Have heard that Liverpool are looking at making 4 significant signings.

Slot has had his say, along with his coaches has identified 4 key positions he wants to improve.

LB, CB cover, Number 10 and central striker.

He rates Szobo, but wants more in regards to output. Only Dom can change his view on this.

The four players topping the list for each position:

Hato, Huijsen, Cunha and Isak.

Sales of Kelleher, Gomez, Tsimikas, Morton, Elliott, Nunez and Jota are being touted as the players to free up funds for these four players to come in.

Huijsen and Cunha’s release clauses are doable. Isak has agreement with Newcastle if they fail to qualify and Hato is keen on the move.

Don’t shoot the messenger.

Oh yeah.

2.) 25 Feb 2025 21:36:46
Id rather see Branthwaite brought in at CB. Apparently we were close to a deal last summer. Huijsen will only want to head off to Barcelona or Real after 2 seasons.

3.) 25 Feb 2025 23:09:26
Hujsen is a great prospect but not ready to be playing week in and out for us IMO.

Look at Quansah and how good fans thought he was last season compared to this season. Young players will peak and dip as they learn the game.

He’s very young especially for a centre half.

£50m for a 3rd choice centre back seems a lot to pay.

4.) 26 Feb 2025 02:34:13
Huijsen has chicken arms. Not strong enough for us.

5.) 26 Feb 2025 04:09:55
Excellent rumour - old school, like it.

6.) 26 Feb 2025 04:44:59
Elliot should not be sold. He has a lot to offer.

7.) 26 Feb 2025 07:49:31
Szobo is one of our best players.

Man, I could care less about what Carra, I doubt Slot and Co are looking at number 10. Jones does a good job there. Probably it's Macca's natural position too.

Even if we do end up selling Elliott, we are so well stocked with quality players there, it would be one of the last positions on my radar.

If Trent goes as it sounds like is possible, he will absolutely have to be replaced by a top quality RB to challenge Bradley. I love Bradley but up to now in his career he is fairly injury prone.

So RB is one position that would be a must. That's one.

If Trent does sign then obviously we don't need a RB.

LB needs upgrading. That's two.
Hopefully we can sell one of the current two. I personally would like to keep robbo to fight with the newcomer.

CB is next. I always feel CB is an injury crisis waiting to happen. We needed one in there for ages.

CF. I think Nunez's time has come.

And I d love a DM to come in and spread the workload in the Two holding positions.

8.) 26 Feb 2025 09:18:13
I agree with almost 100% of what Davey says - in particular about bringing in support for Grav in the deeper midfield spot. That 1 signing would allow us more options in all midfield positions with Macca able to play alongside Grav/ new signing or further forward in the 10 role. It would also allow us to play Szobo and Macca in the 2 10s formation that we have seen a couple of times recently.

The only thing I disagree with is that even if Trent leaves I still think that LB is a higher priority than RB. We would obviously need to bring in support at RB but I wouldn't be overly concerned about Bradley being first choice.

9.) 26 Feb 2025 10:37:36
Fair enough Shipley. It's the availability of Bradley that worries me. Not as concerning as a squad option but if he is our first choice then availability is a big big worry.

Absolutely no doubting he has the ability to be a clear first choice RB. Not questioning his ability one bit. He is awesome. But those injuries are piling up now.

10.) 26 Feb 2025 10:43:28
If we signed those 4 players, I'd be elated.

Agree however that another defensive minded midfielder would be essential if Bajcetic is not going to make the cut and Endo is not fancied.

I don't see Cunha as a no10 - more a 9.5 or false9.

Sadly, I wouldn't be surprised to see Harvey Elliott find a new home and us looking at someone like Mastantuono (River Plate) or Sudakov (Shakthar) to challenge Szobo/ Macca in the role.

I feel bad for boyhood Liverpool fan Harvey but his speed was always going to work against him at the very top of the game, unless we built around him, which we're clearly not doing.

11.) 26 Feb 2025 11:02:48
That would be an outstanding window, but I am very surprised there's not a right back.

i think cover for Gravenberch and a right back look far more important than replacing Szoboszlai but that's just my opinion.

I'd be very disappointed to see Elliott go but you can tell Slot doesn't fancy him at all, so it does make sense.

12.) 26 Feb 2025 11:40:16
Elliot really doesn't seem to have progressed, he also looks slower than ever. He had little to no pace before but watching him during that Plymouth match, he looked like he was running through syrup.

13.) 26 Feb 2025 11:44:24
I'm with most posters here on Harvey - really sad for the lad. He struck me as very much in the Coutinho role. I wonder if there is a future for him as an alternative to Szob? Is there that much difference in their pace?

