Hello Ed02.
I see we are linked with Fabian Ruiz of Napoli. Absolutely brilliant player. He seems not extending the contract. Any information mate?

Keitas shinpad

{Ed002's Note - Fabian Ruiz (CM/DM/AM) is still seen by Real Madrid as a replacement for Kroos and/or Modric but is not first choice - although they could still turn to him and are keeping their interest known to Napoli. There have been discussions with his agent involving Manchester City and Bayern Munich. Napoli have also met and spoken with Barcelona who see him as a replacement for Pjanic - but the not unrealistic €60M asking price (not the €100M Aurelio De Laurentiis is demanding) as money is still an issue for them. I am not aware of any approach to his agent or Napoli by Liverpool. His agent thinks that PSG could also look to him.}

1.) 07 Dec 2021 19:50:05
Thanks mate. Napoli are hard to deal with but he is a pretty good replacement for Wijnaldum. He is technically very good.

2.) 08 Dec 2021 08:07:54
He could be nearly as good as Morton’s going to be.

08 Nov 2021 12:18:55
Whoever gets Declan Rice is a proper invesment in the center midfeild for the next 10 years. One of the very good players in the league.
Any remote chance Ed02, Liverpool to do some black magic, raise a few quid and make an offer?

Keitas shinpad

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool have shown no interest in him.}

1.) 08 Nov 2021 13:45:19
Thanks, mate. It's a shame. brilliant player btw.

2.) 08 Nov 2021 20:16:14
He’s never going to play for us. Just like Bellingham, Haaland, Mbappe, Chiesa, and previously, Sancho, Havertz, Werner et al.

{Ed025's Note - VVVV, whats happened to you mate?, you were never this miserable..

3.) 08 Nov 2021 20:59:42
25, joking right? 😂.

{Ed025's Note - no drogie, he was never this pessimistic mate, i dont know how hed feel if he was an evertonian.. :)

4.) 08 Nov 2021 21:13:41
Apparently he is right on those players Ed025 😆😆😆.

{Ed025's Note - i wish i could argue with you KS .. :)

5.)

6.) 09 Nov 2021 03:11:51
I know it's terrible but whenever I see Declan Rice, I just see Cameron Diaz's brother from There's Something About Mary.

7.) 09 Nov 2021 03:32:23
A "diving fouling scumbag" who people are asking for, and someone will probably pay, 100 Million for. It's football. Anything is possible (they paid almost 90 Million for Pogba, 5 years ago) .

8.) 09 Nov 2021 08:03:38
He’ll leave 100mil when he does go and there’s only 3 teams I can see who’ll be capable of paying that and, unfortunately, we’re not one of them.

9.) 09 Nov 2021 10:39:04
Keita’s shinpad, I’m not wrong though am I? We’re not in contention for those players and you’ll never see any of them play a competitive game in a Liverpool shirt.

We can’t afford to replace Wijnaldum, so how on earth people think we can remotely afford to replace Salah when he eventually goes, or even afford to bring in effective cover for the AFCON is beyond me (and the key word is EFFECTIVE) . Boxing Day until the 7th February is not looking a good period for us. We have five league games, Leicester (A), Chelsea (A), Brentford (H), Palace (A), Leicester (H), there’s possibly a couple of cup games, which I imagine we’re going to have to bin off. It is hard to think they logically we’re going to come out of that with many points, which would all but kill off our title hopes, as we struggled to break down Chelsea at Anfield, Brentford have got the measure of us, and neither of Leicester or Palace are what you’d call straightforward matches.

10.) 09 Nov 2021 17:17:09
As has been explained countless times VVVV, our finances are in bits because of the ‘hand to mouth’ structure of them that was put under unbelievable pressure by the C.V.. Now that C.V. football is over, in time, i imagine the situation will return to a normal healthy level. It isn’t a conspiracy on the part of the owners to see Liverpool never invest in the squad again from now until the end of time. We still have a big squad and some players that could move on to create space. I wouldn’t be getting your knickers in a twist to this extent.

11.) 09 Nov 2021 19:23:34
We sort out our defending, we'll be fine. We're getting done the same way ie the right side or sloppy set piece defending as last season.

12.) 09 Nov 2021 20:56:02
Tactical adjustments (gini leaving plus the need to evolve) mean that we are scoring and conceding more.
West Ham's tactics are going to be repeated on Ali and i wonder if its time to get Konate in the team, although this would mean that we miss Joel's attacking qualities.

13.) 09 Nov 2021 23:26:22
Let’s buy 2 expensive, effective forwards to cover 5 or 6 games…Glad your not my accountant vvvv

As for Gini, two decent seasons and that’s tops! What did he do last season when we needed him most? Nothing - The midfield was re shuffled to deploy Hendo and Fabhino at CB, Gini went missing in so many games just as in previous seasons.

