Sneaking away again eds some crazy United fan in the office is trying to wind me up saying were are trying for mahrez I told him no way, just hoping you could help me by confirming a no interest IN Mahrez from us LFC.

There is interest in Mahrez actually. not as concrete as Lemar and Ox, those two deals + VVD are the ones we want to get over the line if fees can be agreed. Leicester have given us permission to speak to Mahrez apparently but he isn't one of our top targets.

Afternoon Eds just wondering in your opinion why we waited till Jan to let coutinho go why not just of let him go in the summer and just have a season with the players we know want to play for us.

Completely understand football is a business, just wondered if we don't get anyone in do the eds especially ed001 see us maintaining our form I know he's only one player but he creates alot.

Coutinho is most likely leaving and it seems we can't get in a top class replacement this window. So looking at the next calibre of player, i would like your views on in my opinion, the most under rated player in the league, Marc Albrighton. I think he's a great player personally.
Pacey, hard working, contributes defensively, plays the same role as Coutinho, shapes his crosses and balls over the top beautifully for a player like Salah to get on the end of, a set piece specialist, and also a very under rated passer. He might not be able to regularly stick the ball in the top corner, but with his quality of delivery and the likes of Salah and Van Dijk on the end of them, he could be an excellent indirect replacement for Coutinho. Indirect because although he plays the same role, he has different strengths. I think his extra defensive work rate would allow him to play in the same team as Mane, Firmino and Salah though, without us looking unbalanced, which is another plus.
Lemar has 2 goals and 4 assists, and Albrighton has 2 goals and 6 assists. So he's not exactly a mile off most peoples preferred option. What are your thoughts on Albrighton? I think he'd fit into our team seamlessly. He's not as good individually as Coutinho (neither is Lemar though), but Albrighton is a better team player by far.
I anticipate I'll be slaughtered for this suggestion 😂 he's miles more suited to what we need than Mahrez though.

Like eds have said Klopp knew coutinho wouldn't stay from a while ago, my only gripe with coutinho is he hasn't been man enough to publicly say "id like to go to barca" isn't like it's United, I'd like him gone personally I understand the possible rebuild that may present but players who do not want to wear the shirt don't deserve our time. im so bored of fans acting like loyalty exists fans are the only loyal thing about football, I only hope we get decent replacement that's all I can ask. Thanks for the insight into the whole situation eds may I ask who you'd think. souod be good replacement.

Handing in a transfer request is a pretty good indication that he ‘manned up’ and stating his wish to leave.

I like lemar but think pullusic or isco are better imo if any of those two became available.

I too think couthinho needs to go. as for club selling best player and all that, we have sold better players that him over time so not a problem for me if you keep them they retire in the end anyway and as seen by Gerrard you keep them to long then they have a power that never helps managers maybe that's why Sir Alex never kept to many of the super stars apart from the 3 that he kept and I think there personalities where more like Carra's than Gerrards. As for Lemar ed I have not seen a lot of him so can he play in the deeper role that Couts has been playing or is he a front 3 player if he can play there he looks like he would bring even more pace to the team what can only be good for the team.

Ye, just same as in july / august, would much prefer coutinho to much a public statement and be on with it.

Morning Eds if ed001 is there im still bewildered by the defensive display from Saturday everyone keeps giving me the old ten men speil but i just wondered what are your expectations of this season? I can't see past the defence personally, as long the high line gives them no protection how can we really progress as a team.

Not troubling to me, football is a business we'd do well as fans to support the club not the individual, the same way we want players that other fans do not want to leave, why are we so different, especially when they want to leave, i say thank you for the memories coutinho, if you do go and if that happens ill still be singing #YNWA no player is bigger than lfc lads.

I'm one of the naive ones right now I thought it was real as I'm not aware who kelly is and I really would like keita, I've watched a lot of bundesliga this season being laid up with a bad hip and he's one of those you'd love your club to sign though I was aware no one really knew him and wasn't sure who's radar he was on, but other reports on twitter state it's a farse so I've been sold the dummy again : (.

People would have an easier time not taking things to heart and accepting people for who they are, i love the info the eds bring, im a fan of the epl in general and if you ever check other eds rumour sites the overall temprament of responses are same the same not sure eds hate teams but i wouldn't be overly jovial answering the same questions over and over again to some fans who are just ungrateful, 2 teams fans have lost eds002's i do not want the same thing for us. Thanks for all your time eds i and many of us appreciate it.
