Ed, I've seen you say that Vietto is realistic. Why would he join us? Most of the top clubs in Europe must be interested in him right now, Under what circumstances would we have any chance

Also, Is there any chance of Dybala?

Miike

{Ed002's Note - You are going to have to find out which Ed said that and then ask them.}

13 Mar 2015 20:55:23
Hi Ed, Don't think I've seen this guy be mentioned here before, but is Vieirinha a realistic option? Would he possibly be a suitable RWB for us? Seen him play reasonably well at RB for Wolfsburg a few times. I assume we're not interested in him as it stands, given he hasn't been mentioned on here.

Miike

{Ed001's Note - no, they are not looking to sell, they are a rich club.}

04 Jan 2015 17:13:37
You said a while back that the players we would potentially be looking to sell, are Lucas, Balotelli and Sakho. Has that changed?

If by some miracle we were to sell Balotelli and Sakho, would that possibly be enough funds to go out and actually buy an outfield player, who potentially could start for us?

Miike

{Ed002's Note - Inter still want Lucas and he still wants Inter. There is a good chance a deal can be done but Inter probably need to sell first. Mino has found several; loan options for Balotelli but nobody wants him at the asking price. Perhaps if Liverpool could get Origi early for a small fee they could tolerate a loan but would need to look again at their financial expectations it may be possible. Olympiakos are less of an option than Inter (who are still negotiating the exit of Icardi) or Galatasaray if there were to be a loan. Sakho is staying for now.}

1.) 04 Jan 2015 18:00:45
Sakho is clearly our best defender why would we want to sell him.

Lucas is our only defensive midfielder so why sell when we clearly need him.

Icardi where is he going ed ?

{Ed002's Note - The Nose does not agree about Sakho. Time looks up for Lucas. Inter are talking to Chelsea about Icardi.}

2.) 04 Jan 2015 18:41:08
What's wrong with Sahko? He had nervy moments but now he's playing more sensible short passes he looks fine. His confidence is growing, judging by the little Cruyff turns, he is a quality player

{Ed002's Note - BR purchased Lovren as first choice over Kirikou.}

3.) 04 Jan 2015 18:43:31
Sakho does actually have potential and should be given another season.

4.) 04 Jan 2015 20:45:21
Would be foolish to sell our most effective defensive midfielder, would leave us very short. Considering Gerrard is always a passenger when he plays, Allen is completely ineffective and not capable of playing defensive midfield, Henderson is no defensive midfielder as he is a box to box player and sitting Can as a defensive midfielder seems a waste of talent as he has a lot to his game, unless there was a plan to bring some quality in, which I doubt due to lack of funds, I think that letting Lucas go would be a huge mistake as things stand, would be better to find a buyer for Allen.

5.) 05 Jan 2015 05:47:48
Ed002, so if Chelsea and Inter agree a deal for Icardi will Lucas go on loan to Inter or will he move on a permanent deal?

{Ed002's Note - They are probably not directly related as Inter are looking to complete a number of transactions this month.}

6.) 05 Jan 2015 20:38:17
Swap him for Fredy Guarin or ge Sissoko from Newcastle

23 Jul 2014 23:48:25
I know there's been nothing much on it recently, but is there still a chance of getting Cuadrado? I heard that Fiorentina bought the rest of the ownership of him, does that make a move less likely?

Miike

{Ed002's Note - No. It has dragged on but I would think he will eventually (within a week) move to Barcelona as a replacement for Alves. There remains interest from elsewhere, but not LFC.}

15 Jul 2014 08:31:20
Ed, Does interest still remain in Huntelaar? Assuming it was there in the first place.

Miike

{Ed008's Note - If you used the search function from 2 days ago.. {Ed002's Note - Both might be viable additions if Origi does not sign or goes back to Lille on loan (which is what they are asking)Huntelaar has a year remaining on his contract and is keen to play for another top flight team that gives him the chance of a league title. CSKA, Galatasaray and Liverpool have shown some level of recent interest in Huntelaar - although the word of interest from Liverpool came from an Arsenal scout when he was asked about any interest from Arsenal. The player himself could opt to sign a new one year deal which Schalke want, sign a pre-contract with a non-German side in January or run down his contract and seek a hefty signing on fee next summer.}

Hi Ed,

Some semi reliable sources saying Saul remains linked to a few PL clubs on a loan to obligated buy sort of deal. Do you know of any truth in that?

