With Mane looking to exit most rumours seem to point to strikers from continental leagues. Is there any talk of interest in strikers from the premier league? Ings was unfortunate with injury when he was at the club. Would Watkins or Toney be worth a punt considering both Mane and Origi are probably going? Or is there others who would appeal?

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool have no interest in these players.}

1.) 07 Jun 2022 14:55:11
To replace Mane I'd like one of (in order of preference) Nunez, Nkunku, David, Danjuma or Gakpo. Slightly different players but they all possess pace, power and lethal finishing on either foot.

2.) 07 Jun 2022 14:19:26
Transfer related the BBC sport website has the following headline Mohamed Salah:Egypt Forward rejected Liverpool request for a pre match injury scan. He played the full 90 minutes in the match on Sunday. The type of injury was not disclosed?

3.) 07 Jun 2022 16:09:11
Danjuma and Gakpo both have strong Ryan Babel energy about them, yeah they’re quick and they’re tall, but they literally have no idea what to do with the ball at their feet or how to use their physical presence.

There hasn’t been a good Dutch forward since Arjen Robben last played and these lads are just the latest in a long line of mediocre wingers. Very hard pass on those two.

4.) 07 Jun 2022 19:00:55
Vvvv who would you like mate? I'd choose nunez myself as haven't really seen the others.

5.) 07 Jun 2022 22:34:08
Nunez, Jonathan David, Jarred Bowen, Lauturo Martinez, Nkunku would be who I’d be looking at Magico.

6.) 08 Jun 2022 08:35:13
I like Nunez, think he'd be a good fit. Nkunku would be the other and I think he can play anywhere across the front line to good effect. Both are young and good goal scorers which I think is the profile we want.

7.) 08 Jun 2022 10:02:27
VVVV, of those options i think only David is realistic but i do have my fingers crossed for Nunez.

Do you see any truth in the rumours that Jude Bellingham has agreed personal terms with a summer transfer muted? And if so, has he agreed terms with other clubs too?

{Ed002's Note - No, Liverpool have not agreed terms with Bellingham.}

1.) 25 Jan 2022 12:48:15
Dortmund don’t want to sell players on the never never! The time we structure a nvr nvr deal he will be long gone!

2.) 25 Jan 2022 15:40:00
Fans back, Nike deal and Anfield Road expansion!3 things to be more hopeful concernings transfers. The upcoming financial reports should be the worst then things will improve. Before CV i think our revenues were in the top 5 of World football, we'll get back there again.

Hello Eds. You've mentioned the quota for non "home grown" players in a few posts recently and it becoming a difficulty for Liverpool. Can you explain the rule and Liverpool's current position in relation to it please?

{Ed002's Note - The 25 man squad can contain a maximum of 17 non Home Grown players over 21 in it. Liverpool is up to the limit if you consider the likes of Karius and Grujic returning - so players need to be sold or loaned out before others can be added. Alexander-Arnold adds a complexity as he will be taking up a full squad place for the first time next season as well - but he can take the place of Clyne. Right now Liverpool has the following non HG players in the squad:
Van Dijk

1.) 14 Jun 2020 10:08:44
Out of that list I can see maybe 5 of them sold or loaned out. If we can get a deal on Coutinho I'd take him back as I think he will want to prove his worth.

{Ed002's Note - Which five?}

2.) 14 Jun 2020 10:17:08
Coutinho made his bed and he can lie in it. We’ve gone on to win the Champions League and Premier League without him.

3.) 14 Jun 2020 11:22:52
Morning eds2.
Have we received all the money owed to us from Barcelona for coutinho?

{Ed002's Note - The final payment that Liverpool will get arrives this month.}

4.) 14 Jun 2020 11:37:01
Ed002, I think the following could be sold, loaned or free to leave,

{Ed002's Note - The club want Adrian to stay. There is not guarantee that Grujic will get a WP and the club will be open to sell and talks have already happened between his agent and Lazio. The club will look to sell Karius. The chance to sell Lovren has diminished in the last 10 days. There have been no efforts to sell Origi. Liverpool had the opportunity to use Shaqiri in a part exchange deal plus money - but that is on the back burner for now.}

5.) 14 Jun 2020 11:59:14
Can liverpool just not register a player in their squad if they don't want to? So they wouldn't take a non hg place?

{Ed002's Note - Sure - but why would they do that as they would be paying a player who would be unable to play?}

6.) 14 Jun 2020 11:50:32
Morning ed, Karius I doubt very much will take up a place in the squad next season. Shaqiri will be sold and maybe Lovren. This will allow us to make a couple of purchases if funds allow.

