Quick question, why does klopp insist on sticking with zonal marking at set peices? I can't watch when we concede either a free-kick or corner because it makes me so nervous! Can someone please explain to me the actual positives to zonal marking.

We don't play a complete zonal marking, Donny. Watch the setup and see for yourself. We play a mix of zone and man marking (zone across the 6 yard box with Matip at the center) and zone outside it, as most teams often do cos there is NOT a one size fits all way of defending set pieces. If you play zone all the way and you don't have the players well set up to attack the ball, you will create mismatches all over the shop and concede free headers. If you play man marking, this is where players get blocked off and "picked" hence, allowing free headers too. Again, there is no one size fits all way in this case as both systems have their flaws.

I do agree IR89 and it's a shame that that is how the modern game is. But I also agree that if couts leaves we should really aim to focus on shoring up our defence before looking for a direct replacement. In a perfect world it would be great if he had a change of heart and we sorted the defence too haha but can't see that happening.

I think if couts leaves woodburn should be given a chance instead of bringing in a replacement.
