Dortmund looking for add ons for sancho for appearances, goals, silverware there's a song there somewhere😂.

1.) 15 Jun 2021 16:20:30
If man u get him he will make them a lot stronger, that's for sure.

2.) 15 Jun 2021 17:14:22
Will he make them stronger? Think I’d rather see how Greenwood develops personally unless they’re going to shift him up front. Be interesting to see if they make a move for Kane.
If it were a toss up between Sancho and Greenwood I’d pick Greenwood.

3.) 15 Jun 2021 20:14:58
Agree NYR.

4.) 15 Jun 2021 17:14:10
Nought new on search, Eds.

Edwards reported to be lining up £82 deal for Sancho, £190k/ week.

Ed2 said we shouldn't be surprised, so anything in it?

{Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath unless there is a sale of perhaps Salah.}

5.) 16 Jun 2021 13:12:40
At £82 I would buy him myself mate.

6.) 16 Jun 2021 14:15:55
What would you do with him?

7.) 16 Jun 2021 15:30:53
Sell him for a healthy profit Elf 😜.

8.) 17 Jun 2021 06:43:55
But you would have to sell in a week to avoid forking out 190k in wages rover.

If true kudos to Ben Davies who wants to stay n fight for the chance to pull on the famous Red Jersey wish the lad all the best from wat I heard he's a good baller.

Jonlennon32

1.) 10 Jul 2021 16:52:11
He is starting the season taking claim and then we have vvd konate and gomez fighting for the other spot.

2.) 10 Jul 2021 21:16:42
I would love Gomez to challenge but have my doubts 😌.

02 Jul 2021 13:19:44
Whatever happened to Jordan ibe so much promise but so little delivered I just seen his contract was terminated by mutual agreement still only 25yrs old do u think he could still have a good career?

Jonlennon32

1.) 02 Jul 2021 13:42:46
Google "What happened to Jordan Ibe" and you'll find some articles where he speaks of his depression and mental health challenges.

I guess he had a lot of pressure on him as a teenager - Liverpool buying him from Wycombe, breaking into the first team as a teenager and being touted as the next Raheem Sterling - and has found it difficult to cope with that pressure and also struggled with his form slipping as a result, whilst he slides down the leagues.

Just goes to show how important mentality is to being a successful sports person.

How much do clubs do to protect the mental wellbeing of their players, especially the younger ones? I presume it varies from club to club but are there any basic standards that, say, EPL clubs have to meet? What provisions do Liverpool have? One for the Eds I would think!

{Ed0666's Note - no idea about the mental health provisions at Liverpool mate but you do make a salient point. Bi-polar, schizophrenia, depression are real illnesses and not just ways for people not to work. We need to highlight these ailments as they are more profound and debilitating than people think. I have a family member who is suffering right now and seeing him in a psych ward is heartbreaking and one wants to be in one of them believe me. I hope the footballing authorities have protocols for this zeddicus as this isn’t as easy as treating a torn hamstring mate

2.) 02 Jul 2021 13:46:49
If you check his Instagram account he explains it in his own words, but basically he really struggled with his mental health and ended up falling out of love with football. A very sad but unfortunately familiar story.

3.) 02 Jul 2021 13:49:49
Was around the wrong crowd if I remember correctly. That, along with the fact he didn’t have the drive to push up another level.

{Ed0666's Note - mental health issues also mate.

4.) 02 Jul 2021 14:25:58
At least nowadays the fact he can state his mental health issues and not be stigmatised for it has to be a good thing? As a previous post said "didn't have the drive to push on to the next level". I don't believe that for one second. Wonder how many promising young footballers, who to the outside world have everything you could ever wish for, have been lost to the game over the years. Some need to remember that being a footballer is these lads job, so there is going to be days they don't want to go to work or have to drag themselves in. Show me a person on here that says they haven't had a day like that and I'll show you a liar. Hopefully he's getting the help he needs and returns to the game again.

5.) 02 Jul 2021 14:39:21
Alonso1786, that's a bit harsh. I saw a recent podcast where JI actually says that he had to leave LFC as soon as Mane arrived and he never recovered his confidence since then. Things got so tough for him that he started having mental issues esp when he split from his partner with whom he had a child with. That only made things worse.

Don't know about him moving with the wrong crowd but his depression and mental health problems were a huge hinderance to him pushing up a level. Cut the kid some slack. He has been through a whole lot that actually have nothing to do with his ability as a footballer.

6.) 02 Jul 2021 16:18:40
Mental health and the fact he wasn’t that good anyway.
He Probably believed the hype of being on the same level as Raheem when he wasn’t and never recovered.

