Rumours going around that there has been a major concrete fail on the the stand, anyone heard anything on this.

Jota the slotter

1.) 15 Oct 2023 20:34:44
According to a youtuber I follow on the progress, it's a potential ground floor concrete failure. I'm sure an announcement will be made this week.

2.) 15 Oct 2023 23:29:09
That would be MrDrone. So far it's an unsubstantiated rumour. Should be good enough to get some of the hooples panicking though.

3.) 16 Oct 2023 18:17:28
"News" that breaks from any account that is financially motivated to drive engagement should be viewed with suspicion. These people aren't your friends, aren't looking out for you, and aren't concerned with promoting any type of public good.

4.) 16 Oct 2023 12:11:24
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the new concrete is having a medical. Here We Go soon.

5.) 16 Oct 2023 19:50:12
Just to counter MrDrone's news, his buddy and fellow drone pilot KC Imageworks also has an insider at the stadium and he claims it's a load of bollox.
We'll know soon enough.

6.) 16 Oct 2023 20:49:27
Is the concrete rumour concrete?

7.) 17 Oct 2023 02:16:39
@LiverpoolFC8, yeah, at least asbestos we can tell.

Sorry, couldn’t help it.

8.) 17 Oct 2023 17:08:22
WDW, nah you did it on purpose and enjoyed every second of it.

9.) 17 Oct 2023 20:48:04
Guilty as charged your Honour ?.

10.) 20 Oct 2023 16:19:58
I’ve seen video going round of concrete steps wobbling and walls being taken down.

Chelsea getting Lavia too now, what now?

Jota the slotter

{Ed002's Note - I have repeatedly explained their need for 2 DF players after losing Kante, Jorgonho, Kovacic, Loftus Cheek et. Maybe you should pay attention?}

1.) 11 Aug 2023 22:19:47
They going to need two to stop our attack.

2.) 11 Aug 2023 22:09:35
Congrats to Chelsea, as hard as it is to take, they seem to be a more attractive proposition to players (well these two) at the moment. Or they are just way better at getting signings over the line. ? our turn will come… eventually.

3.) 11 Aug 2023 22:00:50
That would be over 1.1bn spent in 12 months. how in gods name is that allowed.

{Ed002's Note - Why not.?}

4.) 11 Aug 2023 22:09:35
Congrats to Chelsea, as hard as it is to take, they seem to be a more attractive proposition to players (well these two) at the moment. Or they are just way better at getting signings over the line. ? our turn will come… eventually.

5.) 11 Aug 2023 23:32:54
It’s been a bit of a shambles so far hasn’t it? We just need to pay the money for Lavia if we want him and stop trying to be so bloody smart. Honestly a few days ago I couldn’t imagine any neutral player in their right mind wanting to go to Chelsea full stop, let alone as a preferred option to LFC. Now I’m not so sure if I’m the weird one based on how we have been conducting ourselves. Losing out on MC is one thing if he has that preference, but if we lose out on Lavia because of mucking about after today and yesterdays goings on then that is just as many people have said, a bit embarrassing. Where ol’ Edwards when you need him? He might not have been the most savvy financially but he wouldn’t have mucked about like this at least.

Hi Ed 02, rumours that chelsea are going to bid again for Caicedo, any truth or are they not prepared to go above 100m.

Jota the slotter

{Ed002's Note - Obviously they could bid again, but they had made clear that they dis not want to go above £100M and Brighton have already accepted the offer from Liverpool, so I personally consider it unlikely.}

1.) 11 Aug 2023 10:57:25
thanks for the quick reply.

2.) 11 Aug 2023 11:10:05
Loving it Ed has all the right answers today.

3.) 11 Aug 2023 11:15:01
Thanks ed, a report I respect has calmed me a little. Still won’t be until the anfield kean I think. Can’t imagine klopp would confirm if there was a chance too.

4.) 11 Aug 2023 11:18:33
Ed2 do you think there is an option that Caicedo does not agree personal terms?

