HI Eds, Looks like a few players are now starting to be moved off the books so hopefully a midfielder with a good work rate and ball retention can be brought in to take Gini's mantle. In terms of attackers, is it more of a central player or someone out wide who can cover the whole of the front 3 the preferred option? I was wondering if the club have shown interest in Cody Gakpo of PSV? He has a similar Xg and Xa to Salah at Roma and much better than what Mane had at Southampton with being younger than the two. Could be a cheaper alternative to Malen if he does go to dortmund, all be it not as central. If you have any info on him it would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

CymruRED

{Ed002's Note - The expectation is that a versative attacker will be sought. The club has shown no interest in Cody Gakpo and interest from elsewhere will likey wait another year.}

1.) 21 Jul 2021 15:18:40
Locateli surprise signing, fabinho style. Would be a smart move, would fit our team great.

2.) 21 Jul 2021 16:58:33
My money would be on doku with shaq and origi moved on. I think keita and minamino will be given another shot as well as aoc.

3.) 21 Jul 2021 19:46:20
J Bowen fits the bill guys.

4.) 21 Jul 2021 19:52:12
Looks like keita has been given a few shots when he play’s. Would love him to prove me wrong this season.

5.) 22 Jul 2021 11:03:28
You’re going to be disappointed again Acered. Keita doesn’t even flatter to deceive.

Hi Ed's, can we have a transfer round up? Few names being bounced around now and i can't lie i'm getting excited;
Malen
Otavio
Baumgartner
Isak
Coman
Neuhaus

Also, any news on outgoings?

CymruRED

{Ed002's Note - I have explained about these players if you search.}

1.) 02 Jul 2021 00:34:11
I'm tagging in Ed002. If it's blow by blow he wants and as long as accuracy is not his thing, I'm the man for the job.

Malen (rw/ cf/ lw/ could possibly do a job as AM if your stuck) Klopp is definitely chasing him but Malen is very very fast.

Otavio (am and possibly other positions. I wouldn't put him in goal. he is quite small) Klopp rang Pórtó and said "I want Otavio" . Porto said "not for sale" . Klopp says "i got a grujic" Porto say "deal by 12 pm or we ll explode the release clause" 12pm passed and nothing. Release clause exploded. Non runner now.

Baumgartner (plays all the ballack positions as he is the next ballack) klopp tapped him up in a restaurant in Vienna. The sat back to back at separate tables so as not to arouse the suspicions of the authorities. A quite brilliant plan. Klopp said "try the beef". Baumgartner said "I prefer fish". Klopp got up and left. No further interest.

Isak (ST) he is faster than Malen. Klopp has no interest in chasing him.

Coman (lw) too expensive. Even Coman thinks Coman is too expensive.

Neuhaus (cm for borussia modg. Madgin. Madgen. Oh forget it. A German team) complete misunderstanding. Klopp was looking for a new house. Not a Neuhaus.

{Ed0666's Note - literally the funniest post for years! If the poundland hamper wasn’t gone it would be winging its way to you! Hilarious posts like this are always appreciated!!

2.) 02 Jul 2021 00:56:48
Davey Sulls, with Klopp looking for a new house you have just started Klopp for the German job rumours!

3.) 02 Jul 2021 01:59:56
Very good Davey fair play.

4.) 02 Jul 2021 04:18:46
Encore Davey
Can we have a weekly roundup?

5.) 02 Jul 2021 06:42:31
We need a weekly dose of this Davey. PLEASE.

6.) 02 Jul 2021 06:43:37
The Baumgartner one had me in stitches.

7.) 02 Jul 2021 07:57:05
top post.

8.) 02 Jul 2021 08:37:45
How about a new feature-l - The Daily Davey?!

9.) 02 Jul 2021 10:12:00
Is Otavio not an X-Men character no.?

10.) 02 Jul 2021 11:12:56
Haha I love it. 🤣🤣
Can we not send Davey a spare set of Ed025’s dentures as a well-deserved consolation or something?