7.) 14 Jun 2020 18:44:07
I dis not know that Scots were not home grown. I know they have their own league, but assumes we were all one nation so all home grown. What about the Welsh? Would be hard if Cardiff or Swansea had to have all Welsh players for their home grown quota 😂.

{Ed002's Note - It is The FA of England and Wales. Scotland have their own FA.}

8.) 15 Jun 2020 11:32:46
Would the ruling on extra subs get passed and continue into next season would there be an option to extend a squad size by a couple of spaces to accommodate?

{Ed002's Note - The ruling right now only relates to this season and why would the squad size need to increase?}

While the starting team is almost predictable barring injury, the five sub rule in Europe could throw up an unexpected appearance in the final. Fatigue might force Klopp's hand. Maybe Minamino or Elliott for a late addition? Great rule in Europe that gives a full bench and keeps every player eager.

1.) 24 May 2022 13:00:08
I think Milner and Jones will certainly get minutes, Elliott im not so sure. Assuming we start with Diaz, Mane and Salah then Jota and Firmino could easily get game time but it all depends on the score at any given time and if it goes into Extra Time.

2.) 24 May 2022 16:22:52
I think starting Milner (next to Fabinho) is not a bad idea at all. The sole objective being keeping a lid on Kroos and Modric. They are the lifeline to Benzema's play. And if we keep Benzema quiet then a lot of our job is done; he's having the season of his career and his confidence must be sky high.

3.) 24 May 2022 17:26:54
I think you’d probably get decent odds in the bookies on a Fab-Hendo-Milner midfield to start a CL final.

I’d imagine Kroos and Modric would even chuck a couple of quid on it out of joy.

4.) 24 May 2022 15:09:19
I think we'll see Milner at some point. He'll come on and take a booking for a professional foul on Vini Jr or someone like him, haha.
Seriously though, they often replace Modric and Kroos with fresh legs and we might need to do the same in the middle of the park.
I just hope we're not chasing the game like we've been doing the past few weeks. I think our options from the bench look weaker than they did a few months ago.
I'd love for Diaz to come on as an impact sub but I think he has to start because Jota and Firmino have been out of sorts.

5.) 24 May 2022 19:42:59
I would start Mane, Salah and Firmino up top. I was thinking the same as Rigsby about the midfield subs. If our midfield is fully fit, I would even still have Thiago on the bench and start with Fab, Hendo and Keita. When Real make their subs to bring on more energy in midfield, we bring on Thiago for more control and Diaz off the bench against a tired defence, hopefully we can have some sort of control by the time we need fresh legs though.

{Ed0666's Note - Diaz has to start mate it’s just imperative in my opinion.

6.) 24 May 2022 22:00:16
All well and good Robbospress, but what happens if by the time Thiago came on we are 2 or 3 down? You have to start with your strongest team in a CL final.

7.) 24 May 2022 20:55:26
Diaz has to start because Jota is out of form. If Jota was in form and scoring, I'd love the luxury of Diaz coming on and terrorising their tiring defence. As things stand, we can't afford to wait for the last twenty minutes for Diaz to enter the game.

24 Mar 2022 19:42:15
With Divock likely to leave in the summer and Diaz already signed, do you see any youth player likely to step up as a senior squad player?

1.) 24 Mar 2022 21:12:01
I really hope Musilowski progresses to the first next season. There’s also still the hope we bring Carvallho in from Fulham as well.

2.) 25 Mar 2022 07:08:56
I hope Paul Glatzel makes it.

3.) 25 Mar 2022 09:44:53
He’s been injured virtually all season and hasn’t impressive with the u23s in the same way he did at u18. This was a big year for him to miss in his development.

4.) 25 Mar 2022 10:06:40
Kaide Gordon is the obvious answer to replace Origi as 7th choice. But the next best in our academy right now is Oakley Cannonier.

Ismaila Sarr was linked in the press yesterday as an Origi replacement. I've never been convinced by him but as 6/ 7th choice at a CL club, that would be about his level. He's probably good enough to be a key player at a bottom 6 Prem team or top 6 Championship team. Shaqiri level.

5.) 25 Mar 2022 11:04:21
Agreed MK but I'd assume he'd want to be first choice 🤔.

6.) 25 Mar 2022 11:27:04
Glatzel isn't making it as this level now. Too many injuries have hampered his development.