7.) 02 Jul 2021 16:30:15
LFC08, it would not matter either way. Mental Health and Depression issues will rob you of whatever confidence and mental strength you think you have. And you don't know if he believed whatever hype so stop attacking him with your own projections as you have NO proof to support your claims. That's just weak kicking a young guy when he is down.

JI may not have been good enuff for us BUT very few young player are esp with what we would become under club at the tie he left. The kid has been thru a lot in his life so let the baseless attacks stop.

My mom suffered from depression for years after my father passed and know she went thru. I would be pissed off if someone attacked her with baseless claims w/ o ever having spoken to her or even known her.

8.) 02 Jul 2021 17:33:30
Poor bloke I hope he finds peace and happiness.

9.) 02 Jul 2021 17:41:48
Depression does not give a fig for how much money you have or what you do for a living.
Its a sickness that is very difficult to explain to those who have never suffered from it.
It sneaks up on you when you least expect it and can cripple you from doing the most basic of tasks, getting out of bed in the morning being the most basic of all.
Once it has its claws into you it does not want to let go, it takes a enormous amount of strength and will power to fight it off and enable yourself to go about your day in the usual manner.
OliRed: I hope your mother is doing fine and has found a way to live her life as normally as she can, your love and the rest of your families love will be a massive help to her.
As Bob Dylan once said : don't criticize what you don't understand.

10.) 02 Jul 2021 18:26:25
Guys I didn’t know he had mental health issues. Having suffered depression myself I would never of made such a statement if I had known. Probably got him mixed up with another player. Hopefully he has a strong support system and is getting the help he needs.

11.) 02 Jul 2021 20:29:21
I really liked him and thought he had tremendous potential. I remember telling someone in probably 2014 or 15 that he would be better than Sterling. He had that kind of potential in my opinion.

{Ed0666's Note - I remember when we had Ibe and Sterling on each flank I thought we were set for life

12.) 02 Jul 2021 20:30:33
Kingkenny great post mate.

13.) 02 Jul 2021 22:31:52
Thanks, KK7. My mom is doing great and has near fully recovered. She is loved by all her kids, grand kids and in-laws so all good there. Thanks for your lovely comments . Top bloke you are. Peace and Love to you and yours as well.

28 Jun 2021 02:01:04
I know he was poor when he was with Swansea but the more I see of renato the more I like do u think he good be a good fit for us.

Jonlennon32

1.) 28 Jun 2021 02:47:11
No from me, Florian Neuhaus would be my pick, Renato has improved but he is still average imo.
We cannot afford to get our signings wrong with money being so tight, Edwards and Klopp have to get it right, they have already taken a massive gamble on Konate, one which i think will pay off btw, as i have already stated Wijnaldum's greatest attribute to lfc was his continued availability, very rarely injured, his replacement needs to be just as durable.
I just don't see Renato being the game changing midfielder klopp is looking for.

2.) 28 Jun 2021 09:39:15
KK7, I don't think he is average even tho, I think he has improved massively since those Swansea days. Also using Swansea as a barometer to judge him just seems lazy cos we all know that Swansea team was absolutely useless and got relegated. He had a torrid time at Bayern and Swansea was the WRONGEST of places to remake a career at the time.

That said, I would not mind us signing him cos he is still young and will only get better as time goes on with the right environment BUT I would prefer Neuhaus as well cos he is what we need right now even tho, he may not be available this season, as ED02 has said.

3.) 28 Jun 2021 10:12:42
Depends on the system he's planning on using. He seems to prefer hard running functional players in midfield.

4.) 28 Jun 2021 11:23:17
Lad was looking like a kid who had it al too early and was risking becoming just another ‘what could have been’ I don’t know his life outside of football but it seem she’s gotten his head down on the pitch at least fair play to him.

20 Jun 2021 19:00:02
Poor neco is getting torn apart, do u think a loan move would benefit him for more experience cheers.

Jonlennon32

1.) 20 Jun 2021 19:07:55
It’s brutal but he’s never impressed me. He’s only even still here because of that first sub appearance when he came on, attacked and had a shot. Then fans said he was the next Trent.

{Ed025's Note - hes a young guy with not much experience thrown in against one of the best wingers in the game L8, bit harsh if you ask me mate..

2.) 20 Jun 2021 19:26:24
And he’s playing LWB/ LM. hardly fair on the lad to just bash him, literally nobody has said he is the next Trent.

3.) 20 Jun 2021 19:55:17
Got to be honest, being Welsh aswell, I am gutted for Neco. He is so much better than Roberts who is playing at right back.

Unfair to judge him on any performance for Wales unless he is at RB.

I am shocked we have made it through the group to be honest, but football is coming home to Wales by the looks 😂😂.

