Top of table at Xmas is fantastic
But season don't finish until may and that's all that counts

Seen a few posts saying when the ox back
Can't wait to see him
With out being nasty to fellow reds he's not back or going to be up to speed this season
You don't get a serious injury like he's has and get fit and up to speed in a few games

Enjoy the ride.

We've all seen it with Ings (twice) and Gomez. It takes a year to get back to speed. Nothing less. It'll be a year in May for Ox, and if he has a good summer, then hopefully he'll be firing on all cylinders for the new season.

2.) 23 Dec 2018 07:20:57
Spot on, ArAy1969. I am as excited as anyone to see Ox play again BUT as you said, his knee injury was VERY serious and it will need a tonne of time to get back. More importantly, it is not the physical side that will be the issue. It will be the mental and psychological side of his recovery that will be vital.

Not sure if it's been said today only heard it last night
3 wins in our last 9 in all competitions
Not great at all
We need to get our buzz back and fast.

We played napoli Chelsea arsenal away from home and man city Chelsea at home them games are tough games against very strong sides we did well too only get beat napoli away and chelsea at home them games are banana skins for anyone, obviously we should be aiming too win every match, but we still not at our best and up there let's have faith .

2.) 08 Nov 2018 20:35:06
OP, look at the teams we played and the circumstances under which we played them and you will get a better perspective. Do I want to win every game? Sure BUT as they say in NFL football, "The other guys get paid too" therefore, you can't expect to win every game vs such teams esp. when you are not at your best.

3.) 08 Nov 2018 20:35:27
We'll be fine, don't worry about it, I'm certainly not because we've got exciting things ahead, believe.

4.) 08 Nov 2018 21:24:58
Salah, as usual - I am right behind you buddy!
Up the pool! 😀.

5.) 08 Nov 2018 21:33:46
Guys don't get wound up but I see nothing but failure. Even my prediction of a 3rd place isn't looking good.
Genuine question, if we don't get a trophy does anyone else see klopp going? I think he's gone end of season. Genuinely don't want him to go but its a results business.

{Ed025's Note - your certainly living up to your name walter, bloody hell mate have you got nothing nice or positive to say about the team or manager?, im an evertonian and think more of your team and boss than you do..

6.) 08 Nov 2018 22:17:24
Lol Walter I'm not even going to respond to that message mate hahaha! you barmy bugger, I'm sure he just does it for a reaction Ed25 mate lol I think deep down he knows we're going to win the league, deep down he's like me, isn't that right Walter? ;) .

{Ed025's Note - im afraid you are polar opposites salah mate.. :)

7.) 08 Nov 2018 23:21:39
I'm all about being positive and I think we'll net out fine this season. BUT Walter makes a good point, if we don't win a trophy this year what happens to Kloppo? Considerable amount of time and considerable amount of money spent, I think we should expect nothing less than to win something this year and I would think FSG feel the same.

8.) 09 Nov 2018 00:42:10
My honest opinions at this moment in time. Its not that I want Klopp to fail. Its just he will. I belive edd2 and myself were the only ones to say he would win zip when 1st appointed.

{Ed0333's Note - I bet you £100 Klopp wins a trophy before he leaves Liverpool.

9.) 09 Nov 2018 01:59:47
To replace him with who? What qualities would the new boss bring that klopp doesn’t have? Sure the money spent would prompt a knee jerk reaction perhaps but what is the better alternative? The only team ahead of us in terms of quality in the league is City, possibly one of the greatest sides to ever grace the domestic competition in England. Until i see regression and stagnation over a sustained period then i don’t see what sacking a manager who has brought us so far would do in a positive sense, even if we come up short on the trophies front this season.

{Ed0333's Note - I cant believe my eyes! I’m incredulous at the notion we have to justify Jurgen Klopps position. There are some serious melts out there in cyberspace. Woolpack please have a word with these idiots or I’m gonna combust. We are lucky to have Klopp, every club side in world football would have him as their coach and cyber pricks out there are doubting him. If Klopp was available today he’d be Real Madrid boss. Some people really do need a slap.