{Ed002's Note - It would be very unlikely.}

5.) 11 Aug 2023 11:22:47
Klopp has stated that he doesn't know if Moises is having a medical today, and has only been told that the clubs have agreed a price. So still a bit to do.

6.) 11 Aug 2023 11:30:07
sky are reporting Caicedo is having second thoughts and has remained in london.

7.) 11 Aug 2023 11:36:30
@Jota if that's true scrap the deal and never go back to him.

8.) 11 Aug 2023 11:39:49
SkySports saying Moises remains in London and is having 2nd thoughts about a move to Liverpool. Remains to be seen whether Chelsea returns with an improved offer.

9.) 11 Aug 2023 11:42:37
Sky sports news reported that Caicedo has second thoughts on joining LFC. Omg!

10.) 11 Aug 2023 11:58:38
Southampton going to ask for £75m after seeing this.

01 Jun 2023 16:05:32
Anyone else get the feeling Mac Alister is holding out for another club, never known personal terms taking so long to agree, seemd a bit strange.

Jota the slotter

{Ed002's Note - The issue is not personal terms, it is agreeing a fee and add ons with Brighton - and critiocally how the fee will be paid.)

1.) 01 Jun 2023 16:18:51
Seems Romano has said fee will be a lot lower than the 65/ 70 mill being reported. Would be great business if we get him cheaper than that. Knowing us we are probs trying to spread to fee over 5 years.

2.) 01 Jun 2023 16:33:55
ED002 - reading between the lines does that mean liverpool are trying to get him on the cheap.

{Ed002's Note - I was not aware of a fee being agreed but they will look to negotiate.}

3.) 01 Jun 2023 16:35:45
And interest free ?.

4.) 01 Jun 2023 17:13:07
Is it Ward who is responsible for negotiating or has he left the club and Jorg is the person in charge now?

{Ed002's Note - Without asking I don’t know who is there.}

5.) 01 Jun 2023 17:55:47
Christ almighty man! The windows nor even open and the lads not even in the country! Just control yourself fella.

6.) 01 Jun 2023 18:28:44
I don’t understand, on my Football Manager game I can agree terms with player and club before I finish my cup of tea. What’s the hold up?

7.) 01 Jun 2023 18:32:16
Mfahmee, I ve been hired to do the negotiation. FSG gave me 10 pounds and a packet of crisps.

I have the 10 pounds on the table with the Brighton board for hours now. I ve been using delay tactic after delay tactic to drag the meeting out. I emptied all the vending machines in the building and sabotaged the food in the kitchen. You can really sense the hunger in the room. Any minute now I'm going to hit them with that packet of crisps.

8.) 01 Jun 2023 18:53:16
@ Davey sulls is that true you're doing the negotiations? Obviously you jest about the food etc. Have you got any other player negotiations any time soon?

9.) 01 Jun 2023 19:09:55
Davey's also working on bringing Cookie Monster in, but he's trying to entice him with fruit.

10.) 01 Jun 2023 19:55:47
I do everything from player negotiation to hostage negotiation and everything in between.

And no Zed. I would not approach the Cookie monster with fruit. Not after last time.

11.) 01 Jun 2023 19:56:20
This is just like the good rubbish from years ago.

????

The reason why I started reading.

12.) 01 Jun 2023 21:59:35
Davey - I wish you'd get off your ar5e and finally get Simao, and Jen Aguero over the line. Just give them the crisps. :)

13.) 01 Jun 2023 23:01:27
RedTed, Davey is actually Gary Linekar, and you know how he feels about crisps.

14.) 02 Jun 2023 00:20:40
Don't get your hopes up about signings guys. I have a terrible win ratio.

In fact I really wish they'd stop giving me hostage negotiation cases.

15.) 02 Jun 2023 02:00:30
@Jota, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with Liverpool trying to get the best deal they can when they are trying to buy or looking to sell a player. so, yes Liverpool try to get players ‘on the cheap’ as you put it.

