Heard from a source of mine down on the sunny south coast that Harry Wilson is wanted by Bournemouth and the fee is expected around £25m. I think this would be a shame, kids got a great left foot and is lethal from dead ball situations. Have you heard anything Eds?

Funster70

{Ed0333's Note - if that’s true I think we’ve got a deal. Wilson won’t make the grade at Liverpool.

1.) 31 Jul 2019 13:58:55
Surely not £25m if it's Bournemouth. They like to give us lots of money. It'll more likely be £40 as he's twice as good as Tyrone Mings that they've just sold.

Then again, I'd happily swap for Ryan Fraser.

{Ed0333's Note - you think Harry Wilson is worth £40 million British pounds mate? That’s £10 million more than wolves paid for Raul Jimenez whose fifteen times the player Harry Wilson is. I respect you’re opinion tho mate.

2.) 31 Jul 2019 14:25:34
It’s strange, it’s like Bournemouth give us money so we can buy Southampton players. some weird rivalry thing!

3.) 31 Jul 2019 14:30:04
Think it’s best for all parties if this happens, he should be playing regularly.

We could really end up in the green at the end of this window, with this Kent and ejaria leaving for cash.

4.) 31 Jul 2019 14:45:48
Take the cash while his stock is high, he’s got one hell of a strike but the rest of his game is lacking.

5.) 31 Jul 2019 14:56:16
Ed0333, it was tongue and cheek about it being Bournemouth, who paid us £19m for Dominic Solanke, £15m for Jordan Ibe and £5m for Brad Smith.

Obviously I don't really think that Harry Wilson is worth £40m, but Mr Edwards seems to have a knack of pulling Bournemouth's pants down.

{Ed0333's Note - Oh ok mate comic irony is lost on me at 6am (I’m in a different time zone to you). If Edwards gets 40 million for Wilson he deserves a statue.

6.) 31 Jul 2019 16:05:20
If he gets 25m he should get some sort of award, a decent wee player with a standout free kick. A long way from our starting 11, and needs 1st team ball if even going to get anywhere near that level.

7.) 01 Aug 2019 00:38:44
I've heard of David Brooks having got an injury to keep him out 3/ 4months.? If true then Wilson be a good fit for bourmemouth, similar to Brooks in that he's a left footed advanced right sided MF who likes to drift inside to central spaces between 30 to 20 yards from goal. Both are Welsh, similar age and Wilson will have a couple of months to try prove he's worthy of keeping that spot, while it might push on Brooks to have to fight and not get complacent on his return. Be a great transfer for bournemouth and Wilson in my view and Eddie Howes use of 4411 or 4231 suits Harry Wilson's game.

8.) 01 Aug 2019 11:37:04
Well Bournemouth just signed Danjuma, which gives them 4 wingers. Ed002 is one of them leaving? Fraser or Stanislas maybe?

{Ed002's Note - Try the Bournemouth page.}

9.) 02 Aug 2019 15:03:23
Haha, there's a Bournemouth page?

07 Aug 2017 20:40:31
Virgil Van Duke hands in transfer request to force through move to LFC. Let's hope it happens now.

Funster70

1.) 07 Aug 2017 21:39:10
He's going wherever he can get. LFC ruined him at Southampton with more tapping up. I'd love to see it but I reckon he'll be wearing blue next season and for a cut price compared to what we would have to pay.

2.) 07 Aug 2017 21:41:13
It's to force a move, if anyone else offers the money I'm sure saints would rather deal with them.

3.) 07 Aug 2017 21:42:14
or he is sold to Chelsea if SH will not do business with LFC.

4.) 07 Aug 2017 22:03:25
He is coming to Anfield.

5.) 07 Aug 2017 22:16:19
LFC ruined him?
Virgil is a big boy, earning lots of money. No one dragged him screaming to Blackpool.

6.) 07 Aug 2017 22:29:34
He said himself that Southamton have known for 6 months that he wanted to leave.

7.) 07 Aug 2017 22:39:35
I think we blew it with VVD he will be a blue of Chelsea. I sincerely hope I'm wrong as I love humble pie.

8.) 07 Aug 2017 22:51:51
I reckon he could go to Chelsea no problem.

The transfer request is because he wants us but Southampton hate us.

