Hi Eds. Hearing that LFC are showing a significant interest in Marc Casado of Barcelona. Any truth to this?
Thanks again.
Number 20 will always remain in our hearts. YNWA.
{Ed001's Note - I have no idea right now sorry.}
1.) 06 Jul 2025 16:43:47
I seen this too, apparently a Zubimendi type midfielder but younger. His stats look good but that’s not what he should be judged on. Maybe a possible makeweight if a deal for Diaz materialises, player plus cash.
2.) 06 Jul 2025 19:55:18
@Kob, if that the ex captain of the B side, a CDM, 20 year old approx, I would take him all day long, I saw his debut, the Dutch boy injured yet yet again, Casado if I’m correct same player, started.
He likes a tackle, happy to take the ball under pressure, pass the ball on, but also plays forward too, if you can hunt down his assist on his debut, it was a diagonal pass through 3 opposition players into the stride of the goal scorer a wow vision moment, no fluke.
He is going to be a star, I think tho he signed new contract?
But other than the obvious Pedri, Yamal, id have this guy I would love, him and Grav at base, wirtz as 10, what a 3 that’ll be.
3.) 06 Jul 2025 20:19:56
Maybe Casado plus cash for Diaz and we replace Diaz with Fofana of Lyon.
4.) 06 Jul 2025 22:28:11
Marc Casado is an even better upgrade of Zubimendi! Top top top player!
04 Jun 2025 09:03:50
Mundo Deportivo saying that Diaz has agreed personal terms with Barcelona.
1.) 04 Jun 2025 10:21:41
They better be prepared to pay the asking price, or throw in a certain CB.
2.) 04 Jun 2025 23:19:58
Do they have any money?
02 Jun 2025 19:03:28
Adler in Germany reporting that Ekitike prefers Chelsea over LFC.
1.) 02 Jun 2025 19:12:22
Good, another bad signing by Chelsea ?.
2.) 02 Jun 2025 19:12:28
He clearly has tremendously poor judgement.
As Viktor would say - "Hard pass"
3.) 02 Jun 2025 19:14:40
Go Hugo enjoy the bull rubbish at the Bridge.
4.) 02 Jun 2025 19:15:02
He’s a United supporter apparently, so clearly he’s an imbecile of one kind or another.
5.) 02 Jun 2025 19:32:05
No Liverpool fan seriously wants to spunk that kind of money on this Kid.
I don’t see how he even improves our line up?
He’d make Chelsea better, he’d make Liverpool worse.
6.) 02 Jun 2025 19:36:58
Anyone that goes to Utd or CFC over lFC are not going for sporting reasons, however i do think one of Ekitike or Sesko are going to be a raging success in the longer term.
7.) 02 Jun 2025 20:23:53
Seems it’s between.
Isak. Would cost a lot and unlikely, but I’d take.
Martinez. Possible for me. May want a new challenge.
Alvarez. Seems unlikely as his family never settled in the UK, but I’d take.
Vlahovic. Possible for me and I’d take for right price.
Etikite. Looks likely Chelsea.
Osimhem. Looks like Saudi.
Rodrygo. Looks unlikely. Not sure on.
Gonsalves. Possible, but I’d pass
I’d only have a problem with it being Osimhem, Etikite, Gonsalves or Rodrygo.
Out of them.
8.) 02 Jun 2025 20:24:43
Id stay clear of him and go get oshimen simple. great work rate / good hold up play/ good in the air/ and guaranteed to score goals ?.
9.) 02 Jun 2025 20:26:08
Worth probably half of what Frankfurt are quoting. Sounds like a chelsea signing for sure.
10.) 02 Jun 2025 20:47:59
I suspect we’ll go for Goncelves Ramos as a “data” signing, he’s available, won’t break the bank, scores goals, good all round play, excellent in the air and statistically he’s very strong. Not saying that’s who I’d like us to sign as that’s Isak, Alvarez or Sesko (think he’s got massive potential), but I think if we’re blowing £100m plus on Wirtz I can’t see us going stupid on a striker. The.
