I just want to offer my support to one of our own Micheal Robinson who has revealed he has metastatic cancer for which there is no cure. Older football fans will remember he played for Liverpool 52 times scoring 13 goals in the 18 months he was at Anfield in the early 80's. Some of you may now know him as a successful football pundit on Spanish TV. Good luck in your battle Micheal. YNWA.

Terrible news. 'I'm determined I'm going to beat it' what an attitude to have. YNWA Micheal Robinson!

Post of the day Ed.

Thoughts and prayers with you Micheal.
God Bless
YNWA.

4.) 18 Dec 2018 01:55:11
hope he gets well.

5.) 18 Dec 2018 14:21:39
Good luck to him and to all others who are battling cancer. I am battling a certain cancer myself, but one thing I can say is I'm no warrior. There are times that I feel so down and lose hope, I just felt like giving up. The wife and kids give me lots of strength. The good lads that I've met, as well as in here, somehow give the added strength and reasons that life is so much more than just this. It'll be a loss for me to give them up.

6.) 18 Dec 2018 14:22:21
Hope the doctors can manage it and he can carry on. I remember him playing for us get well soon Robbo.

I don’t think many people can say this but one of my initial and most vivid childhood memories was ‘The King’ expertly beating the FC Brugge offside trap and dinking in the winner at Wembley in 1978. I never knew it then but that man and that club would go on and have such a profound and fundamental effect on my existence.

How can 11 football players in red shorts running around on a field with a Liverbird on their chest enforce me to dump beautiful women, get into bloody altercations with strangers and habitually miss birthdays/ weddings of my nearest and dearest? I’ve broken hearts, been bashed up, racially abused all in the name of Liverpool Football Club. I wouldn’t change a thing because this is the true meaning of life. There’s nothing philosophical about this statement, the meaning of life is Liverpool FC. Plato and Socrates said everything has an essence and my essentialism is Liverpool FC.

One thing I know for sure is when life has kicked me in the gonads and family and friends stopped taking my calls my salvation has always been Liverpool Football Club.

You’re reading this and probably laughing at the incoherent ramblings of a middle aged man whose is watching today’s game on his own in a desolate pub in Dallas. I wish I was in Kyiv, I wish I was in the Arkles, I wish I was watching the game with my Liverpool supporting Kenyan friends in a remote village in the Masai Mara as I did when we beat Barcelona in 2007. Lions and snakes all around me but Craig Bellamy’s golf club kept the predators at bay. My temporary pathos is laughable, I could be in Syria or Sudan homeless, hungry and ravaged by the horrors of war. This proves my point when you don’t have anything there is Liverpool FC.

Some one astute and highly intelligent once coined the phrase that ‘football is the opiate of the masses’ but Liverpool Football Club is the needle. Jurgen Norbert Klopp give me my fix.

I should be getting some last minute wedding stuff done but one question keeps reverberating around and around in my head. Which out of the following players would I want to us to sign tommorow? Lemar? Pulusic? Fekir or Allison? Its a super tough choice but my heart says Fekir, he's got that wow factor Couts had and I feel we need to replace Couts with someone Cout-seque. Who would you guys and girls choose from the aforementioned list and why?

Ed333

1.) 25 Jan 2018 07:06:19
I'm least familiar with Fekir so I'm going to say Pulisic, I think this guy is going to have a huge career.

2.) 25 Jan 2018 07:08:32
I agree, Fekir. Even Mahrez, someone with some flair and bit of genius in his boots. Mahrez proven in the Prem as well.

3.) 25 Jan 2018 07:20:55
I don't care who comes in. As long as they are quality and fit in. But i think pulusic is the fastest out of the list so i go with him as speed kills!

4.) 25 Jan 2018 07:22:08
Couldn't agree more - he looks insane and it amazes me how no big club has moved for him, looks like and absolute monster of a player.
Power and technique, what more could you ask for.
Best wishes for your big day and hope you have a long, happy life together!

5.) 25 Jan 2018 07:25:32
If only one it would be Alisson. If two then Fekir and Alisson. If three I would include Pulisic.

