Salah said this.

“Well, we are almost in December and I haven't received any offers yet to stay in the club. I'm probably more out than in, ” Salah said.
Salah admitted he was “disappointed” about not being offered a new contract.

I've just read this ?.

2.) 26 Dec 2022 22:08:44
Boooooom!

3.) 26 Dec 2022 22:15:23
Looking very positive on the Gakpo front.

Great to have another option up top once all confirmed.

4.) 26 Dec 2022 22:27:07
Can he play midfield.

5.) 26 Dec 2022 22:37:43
Must mean there’s cash for midfield, or are we being silly again.

Hi Ed002.

There are rumours of dybala not looking likely to sign a new contract and liverpool being interested in him.

Do you know if there is anything to it?

Liss

{Ed002's Note - They are trying to come to an agreement. The issues are around the wage demands - it would cost Liverpool a huge amount so it seems unlikely.}

1.) 08 Dec 2021 20:21:22
Ok thanks Ed 😊.

24 Nov 2021 15:45:44
Hi ED002

Are liverpool interested in pulisic?
Newspapers saying he will be available and liverpool want him in january. Anything to it?

Liss

{Ed002's Note - There is interest from elsewhere but Liverpool have not spoken with Chelsea.}

1.) 24 Nov 2021 18:03:03
Good player but fitness concerns for me.

2.) 24 Nov 2021 20:59:11
Absolutely superb player, but looks like he’s made out of crisps.

3.) 24 Nov 2021 22:08:08
That’s not like you to be negative VVVV 😉.

4.) 25 Nov 2021 02:58:24
As a rotation player I think he would great. He can play across the front 3 and fits our style of play more than he does Chelsea's. For me, the drop-off in quality of our forwards from Salah, Mane, Jota and Firmino to Minamino and Origi is too steep. Sometimes a player of his physical composition cannot expect to play every single game like Salah does as they cannot be relied on. But the benefit of a move to Liverpool is the reduced competition for places so he would probably have a better chance of game time here than he does at Chelsea.

5.) 25 Nov 2021 09:52:04
Chelsea won't loan him and we don't have the cash to buy him outright. besides, he is too prone to injury. cracking player and Klopp always had the klipperty on him.
Not Happening.

6.) 25 Nov 2021 17:10:36
In fairness and for consistency West Derby, I can’t call out a player like Sanches or Dembele for being chronically injury prone and not apply the same reasoning to Pulisic, even though unlike them, he is a brilliant footballer.

7.) 25 Nov 2021 23:17:47
Point taken VVVV.

8.) 26 Nov 2021 08:00:34
Taki is worth 15m+ to someone in Spain. Between him and other saleable assets like Nat+Div, we have enough to buy one top drawer rotation player.

9.) 26 Nov 2021 19:20:16
Spaceman, If you sell all three of those for £10-15m each we’d still get nowhere near enough to buy a top drawer rotation player, after deductions for tax, agent fees etc.

10.) 26 Nov 2021 19:40:04
Who, in Spain is going to give you £15m for Taki? Real, Barca or Athletico wouldn't want him and everyone else would offer peanuts, Divocks free in the summer and no one would cough up for Nat just after his heroics last year, who's going to make an offer after six months of not kicking a ball?

11.) 26 Nov 2021 22:52:22
Three out and one in doesn’t sound like improving the squad to me. Just saying.

12.) 30 Nov 2021 10:13:42
Literally what Jadon said.

01 Jan 2020 17:10:09
are real madrid interested in sadio mane Ed's?

Liss

{Ed002's Note - Real Madrid are still looking at a major revamp and are using Eden Hazard on the LW which was not their plan. They have plans to bring in a specific RW/S in mind and a couple of alternatives but are likely need to hold on to Asensio who they would rather let move on once fully fit - which he may not have proven by the summer. They have a bunch of senior players they have available for horse trading, particularly James Rodriguez, Isco and Bale and will look to include them in any deal. I am not aware of any direct approach to the clubs for Mane or indeed Sterling at this time and it sounds rather speculative that they would go down that route - but they will be in thir thoughts as it is not working out for Vinicius Jr at this time either.}

1.) 01 Jan 2020 19:51:08
Everything that Sadio Mane wants to achieve he can achieve by staying at Liverpool fc.
I am confident that Mane will remain a red for a very long time.
ED002 thank you for such a detailed answer.

2.) 01 Jan 2020 21:25:42
What if he wants to win the FA Vase?

3.) 01 Jan 2020 23:06:12
Can’t he do that with the under twenty threes now ;)

4.) 02 Jan 2020 07:38:29
I believe it is only natural for RM or Barcelona to look at our players because they are flourishing under Klopp at the moment. However, this time around we should have the power to hold on to our key players because we've tied down Klopp on a long term contract, the club is doing pretty well at the moment and we're on course to win the Premier League, we've proven that we can win the CL and our players are reaping the benefits of being world class at the moment under Klopp. So, if a player wants to leave, it'll most likely be a case that they've won everything that needs to be won and they want to do it in a different country. Or maybe some players are not getting the minutes they expect, like Shaq. but for those who are not getting enough game time, we'd probably won't miss them that much anyway. Mane though, I feel he is vital for the team, even more than Salah in my opinion.