11.) 02 Jun 2025 21:14:45
For some reason Ramos gives me “Solanke vibes”.
12.) 02 Jun 2025 21:31:44
Ekitike is very similar to Nunez except for one absolutely mega important fact, he plays with his head up and his feet closer to the ground. I'm not dissing Nunez, he's a few skills away from being an awesome player, but those are coached skills whereas for Ekitike they come naturally. Osimhem for me, is a solo artist, his time at Napoli showed his motives and his camps priorities, not a team player. Alavez is a great talent but won't play in the EPL again yet. Isak won't gel with Salah, and we've hung our hat on Salah's peg. There are 10's of finishers out there that fit our style including a fit Jota.
13.) 02 Jun 2025 21:41:55
You'll all hate me for saying it, but given the fees and wages being demanded, and with a PL under our belt, I'd try for another season with Núñez rather than pay £80m++ for another risky signing who may not suit either.
By all means bring in a lower cost young striker with potential, but these kind of sums for players who aren't proven seems pretty silly to me.
(Mind you, I'd be happy to use next season as a dead rubber training season! )
14.) 02 Jun 2025 22:32:08
Ekitike looks like he is a cut above our current strikers in the areas of link up play and carrying the ball. Im not convinced about his striking of the ball but coaching could improve this.
10 May 2025 00:29:13
Hi Eds. Some noise occurring around Vanderson from AS Monaco being a potential right back target for LFC. Any opinions on the player and is the interest legitimate?
Thanks again.
{Ed001's Note - he is a target and he is, like Frimpong, very capable of playing further forward down the right as well. Very attacking. I have not seen him under pressure defensively to judge that side of his game at all.}
1.) 10 May 2025 09:08:34
Ed, brighten up our weekend. Do you know who else is a definite target?
{Ed001's Note - the only other right-back, that I can think of, that has not been mentioned before on here, is the young Brentford lad - Kayode.}
2.) 10 May 2025 10:17:21
And for other positions Ed?
{Ed001's Note - nobody I can think of that hasn't been mentioned.}
3.) 10 May 2025 10:21:57
Is that the Italian boy that was at fiorentina ed? I wasn't aware that Brentford had signed him. He's a highly rated prospect if it's the same fella.
{Ed001's Note - they have him on loan with an option to buy mate or obligation maybe, not sure now. Looks a very good player. I never realised he was Italian, he was mentioned to me as Nigerian, but it must be the same lad. Maybe eligible for both?}
4.) 10 May 2025 10:35:46
Great shout on Kayode. Only seen him coming on as a sub, but he changed the games I saw.
5.) 10 May 2025 10:40:28
Do you think the Dutch connection and home grown status makes frimpong more likely? Especially if transfer fees are similar.
Cheers.
{Ed001's Note - I don't know, the data is what will decide it, not sure what the stats would say with regard to them.}
6.) 10 May 2025 11:24:55
Cheers Ed!
7.) 10 May 2025 13:35:25
That's odd ed, from what I've seen of vanderson (which admittedly is not a lot) he doesn't look at all like a very attacking full back, he seems more like a conventional right back who can offer something going forwards but doesn't specialise in it, though he seems tactically astute, can tuck in to a back three out of possession and is defensively more solid than frimpong without offering close to the same threat going forwards. He is very fast and his pressing and tackling metrics higher up the field are good though.
8.) 10 May 2025 13:10:59
Yeah, think he's eligible for both ed, sure he's played for the Italian u21s before. We've got good relations with Brentford it seems, think we can ask them to buy him and we'll throw a couple of extra million for him? A joke of course. I must say I don't think a young RB is the way forward, need to give Bradley every chance to make it. I really like your previous suggestion of sugawara from Southampton, no idea why he wasn't a regular there as he's looked good every time I've seen him, even the odd game I saw him play in Holland.