10.) 09 Nov 2018 06:24:30
Agreed AW, good post mate.

11.) 09 Nov 2018 07:38:23
I still can't believe some people fall for Walters post time and time again
It is a wind up guys so his posts get feedback and attention
nothing wrong with someone who spends all his time doing that on a fans forum is there?
I disagree with Walter and like always ask him to explain the raseoning behind thinking Klopp might get sack if he wins nothing this season.

{Ed002's Note - His reasoning will be is that the owners are desperate to win the league and have resorted to trying to buy it. After years of failing to make that happen they will have to think long and hard whether Klipperty is the man for them or whether they should look to someone who might be able to do better. Regardless, I doubt they will sack him.}

12.) 09 Nov 2018 07:59:41
I couldn't care if he doesn't win a cup we have progressed as a club since the day klopp walked in, we have identity, top players, fans believing again in the team and our reputation has been restored in UK and abroad as a team too b reckoned with, this season we are trying too show a different style and struggling too adapt new players have come in and important coaches have left, we just need patience and too support the team and the manager. life isn't always a bed of roses, sometimes we might have too take a few steps back too move forwards and we will be better for it .

{Ed002's Note - It sounds as if you think the fans have succumbed in to accepting that they should celebrate coming second. It seems to be only Liverpool who struggle with players adapting as well. I am not sure about the few steps back to move forward thought - you may wish to consider the reality of that.}

13.) 09 Nov 2018 08:01:36
Yeah absolutely laughable that this discussion even exists after a couple of bad away days in Europe. The team can and will play better this season and when they hit their groove and win 10 in a row I'll remind you of this, Walt. It's only you and some knobs on twatter spouting this nonsense. Unbeaten in the league after playing all of the other top 5? 3 of those games away from home where we picked up 5 points? Like seriously mate, either you're havin a laugh or your expectations are just ridiculous. So easy for armchair 'fans' and keyboard warriors to criticize players and staff who try their best and work in the club's interest every day.

We've got a great squad but I think it has 1 or 2 areas that could be strengthened. The main one for me would be a right-back. I love TAA but I think it's wrong to rely on such a young player to be our first choice RB. With teams targeting him and his form patchy he needs to be taken out for some games and rotated to recover focus and form. That and a Fekir/ Demirbay type player to add some creativity. Meanwhile, bring on Fulham.

14.) 09 Nov 2018 09:45:44
In Klopp we trust.

15.) 09 Nov 2018 09:26:13
No I am not celebrating finishing second ed 02 but look at the quality from 1st too 6th we have no Devine right too Be the best, and if we good enough we will win the league, the champions league, other cups but if we don't it's cos we are simply not good enough and we still are progressing too be the best, but in the process us fans can't change destiny but we can give the team as much support as possible as that is a very important factor. The 2 steps back is taken out of context as I meant in our gameplay not our mindset as we haven't been fluent this season as we adapting too changes so our gameplay has taken a step back in transition I am preying it takes 10steps forward a. s. a. p .

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool are a good side, there is no doubt about that. But the need to win something, and something significant like the league or the Champions League, to get that across to the fans.}

16.) 09 Nov 2018 09:42:47
Ed02, you claim “It seems to be only Liverpool who struggle with players adapting as well”. Seriously? You can’t think of any players at other clubs who have struggled to adapt? None? Just think of all those players at Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, Everton, Real Madrid, Barcelona, etc, etc who have taken time to settle in - particularly when a big fee is involved. It has always been that way, it’s a part of football.

{Ed002's Note - The occasional player struggles to adapt elsewhere. Liverpool has an ongoing problem with this and with transision. Of the random list of clubs you mention 5 have won league or CL titles in recent years - and Liverpool?}

17.) 09 Nov 2018 10:13:32
I would rather get our house in order too b talked about as an elite club and I think it now and I thought it in the summer we are still a couple of world class players down in key areas that will make this team really motor along nicely and challenge convincingly on all fronts, but in the process u have too give support and trust .