The thing is Liverpool will have a maximum they are will to pay for a player and the club selling (in this case Brighton) will have a minim7m that they would be willing to accept. Obviously both sides will negotiate to try and get 5he best deal. It boils down to if Liverpool’s upper limit meets or is higher than Brighton’s lower limit. If it does, we have a deal, if it doesn’t then no deal. As Ed02 says there are sometimes other factors - Brighton might want, as an example, £60m and we might be willing to pay £60m but there might still be issues -Brighton might want, say, full payment in one instalment whereas we might want to pay instalments over a n7mber of years, which might mean the transfer doesn’t happen.

As has been said the window is nowhere near open yet so it’s probably best for everybody’s nerves and sanity to just wait and see what happens. After all, as the legendary Doris Day sang, ‘Tell me ma, me ma, I don’t want no tea, no tea’ or something along those lines.

Great username @molbyslostgoal.

19.) 02 Jun 2023 11:57:04
According to a journo friend, the fee is now agreed with B&HA. Minor details of the payment schedule are to be ratified before the announcement next week.

All these rumours saying we are speaking with the agents of Mac Alister, Thuram and Kone, not one reports says we have spoken to their clubs, i wouldn't get too excited.

Jota the slotter

1.) 31 May 2023 10:10:59
It’s a step forward if true, no hint of the usual tapping up.

2.) 31 May 2023 12:45:48
That's a little more exciting than Mount and Gravenberch and better potential, especially Thuram, he is mint.

3.) 31 May 2023 14:59:54
OP, I think that is how the process works. You contact the player thru the agent first and then everything happens from there on.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool cannot contact the players directly without permission.}

4.) 01 Jun 2023 11:50:24
Thanks for the clarification, Ed02.

Gomez or tsimikas on saturday people?

Jota the slotter

1.) 19 Oct 2023 13:28:25
Originally I thought tsmi but more I think of it gomez better bet. he fresh after break and had been plaaying fairly well. phsysical type game might suit him better. gakpo back in training today, massive boost that considering south americans lat back.

2.) 19 Oct 2023 13:29:24
Tsimikas has proven he’s a capable deputy in robertson place only makes sense he plays.

3.) 19 Oct 2023 15:27:12
I do wonder if putting VVD on the left and Gomez and then Konate to the right of him might be a an option. Purely because he’s left footed more than anything. But I also don’t like changing it up too much either so maybe not.

4.) 19 Oct 2023 15:59:49
Virgil not leftfooted is he? if tsimi doesn't play there was no point in him signing that new contract. personally i would have thrown chambers in before he picked up an injury.

5.) 19 Oct 2023 16:18:28
Vvd is not left footed.

6.) 19 Oct 2023 19:42:41
Damn vvd on left back even if he were left footed is a crazy suggestion. Remarkable as a fan you wouldn’t know Mikey but maybe you never looked to check.

7.) 19 Oct 2023 20:59:27
I've posed this before the season but didn't get any responses. Maybe cos it was crazy lol

But given all the chat about finding a LCB to replace Robbo, surely VVD is an option and then we have plenty of CB options to fill the other two spots.

8.) 20 Oct 2023 03:15:20
Gomez has played LB before for us so I think he is an option there. I love Tsimi and he obviously loves us too but the system we are playing now does not suit him at all. If we stick to an orthodox back 4 than it would be much better for him.

9.) 20 Oct 2023 04:43:14
JG has earned himself the gametime imo.

10.) 20 Oct 2023 05:32:09
Not going to happen but I would like a back three with trent moving into midfield to sit with macca.

11.) 20 Oct 2023 09:30:54
Tsimi will be left back.

12.) 20 Oct 2023 10:27:11
Groot, mate, is that not what happens whenever we have the ball, and has happened for almost an entire season?

13.) 20 Oct 2023 11:27:46
Quansah or Chambers even? Saying that I think it will be Tsimi - he is a left footed full back and it’s usually more of a game of kick and rush in the Derby rather than a footy game.

14.) 20 Oct 2023 15:11:07
A natural left back should play at left back. It's that simple.