7.) 25 Mar 2022 12:14:11
Think Layton Stewarts very highly thought of but like Glatzel is just back from a serious injury. Gordons the star of the youths for me and bobby clarks being a good signing. Be interesting to see if the club are able to get Ben Doak from Scotland because he looks a real player.

8.) 27 Mar 2022 14:05:10
With you there, MK. Gordon is the closest cos he is the one that has actually played games for now. Hope he gets chances next season in the Cups.

02 May 2021 19:40:07
Listened to a small bit on sky. I was more interested in watching live sport than the ex players talking to be honest. Found it ironic that they question the "money mad owners" then turn around and say United should buy Kane and Grealish. For the most part football has been about the biggest wallets for a long time.

I don't like a certain commentator and his pal's commentary and bias on SkySport. Wouldn't complain if they were replaced but I'm not in the humour for storming the sky studio.

The super League plan was elitist and flawed from inception. The organisers got it wrong. Move on. As I say I'm not a big fan of certain people on sky but they're almost the only show in town so

I'll watch the match in if and when the mob allow it to go ahead.
Alternatively 3 points for Liverpool, dock united 20 points and force the Glaziers to go to Goodison.

1.) 02 May 2021 20:30:27
Love it Jag. I agree mate, didn't see Liverpool fans doing it when the previous owners ****ed them over big time. Are United fans going to do this every game?

2.) 02 May 2021 22:27:05
RH18, you don’t remember thousands of Liverpool supporters protesting against Hicks and Gillette?
We had those owners for just over 3 years, United supporters have had to put up with the Glazers for 15 years.

{Ed0666's Note - never remember maiming police officers tho.

3.) 02 May 2021 22:45:54
In any protest you usually get a handful of idiots that cause trouble. You can either focus on that and use it to score points or accept that it’s just a minority and recognize why the protest happened in the first place.

02 May 2021 15:20:25
Hearing rumours that Maguire and Lindelof were on security today at Old Trafford.

13 Apr 2021 22:17:40
I'm interested to know which Liverpool players have contracted C.V. during the season please. From my experience and talking to others who have had even the mildest form there can be some further health issues or effects afterwards. It may have impacted on some of these players and their fitness levels in my opinion.

1.) 14 Apr 2021 00:25:52
Mane, Shaq, Trent, Keita, Tsimikas and Thiago all tested positive for it in the first couple of months of the season iirc. Salah tested positive too, but re-tested negative and didn't miss any games for us. Possibly the same thing happened with Keita, but I'm not 100% sure.

There were probably more.

2.) 14 Apr 2021 07:44:21
Rumours were rife in preseason that Origi caught CV too.

3.) 14 Apr 2021 07:46:56
Salah did miss a game.

4.) 14 Apr 2021 08:15:55
Salah tested positive on 3 occasions and did miss a game for us, when he tested negative he was allowed return🤦‍♀️.

5.) 14 Apr 2021 08:24:06
Salah missed the Leicester game. Someone posted the other day something like Salah has missed 5 games since being at the club which is ridiculous. Salah, Bobby, Mane and Wiji must be made of granite in the modern day footballer world where the majority are made of crisps. Vvd could also be put in that category as it was a nasty challenge that caused his current njury.

Unlikely rumour as Bony is lactose intolerant and wouldn't go for cheese on his burger.

Sounds like Chico Flores order to me.

Probably need a Sundae to clinch the deal for him though?

Agree entirely MIKEY1985. Even in the Palace game we played well and got caught out.

It's been a very positive particularly the momentum we built in the second half of the season. Young players have had an opportunity and have a year more experience now. Having a smaller squad was probably an advantage for cohesion. If we keep the majority of the existing squad and gradually introduce more youth not many additions are required.

Hopefully we can add a couple of top quality players and supplement the current exciting team. Despite the pessimistic analysts who see our opponents strengthening, I believe in 2014/2045 "We go again".

As a Liverpool fan I remember watching as we beat Blackburn in '95 in their final game. The stadium and players seemed a little bit subdued with the thoughts of Man U snatching the title. The team were professional and Man U slipped up.

I suspect Everton will be professional but also expect City will be. Saturday could influence the title destination but, unlike '95, no champion is crowned this weekend. I hope Everton can derail City. Neither team will park any buses and may the best team win.

An Everton victory on this occasion may well be toasted more vigorously by the Red half. In '95 Blackburn fans were joyous in defeat. As Greavsie said "it's a funny old game".
