Reading the latest Italian papers Liverpool value Nunez at £60m yet Napoli have offered £37m. It's stalled so De Laurentis has stepped in to talk to the agent who's trying to get the deal done. Surely a compromise of £50m will do it.

Graeme Souness moustache

1.) 03 Jul 2025 05:18:33
In the words of the late great ed2 - Napoli know what the terms are and just have to pay what is being asked to get the deal done instead of mucking around.

2.) 03 Jul 2025 06:36:48
Faith would you want Liverpool to pay £50m for Nunez?

3.) 03 Jul 2025 07:12:19
Nunez has 66 G/ A in 140 odd games in the prem league so I definitely would want 50m.

4.) 04 Jul 2025 01:09:37
Faith, Palace want £65m for Guehi, guess Liverpool should just pay it no arguments?

25 Jun 2025 16:55:34
Links again to Lukeba from Leipzig. Linked with him last year aswell so must of been scouting for a while. £75m buyout clause. Leipzig have no Europe so need to sell.

Graeme Souness moustache

1.) 26 Jun 2025 05:30:50
Yes please - Lukeba, Fofana and Martinez would be excellent, particularly if Nunez and Jota see their way clear to leaving (fingers crossed)

A squad of

GK: Ali, Mama and Pecsi

Def: Bradley, Frimpong, VVD, Lukeba, Konate (Hato next season), Gomez, Kerkez and Tsimi

Mids: Grav, Macca, Szobo, Wirtz, Jones, McConnell, Elliot (I wish), Nyoni

Attack: Fofana, Gakpo, Diaz, Martinez, Salah and Jota

Would be useful.

Of course there are assumptions that some will stay Konate, Tsimi, Elliott and Jota for instance so Guehi would work as an all rounder at the back if either or both of Konate an Tsimi left, maybe Stiller if Harvey leaves and perhaps a wooden rocking horse if Jota leaves. I’ve also assumed Robbo, Nunez and Endo will leave although the latter seems happy where he is.

2.) 26 Jun 2025 08:01:31
I know this might sound nationalistic, but does anyone else wish we had more English players in our starting 11? I know footy has changed, but when I started getting into football in the early 2000s we had, Heskey, Owen, Fowler, Gerrard, Mac, Murphy, Barmby, Redknapp, Carra etc. and as a kid it was so inspiring to see the local/ English lads…. or maybe this is just a sign that I am getting old? Back in my day etc.

{Ed078's Note - I'm old and am not bothered.

3.) 26 Jun 2025 08:58:37
To be the premier league you need the premier players.

23 Jun 2025 23:44:48
Italian sources also claim Chiesa to Napoli is also done just some minor details. So hopefully some big outgoings for the kitty before the end of psr for this season on June 30th.

Graeme Souness moustache

1.) 24 Jun 2025 01:36:33
Why is it better to have the outgoings in this PSR year as opposed to the next PSR year?

2.) 24 Jun 2025 01:48:28
all rough figures, but according to the info available. after the kerkez purchase is official, and current sales taken into account (Kelleher, Trent, Nat), our net spend will still be less than the prize money we've won last season.

3.) 24 Jun 2025 02:32:20
Because we've spent big so far in this window. Including Kerkez that's 177m out. Nunez, Chiesa, Phillips, taa, Kelleher, Quansah brings back in 100-110m. Your allowed 105m loss over 3 seasons. We posted a loss of 50m odd last season.

{Ed077's Note - the accounting for the fees won't be in full. they'll be broken down

4.) 24 Jun 2025 05:02:44
I believe for PSR purposes a transfer fee is amortized over the length of the contract so assuming Frimpong, Wirtz, Mamardashvili and Kerkez have signed 5 year contracts our PSR spend this summer is about £31 million.

5.) 24 Jun 2025 06:01:15
Which if correct thunderbird is covered by the quansah sale as that gets recorded in full due to being homegrown? Ed002 would have had a field day with some of these posts and likely misunderstandings this summer, sorely missed.

6.) 24 Jun 2025 06:23:00
I don’t know why people nowadays are obsessed with finance and balancing the books. Just enjoy the transfers and let the lfc accountants manage the rest. We’ve always been responsible under the owners and I’m sure we’ll continue to do so.

7.) 24 Jun 2025 06:36:46
People find different things interesting Shaq, just leave people be and skip over the stuff your not interested in.

8.) 24 Jun 2025 07:12:12
Where ever he is, Ed02 will be laughing his head off and calling us ‘fit to burn’.

9.) 24 Jun 2025 08:26:35
I've never understood the obsession over the money. Just enjoy yourselves and don't get stressed over what you can't control, don't understand and supposed to enjoy.

10.) 24 Jun 2025 08:59:06
I work in banking so I understand these things pretty well, however the bean counters at Liverpool understand it even better than I do.

