Hi Eds, Sorry if this was answered, but I have a question regarding Markovic.

You said some time ago that he could leave on free in the summer (I assume this is under sporting just rule - less then 10% first team games) .

Does current loan to Anderlecht cancel this condition? Providing he plays for them.

Regards,
Kamil.

{Ed002's Note - Nominally yes, but it was tested and CAS were not keen to make a precedent and before they needed to the player moved on for a small fee.}

To be honest, maybe it'd be best (in the interest of both parties) if LFC offered to just release him so he could move to a club 100% of his own choice in the summer.

The move to us just hasn't worked, I know it would make little financial sense to the club maybe but on a human level, I think we could do this in all fairness.

He hasn't really caused much if any trouble to the club and his career is just regressing in the current situation, maybe I'm wrong but £10 million or so these days is not a lot and if he waived a pay off and/ or loyalty bonus or whatever was left on his contract, we'd stand to lose hardly anything.

Both sides should and could compromise here I feel.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool priced him out of a move in the summer and January so I doubt that will happen.}

I believe so yeah and that is a real shame for the lad.

I was quick to criticise Leicester with how they handled Mahrez in January, when they reportedly received decent offers but we have done something along the same lines with this kid and I find it a bad move personally.

3.) 06 Feb 2018 13:48:09
I genuinely feel bad for Markovic, he's left at a really young age, made a huge move to England and then has either been consistently played out of position or not given a chance. In our front 3 he could be a good backup as a speedy winger on the right, but yeah it's a shame that we take on a lot of international youngsters who virtually make liverpool their life and then they don't get any oppurtunities.

Welsh red, BR is to blame for Marko as he and LFC, were warned that he was not good enough yet to make the jump BUT BR never listened. Even Chelsea who had first option on Marko, walked away which should have been a signal for LFC to walk away as well. Another BR screw up that Klopp has to fix. Having said that, Marko has not done a thing to show he even wants to be here.

Hi Eds,

this is my first post here, and I really appreciate your work.

I'd like to ask, how financially sound is the club right now, after latest departures? Is FFP going to be an issue in the next season?

Also, how much money could Klopp be given next summer, not including the player sales, do you think?

Thanks in advance.

{Ed002's Note - Hi Kamil - going forward the club has the additional income from TV rights which puts it on to a much better footing and will allow the club to look to pay off debts rather than have the owners write debt off (which is the same as them giving more money to the cub). The club will again be supportive of Klopp but I would not expect a fixed sum to be given to him for transfers - everything will be on a case-by-case basis.}

1.) 22 Feb 2017 09:46:42
Cheers, thanks for the reply.

2.) 22 Feb 2017 12:50:29
Good post Kamil and thanks ed002.

3.) 22 Feb 2017 19:25:27
Thanks for the response, Ed. Good to know that slowly but surely, the club is growing.

4.) 23 Feb 2017 00:10:34
Does that mean Ed002, a bid for messi isn't out of the question?

Lol.

{Ed002's Note - It is an interesting point oddly enough.}

5.) 23 Feb 2017 03:26:25
Well we do have a French international BPD who probably would be ok with going to Barcelona and considering they need a replacement for Mascherano maybe a straight swap for Messi wouldn't be out of the question?

6.) 23 Feb 2017 01:44:18
Ed, there's no way you can say that in here without mass hysteria breaking out! One of your dry, don't be ridiculous responses would have been best.

7.) 23 Feb 2017 09:51:04
Ed002 is never predictable 😉.

8.) 23 Feb 2017 11:24:32
I personally don't think they overly supported any manager! Kenny received the torres money Rogers received the suarez money Klopp used the Sterling/ benteke money, I think it's misleading to say they've been supportive! That's my opinion anyway.

9.) 23 Feb 2017 11:27:37
If we get champions league football the squad will have to increase in numbers.
I know we had injuries this year but even with just domestic football to deal with we looked stretchEd.

I read up to 6 players would be needed.
That's some investment.

10.) 23 Feb 2017 11:58:12
There is a limit on squad size. If players come in the some players will have to be left out of the squad.
We need more quality, not more numbers.

11.) 23 Feb 2017 12:00:42
I know where your coming from but a daft old fool like me wishes the club would get back to operating at a sustainable level sooner rather than later.

12.) 23 Feb 2017 20:45:49
Waro, your post makes little sense. The club got money for transfers and it got ploughed back into the club for investment on new players, something every club or business should be doing. What do you expect them to have done? Keep the money and use their own personal credit cards to fund the transfers? I know you don't like the owners and we get it BUT at least, post stuff that makes sense. Oh n BTW, Klopp did not use the Sterling money. That would be BR as Klopp came in middle of last season.

13.) 24 Feb 2017 18:30:10
I'd say the club rarely gets the money for a transfer in one lump.
I'd say it's paid yearly in installments depending how long the player signed for

I'm sure that eds done something on it before about balance sheets for the club for each season money in and money out and then wages.

14.) 28 Feb 2017 14:51:24
The only way we can be sustainable is to have 1 or 2 stepping up from the u23 and maybe 1 top drawer transfer signing each season.

The problem is that there is such a gulf in difference between the 2 levels.

The only way the u23 can get up to speed is by playing first team football.

I don't think loans are the answer either as in most cases the loanees always have in their heads that they have the parent club to fall back on.

They need to play in a competitive environment where their futures at a top club are at stake.

That separates the best from the rest.

I only watched him on our national team, and he's average. He's behind Lewandowski and Milik in pecking order.

In that scenario United go straight into group stage without 4th round play-off.

If Milner is the answer, I'm afraid of the question.