14.) 10 Nov 2021 11:41:03
anyone else bored of hearing Gini's name on here . . . for an enigmatic player, for some posters it seems like he has turned into Steven Gerrard. and I loved Gini, defended him on here for years. But this love-in with Gini and loathing that we didn't bring in a 9th midfielder into the club is just snoooooooooozzzzeeeee.

15.) 10 Nov 2021 13:59:27
Faith - every time a Gini story is told, he gets better and better. It's like an old fishermans story!

16.) 10 Nov 2021 16:29:14
Pity for prospective suitors that Rice declared for England, he'd be worth at least £30m less if he was playing for Ireland.

17.) 13 Nov 2021 17:13:06
Drogie, where did I say we needed to buy two world class forwards? I pointed out that we were going to be without two world class forwards for at least 5 league games, maybe 6 games. Which if we draw blanks in those, effectively kills off our league title chances (not that they’re great anyway, given that we have dropped 7 points in games that our rivals would win), we rarely score or create from midfield and the remaining forwards are nowhere near as prolific, as we are very short of quality in depth beyond Jota.

As for Gini, the things he was good at was being a “water carrier”, he wasn’t special or a game changing player, but he was effective, reliable, consistent and injury free, he certainly gave us better call retention and pressing than any of the current incumbents.

As for last season, if you recall, Fabinho and Henderson (when they weren’t injured) were both playing centre back for significant periods and Gini was being asked to play as midfield anchor for a number of games, which frankly speaking, he doesn’t have the skills for. That isn’t his fault.

We may have loads of apparent “options”, but they’ve been shown to be unreliable, inconsistent, injury prone and not quite good enough.

As for the finances, by the time we’ve got our sh*t together, Newcastle will have got themselves organised and you can bet they will be competing for the same signings that we would be, and will simply blow us out the water as they’ll just pay up front. For example Watford are now apparently asking £100m for Sarr (a player we have looked at), now out of us and Newcastle, who is likely to pay that kind of money?

But back to my initial point, which is irrefutable, we simply cannot compete for top players, so there’s really no point discussing the likes of Rice/ Bellingham/ Haaland or whoever as we’re never going to be in that conversation to buy them.

I only hope that we reach an agreement with Salah or the summer transfer window is going to be horrific.

18.) 17 Nov 2021 14:12:11
VVVV - we cannot compete for the top players. you mean like the world record GK and CB we purchased.? I get your point, but come one, it's a bit drastic. LFC will always be able to compete for top players.

Looks like you are honestly getting relegated my friend Ed025. Shocking would be an understatement.

Keitas shinpad

{Ed025's Note - im not sure about that KS,but im not ruling it out mate..

1.) 12 Dec 2021 21:10:55
You'll be saved by the fact there is 3 teams worse then you. Norwich, the ultimate yoyo team. To good for the championship but dire in the PL. Leeds who seem to have second season syndrome. And newcastle, but how much will they spend? Although if Howe is in charge of the pursestrings they'll still go down.

Saying all that you'll get dragged in to a dog fight if your not careful. If you fight like you did in the Aresnal game you'll be fine, but too often this year they have rolled over and had their bellies tickled!

{Ed025's Note - but are them 3 really worse than us WYred? very debatable mate..

2.) 12 Dec 2021 21:51:54
Norwich and the toon definitely are, and when you have DCL. I put you ahead of Leeds.

I genuinely don't think you'll go down but it'll take a long time to fix the transfer mistakes unfortunately.

3.) 12 Dec 2021 23:13:48
I find it hard to see anyone being worse than Norwich, Newcastle and Burnley this season. At least Leeds, Watford and Everton have a bit of quality going forward. Things will be better once Calvert-Lewin is fit.

4.) 13 Dec 2021 00:27:26
Only two things in life are certain: the deaf and taxis. And Everton will not go down. I'll give anyone odds of 10/ 1 for them to go down. Balls to it, 20/ 1.
Anyone wanting Everton to go down should watch the Two Tribes documentary on BT Sport.
But Jordan Pickford being relegated, on his own, would be nice.

5.) 13 Dec 2021 01:08:24
Think Rafa getting a rough ride myself. They a p*ss poor team atm The players they have aren’t going to pull up trees for them loads of dross I like doucoure dcl too that’s it tho the rest not good enough. The fans Think they should be top 4 ( if Rafa had spent that half a billion I think they would definitely in Europe) as it stands I think couple of freebies in January for them then buy some in summer they be top 10 upwards next year. Klopp pep and tuchel couldn’t get them playing.

6.) 13 Dec 2021 09:51:58
AW, if you think there is nobody worse than Norwich then, I have a rebuttal to that: Man Utd. They were absolutely battered and taken to the woodshed by. Norwich at the weekend. And if Norwich are abject, what does that say about Utd? Just wanted your thoughts on this point. Cheers, mate.