15.) 20 Oct 2023 20:38:59
Don’t think that’s necessarily the latest coaching thought process Oli, given the number of wingers who cut in. Mo for instance.

16 Aug 2023 09:38:01
Ed01, who do you want liverpool to sign as a defensive midfielder?

Jota the slotter

{Ed001's Note - Florentino Luis. Well Bruno Guimaraes but Newcastle wouldn't sell him.}

1.) 16 Aug 2023 12:56:49
If you have a choice Ed, Luis or Doucoure? I would probably prefer Doucoure just because he already know english football and the fact he is Palace POTY playing as a DM over the likes of Olise, Eze and Zaha. Luis a bit risky for me because Benfica fans told me how much he struggle on second half of last season. Which one is better with the ball btw?

{Ed001's Note - if I had a choice? It would depend on which gave the impression they really wanted the move to be honest. I like both a lot.}

2.) 16 Aug 2023 13:09:39
The independent are saying we’re looking at Doucoure again and might be able to get him way below what we initially thought. Think he’s of comparable quality to Florentino Ed001?

{Ed001's Note - yes, I would be happy with Doucoure.}

3.) 16 Aug 2023 13:57:37
This story with Doucoure is gathering pace the same way the Szoboszlai deal did back then. Hopefully, we get him. As for Andre, he is reportedly keen to join us and Ed02 had said that a deal is more than possible. Now will both sign this summer? I don't know so hopefully we can do Doucoure now and do Andre in Jan if it cannot be done this summer.

{Ed002's Note - AT would be far more likely in January.}

4.) 16 Aug 2023 14:20:03
My thoughts, exactly Ed02. Thanks.

08 Aug 2023 08:37:12
After watching the game last night, i really don't like this inverted fullback role for Trent, at time he was on the left wing with Robbo, just leaves massive gaps at the back.

Jota the slotter

1.) 08 Aug 2023 09:07:39
Robbo has become so poor defensively, he hardly stops crosses anymore. The goal they scored, came from him not closing the midfielder down.
We conceded a lot of goals last season from crosses coming from Robbo's side. If we are going to carry on with this system. Robbo needs replacing.

2.) 08 Aug 2023 09:23:14
If we persist with this, we need a left sided center back who can play left back so when Trent goes walk about the 3 remaining defenders can move across and go to a back three.

3.) 08 Aug 2023 10:04:08
I don’t like this system at all it leaves to many exposed and top teams will just play it over the top or down the flanks.

4.) 08 Aug 2023 10:14:31
Agree Fatwallet, the players don't seem to know have it works properly, kanate is just getting left on his own to cover right back and center back, no one is shifting across.

5.) 08 Aug 2023 12:05:53
We won't be playing one system with TAA.

6.) 08 Aug 2023 10:40:53
Just scrap it and buy a decent cb/ rb then push trent into midfield for me.

7.) 08 Aug 2023 10:44:22
To be honest nobody on here likes this hybrid role. Gomez at right back Trent in the middle as our new number six and buy a qualit CB to replace Konate
Up the pool.

8.) 08 Aug 2023 11:23:28
I was open minded about it, but I think we need to ditch it now.

9.) 08 Aug 2023 11:45:49
Robertson is a great defender, a great left back - he does not suit this role though. So why get rid of him? These tactics simply do not work long term, i mean Pep couldn't really make it work and changed things so why shouldn't we?

Personally, I like the idea of Trent in midfield - he's trying to cover 2 roles and it's tough, he gets caught out. Likewise, the cb has to cover for him when he is in midfield and a long ball is played and the cb then gets caught out too

Play Trent in midfield - not sure if he could play the cdm ( could possibly be an option) but I would like to get one dedicated cdm in. Would the rcm, Henderson's role, suit? I think it is in midfield we would see the best out of him, but i just think it is too difficult to cover midfield and rb berths for him

Then, like many on here, I would like a new cb signed - i'd let Matip go as he is in his last year now and we could still get a fee for him - possibly £6-£9m?

