Evening Eds. I'm reading various reports that LFC have asked the EFL for a 2 hour extension to get the deal through. Do you know if this is true and if it has been granted? Many Thanks.

Hersey7

{Ed0666's Note - the deals been ratified regardless

1.) 31 Jan 2022 23:14:42
Sorry for my ignorance, but does that mean he is a Liverpool player? Thanks.

{Ed0666's Note - sorry mate my bad I gave you the wrong info the deal is off due to lack of time to push everything through

2.) 31 Jan 2022 23:15:19
It’s fallen through!

3.) 31 Jan 2022 23:21:53
Sky sports confirming that the carvalho deal has not gone through as run out of time.

4.) 31 Jan 2022 23:23:34
Thanks Eds. Hopefully we can do the deal with Fulham for a pre contract for the Summer.

5.) 31 Jan 2022 23:16:49
Sky sports just said it’s off.

{Ed0666's Note - they’re correct

6.) 31 Jan 2022 23:17:41
Skysports reporting that the deal hasn't gone through in time.

7.) 31 Jan 2022 23:17:45
just been reported it's not happening. The loan back agreement couldn't be sorted out.

8.) 31 Jan 2022 23:18:21
Hope you're right ed sir as some reports say otherwise.

{Ed0666's Note - I stand corrected

9.) 31 Jan 2022 23:19:51
The deal failed to go through.

10.) 31 Jan 2022 23:26:39
So it didn't go through it is being reported, is it likely to be resurrected for the summer? The kid does look to be a decent player for the future.
Regardless considering the expectation was no movement Luis Diaz is a very welcome surprise and will significantly strengthen the team for the remainder of the season.

11.) 31 Jan 2022 23:21:44
Hi Ed0666 - just been reported that the deal didn't get done in time.

{Ed0666's Note - yes mate

12.) 31 Jan 2022 23:25:15
Come on. Did it really fall through?

{Ed0666's Note - yes

Good Evening Eds. Sky sports are saying we have turned down initial bids for Minamino from Monaco and Leeds. Have you heard if this is true and do you expect Liverpool to sell for a suitable offer? Many Thanks.

Hersey7

{Ed002's Note - Taki Minamino (RW/AM) Leeds remain concerned about losing Raphinha and have asked about the about the availability of Minamino but Liverpool are expecting to have to rely on him during AFCON but will perhaps be open to a summer sale. I am not aware of any approach from Monaco but I am aware that they fear Aleksandr Golovin could be tempted away - he may well provide an option, but I am not sure.}

1.) 27 Jan 2022 21:05:00
Is there any chance maybe Minimino joins Leeds with Raphina moving to us in the summer? Ideal for us if we can egotists a good price, must admit haven’t seen that much but what I have seen looks a good player. Would the majority be happy with losing Taki if it meant getting Raphina?

Have to admit I do like Minimino and think he deserves more games than he gets, but for some reason doesn’t get the games.

In addition would Neco or Phillips be of interest to them? I think would add quality to their squad.

{Ed025's Note - it would be £50+ minimino for raphina i imagine jonesy, one of them is a very talented class footballer...the other is minimino mate..

2.) 27 Jan 2022 21:26:13
Ha ha ha low blow that Ed.

{Ed025's Note - a very truthful one though mate.. :)

3.) 27 Jan 2022 21:30:02
Looking forward to lampard ed25?

{Ed025's Note - you know what marty i think there is worse out there mate, would not have been my first choice but he has managed in the prem and is prepared to give the young guys a chance...so why not?..

4.) 27 Jan 2022 21:54:26
Ed do you really think 50+ for Raphina? I wouldn’t say that much in all honesty, say 40.

{Ed002's Note - I think he is younger than that.}

17 Jan 2022 21:08:44
Good Evening Eds. I see Sky Sports are still reporting that Aston Villa are still keen to sign Bissouma this Window. If they were to make an offer this Window, do you think Liverpool would enter the race due to fear of losing him? Many Thanks.

Hersey7

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool will not be forced in to making offers for players as a result of what other clubs do.}

04 Oct 2020 14:23:10
Hi Eds. Has the Work Permit situation changed for Grujic? The reason I ask is that if the tabloids are to be true and another Premier League club wants to buy him, surely they would have the same Work Permit issue? Thanks.

Hersey7

{Ed002's Note - No they would not have the WP issue Liverpool has.}

1.) 04 Oct 2020 15:44:13
Is the WP issue for us the fact we lied before or that he wouldn't be a first team starter?

{Ed002's Note - He doesn't qualify for a WP for Liverpool and previously got one on the exception rule where someone from Liverpool lied. Another English side would not have a problem.}

2.) 04 Oct 2020 16:12:31
Thanks for the reply. I never realised that.