14.) 26 Feb 2025 12:25:21
Are you serious Zed? Szoboszlai is like 3 times as quick as elliot with twice the work rate and is also a big lad compared to Elliot who is very small.

15.) 26 Feb 2025 12:44:55
Zeddicus, did you really ask whether there's much difference between Szob and Harvey's pace or did I misread your question?

16.) 26 Feb 2025 15:04:36
Will we meet home grown players quota if we loose Elliot, Gomez, Morton and replace them with foreign players? And not to forget Trent.

17.) 26 Feb 2025 12:23:20
Vango mate, Braithwaite is rated 80-100M and Everton have not sold a player to Liverpool in 20+ years. Never happening as I'm sure Ed025 might agree?

{Ed025's Note - i think Jarrad would jump at the chance KC, but its not a good look for us to be selling our best players to our noisy neighbours mate, never say never of course and if the money was right who knows?..

18.) 26 Feb 2025 16:07:02
Need someone who can play the deepest role in midfield far more than we need another attacking midfielder, which i don't think Cunha is anyway. For me he's a LW or FW. Huisen is a super young player and attainable. Leftback is also a must. LB, FW, DM and CB in that order.

19.) 26 Feb 2025 19:02:17
Agree with most bit I am properly on the fence with Elliot. Like many others he seems to do well when given a run, which he hasn't had this season. Even if he's not a starter, we could do far worse than a HG English supporter of the club. Many others would be out the door before him for me on that basis but then again if a good offer came in, I suppose there is little room for sentiment. and Slot doesn't seem the type to muck about.

20.) 26 Feb 2025 23:41:36
As per my original message, these are the four highlighted areas and the players selected for each position as 1st choice. However, things can (and ultimately will change) dependent on contracts and performances.

Slot is very happy with Gravenberch, Macca, Endo and Jones covering the 6. He has been impressed by all of them in that position.

Szobo’s work rate he loves, but wants more G/ A so tonight might help his cause.

Even though Cunha is a False 9, they feel with his work rate and link up play, he is better suited behind the main striker, or alongside as Szobo often plays.

RB obviously is dependent on TAA, but he is happy with Bradley, and will look at youth players or Quansah for cover. They feel LB is a higher priority as neither Robbo or Tsimikas have put down a marker.

As for the homegrown quota, we will have enough spaces for four new overseas players, due to sales and slots we already have available.

This may change, but Slot only wants to make minimal changes to the squad if possible and looking at maximum 4 key positions for the summer window.

That makes sense JurgenSlot. Thanks for sharing the info.

Hearing strong rumours that Arsenal are interested in Nunez before the close of the window and have been informed that he would potentially consider a move.

Incoming 50million + 1 bids.

2.) 28 Aug 2024 06:26:01
Anything can happen with our owners as JH wants his netball team.

3.) 28 Aug 2024 06:55:33
@Klopp4pm What are you talking about?

4.) 28 Aug 2024 08:03:57
He is not an upgrade on Gabriel Jesus, both don’t score plus he would be expensive. Not happening logoc wise.

I posted in February about Slot and his teams priority positions and first choice player for each position.

As stated back then, nothing had really changed much. Cunha is being considered for the 10 role, NOT the central striker position. Doubts over Szobo’s output still as not hitting the numbers they expect someone like Cunha could do in that role.

RB is now more of a consideration, but only looking at competition for Bradley, not a starter. Hence LB, CB, No. 10 and Striker being priority for Slot and his coaches.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions, that’s what makes this beautiful game so great.

However, I can’t get onboard with fans criticising someone like Mo. Just look at what he has achieved for the club and also for himself. Football started before 1992 but a lot of fans forget that. Look at his stats since the beginning of LFC and you will see what a truly fantastic servant he has been to us.

Good luck to him, whatever he decides over the next 12 months. I would love him to stay, but if he leaves I wish all the best and thank him.

Also for the person saying he can’t class him as a legend because what has happened in finals, behave. How many of our greats down the years haven’t turned up in finals. Plus didn’t he score a penalty in the first minutes of a Champions League Final!?

Thanks Ed002

I did think it was strange myself when they didn’t list them as HG, but they are.

With Chiesa there are two more slots.

Salah
Diaz
Nunez
Gakpo
Jota

So that would make:

14 with 17 being the maximum.

Who am I missing?

JurgenSlot

{Ed002's Note - You are correct - the club, oddly do not list Varos or Bradley as HG, but they are.}
