. But just a hypothetical question.
If Chelsea were interested in loaning Lukaku do you reckon we should have taken him in?
Would have loved him in attack alongwith Suarez, Sturridge and Coutinho. Also watching Everton uptill now, I was 100% convinced they would not even finish top 10 with Jelavic and Kone but feel Lukaku can drag them to atleast 10th. {Ed002's Note - Moses is already on loan from Chelsea so only a loan-to-buy would be allowed and that was not an option.}

01 Sep 2013 18:56:10
Hello Eds,
with Borini going out on loan, do you see another attacker coming in?
We would defo need another attacker in as Aspas is yet to really set the league alight. {Ed002's Note - Moses.}

Navjyot

01 Sep 2013 15:48:40
I say just get in a top attacker in addition to Moses, Ilori, Sakho and Given and we can very well finish 3rd.
F**K 4th, let the ManU, Spurs and Arsenal fight for 4th.
:)

Thanks for the update Ed002 appreciate the effort.
It's good to hear atleast the club starting to look at quality players
Although tad disappointed they aren't looking at Keita Balde of Lazio for the wing. He will be in the last year of his contract in the summer so can't be that overpriced and is a quality rapid attacker with good finishing.
Whoever gets him would be damn lucky I say.

Navjyot

{Ed002's Note - He is indeed moving this summer, but Liverpool has shown no interest.}

Hello Ed,
Would it be fair to consider stewart, Flanagan, Wisdom, Markovic and Sakho as summer outs in addition to those you mentioned above?
Also do we hold any interest in Tiemone Bakayoko?
He is the only addition that could take our midfield up a few notches and reduce our team conceding stupid counter attack goals.

Navjyot

{Ed001's Note - not Stewart, but the others yes. Not that I am aware of.}

Hello ed,
What about Tierney the Celtic full back. Have LFC looked at him?
Secondly regarding Ricardo Pereira
Is he the one on loan to buy deal at OG Nice?
Thanks.

Navjyot

{Ed002's Note - (a) No, but other Premier League sides are interested. (b) Porto are keen to sell Ricardo Pereira to raise summer funds and Nice have an option on the player at €25M which they are unlikely to pay. This opens the door for Inter but they already have a lengthy shopping list and he may not be a priority. Liverpool and Arsenal has watched him on more than one occasion whilst on loan at Nice this season.}

Excellent player. But not exactly who we need. He is almost like lallana.
We need a more powerhouse in midfield someone like a Tiemoué Bakayoko / Naby Keita / franck kessie. Someone who can really get stuck in the opposition but obviously play footy as well.

Buy a good LB ( Jordan amavi/ Tierney/ Gibbs / kosalniac) . Also if possible get a deal agreed for the summer for that lad Frank kessie like the one we did for gujric.
Thats not too much I hope 😋.

Yes the team is dependent on Mane a bit but it's majorly because he is mainly the only real player with pace in our team. We have no real player like him who can take on players and beat them for pace. Add to that his stamina has been phenomenal.
That is the major area we need to address this summer.
Add a couple of good pacy wide forwards uptop
Also left back too needs upgradation. Milner did well in the first few games but nowadays every game he looks really tired.

And hjikle for the club's you mentioned, firstly Leicester had I would say the stars lining up for them. They are back to normal now.
And the others are in somewhat in a less competitive league but again with awesome scouting departments. Do you genuinely believe our scouts can find gems?
Yes I am in awe of Dortmund and benfica or players like Renato sanchez (youth product), getting in aubemayang and dembele (early before their price sky rockets)

Exactly kopite7
There are teams no doubt around Europe who have done well within a budget. But that case is just not possible in EPL. And Ed I just included spurs in the mix just because their style of play is somewhat similar having all energy and all. Not to compare anything else.

People are really blindly giving owners the benefit just because of the argument that they saved LFC. They need to get their head around the fact only way to success is loads of money. In today's market and especially this league you would need to invest bare minimum 30 million and 100k per week to get a potentially good/ great player.
Then there is an argument we can only spend what we earn. it doesn't work like that. Who has ever earned success that way? No one
Thing with football is you spend, get success and the income follows. (more fans/ better global franchise/ better deals from partners)
The last argument of people especially Ed002 was that this klopphuss style of footy was not sustainable. Why is that?
Don't spurs play almost the same intensity as we do. They don't seem to tire as fast as us. Again it's just the fact they have players who can sustain that energy game on game while we are carrying passengers who just need one bad patch to just fall through.

Navjyot

{Ed002's Note - I told you from day one it was not sustainable and the reasons why - and what has happened in recent weeks - it has not been sustained. You obviously donm't understand FFP, you don't unbdertand the debts and I have no idea at all why you want to bring Spurs in to this.}

The same should be the case for Milner. Yes he did well in a few games but has been abysmal in a fair few too. He must be on what 130-150£ per week. One can have 2 classy left backs and still have change left on that salary. We as a team are carrying too many ordinary players who at times even seem less than ordinary. It would be just awesome if the management just get the hold and accept many of our squad members can be easily upgraded on in the summer window and just go for it.
