Someone has started to leak the team news again from within the club.

10 May 2014 02:45:27
Sorry to throw in a random name but just came across somewhere on the internet that we could me interested in signing Alex Song. Any truth in it Eds and I would also like to know Ed001's opinion on if he'd suit us, if he's free. Thanks in advance

{Ed001's Note - I am not aware of any interest in him, thankfully. I doubt he would take the wage cut it would require to sign for us anyway.}

1.) Song and cole linked, don't think either are viable due to wages and personally I wouldn't want either. Masch however I would welcome back in a heartbeat, would others and do the eds see this as a possibility?

{Ed001's Note - it would be a surprise after the way he left.}

2.) I can't see Masch back tbh. He's a booking waiting to happen that guy.

Good player, don't get me wrong. I would have to question why he has played CB for the last few years though? Not good enough? I'm really unsure.

3.) Mr T, you question why he plays CB. I think it's because Barca have really poor central midfielders.

Does Ilori have a future at the club, the lad's gotten pi55ed at not getting a chance, how's he really fared for you Ed001, and must it have commanded a start?

{Ed001's Note - he is playing well in Spain, and he does have a future at the club, if he is prepared to knuckle down and make one. It is really up to him, but I hope he sees that he has every chance of being a regular if he puts his mind to it.}

I know of the interest in Will Hughes, but are we in negotiating terms yet or are we likely to be in, in the next month?

Question for you - I notice that during the latter stages of last season and this season we are using a more conservative style of play (more cautious about opposition breaking and overcommitting men forward) rather than the completely attack minded play from early and mid last season, as well as seasons before. By any chance has this got anything to do with Buvac (his absence) by any chance?

{Ed001's Note - slightly yes. In that he had different ideas of how to play, which was what led to him leaving.}

1.) 15 Sep 2018 21:11:34
We seem more restrained and more professional this year.
We have only conceded 2 goals and both were completely avoidable.
Still got the best defensive record in the league though, who would have thought that even at this stage.
Scary how much more there is to come from this team, we still look like we are stuck in second gear.

2.) 15 Sep 2018 21:46:02
We're starting to look like we have an ex-defender as a manager!

Seriously though- I hate how pundits are mostly just quoting how much money we spent in the summer and how it means we 'must' win the title or be a laughing stock. The question should not be 'how much', but 'how' did we spend the money? The answer is that we addressed weak areas, as opposed to the 'kid in a sweetshop', and are now a team to challenge as a result.

3.) 16 Sep 2018 09:45:17
Hi Mikey - 'We have only conceded 2 goals and both were completely avoidable' - we also scored two goals yesterday that were completely avoidable! That is the nature of the game. Our problem at the moment is that we are not taking a lot of the chances that we get. But the team is good enough to resolve that and I think that before too long some team is going to be the victim of a real hiding.

I respectfully request any one of the Ed’s to help me understand the issue Mo Salah is facing with the Egypt FA. I read it somewhere that there is some friction, not sure of the details. Thanks!

{Ed0333's Note - the Egyptian government got involved and the matter was resolved pre World Cup. I’m not aware of any new kerfuffle.

1.) 24 Jun 2018 01:03:35
The word of the week presented by Ed0333 is KERFUFFLE.

Did you guys notice that Moses Simon’s middle name has “daddy” in it :)

1.) 06 Jun 2018 06:25:48
Let’s hope he doesn’t replicate a Victor Mosses 😂😂😂😂.

2.) 06 Jun 2018 06:35:02
Ed’s can we have a ban on emojis pls?

3.) 06 Jun 2018 06:50:56
Up the pool.

4.) 06 Jun 2018 06:54:08
But why? Emoji’s are a way to express your feelings and thoughts in short! It’s harmless and non abusive. Why do you wish to ban them? 🤔🤔.

5.) 06 Jun 2018 06:56:02

Ed002 - a really weird question to you, do you consider yourself idealistic or realistic? I will understand if you do not want to answer. I am asking this to weigh in your opinions of Liverpool’s issues where you seem to give a 360 view. Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Surrealist.}

1.) 28 May 2018 08:26:04
Wondered where WDS gets it from 😄.

2.) 28 May 2018 19:04:44
Haha, sure!

Thought Hendo was really good today. No one seems to rate the lad at all. Sad that just cause he’s doesn’t ooze flair, his contributions go unnoticed. Although, I love the fact that Klopp really rates him and so does his team mates. Really respectful lad as well.

1.) 04 Mar 2018 08:05:24
On his day he's a great player people just compare him to Gerrard too much it seems.

2.) 04 Mar 2018 08:27:57
Its a pointless comparison in my opinion and i agree with you Salah mate. He had a good game yesterday!

3.) 04 Mar 2018 16:21:54
I love Hendo, people who bash him really show they don't know much about football.

To answer your question Ed, Cause we are Liverpool. We buy players for positions we are well staffed with.

His attitude deserves some form of recognition. He felt more relaxed at Sunderland and bit too anxious while he's at Liverpool. The move will do him some good. All the best, Fabio!

Ed25, I agree with you.

I love Studger. But Kane will go down as one of England’s best ever striker and rightly so. It’s clear we are biased if we say Sturridge is better than Kane. Sturridge is not, but I still love him!

{Ed025's Note - he is one of your own krishna and i get that, i think suarez helped him immensely and at the end he was just taking the piss but hes not the first one to do that mate and wont be the last..

Great review Ed 001.,

Few positives I got from the game:
- What a professional we have in Robbo! No hiding whatsoever
- Jones can and should start games. Looks up for it as I’ve mentioned previously. He should be getting at least 3-5 starts this season
- Salah looks sharper than what he looked at times last season. Seems to have dropped a little deeper with regards to his starting positions and now running at defenders. This suits him really well compared to previous 2 seasons when he received the balls a lot with back against goal
- Like the look of Jota. Looks very malleable. He’s going to be really handy for us

Few concerns:
- VVD and Keita - you’ve covered it all
- Leadership - Without Hendo and Milner I’m struggling to see where this will come from if both are unavailable
- Bobby’s form - Bobby seems to be involved in most of our successful attacks. But his retention, pass and finishing of late has been worrisome. Hopefully he grows into the season.

{Ed001's Note - thank you mate, fully agree with you.}

Really excited about Jones, Ed. He’s stepped up on a couple of occasions now, putting in one good performance after an other. Feel like he’s really knocking on the doors for a start very soon. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him start at least 3-5 games this season.

What do you make of Firmino’s recent performances Ed? Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - you mean today's performance? It is the first proper competitive game of the season. His performance was mixed, he was heavily involved in creating most of our chances, but he was also loose in possession at times. Clearly not fully fit, which is why he never pressed as much as usual, nor chased back as often. Not the worst day, but nowhere near his best.}