4.) 20 Jun 2021 20:55:21
His first few appearances when he broke through he looked confident, assertive and bold, then he had a couple of difficult games and his confidence seems to have tanked. I think there is something there and that he deserves a season as backup with the fans behind him to see if he can make it.

5.) 20 Jun 2021 21:38:42
Maybe if he got a lot more support from some of the “supporters” from his own club, that would help instead of the constant abuse he gets from them. Just a thought.

{Ed025's Note - thats a symptom of todays microwave supporters oli, they want instant superstars who dont make errors mate..

6.) 20 Jun 2021 21:42:27
It's early days yet. It's a good thing for him to feel the "pressure cooker" a bit. He'll begin to know, as will the team, what level of football he's made for. And he has plenty of time to still develop towards his potential.

7.) 20 Jun 2021 21:18:56
He didn’t get torn apart at all. 1-0 was the final result and Italy had hardly any real chances, all while playing against a superior team with 10 men for half of it.

He’s young and playing on the left when he usually plays on the right! Can’t please some people 🙈🙈🤣🤣.

8.) 20 Jun 2021 23:01:18
Love your response Ed025. I'm not sure what people expect.

{Ed025's Note - its one of the reasons our national sides are poor stone, the academy lads hardly get a chance mate and the ones that do get slaughtered if they make a mistake, thats the game as it is today im afraid..

9.) 21 Jun 2021 02:24:29
Playing out of position as LWB, with gunter as cover will not help anyone and to have chiesa and bernadeschi running at you for the 85 mins he was on, in all honesty I thought he did well.
Chiesa looks a real talent. EDS have juve signed him or is he going back to fiorentina.

{Ed001's Note - what do you mean? He is a Juve player who was on loan to Fiorentina. They paid £9m just to loan him.}

10.) 21 Jun 2021 06:40:16
Think it’s the other way round Ed, He is on a two year loan to Juventus from Fiorentina with an obligation to buy he does look like a fantastic talent makes you wonder how Beradi gets in ahead of him in Italian team.

{Ed001's Note - you are right I wrote it the wrong way round. He is on loan to Juve from Fiorentina for £9m.}

11.) 21 Jun 2021 06:50:18
I've never really rated neco. I'd personally let him move on. Not bashing him but just my opinion. Not good enough for us.

{Ed001's Note - he is a kid played out of position and people are on his back? Far too early to judge him.}

12.) 21 Jun 2021 06:53:43
Thought he played for fiorentina and signed a two year loan deal for juventus, with obligation to buy.

13.) 21 Jun 2021 08:38:17
If Nico was playing rb then it would have been a much fairer test. But he is having to play on the left with his inferior team down to 10 men. It will have been great experience for Nico and I hope he is getting more support from his teammates than he is getting on here. Hopefully he will get his chance at rb.

14.) 21 Jun 2021 09:04:08
Wasn't Trent getting hammered for his defending a season or 2 ago? He has improved in that area, Williams is a talent who will improve, for a back up who will play only 5-8 games probably, barring injury, i think the lad needs to be cut some slack, he has the ability just needs the confidence, maybe a loan to get the games and feel of what a hard season feels like would be good for him, but i do think he would more than do a job for us.

15.) 21 Jun 2021 08:57:42
Spot on, Ed25. The young players of today simply cannot win. Get this: The same people crying about young kids not getting a chance, are prolly the same ones slaughtering them when they make mistakes. This is the nonsense we are being afflicted with on a daily basis from these types of 'fans" or microwave supporters as you call them.

Neco is a kid trying to learn the game at the highest level for both club and country. What were people expecting? That he become the real deal overnight? And when he has growing pains (as if nobody has ever been thru that before clearly), that when he needs the support and patience the most IF you think he can be the player you think he can be.

That is what has been killing the Italian national team for years and that is what Roberto Mancini has changed and we see the results. He said Serie A managers are too scared to give kids a chance in the Serie A hence to show them up for being cowards, he picked Nicola Zanioli of Roma who was killing it with the Italy U21's YET had not even played for Roma yet. He did it to draw attention to this prob. and we now see what he has done with the likes of Locatelli, Barella, Bernadeschi, Spinazola etc.

Neco needs the experience and in order for him to be the player many at the club and Wales think he can be. He will only get better as he gets his hands (or legs) dirty and that will only help him. .

{Ed025's Note - the mentality has to change in the EPL oli or whats the point of even having academy,s?, there is nothing more satisfying for me than to see a young guy coming through the ranks and making it to the first team, of course they will make mistakes we all know that so lets have some encouragement rather than berating them when they are not the finished article..