7.) 13 Dec 2021 11:05:25
Norwich have 10 points
Man U 27.

8.) 13 Dec 2021 13:38:38
Mark, try to keep up. The points tally was not the point here.

28 Nov 2021 10:16:10
We are begining to see the greatest of Thiago Alcantara. the last time we had someone to dictate from the deep was a spanish and let's hope thiago emulates the great Xabi.

Keitas shinpad

1.) 28 Nov 2021 11:11:54
OP, one would say that but for me, I don’t even think he is fully fit yet cuz he had no preseason as he arrived late after the Euros with a knock, was coming back and then injured his calf (due to a lack of preseason) and is just now back playing again.

Hence if he is this good now while not being 100% pfitness wise, just think of what he can do when fully fit with Fab and Hendo around him.

Oh wait, we already know what that’s like. See last 10 games last season when he ran that midfield. Let’s hope he can stay fit and keep improving cos well, his talent, ability and overall class is not even a debate nor has it ever been, IMO.

2.) 28 Nov 2021 11:20:57
just like Ox, he is an injury away from being back at square one. great player, awesome. need his greatest ability to be availability right now.

3.) 28 Nov 2021 12:00:33
A run of games is exactly what he needs. Can he become as important as Fabs, Allison, VVD, Salah, Hendo etc I am not sure, let’s hope he can. Can he do it against Chelsea and Man City? Time will tell.

4.) 28 Nov 2021 12:08:26
If we are to stand a chance we need all our players fit and in form and we need players like Ox and Naby to keep stepping up and perform.

5.) 28 Nov 2021 12:24:39
He produced some beautiful football yesterday ❤️.

6.) 28 Nov 2021 13:50:05
Irish I agree, getting games out of the likes of Matip, OX, Nabby etc keeps other players fresher. When Milner as an example has to play 5 games on the bounce you just know he will get injured.

7.) 28 Nov 2021 14:12:37
He's great and all but he caused 2-3 goal scoring chances for the Saints yesterday with wayward passes.

8.) 28 Nov 2021 14:21:18
Thanks for the response posters.
John. did you also not see how he takes an entire section of saints players with one pass. Southampton was in no man's land whether to press him or drop back to stop the pass.
That goal when he switches his foot from right to left is what you call a genuine skillset.
I completely agree to emulating Alonso is like climbing Everest and beyond. But he makes football look so easy and effortless.

9.) 28 Nov 2021 14:28:03
Of course I saw him do that, and it was fantastic to watch but we can't ignore those mistakes and a batter team would have punished us for them. All, that being said, I wouldn't have him out of our team.

10.) 28 Nov 2021 19:16:13
He is pure class but definitely get anxious when he's deepest midfielder and the press is on. he's been caught a couple of times. However, his vision is another level. ED01 described best the other day. he chooses the right ball more often than not - short, long, doesn't matter. the pass to mane for offside goal was superb.

He has a way of passing and controlling the ball, maybe most similar to Zidane, its like he has hands as feet. great player, one of those you pay to see!

11.) 29 Nov 2021 10:57:47
to be fair to John's point, have we seen anyone give the ball away as easily as Thiago has in the middle of the park? bit like Bobby when he is in casual mode. just needs to sharpen up a touch at times!

01 Nov 2021 21:00:50
Ed025

Mate. I am sorry but boy that's the worst I have seen your team play. Allan is finished at all levels and Gabmin is even worse. what is going on.

Keitas shinpad

{Ed025's Note - we are poor KS, years of bad recruitment has left rafa with an impossible task mate..

1.) 01 Nov 2021 22:45:37
He'll be hounded out before he's even half done trying to sort that lot out.

{Ed025's Note - im afraid he has been part of the problem lately SR, im a big fan of his but some of his choices and substitutions have been piss poor mate..

2.) 01 Nov 2021 23:04:00
Next up Spurs under conte and then city. Can Rafa survive that is the question!

3.) 01 Nov 2021 23:50:17
Needs to pop the 3 piece back on can't take him serious in that Hummel shell suit!

4.) 02 Nov 2021 13:46:00
I told people this would happen. Rafa should NEVER had taken the job and I said it at the time. Hopefully, he can turn it around BUT it is becoming desperate now, IMO.

5.) 02 Nov 2021 14:27:29
I agree Oli. It was always a mistake him taking the job.

6.) 02 Nov 2021 14:51:58
We all got bills to pay at the end of the month, gentlemen!

7.) 02 Nov 2021 15:22:46
True that, ArAy1969. If that is why he took the job then, I ain't mad at him.

Chelsea won't loan him and we don't have the cash to buy him outright. besides, he is too prone to injury. cracking player and Klopp always had the klipperty on him.
Not Happening.

Not winning any major trophy this year is a failure to me. Can you believe we are yet to start a rebuild with more or less nothing in hand.