5.) 02 Jan 2020 12:21:56
Don’t underestimate the pull of the Spanish sunshine DAP. Football wise it would make little sense but they do have lives outside football.

6.) 02 Jan 2020 19:04:16
Beckers, I'm sure African players place less importance on Mediterranean sunshine, than say, Scandinavian or other Western Europeans.

7.) 03 Jan 2020 03:20:08
RM and Barcelona will always have the lure as long as they are successful and have world class players in their team. However, we now have a good foundation and reason for players to stay in Liverpool because we've shown that we can perform and win at the highest level. The other possible reason for leaving is money. We don't pay as much as some teams do, and although that's not a bad thing for LFC. but money dictates many things these days, so. we have to anticipate that as well.

8.) 03 Jan 2020 08:48:01
DAP - "A good foundation" that's a massive understatement. Agreed on the money side but I expect the better we do on the field the more money will be earnt. Some of the extra will of course be paid to the players. VVD, Mane, Salah they all should be on £300k a week in todays market.

Hilarious, sell if he doesn't sign a new deal.

2.) 06 May 2025 21:53:27
I agree in principle Slot's Barber, but we're into "you can't force a player to leave" territory again though. **If** this is true (let's not judge the guy already), he might refuse to leave this summer in the knowledge that he can join Real for free in the summer of 2026.

3.) 06 May 2025 22:20:52
Refuse to leave then rot in reserves. This has got to stop.

4.) 06 May 2025 22:33:19
Send him on loan to Barcelona or Atletico Madrid for a season.

5.) 06 May 2025 22:56:42
Completely agree. He signs or we sell. Simple as that.

I think PSG would buy him and he would go there.

Hopefully he signs.

6.) 06 May 2025 23:03:43
Aye, tell PSG they have to buy him and Konate that he is going and where he is going.
That'll work.

7.) 06 May 2025 23:06:41
He's not going to want benched in a world cup season, so he'll sign or go I reckon, don't see him running down his contract.

8.) 06 May 2025 23:57:55
All the power is with the players I'm afraid. The Chelsea scheme of 8 year contracts is beginning to look smart.

9.) 07 May 2025 03:30:29
The most probable scenario following Konate’s ‘one day I’d like to play for PSG comments is that PSG are willing to wait until his contract is completed. Konate is willing to wait as his signing on fee will be a lot more ‘generous’ if PSG don’t have to fork out @ £70m to sign him.

Liverpool fans can jump up and down about him being sold but, in reality there is not a lot they can do if Konate is happy to see out the remainder of his contract. Not picking him is, at best, unprofessional, and, at worst, potentially very expensive - if we, say, fail to qualify for the CL in 26/ 27 or miss out on the PL next season as we didn’t pick our best CB pairing. From a human point of view it’s also very petty and childish and, as with TAA this season, won’t happen.

From an objective perspective, there’s no point wasting energy worrying about it, but from most people’s subjective perspective, ‘fill yer boots’. Some people, it seems, like to worry, even if they can only worry about not having anything to worry about.

10.) 07 May 2025 05:54:54
It’s all just noise, really. Look at how Romano phrases it - he says they could come in for him, then shifts the weight to Marca by saying they reported it. It’s his way of keeping his hands clean, he never outright says it’ll happen. Posts like this are crafted to stir engagement. He’s clever with his wording and can be reliable, sure, but this kind of stuff? It’s just nonsense.

11.) 07 May 2025 07:23:20
Why would we bench him?!
For doing what he and the club both signed up to do.
He's just helped us win the League and he might fancy a change after fulfilling his obligations to us.
I don't see the problem.

12.) 07 May 2025 07:40:56
It is not a problem if the club can somehow miraculously find money from somehwere to replace / add players without any substantial player sales.

13.) 07 May 2025 08:08:22
He's on 200k less than the captain pw so I'd be leaving unless given a huge pay rise.

14.) 07 May 2025 08:14:03
@House, Is it a rule that it’s not really a signing if you don’t spend tens of millions? Is it always going to work out perfectly if you spend big money? We spent £ 48m on Keita and £ 64m on Nunez and that doesn’t include add-ons £ 112m - it’s enough to make you cry.

15.) 07 May 2025 08:17:46
Not sure what your point is @WDW, but if you are able to replace Konate wihtout spending money then I am all for it. what is your course of plan? Academy? Mind you, you need to replace the same quality.