For reference, the clubs are Liverpool, United and Chelsea, with Liverpool apparently "leading the race". I think it would be an excellent signing for us so hope the interest remains for this window.

Miike

{Ed002's Note - It would be a change of direction for Atletico and whilst all of the clubs are open to a midfield addition the wages would be a huge issue. In particular, Manchester United would need to sell to make space.}

1.) 22 Aug 2021 20:50:21
Miike, is this the tweet from a poster on Twitter called Grimes?

2.) 22 Aug 2021 21:02:24
Yes Ox - I'm still not convinced if she's a reliable source but she's certainly got a fair few things correct to date.

3.) 22 Aug 2021 20:46:06
Makes sense, cheers as always Ed.

4.) 23 Aug 2021 08:14:44
I had noticed that she had got a few things right and not just for the top teams.

I laugh at how she hates Fabrizio Romano and always calls him out though for being a tap in merchant.

Hi eds

Apologies if you've answered this before, but do you know any reason why Gini wouldn't sign a contract? It seems like he's got things pretty good here, and is presumuably a starter still if he stays and we don't sign thiago because of it?

Miike

{Ed001's Note - initially it was because Klopp had tried to sell him the summer before, this summer the contract offer is not there for him as Klopp is again looking to move him on. I don't think Gini has ever got over being left out for the Barcelona game.}

1.) 30 Aug 2020 11:03:23
ed, speaks highly for Gini given all this has been going on but it doesn't seem to have been a distraction or to have impacted on hos performances / effort.

{Ed001's Note - yet everyone moans he plays within himself and is often anonymous, so maybe it has?}

2.) 30 Aug 2020 11:19:01
I don’t think it has at all I for one will be sorry to see him leave
Never injured never hides always wants the ball, never kicks up fuss behind the scenes or embarrasses himself on the field or off if, a proper role model for any young player imo.

3.) 30 Aug 2020 11:35:57
I have wondered myself about Gini's reaction to being left out of the Barcelona game, only to come on second half and score twice. He said afterwards he was angry with the manager. Gini speaks good English, perhaps he really meant it and there is an issue between him and Klopp. Gini is one of my favourite players, will be sad if he leaves even if Thiago replaces him.

4.) 30 Aug 2020 11:44:40
Right here's my two pence worth lad's I've always said to other reds I know that if Liverpool had to sell a player in the morning and it was Gini I wouldn't be too upset. As has been said on here he's anonymous in a lot of games and it drives me mad because I really believe that if he played to his full potential he would be awesome because he has the technical ability to stand out in a game and really impose himself on it.

5.) 30 Aug 2020 12:03:37
Don't agree Barry to be honest. He's a solid player for us but when he plays for the Dutch he looks a completely different player. Way more of a goal threat. I'm not sure if he's pushed further forward by his country or doesn't have to do as much work in their system. Either way if he goes I'd personally wish him well and say thanks Gini. Solid, solid professional.

6.) 30 Aug 2020 12:28:11
by everyone, do you mean liverpool fans on here? let's be honest, they'll moan about anything lol.

7.) 30 Aug 2020 12:38:24
Barry, Gini was not anonymous last season, tho. He was a key cog in our conquest of our first title in 30 years and even rival fans rate him very highly.

I think Ed01 is right here cos Klopp leaving him out of that Barcelona game compounded with the fact that Klopp wanted him moved on, could really have gotten his goat way more than we thought and he is entitled to having that feeling cos he has earned the right.

IMO, if he wants to leave then let it be done so both parties can move on or he plays out his contract and leaves with our best wishes for the future. Just my opinion.

8.) 30 Aug 2020 13:25:30
I suppose with Gini I just don't see in games what he does lad's is all I'm saying and yes he probably is fed up at JK and wants a move and if so I'll be one of the first to wish him good luck.

9.) 30 Aug 2020 13:47:53
If you don’t see what gini does in games then you need to ask someone mate
Or start watching games in a more tactical way
Not having a go just offering a solution
Gini is the player who doesn’t lose the ball and retains it in very tight areas whilst he keeps it moving
His type of role for Liverpool will never attract headlines and can often go unnoticed and unappreciated
But he is vital to what we do and are about overall imo in midfield.

