Have Liverpool ever shown interest in Ruben Neves of Wolves?

Fowler

{Ed025's Note - no mate..

1.) 10 Jan 2018 17:30:02
Thats a shame, he's a go to buy in CM16 ;)

2.) 10 Jan 2018 17:36:01
A shame as he is a beast on CM16, lol!

3.) 10 Jan 2018 18:39:26
Bummer. The boy was owning the midfield on my team in CM16! Great potential.

4.) 10 Jan 2018 20:09:41
Slight aside, and we've hijacked the thread, smed, but my midfield in CM16 always seems to end up with Tielemans as the CDM with Neves and Alli in front - awesome! An occasional flirtation with Pogba, but that's as far as it goes ;)

5.) 11 Jan 2018 01:28:53
What? Since when did Rúben move to wolves? He had/ has huge potential, he’s should be playing in the premiership for sure. I wouldn’t mind him as can replacement.

Nainggolan would be a welcome addition! Are Man Utd still pursuing Strootman? Thanks!

Fowler

{Ed001's Note - his recovery from his op will be assessed before they decide. Personally I expect the club itself to look elsewhere, though I know LVG loves him.}

1.) 16 Feb 2015 12:40:31
For me if we only bought nainggolan in the summer it would be fine.

Lucas, lambert and borini would get you most the money for that.

Nainggolan and can in the middle would do me.

14 Jun 2014 12:43:43
Anyone in for Hamsik this summer?

Fowler

{Ed002's Note - If Hamsik were to move then the EPL might well be an option. But for now that does not look like the case.}

I'm probably going to get blasted for this but with the rumours of Jota coming in (not complaining by the way! ) it makes me wonder what Shaqiri did wrong to not get more playing time?

The majority of the time he came on I remember him playing really positive, moving the ball forward and making contributions to goals.

Could he just not stay fit enough? Or is he actually bad and I just don't see it?

Fowler

1.) 18 Sep 2020 19:05:03
Fowler, Shaq cannot stay fit so why bother relying on him?

2.) 18 Sep 2020 19:07:16
He is still with us isn't he so why the question? He covers RW jota covers LW.
Its pretty good you can't expect fromt to play and press at levels they have for 3 years straight.
I think this season salah has a free role and with thiago we press in center than pressing up top. Means more possession and more passing game.

3.) 18 Sep 2020 19:08:54
He seems to be constantly injured mate.

4.) 18 Sep 2020 19:10:40
Shaq's not bad but his fitness issues rule him out as a viable option. Every time we had a game in the cups or something that could get a start and maybe a bit of form he got ruled out. Bad luck and nobody's fault really, but at the end of the day an injury prone player isn't much help throughout a season and Jota has much more room for development than Shaq. Also they generally play on opposite wings so actually they're entirely unrelated.

5.) 18 Sep 2020 19:54:29
More like his off the ball work was never good enough. I agree with the ball in his feet he did well and scored sum imortant goals. But Klopp not once told he needs to work in the other aspects of his game. This and his injuries. I like the guy a lot, but Jota is way better option. Hopefully by tomorow we will see him in red shirt.

Hi all, not sure if this has been discussed but would be really interested to hear your thoughts.

I was out on the weekend with friends and got into a bit of a heated debate, where they were telling me I can't/ shouldn't support Liverpool because I am not from there and/ or don't live there (never have) .

Apparently you should ONLY support your local team (Cardiff in my case) .

It made me furious! But I didn't really have a good counter argument.

To be honest there's no good reason why I support Liverpool, other than the fact that Robbie Fowler was my idol when I was a kid. Is that enough?

I have never and will never be interested in my local team so I don't see why I would switch now.

I think it would be tragic if everyone only supported their local team and surely football wouldn't be such a global game (I'm thinking about the amount of fans Liverpool have in Asia/ Africa etc. ) .

What do you guys think, have my mates got a point?