16.) 07 May 2025 08:53:59
Housey, the club doesn't need to miraculously find money for replacements though. The club generates money from a lot of sources and doesn't rely on substantial player sales.
The club will be fully aware and will prepare for, or should prepare for, Konate's contract coming to an end. If we bought to sell we'd be listing players or listening to offers for them after a season or two.

The same happened to PSG with Mbappe and there's nothing to stop Liverpool looking to recruit someone entering the final year of a contract for free the following year. We did it with Matip.
If it's about wages, the club might decide he isn't worth what he wants and is prepared to let him go for free and replace him with someone it sees as better value.

17.) 07 May 2025 10:51:39
Lets happinly disagree on the first para @Rigsby. Liverpool football club mostly relies on sales to cover the new purchases.

I am all for quality and not quandity. A good center backs cost north of £60 mill. if the club can find someone in his last year of contract then excellent news.

18.) 07 May 2025 11:14:29
@House, as @Rigsby has alluded to, in the event of the lack of a transfer fee for Konate the club doesn’t necessarily need to ‘miraculously’ find money for a replacement.

My point was that, assuming funds are available, spending a lot of money isn’t necessarily the obvious answer and, even if we do spend a massive amount, it is no guarantee of the incoming player being necessarily successful.

In addition, and again to Rigsby’s point, there are many other revenue streams (like CL revenue this season) that may (or may not) be factored into any funding for transfers. Incomings aren’t solely reliant on outgoings.

19.) 07 May 2025 11:28:34
Soon as I seen this thread . I knew I'd see the usual suspects telling us about we can't do anything about Konate contract. he signed we have to abide with it blah blah. if they don't sign. you never play them again, might hurt us for a few games but so what. its about being tough so we don't have these problems again . we can easily stop this rot of players running contracts down if we show some fight.

20.) 07 May 2025 11:33:11
It boils down to whether you want a quality player however you can get him or whether you want to play transfer top trumps and only go for the most expensive option.
Ask United fans how that worked out in Slabhead's case.
And they still can't shift him.

21.) 07 May 2025 12:17:16
If we keep letting players leave for free, we'll never win the transfer window.

22.) 07 May 2025 12:39:05
Konate was most likely approached about a contract. This is another trent situation. The lad will run his contract down here because of the benefits and possibly psg or real Madrid. Disgraceful stuff has went on here.

23.) 07 May 2025 12:52:02
Stromsgodset, good luck recruiting players at a club with that attitude ?.
A five year contract is for five years. Not four and then you re-sign another even if the terms are not favourable or you are sold to a club that you may not want to go to.
Every club loses players on free transfers because another contract can't be agreed to by both parties.
What's so difficult to understand?
What do you do when your phone contract is up? You are free to look elsewhere.

24.) 07 May 2025 13:02:44
Agreed batman. If this is the new model of transfer strategy then the 3 or 4 richest clubs who can doctor finances will start simply getting into the ear of players 2 or 3 years I'm advance to get them to leave on a free.

Maybe the chelsea 6 or 7 year contracts are the best option in future.

{Ed001's Note - what do you mean start? Madrid have been doing this since the Bosman ruling. They spent years working on Mbappe - very publicly as well, in a way that should have been shut down by UEFA as tapping up.}

25.) 07 May 2025 13:12:11
My point was that, assuming funds are available,

Yea that's the point @WDW we are all waiting for. We need a minimum 6 players to come in without any Player sale. there you go.

26.) 07 May 2025 14:29:31
Of course we need fees for any outgoing players in order to compete. Your living in cloud cuckoo land if you think we can keep waving players off for nowt and still fight for the biggest prizes.

27.) 07 May 2025 15:32:46
Ed01, that's how they got R9, Zizou and all their glalacticos. the only diff. was that they had to pay big money for these players once they trew their strops to force a move.

Now, they just tap them up and let them know they won't be signed until the run down their contracts. I guess the economy is tight. Even for these rich clubs like RM and Bayern who do the same thing with German player in the Bundesliga.

28.) 07 May 2025 17:50:00
Rigsby let's go down your route then eh. sign players n let them all leave for nothing. see how long we last before going bankrupt. this isn't the same as phone contracts is it . it a football club . we spend what we earn. so why is that so difficult for you to understand.

29.) 07 May 2025 19:26:20
It's not my route, Stropsgodset. It's the law.
Do you think the club relies on transfer fees to stave off bankruptcy and do you think all our players are going to leave on frees?
We've just seen the club re-sign van Dijk and Salah.
Last summer we got in over £50m from Carvalho, van den Berg and Clark.
You are looking for a problem that isn't there.

30.) 07 May 2025 21:00:53
Rigsby . its a known fact we spend what we earn. n the players seem to leave on free's VVD N salah are 2 exceptios n they took it to the wire . while your bandwagoning the ruthless footballers because they've signed a contract . we have to be ruthless aswel. its football not human rights yano.

31.) 07 May 2025 23:21:34
Do you not think football and human rights overlap, Stromsgodset?