9.) 07 Aug 2017 23:17:50
He didn't need a transfer request to move to Chelsea. It's only necessary for Liverpool to get involved and that's why he put it through.

10.) 07 Aug 2017 23:18:14
Would struggle to get in Chelsea starting 11 they don't need him.

Man city will be in for him.

LFC have ballsed this whole thing up and Think he will go elsewhere I'd Southampton have that luxery.

11.) 08 Aug 2017 00:09:32
Chelsea have like 17 centerbacks though. He would definitely be a boss at LFC.

12.) 08 Aug 2017 00:42:52
Exactly Robin. My thoughts too.

13.) 08 Aug 2017 07:01:38
I know we messed up but let's not jump to conclusions. Just wait and see what happens. I think we could get him but, we might have to pay more than what Chelsea would pay for him - compensation for our m**k up. All in all though, this has been an underwhelming transfer window thus far.

14.) 08 Aug 2017 10:42:51
Personally don't believe the Chelsea link, there's no chance of him replacing Azpilicueta, Cahill or Luiz, so is he going to go there to be 4th choice or possibly 5th choice behind the current 4th choice Rudiger? Chelsea have more pressing areas to improve, not CD.

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea want a centre back and have long term interest in van Dijk.}

15.) 08 Aug 2017 14:13:45
Don't forget they've also signed Rudiger, who I assume would expect to be higher than 5th choice.

02 Jun 2016 13:27:38
Hi Ed's, more rumours about Coutinho moving to PSG. I think we are all pretty sure he could be tempted but they have a problem with non-EU players in the squad, they can only have 3. So here's a thought, Coutinho to PSG for £40-50 million + Lucas Moura. Coutinho gets CL football, we get good transfer fee and a quality winger, PSG can fit Coutinho in to squad because Moura leaves. Possible?

Funster70

1.) 02 Jun 2016 14:17:42
Don't think that's the case seeing as they already have Lucas Moura, Thiago Silva, David Luiz, Angel Di Maria and Edison Cavani who are all South American?

2.) 02 Jun 2016 14:33:29
Di Maria and Cavani both also have Italian citizenship.

3.) 02 Jun 2016 14:36:17
Pretty sure their whole back 4 is Brazilian.

4.) 02 Jun 2016 15:04:08
Add Marquinhos and serge aurier to the above list.

5.) 02 Jun 2016 16:27:25
Have to agree with the above. I by no means what him to leave, and think as a club we need to stop this kind of thing happening each year, but as a club PSG would be an attractive offer to any player. Let alone a Brazilian!

6.) 02 Jun 2016 16:32:01
Add pastore to that list- Argentinian.

7.) 02 Jun 2016 17:34:06
It's a 4 player limit and Pastore has italian nationality, aurier has french.

8.) 02 Jun 2016 18:07:32
You can disagree with facts but they're still facts.

24 May 2016 14:12:39
Hi Ed's, read a report that Arda Turan is available. I know we have been interested before but would his age/ style mean we have no interest now? If I remember rightly he has good creativity and in my opinion would be an equal to Coutinho. I also think the price could be right for us, not silly money.

Funster70

{Ed001's Note - we have shown no interest in him in a very long time.}

1.) 24 May 2016 14:51:05
That train has left the station long, long ago. I wouldn't think about that fella.
If I were you, I'd worry (a lot) about losing Coutinho and that's all I'm going to say about this at the moment.

2.) 24 May 2016 15:21:34
Nothing new Solar. I think it's been known for a while that Coutinho was going to be off.

Seems to me your scratching at getting some attention on here by letting a bit of info go and then waiting for people to ask for more.

3.) 24 May 2016 15:34:11
Anyone who knows me on here, knows I don't do that. I don't come here very often and when I do, I have something. I rely only on two sources and I do not seek anyone's approval or attention. You're free to skip any time.

4.) 24 May 2016 16:18:48
Solar, Let me guess, you're best mates with his agent and they've got their flights to Barcelona booked immediately after the euros?

5.) 24 May 2016 16:38:22
If Coutinho were to be off would many be that worried? Yea no doubt he has unbelievable talent, but I really don't think he is as important to the team as some pundits suggest. It would be more his consistency, throughout each game, never mind the season that would still make me feel like he is replaceable.
Would love for him to stay and keep getting better, but a bit like sterling last year if he goes he goes, we will get over it. We're are a fickle bunch after all haha.