3.) 04 Oct 2020 21:24:25
Don't sell Grujic
Don't sell Shakiri

Sell Keita.

4.) 05 Oct 2020 03:08:47
Would love to have a time machine and just not sign him in the first place. Keita is the biggest waste of money the club has ever made. Of course we should sell him but the problem is who is going to buy him? Certainly no English team, and his reputation in Germany is not as high as some people seem to think. The club will have to bite the bullet and make a considerable loss if we are to get rid of him. Total fiasco.

5.) 05 Oct 2020 09:57:27
Keita has looked sharper than ever as of late but admittedly does seem to just lose concentration at times in games. He has never really reached full confidence hence never reaching the potential that he shows glimpses off, for me it makes more sense to give him more opportunities to build his confidence than to sell him for what would clearly be a loss given his form and the current economic climate. I still think there is a class player in there somewhere and playing alongside Thiago may help his game.

{Ed025's Note - i dont know what games you have been watching CS, but he has been awful from day 1 mate..

6.) 05 Oct 2020 10:54:20
Your optimism is admirable CS, but if a player is still not confident after 66 games, he never will be. I think the confidence problem may be due to the fact that he knows he's not good enough for this team. I could go on, but I've been grumbling about him from day one on other sites and the guy is just exhausting me!

7.) 05 Oct 2020 10:57:35
I watch most of our games Ed025 and also follow the stats, a player who was only given 814 mins in the prem last season returned 2 goals and 3 assists, granted he is playing in one of the most attacking teams in Europe but a solid goal creation ratio for someone you consider to be "awful". I'm not claiming he is the finished article but he has shown glimpses of a top player and with more confidence and opportunities may be able to achieve some consistency.

{Ed025's Note - im not convinced CS, loved him at RBL but he has been a bitter disappointment for me mate..

8.) 05 Oct 2020 20:05:20
I'm with CS, don't understand the Keita hate at all. Think he will turn good for us and Thiago will only encourage that.

9.) 07 Oct 2020 00:41:18
I know keita has left many fans annoyed and frustrated but I for one am still backing him to become a success and improve. His last 2 seasons have been completely disrupted by injury setbacks and never got a run together to settle in. His few periods where he enjoyed some consecutive games have shown promise. He made his first start in December last year and was MOTM against Bournemouth notching a goal and assist. He then scored in our next game in CL and also scored in CWC and for those couple of weeks where he played before another setback he was arguably our most in form player. When he next got a run of games for us he was a top performer in a couple of games with key goal involvements to make the first 2 goals against Brighton and against Chelsea also. A few games he was in contention for the MOTM. This season he has not yet hit the heights but in midfield we have also seen wijnaldum perform below par, Henderson and fabinho have enjoyed sloppy games also from midfield.

We shouldn't write him off just yet when klopp clearly sees something that leads to him being a starter in our midfield to date this season. If keita continues to disappoint while playing and being fit for a long period that's when I will say enough is enough but I personally can see him improving and having more impact in his role while gaining more confidence once we get settled as our midfield has lacked any sort of rhythm to date with a rusty hendo starting twice and needing to be replaced early, fabinho hardly been involved in midfield beside him and thiago yet to offer that calm in our midfield where keita can thrive. Leeds, Chelsea and arsenal were not easy opponents either and keita can be far more productive in the fixtures ahead when we play teams who he can damage when bringing the ball beyond midfield. I sincerely believe he has plenty yet to show us that can stop the constant criticism as every game now the automatic scapegoat is keita. Curtis Jones and gini wijnaldum were just as guilty over last 2 games as being off the pace. Against arsenal keita was impressive in our 3-1 domination yet any praise seemed reluctant to be made towards him. Let him have a chance with a run of games and see how he does when up to speed.

AOC has also been largely innecective for the amount of time keita has but always gets the backing from us. Keita is only 25 so has plenty of room left for improvement. Just remember Henderson, wijnaldum who've been vital to our midfield were still far from reaching their peak when they were at keitas age. Salah mane firmino AOC VVD alisson weren't yet world class or even at the top level in the 2 seasons they were playing as a 23 and 24 year old. Let keita prove that he either can or can't make it while he's fit and available instead of letting his injuries define his ability as a player.

Ed's I've read that Liverpool have contacted Schalke Today regarding Kabak. Do you believe this be true or is it recycled news? Many Thanks.