{Ed001's Note - Kayode can also play on the left and on the wing mate apparently.}
9.) 10 May 2025 18:55:56
Ed001
When you mention stats, is there an online source us plebs can look at to see these kinds of data they're using for selecting potentials? I wondered if the stats are measured/ off set against parameters that other leagues have different weightings - so if a player comes from Italy or Spain and plays in a certain type of set-up, it would be differently measured against a player from Greece or Poland who plays in a certain set-up in another team.
{Ed001's Note - there are a few sites, sofascore, opta for example. Each statistician usually comes up with their own parameters to measure players against each other. So each will have their own ideas about how to factor in the league they play in etc.}
06 May 2025 12:51:05
Hi Eds. Hope you're well.
A question around the upcoming transfer window/ s. Do you see us completing player signings early or will it mostly depend upon the outgoings being completed first?
Thanks again.
{Ed001's Note - business will not be wholly dependent on outgoings, there is no way I can know about timings, even Ed002 couldn't give any kind of info with regard to that. Negotiations can be time consuming.}
1.) 06 May 2025 12:57:04
Hi Ed are you aware of us approaching anyone as yet I. e Cunha or Huijsen?
{Ed001's Note - no mate.}
2.) 06 May 2025 13:38:08
You'd expect the Huijsen decision happen fairly quickly as Chelsea want him and they are off to the Club World Cup in June.
I'd like to think that a huge amount of groundwork has gone into the LB and no9 targets, and we won't be "flip flopping" like last summer.
The rest are probably difficult to predict.
3.) 06 May 2025 13:46:57
We have with Marmashvilli coming 16 overseas players. We are allowed max 17. This means we can add 1 net overseas player.
It is highly unlikely that we would allow Elliot, Gomez and Quansah to leave without purchasing English players?
4.) 06 May 2025 16:08:56
Hello oldkemlyn, well spotted and most informative, surely there will be overseas players being moved out as well to balance the oversea players coming in, three current forwards spring to mind immediately (one I don't want to go sadly but? )
As if we are to carry on with this current title winning squad, then it may not be a title winning squad next year, other clubs will improve their playing strength Champions should be no different, LFC summer transfer plans should be no different to the old winning title title teams which were strengthened every year in the hope of improvement.
The old adage still applies "stand still and rest on your laurels in Football, and you will be overtaken very quickly"
Five/ Six Top Class players I hope for are another Top Class Central Defender to partner/ compete with VVD/ Ibou, two top class full backs, another Top Class defensive midfielder like GravenBLOCK (as Arne would not like to suffer the same fate for a season like the Citizens did without Rodri) and obviously a World Class Striker, Rodrygo/ Osmihen would be very likeable for me.
The Liverpool Echo last night ran an article on LFCs very keen interest in Rodrygo!
5.) 06 May 2025 16:33:52
Don’t shoot the messenger but it’s a rumour site after all. I’ve heard a deal has been agreed to sign Huijsen.
Person who told me has been spot on before. Not claiming to be in the know, just passing on what I’ve been told.

19 May 2025 12:05:36
Hi Eds. Fabrizio Romano saying that Cunha is close to agreeing personal terms with Man U. Does this mean that LFC are not going in for him?
Thanks again.
{Ed001's Note - I am sure he will post up another 20 updates about it over the next couple of days and then when/if Cunha goes elsewhere, he will post up about how it fell through.}
1.) 19 May 2025 15:07:05
He is no ed002
And ever since our legend went home, he’s been spousing randoms in hope of getting some right
As ed025 alludes, even a broken clock is right twice a day, so he’s about as accurate as that.
2.) 19 May 2025 14:32:36
Thanks Ed001. Your insight is invaluable as ever!
3.) 19 May 2025 14:41:24
Even a broken clock is right twice a day Ed.
4.) 19 May 2025 15:28:11
Romano isn't fit to carry the late great ex-Rodeo Clown's boots, @Sg. Absolute spoofer, that Romano.
5.) 19 May 2025 15:35:19
Ed, where IS Cunha going, apart from to Hell, eventually?