6.) 25 Jan 2018 07:49:18
in order for me ed it would be
Alisson (i actually think he is better than Oblak. Oblak plays behind a strong defence and hasn't as much to do as Alisson who has really impressed me)

Pulisisc (not sure he goes straight into first eleven but i really rate him and personally i would start him)

Fekir (good set peices creative but we have seen french players struggle this season in the prem coming from ligue 1 ie bakayoko who looked a beast last season)

Lemar (havent watch as much of him as the others and he is good but not at the price being demended like most wingers can float in and out of games)

but if you gave me cart blanche to buy one player it would be Rabiot from psg love the guy and i think now and next season when keita comes he's what we need and will need. Max Meyer would be my next choice.

7.) 25 Jan 2018 07:53:21
Speed isn’t an issue in the team speed couldn’t help us past Swansea we needed a big of magic creativity.

8.) 25 Jan 2018 08:10:15
We should buy Kante.

9.) 25 Jan 2018 08:14:55
Im sorry guys, we can dream all we want but non will be arriving.

10.) 25 Jan 2018 09:01:04
I want to say Pulisic because he's incredible but we have to think about what the team NEEDS, therefore I'd have to choose Allison.

11.) 25 Jan 2018 11:40:43
I would pick Pulisic who is already a star at a young age and who can play anywhere in attack BUT Fekir is a beast of a player as well. Mahrez can stay exactly where he is and there is a reason why NO ONE has moved for him bar Roma since last summer.

12.) 25 Jan 2018 13:01:10
Everything i've seen of Fekir is so flashy and that concerns me slightly. Has anyone actually watched a decent amount of him? Is he able to dig in and do the hard/ dirty work when things are getting rough? Curiosity, I really don't know I hate watching the French League beyond a couple of top-of the table clashes.

Out of that lot I'd take Alisson, I trust our attack to get a goal or two in almost every game as it is. I don't trust our defense not to leak a goal or two.

{Ed001's Note - I like him mate. A lot. My worry is that he has suffered with injuries in the past, I am told. Injuries have a habit of causing more injuries.}

I'm staggered by the VVD transfer. I shouldn't be because football has transcended into this obscure surreal reality. The fees, wages etc are like telephone numbers and yet we still all feed into it and enable the madness. I for one don't think VVD is the best use of 75 million quid and I think there were better CB's out there for the price. But then again I didn't want us to sign The Ox and he's on his way to proving me wrong. I truly hope VVD does the same and if he does I'll gladly eat 3 slices of humble pie. Welcome to Liverpool Football Club Virgil and I hope you go on to become a club legend. YNWA.

Let’s be honest. When there are people homeless and starving in our own country it seems vulgar. But it is what it is. Can’t say that I’m not impressed with the work that the club have put in.

2.) 27 Dec 2017 21:15:43
At the end of the day if LFC said ‘we aren’t signing anybody we’re giving it to charity’ I’m sure everybody would be happy?

3.) 27 Dec 2017 21:49:40
Well, we can sign people for what the market demands unfortunately AND be very socially active in the community in terms of charitable work and caring for the most vulnerable. Both can be done at the same time.

As for VVD, OI am with you Ed333. Id id not want Ox here neither and he is coming good so I will defer to Klopp on this one and he will have my full backing cos if he succeeds in helping us fix the defence (he will not solve all our issues) then that is all I care about in the end.

4.) 27 Dec 2017 21:59:28
Who is better then? I don't see many centre backs world wide with leader qualities, quick and mobile and with a good free kick too
If you want silly prices wait till the world cups over
Stop whining about money, we all know how the market has gone, it ain't pretty but i guarantee if city had signed him for that money and gone on to be a revelation then youd all be complaining we didn't sign him.
Give the boy a chance hey.

5.) 27 Dec 2017 23:19:06
Any club with 2 decent centre backs know that the best they can hope for is to have 2,3,or 4 top Prem clubs after their players.

With the money available in the prem these selling clubs can rebuild their whole team on one sale from a bidding war.