{Ed025's Note - i need them all juicer, i have only got one real tooth left mate..thats why they call me juanita.. :)

Questions for ed002. With Shane Duffy off to celtic. Could that possibly open a door for Liverpool to move for K. Ajer?

CymruRED

{Ed002's Note - Kristoffer Ajer (CB) really wants a move this summer and agents have been offering him around. Milan see Ajer as a cheaper option to their primary target but funds may not stretch as they look to sell players and buy lower priced alternatives or include players in the deal. With other options falling by the wayside, Ajar is of interest to Leicester. Top of the list for Atletico Madrid - but only if they lose a CB - which they are trying to avoid. Previous interest of Spurs, Newcastle and Ajax has moved on. He does offer an option for Liverpool but I am not aware of any approach just yet - Celtic will be looking for £20M plus - but the door is indeed ajar for Ajer.

1.) 03 Sep 2020 13:29:24
Sorry if maybe my question is out of topic ..................

{Ed002's Note - Wrong page to be asking such things.}

2.) 03 Sep 2020 14:39:31
Thanks for your reply Ed, the pun didn't go a miss. ha.

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

3.) 03 Sep 2020 17:25:43
Ed002, aren't Celtic interested in Awoniyi? Perhaps a swap deal could work, obviously with Liverpool also paying Celtic a fee on top.

{Ed002's Note - For a player Liverpool have no declared interest in. Liverpool need cash so selling Awoniyi is a great as he has no meaningful future at Liverpool. The loan to Mainz has not worked out well – but a Celtic enquiry a couple of months ago saw a large fee being requested.}

4.) 03 Sep 2020 17:54:25
Nice pun, lovely stuff, not my words Ed. The words of Alan Gordon Partridge.

5.) 04 Sep 2020 14:52:38
Ed002 you've repeatedly say that his loan to Mainz didn't work out well, but after the Bundesliga restart in May/ June it did go well. He scored off the bench and then got into the starting 11 for four games in a row only to be knocked unconscious and miss the last 3 with concussion. But it seems he was popular there as his teammates dedicated their win over Dortmund in his honour. Hope he finds a good club, Celtic wasn't the right move for him anyway.

{Ed002's Note - Getting in to the team for four games in a row is hardly a success. He completed 90 minutes only twice and was not in the squad, a substitute or substituted the remainder of the season playing a total of less than five and a half hours football in the Bundesliga last season. All a bit of disaster I am afraid.}

24 Aug 2020 18:32:32
Evenings Ed’s, a question within a question within a question if you wouldn’t mind sharing your opinion. If Liverpool can’t finalise a deal for Thiago and the we keep the midfield as is, would you expect the attention to turn to cover on the left and ST? If so, have Liverpool any interest in Marcus Thuram of Monchengladbach? Is he within the clubs budget? And speaking of Budget, what is the budget for players at the moment? you hear about clubs having ‘£50, 60m to spend in the summer’ realistically, what’s your estimates on Liverpool’s?

CymruRED

{Ed002's Note - It is difficult to see how the midfield can remain the same if Thiago is added. The club has been clear that space need to be made and money raised. Thuram is not a player Liverpool have been considering and I cannot imagine would be open to siting on the bench. Liverpool need to sell to buy - although perhaps a little more can be found - perhaps they should be fearful of changing a winning solution too much.}

1.) 24 Aug 2020 20:24:59
I think a summer window of Tsimikas, Thiago and a versatile forward like Rashica would represent a very good window for LFC. With the fixture congestion next season, we need 15-16 first team players rather than just 11 to rotate without the levels dropping off too much. The above 3 are big improvements on the players they will be replacing and too without breaking the bank (provided we get decent money for Grujic, Wilson, Shaq, Origi, Karius etc.

2.) 24 Aug 2020 22:02:07
ed002 do you know when Mbappe and Sancho will be signing I thought they was both nailed on.

{Ed002's Note - A Chelsea reject and a Chelsea supporter.}

3.) 24 Aug 2020 23:40:59
I for one would be quite happy with buzzers signings and outings I think it would strengthen the squad and hopefully not break the budget. To be honest I would be happy with just Thiago and Taimikas and give Brewster a chance in the cup completions and against lower table oppositions.