6.) 24 May 2016 14:28:38
Too old and at the price Barcelona want there is better around.

7.) 24 May 2016 17:44:44
Was that meant to be breaking rumour? LOL it's been said by the Eds here a long while back that Couthino has said he would leave or seriously consider leaving if Liverpool didn't make champions league football. Neymar has spoke out about it too, you have not really told us anything new lol. Search engine mate. Also if anyone goes it's because they don't want to be at the club anymore so good luck to them it's sad how fans moan and cry about a player leaving, it's football players come and go, replacements come in and could do better. Chill and enjoy your lives stop stressing or trying to get people to stress about Couthino leaving like its new news. Everyone should be looking forward to the new season. YNWA.

8.) 24 May 2016 17:53:19
Glad I'm not the only one who dosent care if he goes. Dosent do enough for me lazy sod.

9.) 24 May 2016 18:00:33
You have something Solar? Mate you said absolutely nothing! You've not made any claim, just said be worried about Coutinho moving. Of course we should be worried, he's one of the best players in the world not playing in the Champions League, there will always be suitors and temptation!

But if he moves you can say you knew he was moving and going to that club or handing in a transfer request. If a newspaper decides someone has interest in you can say you knew they were bidding. If he signs a new contract you can say you knew we were trying to lock him down because of serious interest. If he takes an injury on international duty you can say you knew Klopp wanted him to ease off the internationals and that it's causing issues that might see him moved on. You can come in with the attitude of 'I'm just passing on news I don't need approval, I know what I'm talking about, I have good sources etc' but when it's 'news' that cannot be shown to be wrong in any circumstance (you've said be worried about losing our best player - of course someone will be interested in him at some point), don't give attitude because people find it a bit of a joke! You cannot be right if no circumstances exist that could prove you wrong. Don't act like some mysterious soothsayer telling us our future - if you have something you're willing to share then fine, share it. If you don't want to share it then don't. But don't try and wind people up and then get annoyed when it doesn't work.

Oh and just btw, people don't need to remember you mate, they can see what you've posted in the past. From the looks of it, nothing since 2014 and that was completely wrong where we wouldn't be spending much money (we spent 117m) and the only time you provided anything to the discussion before that it was saying that MK wasnt going to move because of a complicated third party ownership that the club didn't want to get involved in - actually he just wanted Dortmund!

And before you glorify in getting to people, I actually just lost my job and am pretty bored right now, so I have time to kill pointing out when someone is being a plonker.

10.) 24 May 2016 18:22:53
Coutinho does nothing. really?

11.) 24 May 2016 18:11:35
I'm not aware of what the Ed's wrote about it. When information comes my way I try to share what I can out of it. Read it or skip it.

{Ed001's Note - I think I have mailed the right addy. It wasn't easy to remember. I really need to find some way to put them into categories or something to find them!}

12.) 25 May 2016 10:16:20
I'd be gutted if Coutinho left - he's our best player. We can't keep letting go good players. Ever summer we seem to be selling our best, whatever the reason. Disappointing.

16 May 2016 15:34:33
Hi Ed's, I have seen a report of a striker called Arkadiusz Milik interesting us and the gooners. Any truth in it and what's he like. Not heard much about the guy but 21 goals and 7 assists is a good return in the Dutch league.

Funster70

{Ed002's Note - Arkadiusz Milik only joined Ajax on a permanent basis in April 2015 and already they have rejected offers from both RB Leipzig and Augsburg and have told other interested clubs (Napoli, Everton, Inter Milan, Olympic Marseille, Leicester and Real Sociedad) that he is not for sale. Sevilla has made an approach to Ajax recently, as have Inter yet again.}

1.) 16 May 2016 22:55:01
Cheers Ed, not likely to happen then. Keep up the good work.

I have seen a lot of talk about Mo Salah being touted by his agent but is this the agent trying to get a big fat fee or does the lad actually want to move? I know I have a heart of red but surely we are one of the biggest teams to play for now, great squad, top 4 EPL finishers and 2 CL finals must count for something. Other than a huge wage cheque why move? We made Phil a great player before his move to Barcelona and we have made Mo into a world beater, why can we not appeal to these players for the long term.