18.) 09 Nov 2018 10:35:36
Ed02, thanks for the reply and you make a good point about other clubs still being successful despite some individual players struggling to adapt. That is definitely something for Liverpool to aspire to. However, I do think that it is a natural and fairly common phenomenon for some individuals to experience difficulty in adapting to new surroundings and I don’t think it is a bigger issue for Liverpool than other clubs.

{Ed002's Note - Sure, it is not uncommon that some players do not adapt easily. Language can be a problem for some if clubs buy players who don't speak the language (e.g. Fabinho is still struggling); again if the player's old lady can't speak the local lingo; the cultural changes with the northern abyss - food, stuff to do, etc..}

19.) 09 Nov 2018 10:46:15
One thing for certain with fans of football on websites like this is, people get wound up to easily lol chill out reds, we're joint second until we take city's spot and keep it.

We certainly have nothing to worry about. In fact, quite the opposite. Well, that's the way I look at it anyway.

Walter is just like the rest of us, negative as hell but wants the best for our club, each to their own opinions fellas let's respect them even if we don't agree.

20.) 09 Nov 2018 20:53:35
Klopp is our best chance of winning anything right now, that is a fact. If people want him gone cos he is not winning a trophy fast enuff for them, then they should go ahead and force the owners to get rid of him. Klopp will end up with the RM job in 5 minutes while we will be ending up with Alan Pardew and Sam Allardyce. It's your choice.

Evening all
Just want to put this out there
Seen that Millie is getting to the end of his deal with us
To me it's inp to keep him
At the age of 32 he's playing probably some of the best football of his career
By all accounts he was the fittest in pre season just proves to the squad what being a decent pro is all about
Great to have around the squad and young players
Proven winner and versatile
A lad who could be so needed over the next couple of years
If used right.

1.) 26 Oct 2018 21:51:27
I'm only concerned about how much running can be left in those legs. He's been an absolute machine for years, it has to catch up to him eventually. Would like us to keep him on one year contracts, but if he's not happy with that we can wish him well with a premier league medal in his pocket!

{Ed0333's Note - I agree wholeheartedly. I’d also offer him rolling one year deals.

2.) 26 Oct 2018 22:03:25
Millie has been poorly managed of late. He's been overplayed and it's caused him some injuries. Your right though great lad good player.

3.) 26 Oct 2018 22:03:25
Millie has been poorly managed of late. He's been overplayed and it's caused him some injuries. Your right though great lad good player.

{Ed0333's Note - My niece is called Milly and it’s so hard for me to address James Milner as Milly ffs 🤣

4.) 26 Oct 2018 23:48:36
I think Milner will leave in the summer if Leeds get promoted. I imagine he would love a move back to Leeds.

5.) 27 Oct 2018 00:50:08
Top player, role model and professional I wish more would take a leaf out of his book. The way he is playing at the moment we would be crazy to let him go but he deserves to do whets best for him with our best wishes.

6.) 27 Oct 2018 04:59:30
Defo keep him for as long as he is happy to be here. He’s one of our better midfielders currently and the only one that passes and moves into attacking spaces, well bar Lallana but unfortunately I think he’s probably out of the team now.

7.) 27 Oct 2018 10:13:17
LiverpoolFC08, how was Milner poorly managed, exactly? He was one of our best players in the beginning of the season and deserved to play as long as he did ESP. since we had players coming in late for due to the WC and Keita and Fab needing time to get up to speed with Klopp's system.

Milner not only relished the chances to play, he thrived and put out great performances and that is credit to the club and Klopp for the way they managed his fitness levels cos we NEEDED him to play and play well. He is in huge part, to thank for where we are in the PL today. Your post sounds a bit wierd, man. Now whether Milner stays or goes will be up to him, IMO as I think Klopp and the club will let him make that decision as they did for Lucas, IMO.

Hi
Not sure if this has been talked about yet apologies if it has
I recall before the season began that one of the Ed's didn't see Gomez getting much game time,
To me he's lookIng solid and improved next to vvd
Hope the change to his natural position is behind this
For me vvd and Gomez are first choice
He may make errors but will only get better and learn from vvd
Thoughts.

