Ed's. Do you think Micheal Edwards has a chance of being offered a new contract?
Seems he has done some good work again of late. Would be a real shame to see him leave

Any info would be appreciated.

Gaz827

{Ed001's Note - I would assume he would do if he wants to stay. I see no reason why he would want to leave right now.}

1.) 19 Sep 2020 12:02:46
Prob most imp signing if he’s this good at transfers,

2.) 19 Sep 2020 13:16:30
Ed01 before any players are offered contract extensions, we had better make sure Edwards gets his contract extended for a further 3 years with a cool 350k a week. And I don't care how many LFC junior employees need be rendered redundant to make it happen. Get it Done, FSG!

{Ed001's Note - I care who is made redundant!}

3.) 19 Sep 2020 14:20:40
Thanks Ed.
I think I’m right in saying he had no football knowledge as such. It was his business sense that made him the choice.
Is that right?

Would add to his status if true!

{Ed001's Note - I have no idea sorry.}

4.) 19 Sep 2020 15:08:41
Micheal edwards was with ea sports specially the fifa games so i doubt he had no football knowledge.

Reading through some of the posts.
Need to buy this, need to buy that.

Stop. Trust in Klopp and his built up team he has around him. Believe in what's happening.

When he first got the job, did we hit over 90 points. Has it been a progression, has it worked? Klopp knows who is buying who. He knows he has the same squad from last season with a tweak or two.
Is the youth not a great bonus to have, hungry to succeed, driven to be on the pitch more. Pushing the first team players for their chance. Curtis Jones, Williams, Brewster. Possibly Elliott. Those three will make us better, Minamino. You get your first season for free right? Bed into all of the new. On top of that he has been in the middle of a C.V..
It's always been the Liverpool way to give players a chance. Believe in the manager.
A manager who spent minimal money last pre season and went on to dominate the league with other teams spending around him. I haven't forgot that.
In Klopp I trust. In Liverpool I believe

YNWA.

Morning all.
Looking for some advice. I'm coming up to Liverpool to be around for the community shield game.
Where is the best place to go where I'm going to be around other Liverpool fans
I'm coming alone so I need a place where I can mingle in

If I don't ask, knowing my luck I'll end up in a Everton pub somewhere 😂
Any others ideas are good too

Cheers all.

Erm, have you heard about this itching called social distancing?! Don’t expect to find packed pubs etc.

2.) 29 Aug 2020 10:49:06
Anywhere down Mathew Street mate, The saddle in is a nice little pub as well. You'll be fine either way Bro.

3.) 29 Aug 2020 10:59:37
Tbh its touch and go with the footy at the moment as lots of people are still opting to just watch it at home, it isn’t the same. I might be going into town later to watch it but have not yet decided. My mate swears by The Flute being his favourite place to watch the footy, Matthew Street can get rowdy too, just stay away from concert square and all the students and you’ll be fine.

4.) 29 Aug 2020 12:31:20
The pubs are open there in UK?

{Ed002's Note - Yes but under strict rules of social distancing and table service.}

5.) 29 Aug 2020 13:21:15
Use the term "strict" loosely.

Morning. i've just read that Referee's are going to be getting bonuses. I didn't know this was a thing in the first place.
May I ask what they would receive these for?

Gaz827

{Ed002's Note - They already, or at least some, get bonuses. There is proposal to extend that based on "performance" but tehy are fearful of a "league table" being published. It will be decided next month.}

1.) 13 Aug 2020 12:37:35
They get a bonus every time they award United a penalty.

2.) 13 Aug 2020 14:43:13
That is a weird one! How can they get a bonus?! I'd like to see the parameters for their bonus! Most of them are utterly useless. Bonus for not getting something thrown at them lol.

3.) 13 Aug 2020 17:28:13
Rigsby - I think they had 21 penalties this season, but apparently they get no luck at all! They even got one at villa when it was clearly a foul for villa by the Zidane turn of bruno on the ankle of the villa player!

4.) 13 Aug 2020 19:28:40
Why not? If it makes them strive for perfection. It's what us fans want.

Ill surprise you all, I have a massive respect for top refs. It is amazing how often they make the right call. I'd get it so wrong I'd start awarding free kicks just because I gave the other team an undeserved free kick. I would completely collapse under the pressure. They get something wrong and everyone gives them hell, but it's hard to see EVERYTHING! I find it amazing.

I’m looking at it in a different view I think.
With the likes Of Man U, Chelsea, Man City all either spending big money or reportedly spending big money. I like the facts that. 1, we spent minimal money last summer and bought squad on the win the trophies we have, 2 the squad is still set to push on for another title this coming season and the only concern for me is that a Left back is needed to help out if needed.
We have enough in our youth to settle in again this year and have a good go at the league.
Brewster, Jones, Williams, Elliott. 4 good quality players that I feel will push on and get more in and around the first team squad
A good time to be a fan of the club.

YOU’LL NEVER WALK ALONE.

Lovren needs replacing imo gaz. And in fact I'd have that as a priority over lb cover. We have milner and gomez who can cover lb but we only have matip vbd hoever and Philips for the cbs. You need 2 seniors and I only see one. Ideally we get both, and i believe it can be done cheaply. Utd spend 85mil on slab and we get matip for nowt. He certainly isn't 85mil better, not even convinced he is better. Utd spend 90mil on pogba we get gini for 30mil. Utd spending 200mil on sanch, we spend 32mil on salah. City spend 50mil on (can't even remember his name) mendy! And we get Robbo for 8mil. Chelsea spend 75mil on pulisic, we get brewster for a couple of mil. The list goes on and on

My point is, we may not be minted. But that doesn't mean our recruitment team can't bring in some banging players. And I think they will.

Now, whoever is brought in, and taki should be included in this, MUST be given time. People wrote of ox, Robbo, fab before they'd kicked a ball? Some have said the same about mino. It often takes months for klopp and co to make these underwhelming players into European champions. And (why not) World champions. This allowing them to listen to queen in a literal way. That's a very exclusive club.

2.) 05 Aug 2020 19:02:06
Spot on, Robbie. Let us allow the club to do their job and wait and see. Not complicated.

3.) 05 Aug 2020 21:43:51
Hey Robbiesline.
Rowing in the same boat mate.
Like your return about anyone who comes in needs time. Why can’t the players bought in we should be patient with be the youngsters we have. Having them around the first team squad and seeing what Klopp and Pep can do is not a possible better option to bring the youngsters through?
Been some impressive players coming through at Chelsea

Be good to get your return mate. Nice to have a chat about these things rather than a debate.

For what it is worth for the chat. I remember reading Harry Redknapp saying that every club in the premier league had a interest in him at that time.

If I may Ed. What’s the possibility of sales of a first team regular?
With the club with no money and other clubs scouting our players
I. E Mane and Van Dyke and Salah offering himself to other clubs. Do you see a first team sale any time soon?

Gaz827

{Ed001's Note - yes, I expect Gini to go soon.}

Can that be seen as a head turner Ed. If Liverpool spoke with an agent of a player. Could that make him then want the move and not be as productive for his team.
I think it should be. Speak with club, agree fee. Speak with agent and player and if it’s a no. Move on. Simple really

I’m sure this was the way not so long ago and I can remember players saying no clubs
Matt Taylor to Sunderland when Roy Keane was there rings a bell.

Gaz827

{Ed002's Note - Clubs typically behave well.}

I can remember being at Highbury on a free ticket and my older bro telling me about Adams and when he spoke to the whole ground could hear him, as a young lad with footballing aspirations myself it was amazing to see. Took that on in my later years of playing and coaching the youth teams. Be heard but be constructive.