16.) 21 Jun 2021 09:11:02
Playing out of position against one of the most exciting young wingers in Europe is hardly a gauge to measure an inexperienced player. Thought he did ok in the circumstances and he’ll learn a lot from it. Hardly like he skied a sitter, is it? *cough* GARETH BALE *cough*.

17.) 21 Jun 2021 10:15:40
Unfortunately Ed025 it’s symptomatic of the FIFA generation who see players as robots who should all do the same thing every time, in accordance with their predetermined ‘stats’. They’ve also been sucked into the negative, reactionary sphere of footballing opinion, where every single goal a team concedes has to be someones fault (never something good from the opposition), and every loss has to mean something. Everyone is a ‘fraud’, an *insert X value* merchant or ‘deadwood’. You can’t make a mistake and be a good player (it’s simply not possible) and it doesn’t matter if you don’t work hard off the ball as long as the twitter echo chamber has decided you’re a ‘baller’.

Fortunately however most of the season ticket holders in the North of England seem to still be pretty tolerant and knowledgeable about the game, it seems to be mostly a problem that is contained mostly to the internet or the London clubs. Though it is annoying that the loudest voices are often the most heard i suppose the answer is to just stay off the internet and stay away from Arsenal as well as that stupid soap opera of a fan channel that follows them everywhere.

{Ed025's Note - good post that AW, its just something the really irks me mate, fans are all clamouring for the next big name from abroad when the real art in the game is to bring through the youngsters... thats what good coaches do, there are some fine players in our lower leagues as well who should be considered and that can only be beneficial to our home nation squads, but if it is to work the mentality of the supporters needs to change imo..

18.) 21 Jun 2021 11:25:29
Spot on Ed025, i’m sure you’d agree with me in saying nowhere embodies that shift better than Everton. It started to go downhill for youse when the concept of ‘scouting’ got thrown out the window and, buoyed by the optimism of your newfound Moshiri riches, decided to buy everyone and anyone who’d looked good on Match of the Day. Managers came and went, none of whom had the patience or skill to coach lesser known players to become something more, and before you know it you’re left with a mess of a squad full of overrated mercenaries who don’t do any hard work at all, either off the ball or on the training pitch, because they haven’t had to to get where they are. All the while the fans have been complicit and encouraging in this strategy, berating less flashy players for having a bad run of form while deciding that the solution is to replace them with yet more ‘big names’ without wondering whether they’re the right players.

That’s why I don’t really get the clamour for another prestigious manager who plays attacking football, The Ev need to go back to basics and become a defensively solid, hard working team that builds from the back and gives perceived ‘lesser’ players a chance. I think Rafa could give you that, some of the other names i’m not so sure.

{Ed025's Note - to be fair AW thats why brands was brought in as DOF, yes he has made a couple of mistakes but its not an easy fix at everton as you say because of the mess managers have got us in.
I dont mind rafa myself but we need unity at the club and unless he gets off to a flyer the natives will get restless, the liverpool connection wont go away so it will be a big call if we do appoint him mate but you do make some very good points..

19.) 21 Jun 2021 16:50:07
Do you think you will appoint him? I think it would be a bad decision for fans and rafa. Poisoned chalice and one that will turn very quickly on rafa. Steer clear rafa, only one team in Liverpool and he's been there done that 😜😜.

{Ed025's Note - he is odds on to get the gig marty but i think we may see a few twists and turns before its sorted mate..

20.) 21 Jun 2021 19:53:00
I just can't see a happy ending mate, for either party. Rafa is on a hiding to nothing if he takes it. I read today that you had changed ya mind cos of the reaction and the knuckle dragging fans leaving all sorts of abuse for rafa at the ground.

19 Jun 2021 19:24:22
Billy Gilmor if not wanted by Chelsea I'd gladly be more than happy with him in our club.

Jonlennon32

1.) 19 Jun 2021 21:59:14
Aww watched a game have we. We need goal scoring midfielders.

2.) 19 Jun 2021 23:07:02
Watched a game or just can see he's going to be a top player I've forgotten more bout football than u know about it.

3.) 20 Jun 2021 00:16:06
He's pretty damn good, to be fair. The boy must have ice in his veins to make his first international start in that game and play as well as he did.

4.) 20 Jun 2021 00:25:44
Bags of potential there, but not the midfielder we need at the minute!

5.) 20 Jun 2021 10:54:28
No way Chelsea are letting that lad leave. He’s top class.

6.) 20 Jun 2021 17:01:07
We need much better than Gilmore even tho, I think he is the real deal.

7.) 20 Jun 2021 20:26:43
Oli, I recall him playing against us and absolutely dominating, I’d sign him in a heartbeat, he’s incredibly good now and his ceiling is limitless.