Honest ross

{Ed0333's Note - I don’t think many Liverpool fans saw Joe getting much game time after Lovrens performances at the World Cup. Football is contrarie and things can turn on a dime. It’s only beneficial for the team that Lovren and Joe are fighting for a place as this will mean their both playing well. Gomez has excelled at center back for sure but he’s a not too shabby right back either and when we want to tighten up that defense another notch I’d have no problem with him slotting in there. Regardless he’s worked hard, by all accounts is a good lad and deserves his opportunities and success. I’m absolutely delighted he’s a Liverpool player.

1.) 13 Oct 2018 05:51:44
I'm delighted too, he's a great young player with a fantastic future ahead of him. He still has a lot to learn but at his age, who doesn't? overall I think we have a hell of a lot to be excited about with Gomez.

2.) 13 Oct 2018 10:52:04
To be honest, I was excited about him since Rodgers played him at left back at 18, and although he was far from perfect, you could tell this lad had something special about him. I can see him being a future star, not just a solid PL centre back. Being English and all, that’s not a common thing, but it is exciting.

3.) 13 Oct 2018 13:21:51
Agreed bardzo.

4.) 13 Oct 2018 22:03:54
Spot on, Ed. I was worried for him when he got injured 3 years ago and was not sure how he would cope being a CB for LFC BUT his talent was never in doubt. He has stepped up well and made our defence better, just like VVD and Lovs have with Lovs improving his game MASSIVELY. Great to have 3 awesome CB's out of 4 to pick from and in so doing, even Matip will have to up his game as well.

But let's remember that he is still learning the game hence, mistakes will happen (as we saw vs City and Spurs) so let's be patient with him cos like it or not, this will be his first season in the top flight playing at CB so he will still have a lot to learn BUT I'm sure with the calm head he has and his drive to succeed, he is in the best place (with the best manager, team mates and fans) to fulfill his potential cos he's got loads of it to spare.

5.) 13 Oct 2018 07:48:33
Ed333, What I liked and do like the most about Gomez was his desire to get fit and fight for his place after really lengthy injury. The Ox can take note of Joe’s ability and dare I say mental strength to come back stronger.

{Ed0333's Note - I hope so mate because we need a fully fit Ox firing on all cylinders and I never thought I would ever say that when he signed.

12 Oct 2018 22:04:05
Hi all
Re the earlier post
Agree we are missing the ox at this time
Agree also about not sure when we got him in .
But with time and effort and skill and a attitude to work and learn he became increasingly important to us, I think he changed a lot of fans thoughts on him
Also gets the club and settled well
Also understand his desire to play for Klopp in the right position for him

Just hope Keita can look and learn form him and push on once he settled in
As sure he's going to be great
The future looks good.

Honest ross

1.) 12 Oct 2018 17:15:31
I think keita will be grand as long as he doesn’t kick off behind the scenes. Started well and as the season progresses, I think he could be a big big player. I’m more concerned about Fabinho - let me rephrase, less concerned but more impatient. I think he could be a monster in the middle. Hoping he settles and adapts to klopps game sooner than later.

2.) 13 Oct 2018 22:09:02
Spot on, OP. Of all the players we need in midfield right now, Ox is the one we miss the most, IMO and not Fekir. I said I did not want Ox here cos his record at Arsenal was next to nothing to write home about and he convinced me that he IS the real deal so I already ate my crow last season. The hope now, is that Keita can continue to progress and settle into the team so he can be the force that Ox was.

Agree with Ed’s oo1
We have made progress in the league
But let’s be honest 2nd or 4th
Not much different is it?

In my opinion we are going back in the cups bar champions league.

A good show at fa cup and cabero would be great

Making progress on club front but not trophy front

Why is this the case with the club
Need to win something.

We desperately need a bit of silver
Get the monkey off our back
Been far to long since we tasted any form of cup success
2012 long time ago
For a club of our size and the investment put in
7/ 8 years is far to long.