Funster70

1.) 14 May 2019 17:36:27
If he does leave i wonder what salah the poster will do with his name?

2.) 14 May 2019 18:16:42
Even if we win a lot of trophies, Real Madrid and Barcelona are the biggest clubs in the world, will always pay well, offer sustained trophy challenges and lovely weather too. If you aren't a Liverpool fan the choice ia no brainer.

{Ed001's Note - Barcelona were not that big before Cruyff. Not outside of Catalonia anyway. It was success that made them big, so why couldn't a huge club like Liverpool move ahead of them simply by winning trophies? La Liga can't compete in terms of viewing figures, so they will lose ground if they are not able to attain more success in European competition soon. Messi will not be there forever and he is what a large %age of their worldwide fanbase support them for.}

3.) 14 May 2019 18:33:27
Great response eds👌🏻.

{Ed001's Note - it is just the honest truth. I know a number of Real Madrid fans last season who are now Juventus fans because of CR7's move.}

4.) 14 May 2019 18:45:44
If we get to the Champions league final every year, Liverpool will be the destination everyone wants to play their football.

5.) 14 May 2019 19:00:12
We were bigger than Barcelona before, there's no reason we can't again. I think we're on the right track personally and have every chance of overtaking them. I think a clear message was sent during the semi-final win.

6.) 14 May 2019 19:07:31
Your dead right Ed with all you’ve said. A massive stadium and sucsess but Messi is no youngster and we showed this season we can compete with the very best. Do you yourself see Salah moving this window mate? Ed002 has given his thoughts but wanted yours please?

{Ed001's Note - no, I don't think he will go this season. If he does it would be his loss as much as ours.}

7.) 14 May 2019 19:24:34
But that weather though 😎.

8.) 14 May 2019 19:32:57
No player is bigger than the club, if he leaves then he leaves but I can't see it happening either, good luck to him if he does, no big deal, we move on but right now he's a Liverpool player and get's my 100% support, I'm sure he'll be here next season.

ANY player who wishes to leave this club right now would be fools to themselves, unless of course they aren't getting game time like Moreno and co. But the starters would be silly to even think about moving clubs.

9.) 14 May 2019 19:46:24
Ed, after messi and ronaldo retire, do you think mbappe, or anyone for that Matter will take that position as someone who has fans over the club. While mbappe has talent to be the best in the world, I don’t see him having that messi or ronaldo wow factor. He is unbelieably quick, good feet and finisher, but he’s More like prime bale at the moment, bar the long shots to me, than a future messi/ ronaldo.

{Ed001's Note - if it is not him then no, there is no one else capable.}

10.) 14 May 2019 19:53:22
Salah. If you do decide to move on, I’d think twice about giving your reasons on here pal 😜.

11.) 14 May 2019 19:53:45
Many top teams need rebuilding for sure but I see Barcelona needing a big turnaround, Messi and Suarez have led that lethal attack for years now, dembele and coutinho have cost nearly 200mil and don't look like the answer, busquets rakitic vidal are on decline, pique (even though I never really rated him) has been their local mainstay in the back, umtiti and lenglet aren't good enough either. Losing xavi, iniesta, puyol, mascherano, all serial winners was always going to be hard to replace but their transfer business has been a huge failure to date. Signing players like paulinho, Kevin Prince boeteng, vermaelan, paco alcacer, delafoue, recently to name a few.

They've set themselves a few years backwards I feel and could be in for some tough years ahead.

Valverde seems like a dead man walking too, they're losing if not already lost their identy of the last 15 years.

I think any top player in his peak years should not move there, for footballing and career reasons only of course. I understand the money, weather, culture, lifestyle, and draw of the club's recent success still plays into their favour. But they've a huge project on their hands to rebuild that squad.

12.) 14 May 2019 20:09:31
Trophies are part of it but so is money.
A top player like Salah will earn much more in endorsements playing for Madrid, Paris or Barcelona than they ever will here.
Messi, Ronaldo and Neymar and the like earn ridiculous sums in wages but their take from endorsements tend to double their earnings.
Salah probably sees himself as the next Ronaldo or Messi with his face on posters and Macdonald’s burger wrappers etc.
Plus I think lifestyle has a lot to do with it as well, Liverpool doesn’t exactly have the same pull as Barcelona or Paris does it.