I would love players like Havertz and Werner and In a perfect world a first team CB but the team we currently have destroyed the league this year and it’s not exactly an old squad so I’m sure we will be fine in our steady boat while most other clubs are having to rebuild.

{Ed0666's Note - I would also like others would prefer Thiago, a CB and a decent striker/wide forward and I’d be very very happy with that. Sales and the COVID economy will decree of course

4.) 25 Aug 2020 07:15:42
If Thiago is signed, it would provide the option for Fabinho to play Centre Back, which may be needed with Lovren leaving and Matip’s injury proneness.

5.) 25 Aug 2020 08:02:34
Mbappe a Chelsea reject eh? That's one you wouldn't want to brag about 🙈🙈.

6.) 25 Aug 2020 08:54:29
While I do like rashica I'd prefer a pacy player who can beat a man. Doku/ Stefanovic would be my picks. I been watching sarr recently as we get linked a lot. He is right footed and I personally think he would do extremely well in our system on the lw. I speak purely talent and style wise. From a price and afcon perspective I think others such as mentioned would be better choices.

7.) 25 Aug 2020 18:41:01
Why put Fabinho at CB just to accommodate Thiago. Not a good shout that, look at Fernandinho / city . Not for me mate, would rather do without Thiago if that was the case.

8.) 25 Aug 2020 19:47:56
Messi is on the way. Wants to play for Klopp.

17 Aug 2020 18:58:47
Hi Ed’s, are Liverpool in for Ben White? What a season he just had. The presence he brings at such a young age on the pitch. Seen Brighton value him at around £40mil? Surely that’s inflated? Would be a good option to push Gomez and meet the HG quota.

CymruRED

{Ed002's Note - Ben White (CB) potentially the pick of the younger home grown CBs - if Diego Carlos were to arrive or a CB were not to leave, he can also be scratched. Has a significant advantage over Carlos as he is home grown - and Liverpool has a HG problem. Might well become the preferred choice over Carlos as a Lovren replacement - but it would push Joe Gomez down the pecking order. Manchester City have a growing interest in Ben White. Brighton don't want to sell which takes Leeds out of the equation and Liverpool don't have the money right now.}

1.) 17 Aug 2020 20:07:24
Ed's do you think FSG may be forced to sell due to these financial issues, at least when JK leaves?

{Ed002's Note - FSG are investors so when the growth at Liverpool flattens out it would then make sense to take their money out and find another investment.}

2.) 17 Aug 2020 21:05:21
Which at the moment would not include football clubs as successful as Liverpool.

3.) 17 Aug 2020 21:06:20
Why would anyone buy Dembele?

4.) 17 Aug 2020 21:26:14
I appreciate the reply Ed002, interesting that you think White would push Gomez down the pecking order. Do you think he’s the better pick? Possible not as rash and commands his space better than gomez. But I feel his athleticism adds a different dimension to JG game.

{Ed002's Note - Klopp wants a first pick CB but funds are an issue.}

5.) 17 Aug 2020 21:56:59
I’ve explained this earlier - Klopp wants a first level pick not to replace Joe but to rotate and to give us proper cover if VVD gets injured. Any comments insinuating otherwise is someone on here pulling your leg to get a rise.

Hi Ed's. I've seen Malen is now likely to join Dortmund and Leicester are close to bringing in Daka. Any other numbers 9's Liverpool are looking at if these two move elsewhere?

CymruRED

{Ed002's Note - Malen has been of interest to Dortmund and their preferred Sancho replacement - but nothing is agreed. Liverpool did nothing in respect of Daka. Others who have been considered are Ricky-Jade Jones and Matthew Hoppe.}

1.) 24 Jun 2021 13:53:52
Mbappe's coming, I tell you ;-)

2.) 24 Jun 2021 14:41:04
I have this horrible feeling that we’re not going to bring in another forward. Or if we do it will be someone like Sarr or Traore, which would be like setting fire to £40m. Thankfully it won’t be Dembele as he’s injured again.

