Saw a name being brandished a bit and wondered what's the possibilities eds, what's the situation with Luciano Vietto? Does LFC or any other english teams hold any interest in the kid?

LionRed

{Ed002's Note - There is no "situation" with Vietto and he sure as hell won't be moving to Liverpool in January.}

I posted yesterday about Dries Mertens. And Read through the search function off him. Ed if Suarez were to leave would that not make him a possible replacement?. cause I can't imagine Iago or Alberto being his replacement and is it true that he is close to a move to Aston Villa? {Ed001's Note - the only teams I know that have held talks regarding him, were Villa and Newcastle. Neither are actually close to signing him, that I am aware of.}

Glad for the victory! But quick question. before he scored an absolute stunner did anyone else get frustrated with Coutinho's selfish play at times?

LionRed

1.) 09 Aug 2015 20:40:11
No. He doesn't score that goal if he passes it.I get frustrated with this trying to pass it in the net.

2.) 09 Aug 2015 20:54:07
Well I expect him to shoot from distance and score some goals which he has revealed his desire to.

3.) 09 Aug 2015 22:05:01
I thought he was rusty all game but provided the magic when we needed it.

4.) 09 Aug 2015 22:31:06
Good goal but just as last season will shoot from distance about 8 times and most won't go in be happy if he can produce more long range goals to his game.

5.) 09 Aug 2015 23:15:59
Great goal, got some crackers for us last season too but I think he's over-rated.

I didn't think he was our best player last season (not consistent enough) and these links (made up or not) with Barcelona seem nuts to me. He's a very good player and I'm glad we have him but I hope he is more consistent this season.

So I'm just going to go out and say it. Milner would be a stupid signing in my opinion. Wages are too high, he's overrated and he's old now. Mark my words this signing will be another flop,

Anybody watch Konoplyanka last night? The kid is dynamite! Ed or Macca please tell me we're still interested or are the people in charge of ransfers at LFC to stubborn to do business with Dnipro?

LionRed

{Ed001's Note - we have shown no signs of reigniting our interest, even though his agent keeps trying to get us to move for him.}

1.) 28 May 2015 08:09:34
2 weeks ago, Macca stated that LFC were still intrested in him. At the moment he would improve the starting 11.

{Ed001's Note - I know what Macca said, but I know we have shown no intent or he would have already had a deal signed. He is very keen on joining us, his agent is very keen on him joining us, it is only the club holding off.}

2.) 28 May 2015 08:29:25
He'd be a great signing. Either we have no interest in him or are waiting until the sterling situation tobget resolved before making a move. Would be a better option than the likes of walcott and cheryshev

3.) 28 May 2015 08:34:30
Amy idea why the club are showing no interest in a player they went to great lengths to sign before ed?

{Ed001's Note - we went in a different direction. It does seem odd to me as well.}

4.) 28 May 2015 08:39:30
Ed do you believe it having to be with getting the sterling story set first and him only being signed/approached in case sterling does leave?

{Ed001's Note - and Markovic, we bought him last summer as Kono was not a possibility then.}

5.) 28 May 2015 09:02:38
So the one good player who wants to come and we close the door? Brilliant.

6.) 28 May 2015 10:35:36
The club is certainly in no position to be turning down players that can improve our first 11 and with sterling set to go he's a ready made replacement. Ed's I heard somewhere he's on huge wages 200k odd? I assume he would want an increase on that given he would be on a free? I seem to recall he was willing to take a pay cut to join us last year. Could it just be the wages?

{Ed002's Note - This is all nonsense. Sorry.}

7.) 28 May 2015 09:27:24
Question for Ed 1 if possible, the owners are getting advice on all aspects of the football side of things right? Surely whoever is advising has mentioned the fact that procrastinating and being so indecisive is limiting options as time goes on to bring in quality we need? (managerial and playing staff) Is there just too may cogs in the machine to make a quick, clear cut decision?

{Ed001's Note - it does seem to be a case of too many cogs right now. They will hopefully see that they need to return to their original ideas of having one man in charge to make the decisions. It does seem they have begun to head that way with Gordon taking a decision-making role.}

8.) 28 May 2015 11:04:22
I was asking the question as I'm sure the eds said last year he was on huge wages at dinopro?

{Ed001's Note - not that kind of money. Plus he is out of contract so it is irrelevant what he was on, only what other clubs will be willing to pay.}

9.) 28 May 2015 12:18:57
If sterling were to leave them would we sign konoplyanka as a replacement? Would seem like decent business of we are put into a position where we have to sell sterling.

{Ed001's Note - impossible to say yet, though it wouldn't be a surprise if we revived interest in that case.}

Ed 001, I've supported Liverpool for a long time now and I honestly can't think of a worse time than the current to support LFC. No players seems to be keen to join the club and all the media stories currently running is about LFC embarrassing themselves in 1 way or another, these are just stories, yes, and media likes to "spice up" a story by creating lies but I haven't read anything positive about liverpool in a long time, only positive things are stuff about our history, wich is completely irrelevant to me because I'm currently severely worried about my clubs future. What the hell is going on at our club??? And is there in all honesty anything positive to take out of the current situation at the club?

LionRed

{Ed001's Note - there is lots to be positive about with the stadium expansion underway, meaning we will have more money to spend in the future.}

1.) 23 May 2015 08:50:25
Last season was one of the most exciting in years. I agree this season was pretty depressing however most of that side is still around, so a couple of top players in, and hopefully a top coach, and we have enough talent to turn things around pretty quickly (Hendo/Coutinho/Llalana/Sakho/Sturridge/Can/Ibe etc. ) even assuming Sterling leaves

We need to be exceptionally careful in the coming months though as could unravel if we're not seen to buy in players that can make us competitive for the top 4 and players lose faith in Rogers (as I have)

2.) 23 May 2015 09:13:40
All down to selling Suarez and buying carp

3.) 23 May 2015 09:53:33
The last year of h and g's ownership was far worse.

4.) 23 May 2015 10:32:48
There are so many drama queens it's unreal.
Can't think if a worse time?
You must have been a fan for 2 seasons then.

5.) 23 May 2015 10:35:08
You can't blame the players! They are Carp as you put it. Seriously if a player is picked to lay for LFC how can you then blame players for not being good enough. and IMO some of those will absolutely be good enough but need to bed in over a year. Much as i am worried about liverpool i also do not think it unlikely we finish in top 3 next year, as long as we buy a good striker.

Eds what's the situation with Lucas digne? Any possibility for LFC?

LionRed

{Ed002's Note - There is no "situation" with Digne.}

Flanagan to start? Over Clyne? You're having a right laugh mate.

LionRed

{Ed001's Note - Flanno at his best is a far better player, the only question is if he can get back to his best.}

With Sakho and Toure in defence we'll get smashed by most teams! Moreno's not helping tbh. Maybe give Smith a chance in the prem?

Agree with the op. I would start Smith at LB, the boy has talent and can play a big part in the future at LFC. And Allen was awesome in midweek so I would start milner, allen and Lucas in the middle. Firmino, Origi and Sturridge up top. Newcastle's arguably the easear game in the next couple of weeks so give the main men (Coutinho, Henderson, Moreno) more rest. I would play a semi strong team against Sion as well, because it would be critical for us to end on top of the pool in Europa League and if they were to win they would jump us in the pool, so that's something to look out for.

To me he's definitely better than Ings. Faster, better touch. more talent really.