{Ed001's Note - no idea mate. His agent is desperately trying to drum up interest as Cunha wants a move.}
6.) 19 May 2025 15:58:35
I don’t see why fans on here want him so much. He’s a decent player, but we’re the Champions.
We’re the best team in the country we should be aiming a lot higher than Cunha and Delap etc.
7.) 19 May 2025 18:49:04
He’s a clear upgrade on what we have and is available at an affordable price.
We’d be daft if we weren’t interested.
8.) 19 May 2025 19:07:41
Never mentioned Delap once, man.
12 May 2025 22:48:15
Hi Eds. Fabrizio Romano confirming 'real interest' in Jorrel Hato by LFC. What's your thoughts on the player, would he be a good alternative if Huijsen doesn't happen?
Thanks again.
{Ed001's Note - I don't see him as related to Huijsen, he is more likely to be a left-back signing for us with an option to cover centre-back.}
1.) 13 May 2025 05:11:26
Ed, a lot of journalist saying Kerkez is the preferred option for the LB and Frimpong as RB option. Do you think it would be better to go for a more defensive LB in Hato instead of Kerkez if we are going after Frimpong?
As having 2 fullback that love going forward will put a lot of pressure on our CB. Van Dijk are not getting younger and having 2 attacking fullback would left a lot of spaces for our opponents to counter.
2.) 13 May 2025 05:11:26

{Ed001's Note - I am not really that big a fan of Kerkez, so yes. It just worries me, on top of his positional woes and inconsistent delivery, that every match sees him go down with cramp and be out on his feet after 75-80 mins.}
3.) 13 May 2025 08:50:48
The new Trent and Robbo partnership incoming. Whipping crosses into Isak.
4.) 13 May 2025 09:34:12
Kerkez/ Robobo and Frimpong/ Bradley marauding up the flanks is a frightening prospect. I'd predict that's worth 5-10 goals and 20-30 assists a season (all comps) from LB and RB.
I like an all out attack personally. The opposition can't score if you're in their final 3rd controlling the territory and possession.
5.) 13 May 2025 09:45:00
Gotta be honest, with what Ed has said with regards to Kerkez I've changed my mind and hope we go for Hato instead. From what I've seen of him, he looks a very accomplished young defender who I think excites me more than Kerkez. If we could somehow get Hato, Huijsen and Frimpong that would really strengthen our backline options as well as giving competition and options on that right side too.
Then go get Isak. or. (ore realistically) Cunha and maybe Baleba if possible.
That would certainly get the sap running down my leg!
6.) 13 May 2025 10:01:34
MK Scouser, I love the idea, but Newcastle 1996.
7.) 13 May 2025 10:18:58
Hato makes more and more sense after hearing the Frimpong news.
8.) 13 May 2025 10:31:37
The problem is that other teams are built in a way to give you the possession and hurt you in an instant going the other way. Even the most exciting attacking and possession dominant team in European football this year, Barcelona, went out the cl to a team that was happy ceding possession and making chances count when they had an opportunity. Slot is building a team that can control the game, with or without the ball, but he looks perfectly happy for us to go without the ball for large spells or even the majority of the game given the opposition. that seems to me to be the way that we have scored a lot of our goals this year, by creating dangerous transitions when we don't have the ball- squeeze and corral the opposition into one side of the pitch, create space somewhere else and attack that as quickly as possible.
9.) 13 May 2025 11:22:46
Like ed002 used to say young men don't exite me but if we go with Frimpong for RB then someone like Hato is perfect for LB, he can tuck in to a back 3, invert to a DM which i have seen him do for Ajax.
10.) 13 May 2025 11:52:04
Personally don't like all this CB at fullback stuff. Only thing its good for is squad building and being able to give people games. Would much rather a real FB there. I'd like Hato because he looks a good player but if your talking about some broought in solely to play LB i would go with Kerkez.