3.) 24 Jun 2021 15:02:47
Surely Matt Hope and R-JJ are more for the academy/ reserves no? Surprised they're the names being looked at to push bobby, or will that be Jota with someone covering for Mane?

4.) 24 Jun 2021 17:13:16
I can’t see that Hoppe would get a work permit? Ricky Jade Jones is a prospect and not much more than that.

5.) 24 Jun 2021 18:26:15
We need an out n out Center forward. Goal scoring number 9. Last season shows that the famous front three are wilting, slowing down. Salah isn’t, the other two are blowing. Jota is a breath of fresh air to cover the Wide positions, and we need That through the middle also!

21 Jun 2021 14:23:04
Hi Eds, i've seen today we'll be willing to let Neco Williams leave for 10m. Surely having a RB to fill in for Trent is more valuable than the 10m. or are we planning on using Gomez or Konate as a RB cover? Cheers Eds.

CymruRED

{Ed002's Note - A good point - I am not sure if someone else is coming though or whether one of the first team squad will provide cover.}

1.) 21 Jun 2021 14:52:25
Its being reported that Gomez and Connor Bradley will be used as cover.

2.) 21 Jun 2021 15:24:28
Trent is out most creative player. Our whole system is pretty much get it to the full backs and let them create. Gomez and Konate would be useless out there. Neco gets sold another RB has to come in as cover.

3.) 21 Jun 2021 17:44:55
Heard this too and was surprised hearing 10M. Not sure is it Euros or Sterling but I would have thought £6M would have been more realistic. If someone bids £9M or £10M even then I'd imagine it's hard to turn down.

Awkward to buy a backup when Trent is so good, don't know would they just rely on all the players who can play RB to cover instead (Milner, Gomez, Konate, Fabinho. maybe another youngster)

{Ed025's Note - it cant be stirling sean...raheem is not worth that much mate.. :)

4.) 21 Jun 2021 18:19:25
Gomez is a great cb but he’s useless at rb.

5.) 21 Jun 2021 18:57:38
David, I do believe we will be slightly changing systems next year. If Gomez plays at rb the front 4 can all play for example.

6.) 21 Jun 2021 16:31:29
be hard pushed to bring someone in with the same creative ability. Plenty of good RB's about but it's the forward play we need to cover with TAA. Call me bias being welsh, but I actually like Neco's forward play, maybe not the best crosser but that will come. I do also like Pedro Porro if we were to sell. Great forward play and likes to get the ball into the box. Ed's, is Pedo Porro of any interest this summer?

{Ed002's Note - No, Porro is of no interest. Scratching around at randon Manchester City players won't help.}

7.) 21 Jun 2021 20:14:49
Or just get another right back. Trent has played all but 2 PL games last 2 seasons. He needs resting and rotating, remember how awful he was around for like 2/ 3 months last season and we couldn't drop him. Our squad depth is horrible.

8.) 22 Jun 2021 00:18:08
@Ed025 Raheem GBP whoops another typo 😁

@DavidK, Neco was fit for some of that and wasn't used. Then when Trent was injured he wasn't fully trusted but he is young and will improve. I think Trent is too good for a better backup right back to be willing to join us, unless they are versatile enough to cover more than just right back.

29 Jan 2021 17:26:29
Hi Ed’s, how far off is Sepp VDB from being an option at the back? Also, not sure if I’m watching a different player to a lot of reds, but Nat Phillips other than the odd misplayed ball looks solid. His pace will come as he gets up to ‘speed’ with the premier league and competes against opp forwards. Just my imo.

CymruRED

{Ed001's Note - he was about 220 miles off last night, but sometimes he is quite close, depends on where the game is being played really.}

1.) 29 Jan 2021 18:11:15
Ed001s done you there mate 😂. Personally I'd class nat as a no nonsense defender, no frills but gets it done. He also did well to play the whole second half on a yellow, although he was helped by spurs not attacking him more.
Yes he won't play out from the back but he's our 4th choice cb, he isn't going to be perfect.
Keep him in there and see how he gets on, I prefer him to Williams who is still raw.

