If all parties find a way for Mamardashvili to go on loan to Bournemouth and then join Liverpool in 2025, do you think Neto might join us this season and compete with Jaros for the number 2 spot? Assuming Kelleher leaves.
Very experienced but not HG. Would he be a good option?

To be honest with you OP, I'm not really all that impressed by him. Perhaps I'm just spoiled by how incredible Alisson has been for us and I shouldn't compare, but IV genuinely seen nothing from Mamar that thinks he'd be a good option to be Ali's long term replacement.

Have you seen him play for Valencia at all, Westwood? Genuine question cos I haven’t and never even heard of him till the Euros.

Admittedly not Oli, so I might be completely wrong. I have watched reels of his performances including saves, command of area and goals conceded and IMO he doesn't compare to Ali. Perhaps that unfair of me because not many, if any, do. It might also be that he doesn't seem impressive because he makes it look easy, but as a minimal info judgement call, I think we could do better.
It's also worth noting I thought exactly all this about Ali before we bought him, which probably means we should get him! Haha. I suppose my main thing is that I think Ali is coming into his prime and still has at least 5 years at top level, so don't get why we would target his replacement now, unless the club know something we don't.

A player cannot be sold against their will and they cannot be forced to sign an extension. The power is all with the player. It has been this way since Bosman.
Surprised people so agitated about contracts. Call me naive but I trust they know what they are doing.

It will be interesting to see how AG develops this season. I think he has the attributes to be a top CF. A deal to be done next summer with 12 months on his contract.

Just speculating but maybe the flip-flopping was due to an expectation of Saudi bids for Mo and Virgil, that clearly never materialized.
Overall spend was down on the previous year. Perhaps FFP/ PSR is starting to focus minds. If we are moving toward squad building based on sustainable business models and not financial doping this has to be good for us in the long run.
Personally I'm happy with the approach and trust they know what they are doing. I don't buy the contract situation is down to incompetence. It's a strategy for Mo and Virgil.
For Trent, I suspect there's been conversations and he's not willing to commit. Next summer he will be 26, in his prime. Real sniffing around. It's probably tempting, expecially given the squad they are building. Become a club legend or a galactico?
Let's just enjoy the season. Looking good so far :)

Gordon is versatile, can play RW as well as LW.
Also, there is a thinking he might be a very good CF . maybe he replaces Nunez!

Not for me. There will be plenty of games for both Trent and Conor to shine in their best positions
We effectively play with a back three when in position and Trent as a deep-lying playmaker, which he is perfect for.
I'm concerned about LCB/ LB. There are good options out there, Inacio/ Hincapie and Ait-Nouri for the LB. Wondering if we might have another run at Levi Colwill late in the window.
