Liverpool close to agreeing transfer terms with RB Leipzig star Timo Werner

LIVERPOOL are on the verge of agreeing personal terms with RB Leipzig star Timo Werner in a £43million transfer, according to Ian McGarry.

Wonder if you could shed some light on this Ed.

Cheers Bled4theREd.

Bled4theRed

{Ed002's Note - Interesting then that Leipzig have agreed a sale with Liverpool whilst still negotiating a fee with another side - so you really don't want to hear from me on this matter. So I suggest you ask Ian McGarry, whoever he is, to provide more details.}

1.) 19 Apr 2019 11:46:28
I'd rather hear from you Ed. Your information is MUCH more reliable and believable.

2.) 19 Apr 2019 12:39:00
He’ll be off to Munich. Odds on.

3.) 19 Apr 2019 12:54:01
They are negotiating with Bayern who have gone in low apparantly (€30mill) Leipzig obviously want much more.

4.) 19 Apr 2019 15:02:46
He used to be a journalist for the S*n! Need I say more!

5.) 19 Apr 2019 16:32:06
I do think werner will sign for Munich however, if its down to playing time as to why he has turned us down (not sure we were even truly in for him tbf) but hasn't lewondowski signed a contract extension with munich which would surely make werner second choice. I'm not sure with his playing style and attributes that he is what we need. Werner is rapid but plays on the shoulder and likes to play as striker. Most teams drop deep against us so wouldn't get chance to play on the last defender. Not unless we changed our tactics to accommodate him. I think we need somebody with a bit more guile. I think brandt will be looked at as he can play up top across the front three and also drop deeper. I think werner is one dimensional albeit a quality player but not sure what klopp is looking for.

6.) 19 Apr 2019 20:36:57
Doesn't he have a problem with loud noises if I'm correct but the last place he needs to go to is a field where the place is buzzing.

{Ed002's Note - Yes. He has to wear ear plugs.}

7.) 19 Apr 2019 22:33:39
Maybe he’ll get an offer from the library in Munich?

8.) 20 Apr 2019 01:16:01
If he's got a problem with loud noise he should go to City surely.

9.) 20 Apr 2019 01:29:41
Weak league at the moment kids albeit an appealing one on footballing principles, hence why I don't see him staying in Germany.

I can see him potentially joining, regardless of him being a potential replacement for the "front three".

Who have the "front three" got in competition? Origi?

Wouldn't worry me as a forward.

10.) 20 Apr 2019 01:32:24
Sikabiy, he's a journalist for a reason, just like us plebs the amateur journalists.

Different generation now mate albeit he's working for the tabloid viz of the 21st century.

Let's cut some a little slack.

{Ed001's Note - and what's that reason? Because he has the right qualifications from college, not because he has the right contacts or because he understands the game. He worked for a rag that makes stuff up on a daily basis, so he is tainted by association as a liar.}

24 Mar 2019 13:13:30
So Liverpool are looking at possibly cutting there losses with Naby Keita with Bayern Munich and Dortmund interested in taking him and possibly losing a 10 million loss.

Is this true Ed as every time Klopp talks about Naby he talks highly of him.

Bled4theRed

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any discussions regarding a transfer or money between clubs, and he is another example of where people really don't understand what he cost the club. However, he is represented by an agency that could well be making enquiries to see what interest there is. Bayern Munich seems unlikely as they are looking to a specific senior CM player to arrive in 2020. Dortmund have been looking at two younger CM players but they are looking to add one.}

1.) 24 Mar 2019 19:48:09
I don't believe that bled. obviously no inside information, but it makes absolutely no sense at all. I read the same report and rolled my eyes.

2.) 24 Mar 2019 22:17:23
seriously. read this site and everything will be clear as to what is going on. there are a few surprises, like Fabinho last year, but for the most part, you can figure out what's really going on by reading this site, sifting through the crap and reading what the eds say. I rember telling someone at church about a week before it happened that Rodgers would be fired and Klopp hired just by reading this site. It's amazing what you can learn here.

3.) 24 Mar 2019 21:40:55
Our very own Ed2 has said there are potential personality issues.

4.) 25 Mar 2019 09:58:44
I think it’s pretty obvious Klopp isn’t fully sold on him but he’s a young guy who’s come over to a new league and country and has had injury problems. I would like him to be given another season to prove himself.

5.) 25 Mar 2019 16:15:01
This exact scenario happened with Fabinho, and now look at him? He was reported unsettled and potentially off to PSG who held prior interest.

It’s paper talk. Let’s give him and the Liverpool management team time to get him on the right track. He will be some player, so I hope it’s with us.