Hersey7

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of anything new but Ozan Kabak (CB) has been of past interest to both Manchester sides, Inter Milan and Bayern Munich but the asking price has always been see as high, although it seemed to be something between €35M and €40M it could have halved due to the pandemic and Schalke having financial issues. The interest of the Manchester sides when he left Galatasaray for Stuttgart and he hit an age where he could never qualify as Home Grown in England - and that is something Liverpool should concern themselves with as well. I am not so sure he is the starter Liverpool have been looking for, but he will be cheaper than both Llorente and Diego Carlos and could still push Joe Gomez in to the background. He is well thought of by Borussia Dortmund who wanted Tanguy Kouassi as a replacement for Toprak and Belardi but he moved to Bayern Munich resulting in their making an approach and being told he is not for sale - but they have declared an interest. Schalke say they have also been approached by Juventus and Leicester. A far better option for Liverpool than Mandi.}

1.) 19 Sep 2020 10:39:31
If yesterday was anything too go by watching kabak he looked like a thug who wrestles in his spare time and blagged his way on the pitch not a central defender .

2.) 19 Sep 2020 11:23:11
If Klopp wants him it's a no brainer, other than Karius and arguably Grujic he hasn't got many wrong.

3.) 19 Sep 2020 11:26:26
Thanks Ed002. Much appreciated.

4.) 19 Sep 2020 15:14:02
It's a matter of personal opinion I know, but Keita has been a bigger flop than Grujic. The guy hasn't even been given an opportunity to show his ability under regular season and high pressure situations, yet. Even Hoever got more opportunities than Grujic.

5.) 19 Sep 2020 20:29:00
RA definitely, Keita has been my biggest disappointment since Harry Kewell, both excellent at their previous clubs but complete bo**ock* for Liverpool.
Grujic came as an unproven talent and I still believe he could play in the Premier, but not top four.

6.) 19 Sep 2020 21:13:16
shughes55 to be fair to Harry Kewell he was all ready past his best when we signed him few bad injuries he never really got over. But Keita has just been a waste of time and money.

7.) 19 Sep 2020 22:25:17
Was their interest Shaqiri from Sociedad, do you think that can be used as a make weight for Llorente. Similar to the Hoever to Wolves deal.

8.) 20 Sep 2020 04:03:47
Apart from the Thiago deal, we have signed 2 players out of the blue. I won't be surprised if we did it again. In fact, I'm hoping that we do.

{Ed0666's Note - it really turns me on when Liverpool pull these rabbit out of hat covert transfers. Long may it continue.

9.) 20 Sep 2020 07:18:21
Keita is being slagged and Kewell was brought into the picture.
Honestly, when those transfers happened, weren’t we fans excited?
Too bad it didn’t turned out the way we want.
There might yet be time for Keita. I just hope we do not lose too much money if it doesn’t. Benteke was not too bad a transfer in that we don’t lose money (although that one, I wasn’t excited from the beginning)
Grujic, extremely harsh to label that as a failure. I would say it is a good buy since we are likely going to make a profit out of it.

10.) 20 Sep 2020 08:09:23
It is nigh on impossible to have a 100% success rate in the Tm, but our management team does pretty well. Naby is surely worth half of what we paid as a makeweight in a swap deal, however, with Thiago and Jota on board now, the standard in the squad has been raised considerably, which should have a really positive effect on the rest of the players.

Personally i think Ox and Naby are competing for their futures at LFC now and so need to raise their game, which i think they will do.
I love the way we squad build, allowing ample opportunity and time and then adding quality on top which increases the competition whilst remaining inclusive to those on the periphery.

I can not wait to see this side evolve.

11.) 20 Sep 2020 08:12:36
Seville are notoriously excellent in the TM but if Carlos wants to join us and we have plenty of sales lined up, there is still a chance he could arrive, right Ed?
I think the whole 'we are broke' narrative has been partly true but also partly negotiating tactic.
a world class, proven, robust (mostly injury free) CB would really take us to another level.

{Ed002's Note - The lack of money is not a negotiating tactic.}

12.) 20 Sep 2020 09:08:51
I've seen carlos play mainly in the Europa league where he gave away penalties like they were going out of fashion.
Not impressed with him to be honest, I would prefer if we developed what we already have instead of getting him .

13.) 20 Sep 2020 09:25:07
Whatever about the money I disagree that Carlos would take us to another level. What level? How would he improve the team so much more than with Gomez in it? Thiago will improve the team and squad and give us new options. A new CB would only have marginal gains, if any.

14.) 20 Sep 2020 11:31:12
How much would he cost any side mate?!

Hi Eds, I'm obviously hopeful that Liverpool pull themselves out of this form, but if they were to finish outside the top 4, would any of the players have it written into their contracts that they could leave with no champions league football? I only ask as I'd hope we would keep the nucleus of the squad and push on next season with (hopefully) a fully fit squad to choose from. Thanks in advance.

Hersey7

{Ed002's Note - No they won't.}