Then, the rb spot needs to be addressed - why would we let Ramsay go out on loan? Surely he and Bradley could have competed for the role? Strange decision that - possibly Gomez and Bradley could compete for the role? Gomez certainly needs games to try and improve his confidence as he has looked awful in most games as cb, though had a cracking game against City in the role tbf

Personally, even in pre-season I think we looked better in the games Trent played midfield and we had a rb playing too - though, in all games, we looked good going forward and suspect at the back - although wholesale changes were made at ht in every game. However, i think we should just go with the 4-3-3 formation, it seems to get the best out of most players. The hybrid role could certainly work in some games, as we saw at the end of last season, but I fear we will be caught out too much if we persist in it. Pre-season reminded me of the Rodger's title challenging year - we conceded a lot as we were wide open but had some great attacking talent and just looked to simply outscore the opposition lol, made for some mad results.

10.) 08 Aug 2023 12:29:21
Robertson needs to work on his game intelligence more than anything. Some of his pressing and positional play hark back to the days of Moreno - I’ve seen oatmeal less thick. Probably not true, but I sometimes get the impression he’s just running around like a loony for fan applause rather than doing his job effectively. If Klopp is telling him to make these bursts forward when he’s playing in a 3, he should have the intelligence and fortitude to tell Klopp it’s a bad idea.

11.) 08 Aug 2023 14:18:52
Robbo doesn't have a right foot at all. I don't get the impression he's been working on it over the summer with the knowledge that this system was going to be continuing.

Drop the system or replace Robbo. Right now we don't have anyone that can play there so we might just have to drop the system.

12.) 08 Aug 2023 16:09:58
If you see Trent playing on the left wing beside Robbo then he ain’t playing as an inverted full back role.

13.) 08 Aug 2023 18:15:35
Liverpool v1 under Klopp played a system that we had, by and large, the players that were able to execute the system.

Liverpool v2 under Klopp are playing a system for which we don’t seem to have the players to execute the system.

What has changed between system 1 and system 2 isn’t FSG and isn’t Klopp. The thing that has changed is Buvac being, in effect, replaced by Lijnders.

As things stand, if we stick with the inverted fullback approach we will, imho, likely miss all European qualification this season.

14 Apr 2023 06:13:45
With all the rumours about Mac allister to Liverpool, I would like to know Ed001 opinion on him, I just don’t get all the hype around him, no one even mentioned him before the World Cup, suddenly he’s a world beater?

Jota the slotter

{Ed001's Note - he is good but no, not a world beater. He has a great attitude, is a very nice well-liked lad and had improved massively in the last couple of years. He is also able to play a number of roles and works incredibly hard. I very much doubt Brighton would have any interest in selling him nor is he likely to agitate for a move, so he would probably be very expensive.}

1.) 14 Apr 2023 07:16:47
Your thought on Barella Ed? A couple years ago, he would be a great addition I would say. But i don't know how is he doing this season. Plus an Italian player bring back trauma of certain Aquilani. don't even know he is open on moving from Italy either.

{Ed001's Note - I don't believe the lad wants to move abroad, so that is a huge red flag.}

2.) 14 Apr 2023 08:37:01
Prices are insane these days, surely this bubble can't last.
Where are the hidden gems at the 30m mark?

My fear around our saleable players is that somehow they seem spent and as if they have nothing left to offer, so perhaps clubs will stay away.

Mane is a shadow of his former self, like FAB, VVD and Hendo.

3.) 14 Apr 2023 08:40:37
Would rather a cheaper Mount over MacAllister.

4.) 14 Apr 2023 08:21:07
Thoughts on Kone ed?

{Ed001's Note - not seen much of him but the little I did see looked good.}

5.) 14 Apr 2023 08:47:53
Alexis Mac Allister’s agent has claimed that the midfielder is “most likely” to leave Brighton at the end of the season, with Liverpool interested.

The midfielder has attracted plenty of interest ahead of the summer transfer window, with Liverpool reported to be one of the clubs keeping a close eye on the situation.