6.) 27 Mar 2019 06:04:33
Dear ed002
Thanks for your info. Just want to clarify things, are you suggesting that that selling keita at 10m less means actually cost liverpool much more than 10m?
Once again, your knowledge is very much appreciated.

{Ed002's Note - What I am saying is unrelated to any randomly guessed £10M. The cost of buying Keita was way more significant that the supporters realise.}

The Liverpool manager would be willing to let the Egyptian go if it lands him the Lille star

Jurgen Klopp would be willing to sacrifice Mohamed Salah if it meant landing Lille forward Nicolas Pepe, according to le10sport.

Pepe has been subject of a transfer offer from Liverpool, but has yet to convince Lille, who also have two other offers for the forward.

However, Klopp wants the player and due to an increasingly complicated relationship with Salah, would be willing to see the Egyptian sold if it allows the Reds to land Pepe.

HEARD IT ALL NOW.

Bled4theRed

1.) 14 Jun 2019 16:08:56
Ed do you know if it is true that klopp and Salah have had a disagreement about something and also is it still unlikely Salah will leave this summer.
I just can't see why he would want to leave a club that looks like it could dominate for years to come.

{Ed002's Note - Done to death.}

2.) 14 Jun 2019 16:48:28
Why would Salah want to leave? There's a million possible reasons. Players are people too. They can have motivations other than just winning things. Maybe he wants better weather? Maybe he doesn't like his neighbourhood. Maybe he wants to raise his kids outside of the UK. Maybe he just wants to move.

3.) 14 Jun 2019 17:07:12
Spot on Alvy. At the end of the day he said he wanted to come back to show the premier league the real mo Salah and by god has he. Now he wants to do the same in la Liga. I think we will hold onto him for one more season. Let's hope we can get number 19 and number 7. I love salah as a player but at the end of the day whether he stays or goes Liverpool and the fans will always remain and we will move on together.

4.) 14 Jun 2019 19:12:51
why would 'x' player want to leave (question laced with a fan's perspective hahaha)

5.) 14 Jun 2019 22:27:34
Even if the Egyptian leaves it's no big deal doing my head in his manager always edging for a move if you want to leave mo get us some spending money pack your bags thanks for your service wish you the same level of success pipco found in Spain. We will sign a great replacement who will stay at the club and not use us as a stepping stone to spain.

6.) 14 Jun 2019 22:41:14
If he wants to go then good luck to him. Our team is now strong enough to not have to rely on one player for a change. Mane, VVD, Alisson, Fabino, Robertson, Trent had as good a season than Salah for me. He’s not irreplaceable. No one is thanks to Klopp.

7.) 14 Jun 2019 23:43:54
End of the day we're European Champions on the top of our game, and Bar Manchester City, the rest of the European giants and big 6 are rebuilding. I said it at the start of the season and will say it again, Liverpool are in the very top bracket now. Mo Salah knows this I couldn't care less what the rumours are.

8.) 15 Jun 2019 01:05:07
on a side note, if Real Madrid do sign Salah this summer it would bring them close to a half a billion euros in media quoted transfer fees. (being very careful with word-choice so as not to rile the eds lol)

{Ed033's Note - how very dare you :)

9.) 15 Jun 2019 02:27:31
Salah is a core member of our squad. We should do everything possible to keep him, but at the end of the day we must accept most players won't retire with a Liverpool kit on. I think he has to be one of the most expensive players in the world right now, so I could certainly see Liverpool cashing in and replacing with Fekir, Pepe, Bruno and the like.

10.) 15 Jun 2019 00:13:21
ed001 why do people think that Mo is easy to replace 22 league goals and 8 Assists this season. How much space did he create for his team mates because teams where doubling up on him.
I would love Pepe join are club but not to replace Mo at least not this year. ed001 when was the last player in are teams to hit that many goals 2 season on the trot. And he was not at his best because of the injury at the start of the season.
All I can say REDS fans be care full what you wish for.

{Ed001's Note - Mo's got a little too big for his boots mate. He needs to return to planet Earth or it is time to get rid before he starts to become a problem on more than just penalty kicks.}

11.) 15 Jun 2019 05:24:06
fowler, owen, torres, suarez, sturridge, salah. tough not impossible.

12.) 15 Jun 2019 05:24:34
I said it a while ago, his interview post spurs game at Anfield was one of the most awkward things I’ve seen, his sole concern seemed to be home bring given that goal, it never sat right with me.