11.) 13 May 2025 12:13:30
With Frimpong looking more and more likely, bringing Jorrell Hato for left back makes a lot more sense. Perhaps, in an ideal world you would get Hato and Kerkez, but that sounds like too much change in one summer.
I get that this CB at fullback trend seems a bit odd to some but it's simply down to the game changing. It's almost like the keepers and CBs are playmakers, fullbacks are playing like DMs, no8s are more more like no10s and wide forwards are a cross between wingbacks and strikers.
12.) 13 May 2025 14:53:01
Besides VVD and Murillo pinging the long ones i hadnt really noticed all these CB's becoming the new Bergkamps, Zola's and David Silva's of the Premier League. Thanks for that FPF.
13.) 13 May 2025 17:38:07
I think Frimpong is going to united tbh.
14.) 13 May 2025 19:40:32
After Robbos performance on Sunday and this season it might be good for him to retire now and joint he coaching staff.
10 May 2025 13:14:11
Hi Eds. I know it's been stated on here by yourselves that Alvarez and his wife could not settle well here in the UK, with that in mind should we discount all of the current links to him pointing towards a possible signing by LFC? Or is it a case of 'never say never? '
Thanks again.
{Ed001's Note - it just makes it very unlikely rather than completely impossible.}
1.) 10 May 2025 14:39:38
Arne Slots wife and children stayed in Holland all last year, could Alvarez not follow suit. Who has the more difficult job to perform day in day out, the manager or a player?
Mikel Jauregizar is LFCs top midfield target this season.
2.) 10 May 2025 19:56:26
Why would Alvarez want to do that though 007?
I’m struggling to understand why any player would want to sacrifice living in the same house as his wife and family if he doesn’t need to.
It’s not like it would be an opportunity he couldn’t turn down to join us. Let’s be real. We’re a big club but so are Atletico Madrid. I can’t see it.
3.) 10 May 2025 21:57:31
I thought Slot’s, and his wife’s main consideration was their children education and the stage they were act in their schooling. I think I read that early in the season and that they would look at it again at the end of the. Dutch school season.
4.) 10 May 2025 23:43:42
School year.
5.) 11 May 2025 06:27:27
Hopefully Slot will move them when the Dutch school transfer window opens WDW ?.
6.) 11 May 2025 08:27:21
As we saw with Zubimendi sometimes these issues magically disappear.
MZ didn’t want to leave the mountains and the food in Sociedad.
12 months later he’s moving to North London.
A lot of players listen to the agents then make up “rubbish” about their personal lives.
Cowards - that’s what they are.
05 May 2025 18:05:29
I've seen the team have 2 main areas of creativity upto the front players this season, one has obviously been Trent with the other coming through VVD's long balls. I can see us going for another avenue of creativity to add to the war chest in the new season. Question is who is that likely to be considering all of the players that we are being linked with? For me, it would have to be a midfielder with that pinpoint passing accuracy. Any ideas anyone?
1.) 05 May 2025 18:10:08
I would get a quality left back who can really pass a ball. Is there a left back like trent out there? ?
I'd get a worldie attacking midfielder and worldie 9 in isak. I'd be happy with 3 top top signings and wait another window to address other areas.
2.) 05 May 2025 18:14:48
Any names that come to mind Batman? Maybe even a midfielder that can make those piercing runs, but no name really comes to my limited knowledge.
3.) 05 May 2025 18:30:03
The answer is already here, sign Zubimendi plays next to GravenBLOCK which releases Mac Allister to be the attacking midfielder, our already here version of Kevin De Bruyne.
Arne is strengthening the Spine first like all other great past LFC managers Goalkeeper Mamardashvili signed last season, Huijsen, Zubimendi, Rodrygo one can only dream!
To be the Best you have to have the Best!
4.) 05 May 2025 19:08:03
Not that we've been linked too kobe. Kerkez is a good player but not that type of left back. We have bradley at right back who's more traditional, he's no cancelo or trent hence why I'd seek a left back in the form of a real passer.