Carlos Mac Allister, who is both agent and father to the 24-year-old, revealed in an interview that he expects his son to be playing his football for a different club next season.

Also, Mount close to new contract (allegedly)

6.) 14 Apr 2023 08:48:54
Anyone we are linked to will be compared to Bellingham now.

For years I was chasing after Megan Fox but had to settle for the wife in the end. She’s never lived up to expectations either. I’ll probably look at putting her on the transfer list soon.

7.) 14 Apr 2023 09:18:09
Well noted JK. Is she at end of contract or are there some years left still? And the asking price is? ?.

8.) 14 Apr 2023 09:37:09
Yes JK but i doubt that Megan Fox ever actually WANTED to play with you?.

9.) 14 Apr 2023 09:47:15
Aray you can have her on a free mate. She’s like Milner. Good in a number of positions but a master of none ?.

Jude I pursued her for 2 years stating that no other women was the right fit and then decided she was too expensive for me.

10.) 14 Apr 2023 09:47:19
Megan Fox is a similar age to James Milner, maybe you can just bring her on for half an hour for absolutely no reason?

11.) 14 Apr 2023 10:05:32
Gents. You're all in top form. Obviously a solid pre-season is paying off.

12.) 14 Apr 2023 10:47:10
Half hour Thomas?! More like a last minute sub to get through the final 2 minutes.

13.) 14 Apr 2023 12:47:59
To be fair Stuie, if I brought Megan Fox on for two minutes I'd be doing an open top bus parade.

14.) 14 Apr 2023 12:47:59

09 Nov 2022 06:16:37
Hi Ed’s, if FSG are only looking for investment and say sell 10 or 15% of the club to an investor, how would that help the club, surely FSG would just pocket the money? I can’t see a minority shareholder putting money into the club.

Jota the slotter

{Ed001's Note - usually the sale would only be done on the proviso the new investor does put money in or pay down debt, or even both. That is how it would help. It is rare for someone part off without that unless they are just desperate for ready cash to use. If FSG were just desperate for a sale under any circumstances to raise cash, they would have already sold it, there has been plenty of interest.}

1.) 09 Nov 2022 06:54:33
Is that the reason why its hard to find investors to invest into the club ed? Because most investors want to be the sole owner or the having most share of the club?

{Ed001's Note - cost is the main reason.}

2.) 09 Nov 2022 07:12:42
OP - where do you get the feeling to ask a question that FSG are just going to line their pockets with cash?

3.) 09 Nov 2022 07:42:38
Ed1 So, If an investor buys 10% of the club for example, do the owners also demand that the investor gives a further injection of cash for spending on players or to clear debt or whatever?

{Ed001's Note - that is up to them, but it would be highly unusual to bring an investor on board without them providing any investment.}

@Ed01 - would I be right in assuming that the word Investor is the giveaway there?

{Ed001's Note - I would have to say you are.}

Do you see this as a fight between american investors ed? Or do you see any investors from europe or middle east to be interested? Probably not asia though.

{Ed002's Note - There will be interest from the Middle East and the US.}

Everyone needs to forget about Chelsea, I personally hope we go for Florentino Luis, but think his release clause is over 100m, not sure if that’s euros or pounds.

It doesn't matter if we pay it or not, the lad wants to go to chelsea just like Bellingham wanted to go to Real Madrid, unfortunately not every player wants to play for us.

feel sorry for Robbo, just wish we would go back to 4 3 3 and start pressing all over the pitch again, didn't have the legs last season but surely with the new players we should be able to.

Agree Fatwallet, the players don't seem to know have it works properly, kanate is just getting left on his own to cover right back and center back, no one is shifting across.

If we persist with this, we need a left sided center back who can play left back so when Trent goes walk about the 3 remaining defenders can move across and go to a back three.

I think FSG have been responsible owners and have run the club well so far, but I think the way the premier league is going, as in an average midfielder cost 30m plus, their sustainable model no longer works, I’m not saying we need oil money but maybe owners who are willing to part with a bit of there own cash as well.