11.) 24 Jun 2025 09:44:24
As is their prerogative, Ernest, but the daily reminder that people are f-ing clueless is quite depressing for me to read on the site I use for light relief!

12.) 24 Jun 2025 11:47:20
Nick1994 can you try get some high street banks reopened pal? ??.

23 Jun 2025 23:39:46
Searched Nunez and Napoli online and apparently Nunez is happy Togo to Napoli but they have only offered us €43m when we want €50m. Hopefully a deal can be done and he's moved on.

Graeme Souness moustache

1.) 24 Jun 2025 07:59:49
50 million pounds is what we should be aiming for. As bad as he is, he would still score as many goals as Sesko or Ekitike in the leagues they are playing in.

2.) 24 Jun 2025 08:18:19
Must be authentic if you found it online.

3.) 24 Jun 2025 08:29:28
The irony of you Flash replying with this comment, in a thread…online. Can’t make it up.

Lyon back in Ligue 1 and back in Europe.

Graeme Souness moustache

1.) 09 Jul 2025 18:25:26
I wonder what will that mean for Fofana? Will he stay for another season or will he move on?

2.) 09 Jul 2025 20:48:54
Does that mean Palace miss out on Europe again? That team cannot catch a break.

30 Jun 2025 19:47:03
Slot in his first season at Feyenoord brought in two and sold two. Second year brought in 10 and moved on 12. Think the manager knows who he wants and will be ruthless imo.

Graeme Souness moustache

1.) 30 Jun 2025 21:55:22
Shanks in his first summer LFC clear out got rid of 24 players, but kept the two most important coaching staff at the time, Sir Bob Paisley and Sir Joe Fagan ( have put Sir as filled two buckets with sick when Southgate got his last week)

Arne could also "kill four birds with one stone" by signing Hato as a left back cover only for Kerkez. This would mean "Goodnight Vienna" for Robbo, Tsimikas, Beck, Chambers and save four wages, and gain four transfer fees which could nearly pay for Hato's transfer fee. (though Hato would require a salary)

Arne is going to get charged soon! for extracting the urine out of every other clubs transfer policy! and still two months to go?

2.) 30 Jun 2025 22:13:28
It doesn't sound like it's birds that are stoned there.

3.) 30 Jun 2025 23:05:48
It's an age old synonym, achieving four things in one single action.

And it is four times better and cheaper than your negative view of keeping them all at the club for the new season, I think the new signings deserve better than them, obviously you don't. It's "dog eat dog" nowadays, sentiment wins you nothing in football, never has and never will.

4.) 01 Jul 2025 00:35:18
Are you talking to anyone real there @007?

5.) 01 Jul 2025 02:10:31
It may be age old but I'm pretty sure synonym is not the word you're looking for.

6.) 01 Jul 2025 03:30:04
He wasn't being ruthless at feyenoord, I'm sure if it was up to him he wouldn't be losing his best players every summer, that's just the nature of being in the eredivisie managing a successful club. Totally different situation at Liverpool so drawing a parallel is not very useful.

7.) 01 Jul 2025 09:07:10
West Derby,

If you think the LFC "Legends Teams" are still quite capable of winning the EPL, are you talking to anyone real there @WDWIV

Hello jcanred, Arne has already killed "two birds with one stone", this summer and with "LAST" seasons transfer window"? with another most equally popular player!

If you don't know? and if you want to know? I can re-post it if you request it?

8.) 01 Jul 2025 11:31:49
@007, I really, honestly, genuinely don’t have the first clue what you are talking about.

29 Jun 2025 20:35:00
With Pedro going to Chelsea and Brighton front runners for Elliot perhaps we will see a bid next week for him. Apparently Brighton are happy to pay the £40m we want. If we can get that price then it's 70m pure profit for the club from Elliot and Quansah.

Graeme Souness moustache

1.) 29 Jun 2025 21:03:29
As long as we insert a buy back clause, if Elliott gets a bit more physicality I can see him being like Bernardo Silva. He’s got the ability but not the physicality.

2.) 29 Jun 2025 21:07:15
40m sounds cheap to me, at least in this market. Having just won player of the tournament for the winners, he is a goldenboy of sorts - 45m minimum please.

{Ed025's Note - in this market Vango if Quansah is worth £34m mate then Elliot is worth about £70m i would say...and Jones upward of 79p.. :)

3.) 29 Jun 2025 21:29:46
I think you’re being a little generous on jones there ed25!

{Ed025's Note - im that type of guy Pegleg..magnanimous and generous to a fault mate.. :)

4.) 29 Jun 2025 21:40:21
£60M for Elliot. Sancho went for £70M.

5.) 29 Jun 2025 21:52:16
Wouldn't be letting elliott go for a penny less than £50m with the prices that going about these days.

6.) 29 Jun 2025 23:15:42
Would be hilarious if Everton bought Jones, just to read Ed025's comments ??.