2.) 29 Jan 2021 18:19:56
He wasn't even our 4th choice CB, he got there by default but he has reasonable experience at a certain level, which is far better than Williams has. That makes him a shoe in for me.

3.) 29 Jan 2021 19:45:42
Ed001 🤣🤣👏.

4.) 29 Jan 2021 18:54:56
IR, the thing is if Phillips had played at Old Trafford and got torn to bits (which he would have) we’d all be singing a different tune?
He didn’t have much to do last night and West Ham will have Antonio back I presume.
Hobson’s Choice.

5.) 29 Jan 2021 19:52:33
Nats done ok needs to face the man citys to see if he’s got enough in his locker.

6.) 29 Jan 2021 20:33:51
I don't its about if he got enough in his locker. Nobody is remotely suggesting that he is the answer, just that he is a better fit than Williams, nothing else.

7.) 29 Jan 2021 19:36:25
I'd be inclined to take a chance of Van Den Berg ahead of the two of them to be honest. Think people are going a bit over the top about Phillips, im not expecting miracles but i get nervous every time the ball goes near him.

{Ed002's Note - It seems Klopp does not agree.}

8.) 29 Jan 2021 21:33:29
Every time I’ve seen van den berg play he’s been miles off.

9.) 29 Jan 2021 21:40:26
Isn’t he likely to go out on loan this jan?

10.) 29 Jan 2021 21:52:08
Williams is so slow, if he played like Sami then fine, but with our high line you need pace.

I think williams will become a great reader of the game, but for me, at this point, a no nonsense approach (especially and maybe someone who can head at set prices in the opposite box) may be valuable.

I'm edging towards Phillips.

11.) 29 Jan 2021 22:30:32
In fairness that would have been mostly when he first came in last year Peg, he was 17.It was 18 months ago and to be honest even then he looked as capable as the other two. probably a bit scrawny compared to Phillips but im sure he's filled out a bit since then.

14 Aug 2020 16:48:17
Hi Eds,

Marcel Sabitzer, A player I’ve admired over the last few seasons, I was curious to if Klopp ever had scouts at Leipzig watching him? I know at the moment our transfer kitty isn’t brilliant, but he’s right food, very direct, absolute engine on the pitch, and Seems like he would be a great signing if we were looking To strengthen the midfield, even cover on the Left cutting in. Do you know anything about his transfer activity?

CymruRED

{Ed002's Note - Scouts have attended multiple RBL games. Liverpool have not shown any interest in him. I would not expect him to move this summer but he is on the list of Milan.}

1.) 14 Aug 2020 17:19:54
OP, I love Sabitzer. He has really improved at RBL from season to season. I remember him in a midfield with Emil Forsberg (wonder where he is now) and a certain Naby Keita a few years back and that midfield was fire, man. Interesting to see where he goes in the near future.

Is Liverpool looking to sell or are they happy with a loan? has he ever made an impact at any of the clubs he's been loaned to? I always forget about BW.

Dembele isn't mature enough in my opinion, I can see him upsetting/ annoying a lot of the more experienced players. Ed's should one of them leave, is Pedro Neto still be looked at? He was doing the rounds this time last season, is he still highly thought of at the club?

CymruRED

{Ed002's Note - The only Wolves player Liverpool has shown an interest in is Traore - although other clubs have been looking at Neto.}

Not a great deal, mostly on La Liga Revista where he's highly regarded and often spoken of someone who's ready for a big move, Sociedad play Osasuna on Saturday, if you want to have a look at him. I came across him on FM first and it's a similar story to what you said you saw on sofifa, all-rounder, very consistent, box-to-box. Has played for Newcastle also a few years back when he was a kid, might be a bit of a jump but you could say he has PL experience. His stats on Transfermarket also look like a glass slipper for Liverpool.

Ed066, have you got any inside knowledge on Mikel Merino?

CymruRED

{Ed0666's Note - no mate no info on Moreno sorry.