Bradley can be special in his own right. Good energy, awareness, gets into really great positions naturally but has to improve his final pass. At times he should shoot instead of passing. For me, he lacks that confidence. He hasn't been giving the full backing which is such a shame with slot knowing trent was leaving.
5.) 05 May 2025 21:05:21
Who is GravenBLOCK?
04 May 2025 23:26:44
Plenty of us on here were posing the question around Slot's lack of squad rotation this season. I think that today's performance went some way to proving the manager right.
1.) 04 May 2025 23:52:35
I think that's unfair.
Rotation isn't making 6-7 changes to the starting line-up each week.
first game after a week of celebrating and then we throw out a team do a job away from home against a team chasing Champions league places.
Either way, I would say that Slot and co have their summer plans already sorted. I'd doubt that performances in the next 4 games will be changing that other than something extraordinary.
2.) 04 May 2025 23:54:58
I do agree we need better quality in depth. But the game was a total dead rubber.
It meant absolutely nothing to Liverpool, leagues done over.
3.) 05 May 2025 00:03:31
Ah be fair. I'm not saying Slot was wrong throughout the season as he won the league but no one was asking him to swap six players at a time either. Lack of cohesion with so many changes was a big factor. Don't think this game proves anything but I do think some players failed to make the impression they would have wanted and I would have hoped for. Still hoping Elliott in particular gets more opportunities between now and end of season.
4.) 05 May 2025 06:15:37
Even though we did make 6 changes it was only Quansah, Endo and Elliot that were coming in from the cold.
Tsimikas, Jones and Jota have started plenty of games this season so they have no excuses.
Chiesa looked sluggish from the bench and Darwin is still due to come good any day soon.
The results now are absolutely meaningless but the performances should still be looked at. There’s going to be a lot of LFC fans that spend a lot of money to watch their team these last 3 games and also yesterday.
5.) 05 May 2025 06:25:23
Elliott was mostly anonymous, Gravenburch is essential and Nunez missed a sitter. Nothing new that we didn't already know.
6.) 05 May 2025 07:01:57
I second JK23. Curtis Jones has been at the club for 8 years and I don't think he has improved at all.
7.) 05 May 2025 08:38:54
Spot on, Davey and Faith. Nobody was saying Slot should be making 6/ 7 changes as rotation so those saying that need to relax with the hyperbolic stuff. You cannot make 6/ 7 changes away at Chelsea in a game that mattered to them (CL footie) with players that have rarely played all season and expect them to play fluid, free flowing football regardless of your depth cos it's all about rhythm.
In fact, one can argue that had Slot been rotating a lot more (2/ 3 changes max when required), said players would have been more in rhythm and prolly play lot better. And as Davey said, this game is not the best one to judge players even tho, I admit that some players did not do themselves any favours like Quansah, for ex. Darwin? I just shrugged and moved on.
Sure, we need quality depth BUT let's not start acting like all the other things the boys above have mentioned did not impact us cos well, they did at a fundamental level.
8.) 05 May 2025 09:27:18
@House of cards, 8 years ago Jones was 15 / 16. In a rowing boat the things that hold the oars in place are called row locks (or rollocks) . What you are saying, by coincidence actually rhymes.
9.) 05 May 2025 09:36:48
Well they say Trent has been at the club for 20 years lol @WDW.

Sky News reporting Diogo and his brother passed away in a car crash. Really sad news. Thoughts go to the family. YNWA.
18 Jun 2025 11:03:23
I heard that Newcastle played a certain way last season to accommodate Isak's injury concerns. This meant there was a worry about his tracking back and how he would fit into Slots system. However, there is a possibility Slot might play a different system next season. His signings so far seem to point towards that. That might mean that Isak won't be required to track back so much so his signing would now make more sense. As well as his booyaka class in front of goal of course!
06 May 2025 07:55:26
Does that mean the other 10 percent is with him having someone's arm up his rectum?
16 Apr 2025 22:46:46
Now, now, there's no need to make that judgement about Ed001.
{Ed014's Note - plus the very quick bit is total fabrication ???