13.) 14 May 2019 20:18:52
Phil a great player?
It'll never happen.

14.) 14 May 2019 20:40:54
ed002 said don’t expect him to move this summer.

That’s good enough for me, Mo stays 👍.

15.) 14 May 2019 21:31:14
Good to see you back, Salah.

16.) 15 May 2019 01:41:18
Every real Madrid fan i know has become juve fan now😂the term is plastics.

14 Jun 2017 23:57:15
Salah done deal, won't be announced until Roma have replacement signed. Not sure it's a great signing but will certainly add another dimension to the squad. On another note, Smalling available for £10 million, got to be worth a look, English, international and experienced. Perfect for the champions league surely, what do you think Ed's?

Funster70

{Ed002's Note - There is no agreement on price and Liverpool has shown no interest in Smalling.}

1.) 15 Jun 2017 02:11:04
Smalling plays for United, why on earth would they sell a player to us. Secondly have you seen him play. No thank you.

2.) 15 Jun 2017 03:27:26
I'd rather keep Klavan and have Lovren be first choice CB than sign Bambi Smalling. Awful player with no positional sense and always has a idiotic mistake in him. Replacing Vidic and Rio with pretenders like Jones and Smalling is the reason why the Mancs are not the team nowadays they used to be during Fergie's heydays.

{Ed001's Note - I would rather bring Carragher out of retirement than sign Smalling.}

3.) 15 Jun 2017 06:01:10
I would rather pluck Skrtel from a future timeline (maybe 10 years from now which would make him 43 years old) and have him play for us than sign Smalling.

{Ed001's Note - not so sure about that one, that might be going a little too far.}

4.) 15 Jun 2017 06:11:33
Haha Ok Ed001. Then u may not agree with the ideas/ alternatives I have in mind if someone suggested Phil Jones.

{Ed001's Note - ah now that's different, I would still pick Tommy Smith over him now.}

5.) 15 Jun 2017 18:31:37
Surely Hyppia is first choice.

6.) 15 Jun 2017 18:49:35
I'd rather put a traffic cone in place than Smalling. The cone would probably screw up less offside tracks than Samlling too.

7.) 16 Jun 2017 16:18:30
I would resign Sotirios Kyrgiakos over Smalling.

12 Jun 2017 17:30:30
Hi Ed's, great work in trying to sort out the transfer fiasco so far. I just wanted to know your take on the whole transfer saga at our great club. I have supported LFC for 40 years and can't remember our transfer business being handled so badly. Who do you think is to blame? Is this something all clubs do we are just bad at it? What is the likely outcome? I was seriously looking forward to this window.

Funster70

{Ed002's Note - I have answered this on a number of occasions Funster recently. The blame for making illegal approaches rests with Klopp and the club.}

25 May 2016 13:58:11
Morning Ed, Coutinho out Brahimi in, what are the chances? Certainly think Brahimi would be great buy with his pace and left foot. Are we looking at another case of deal done for Coutinho but not finalised until we sign replacement?

Funster70

{Ed002's Note - Measured how?

1.) 25 May 2016 15:09:14
Brahimi is right footed.

2.) 25 May 2016 15:57:52
Davey, so is coutinho.

He is a nasty little gimp anyway, who would rather play golf on his private golf course than football, why would anyone want him? I think you will see Coutinho back with us for 2 reasons, 1) he adds creativity into the attacking midfield, something we haven't replaced, 2) Barcelona still owe us £88 million and they cannot afford to pay that fee to us with their transfer plans. I have seen rumour of a 2 year loan with an option to buy for, wait for it, £88 million. We pick up his wages and then write of the debt after 2 years.
Considering the guy knows the club and most the players it would be a move that adds something to the squad for very little money.

Living in Bournemouth and having seen both play I would plump for Fraser, he has incredible speed which upsets defences. David Brookes would be another one to look at from the Cherries. Wilson is a good player but not at the price being quoted.

City are still 3 points behind with 2 games against Everton and Chelsea coming up. They also have to play a League Cup final and 2 champions league ties this month.
We have still only lost 1 game this season and although there have been 2 draws recently we still didn't lose to Newcastle!
The league will be won by the best team in May and not before but I would rather have the points in the bag then chasing the team ahead.
Even if we don't win this season we are looking like real contenders now and can only get better.