10.) 30 Aug 2020 14:10:46
Gini does what Klopp wants him to when he plays. And a lot of the time that's stifling the opposition, being in places where he can't help with the attack but will hinder or disrupt the opposition's progress.
He's following orders, like a good soldier. If he was "disappearing" regularly like so many allude to he wouldn't get the playing time that he does, and we wouldn't win as many games with him on the pitch.
Just because fans can't see that side of it doesn't mean it isn't happening. There's more to football than attacking and scoring.

11.) 30 Aug 2020 14:11:01
Fully agree, JJ. If opposition fans (I have watched youtube fan channels with rival fans who LOVE Gini) rate Gini highly and an LFC fan does or cannot see what he brings then, what can one say? Nothing, realy.

12.) 30 Aug 2020 15:36:04
Well every day is a school day lad's YNWA.

13.) 30 Aug 2020 17:58:22
I love Gini, but at this point what we need is more creativity in the midfield in my view. We dominated Arsenal for most of the match but only scored once. I believe we only had one shot on target as well. It may be time to sell him and go for Thiago. We have to do something different because we are way too predictable in the offensive 3rd in my view.

Hi Eds, hope you and your families are keeping well

Was wondering, if the season were to become null and void, would we see any backlash from the clubs who are set to lose out the most? Liverpool, Leicester, Sheff Utd etc, could you see them taking any sort of action against the league? Would it come to anything?

Miike

{Ed002's Note - We are well Miike and hope you and your family are as well. I know of no legal basis for taking action and I very much doubt clubs would look to it. Whilst a growing number of clubs want a line drawn across and the season ended there is no common agreement for the way it would be managed. Belgium have followed the Bundesliga proposal that sees a line drawn across for the European placed, two up from the second tier (and down through the leagues), no relegation but four relegated for the following two seasons. If an alternate approach was taken of making the entire season null and void it would simply delete all entries in the formal records for the entire season and it would revert to normal when it is possible to start next season. That begs the question of do we wait until the 55th country is ready to proceed or not? Options such as playing behind closed doors bring the problems that were seen at the last PSG game. Obviously playing out the season in China or Yemen are obviously complete non starters.}

1.) 04 Apr 2020 16:57:28
I do not, for one second, think there would be a repeat of what happened at PSG if games were to be played behind closed doors. The world has tilted off its axis since then. There may be the odd mindless moron, but I genuinely don't think it would present a problem.
That said, it all seems so far in the future it's not worth contemplating.

2.) 04 Apr 2020 17:41:30
I agree Rome 1977 but how many mindless morons are there? I guess you can't take that chance.

Hi Eds,

This may be a personal question, but what is your line of work?

Or rather, how is it that you come to have so much inside knowledge/ links to information within clubs?

Appreciate all the work you guys do on the site, and find it really interesting as to how you got to this position.

Miike

{Ed001's Note - are these for Mistress number 5 as usual sir?}

3.) 04 Apr 2019 06:56:32
I honestly can't believe you're all that educated. You had me fooled!

4.) 04 Apr 2019 08:09:21
I hope those roses will be red.

5.) 04 Apr 2019 09:02:29
Sounds like the Eds are he perfect team for tidying up an old house with lots of chimneys and presenting it well afterwards.

Duly noted!

8.) 04 Apr 2019 13:35:50
An impressive list, but i'm only REALLY impressed if Ed002 can fulfil all his roles at once. I've never once seen a clown paint a picture and make love to a woman while avoiding being murdered by a bull.

9.) 04 Apr 2019 14:13:21
Roses are red.
Ed001 is one too.
My chimney needs a clean.
What price can you do?

02 Jan 2019 13:41:16
Hi Eds

There were some articles circulating in late November stating that we added a clause in the coutinho deal meaning Barcelona would be obliged to pay €100m extra if they were to purchase another Liverpool player before 2020.

Do you know if this is true? Various sources were reporting it, but it seems strange for barcelona to have looked at Firmino and Salah (even as outside options) if this were the case.

Miike

{Ed002's Note - I have answered this before - try searching.}

1.) 02 Jan 2019 14:12:47
I have had a look mate, not having much luck.

{Ed002's Note - It is nothing to worry about.}

2.) 02 Jan 2019 16:45:19
i remember reading it. If i remember rightly it wasn't that they would have to pay an additional 100 Euros, just that the payments for the initial transfer fee would all become immediately due. Unless i dreamt it.

3.) 02 Jan 2019 20:04:28
Strange dream that Tom, but not as strange as my last dream about women wearing tabards. Message me for more info.