7.) 30 Jun 2025 06:05:36
The look on Digger10’s face when we sell Elliott for £49,999,999.

8.) 30 Jun 2025 08:24:19
Jones would immediately be made captain if he went there.
The bloos simply don't have a player of his calibre.

9.) 30 Jun 2025 10:06:03
This "pure profit" thing lol it's actually taking on a life of it's own.

If I'm Elliot, I am staying at Liverpool. Understand his motivation to play, but what is he benefitting from by going to a club fighting to get into Europa League or Europa Conference?

If he is going to move he should move abroad to a competitive team.

Otherwise stay and fight for your spot at Liverpool. there is every chance we will pick up injuries. And from our perspective, other than bringing in some money, I would much rather have Elliot as back-up than some other youth or spending 10s of millions on a back-up squad player.

29 Jun 2025 14:28:08
Not LFC related but congratulations to the England boys on defending their title. Elliot scored again. Surely adds another 10m to his price.

Graeme Souness moustache

1.) 29 Jun 2025 14:50:27
At least 356m!

2.) 29 Jun 2025 17:29:28
It's an interesting situation with Elliott. If he wasn't already a Liverpool player, how many people would be clamouring for him to be signed after the tournament he's just had?
It's a shame as he's a cracking player, but as others have said it's doubtful he's going to get the regular minutes he needs to push on as Slot has better options.
It shows the depth of the squad we have now, as the lad would be a first team regular at probably the majority of the other sides in the Prem.

3.) 29 Jun 2025 18:49:05
I love the kid, he's not going to get a look in. Loan/ sell with a buy back option. He will be a Liverpool regular, just not for the next few years at least.

4.) 29 Jun 2025 18:54:56
He couldn’t get ahead of Szobo, who we’ve just levelled up on in Wirtz.
He’s never been further away from the first 11 as he is now.

5.) 29 Jun 2025 23:20:15
Personally, I would ignore last season in terms of minutes. i don't see the allocation of minutes last season as a strong indicator of what will happen this season.

In saying that, Elliot will be a squad player. So it's really up to him if he wants that or if we wants to make a move elsewhere.

If I were him, I would stay at least this season before agitating for a move.

27 Jun 2025 11:42:09
What's everyone's thoughts on this Alisson stuff done by the club. Is he off or something as it seems abit strange to me.

Graeme Souness moustache

1.) 27 Jun 2025 12:58:02
You mean the mini-series? No idea, could be trying to expand our commercial footprint in Brazil?

2.) 27 Jun 2025 13:00:47
Part of the clubs exclusive content on their channel.
It’s good stuff.

Does it mean he’s going? I’d think you’d release a vidoe like that after a player leaves.

Also pays not to react to every single video, comment, headline and so forth.

3.) 27 Jun 2025 13:20:40
What stuff by the club.

4.) 27 Jun 2025 13:41:36
Throwing it out there but maybe the club are just putting content that people might want to watch and there is no sub text to it.

5.) 27 Jun 2025 13:46:15
No idea but its the best documentary series the club has ever produced, emotional stuff. Great watch.

6.) 27 Jun 2025 14:30:49
Wondered why there was lots of clips of him with his fambo.

7.) 27 Jun 2025 15:41:36
Maybe he’s dying.

8.) 27 Jun 2025 16:12:06
Not the best taste, TB2, especially given the sadness in his family in the last few years.

9.) 27 Jun 2025 16:19:48
All just about paying homage to one of the greatest of all time to stand between the sticks.

10.) 27 Jun 2025 19:20:43
When he first signed he said Italy was a lot like home for his family, posters last night talking of when did LFC last do a swap deal?

The current Inter GK is Sommer who is 37 this December, three current Inter players have supposedly captured the attention of LFC, Martinez, Barella, Bastoni, perhaps this could be a potential swap deal for one? especially when Arne's first ever LFC signing was for a goalkeeper Mamardashvili, one can only wait till the season starts or Inter are finished in the FIFA CWC, to see what transpires as it did look like a farewell video, or perhaps it's included in a swap for Isak plus dosh.

As scoring goals is harder than conceding them! and naturally a goalkeeper is only as good as the defence/ team in front of him!

Brentford looks like the next team to be pillaged like Bournemouth (Huijsen, Kerkez) as Mbeumo man utd target and Norgaard midfielder attracting the interest of Arsenal, and Wissa a possible re-union with Frank at Spurs.

The price has always been £51m or €60m which was reported in Italian papers for the last few weeks. Napoli know that price so pay it or move on.

That was my first thought 007. Mama wouldn't sign if told he's backup. We then go and bring in a top young talent who's in the first team squad and an experienced GK for third choice.

The problem we have is who leads the line when Vvd isn't there. Konate showed he can't do it so bringing in a top CB who's a captain and can play lcb/ rcb is key. If Gomez is happy to stay then a younger player will come in but they also will want game time.