Fowler

1.) 05 Jul 2018 14:06:17
I grew up watching Rush, Barnes and co. with my grandad. It was a thing of beauty and a special time the two of us shared. I’m from London but when I started supporting the Reds, I couldn’t have even told you where London was and when I found out, my allegiance was set.

2.) 05 Jul 2018 14:22:21
I presume you meant Liverpool, coco? If you were from London but you didn't know where it was, it must have been a confusing time!

Fowler, counter argument is "I support with my heart first! "

I'm the same as you, my idols were Rushie and Grob when I first started supporting Liverpool, and I was then living in (and born in) London.

Been my team ever since, and the more I find out about it and the more I get to know fellow supporters, I made the absolute right (albeit lucky! ) choice all those years ago.

I'd rather genuinely love my team than just follow it like one of a herd of sheep - especially apt given you're from Cardiff ;-) :D.

3.) 05 Jul 2018 14:41:14
Its a global game. Liverpool is the name and location of the club. Its a long, long time since the players came from the same city as the club so why should the fans? You choose your allegiance at age 4 and a half and you never waver.

4.) 05 Jul 2018 14:58:39
Football, as a sport, elicits emotion and emotional responses. Therefore who you support is/ should be based on an emotional response and not a geographical context. I support Liverpool due to the emotional impact watching the 1986 FA cup final with my older brother had on me. He already supported Liverpool as a 5 year old I wanted to join in with his celebration.
For me who you support is based on that childhood memory and emotion, geography be damned.

5.) 05 Jul 2018 15:57:07
I’m with you on that Lazarou, as a 9 year old watching the 1971 cup final against Arsenal ‘dam you Charlie george’ I was smitten from that moment. Lucky for me it was the beginning of our glory years, so growing up at that age in that era of our club, I was spoilt rotten. Needless to say I’ve been a red ever since, always have always will.

6.) 06 Jul 2018 11:31:31
Red_1971 i remember that sunny day in 71, yes damn charlie george, sitting sobbing cos the reds had lost. I was, and am a red from that day till my last day.

Come forth the Quintero rumours.

Fowler

1.) 19 Jun 2018 14:19:54
Always pick him in pro evo. ALWAYS. That should be enough.

10 Jan 2018 11:04:35
Does anyone think Yan Dhanda is capable in the Coutinho CM role?

Fowler

1.) 10 Jan 2018 12:10:18
Dhanda doesn't want to stay at LFC and also no one in the academy is ready to play Championship football let alone replace Coutinho. (Woodburn and Arnold are 1st team players now)

2.) 10 Jan 2018 13:03:24
Why doesn’t Dhanda want to stay at Liverpool? Disappointed to hear that, as he seemed to be progressing well.

3.) 10 Jan 2018 13:16:43
What makes you say Dhanda doesn't want to stay?
He's only 19 but could play that role in a couple of years.

Now that Ayoze Perez has shown a bit of form I suppose we'll be looking to pick him up in January? £30 mill seems about right.

I don't think age is an issue because his style of play is not explosive so I think he can continue at his level for at least another 3 or 4 years. If he contributes to winning some trophies this season then the fee will seem very fair indeed.

Hahaha this is such a hard fail that it almost seems intentional. "I can't think whomit was. Be interesting to hear what he has to say"
. about himself.

Also yesterday "So Fekir is back on after the World Cup, didn't someone on here say that a few weeks back? Do we have a reliable source? Hmmm".

So desperate for approval!

I think Lovren will come good when Brendan eventually deems him ready to step back into the first team. Look at the transformation Sakho has made.

He played great. Would like to see him finish a full 90, always seems to get subbed whether we are dominating or not. I'm not sure if he lacks fitness or if it's just rotational play.

I see Fabinho as holding, Hendo/ Nabby box to box and Thiago in the middle linking everything together.

Both errors came from trying to play out the back, something we have done all season and got away with. The amount of times we have almost been caught out with this nonsense is very high and last night we finally paid the price. We play this high risk game of trying to play out elegantly and a lot (not ALL) of the time end up booting it up field anyway. So frustrating to watch.