13.) 15 Jun 2019 05:58:41
Exactly hopeful it's a danger to the family atmosphere klopp has created only takes one diva to ruin it and if we bend over backwards for salah what does it say to the rest of the squad

Grino was salah only able to do what he did because the other 10 men on the pitch were doing thier job right not him carrying them.

14.) 15 Jun 2019 09:15:51
Faithinworks owen never scored 20+ league goals in a season once torres scored 20+ once. and to bring Sturridge in to in the all the time he was there he only played 20 league games twice in 6/ 12 years.
people on here seem to think MO is easy to replace but don't won't to lose Origi because he scored a few late goals last season.

15.) 15 Jun 2019 09:30:22
To me salah has grown out of his humble modesty as he has hit stardom over the last 2 years, very noticeable change in him. I can't see him leaving this summer but he will move on at some point, for a large fee and we will replace him. Until he starts making it clear he wants out, I won't be worrying.

16.) 15 Jun 2019 10:15:11
I very clearly said TOUGH NOT IMPOSSIBLE.

17.) 15 Jun 2019 10:19:10
also, imo we kinda can't have it both ways. Like we want to attract the world's best players and / or hold on to our own world class stars. So that double-edged sword of it is that we may have to manage the personality / ego that many of these guys come with.

18.) 15 Jun 2019 10:31:25
With hindsight, perhaps the writing was on the wall from the beginning. Mo always said he came back to the PL with something to prove. Now he can quite confidently say he’s done that and that’s gone to his head a bit. A bit of greed in a forward is a good thing but Mo took it a bit too far last season particularly towards the end which is maybe understandable, considering his underwhelming start to the season, as he may have just been trying to make amends. It probably also stood out more as greed this season, as last season, everything he touched hit the back of the net so it becomes irrelevant if there was a better option than shooting but I still think he was happier to lay it on a plate for mane or bobby last season than this. Anyway, I think we’ll get at least one more season out of him and who knows after that. As we all know he will go to Madrid if they come knocking but I haven’t heard ed002 say they want him. I believe they currently have higher priority targets for his position and he may never get his chance but if he does he will command a high enough fee to bring in a capable replacement so can we all stop worrying and talk about something else?! 😁.

03 Jun 2019 10:57:55
Here is one for the people on here.

who would you rather lose Salah or Mane

Only reason i ask this is because seen on sky sports Salah has said in the paper he can not talk about his future and that has sparked speculation in to him wanting to leave.

Bled4theRed

1.) 03 Jun 2019 11:07:09
Neither are going to be leaving the European champions. I don't answer hypothetical questions.

I would rather keep mane.

2.) 03 Jun 2019 11:12:29
I know Salah has flirted with other teams but he would be mad to go this summer, we are arguably the top team in Europe right now and not just because of the champs league win, Madrid, Barcelona etc need to rebuild and it will take time, he can win it all with us next year.

3.) 03 Jun 2019 11:17:16
Never say never. If Salah still wants to leave now then he can pee off. I can't see any reason other than financial reasons.

4.) 03 Jun 2019 11:42:39
Go where? Madrid? They are signing hazard. Barca? Wont happen. Juve? He left seria A to come to the prem. Bayern? what's the point.

Man city? No effing way.

{Ed002's Note - This has been done to death - he wants a move to Madrid but his financial demands and the request for a particular "clause" in his contract had them laughed out of town. Meetings between his agent and Juventus, Barcelona and PSG have also taken place. It is nothing to do with Hazard.}

5.) 03 Jun 2019 11:42:56
Cant see anybody having the money to buy him this summer there is only 3 clubs that could afford him PSG Real Madrid and Barcelona and the last 2 are under a rebuilding stage so can't see them spending what we would want for him. If we got £142m for Coutinho am sure he is worth a bit more than that. And with all the FFP hanging over PSG can't see them unless they are going to sell one of there big 2. And I don't know why anybody would won't to leave us to play in the French league. After the season we have just had I would of thought players would want to join us or city as the battle between are 2 teams have taken the premier league to a new level.

6.) 03 Jun 2019 12:01:16
Wow ed02. I don't understand why he would want to?

In your opinion is it about money mate?

{Ed002's Note - No, it is not going to be about money - but as I have said I don't expect him to leave this summer.}

7.) 03 Jun 2019 12:03:07
Ed2, have we been well behaved enough for you to tell us the ‘clause’ he wants?

{Ed002's Note - I don't want to get in to that.}

8.) 03 Jun 2019 12:43:01
No worries Ed2, thanks for the reply. Hope you’re well?

{Ed002's Note - I am thanks.}

9.) 03 Jun 2019 14:11:16
Mane is more versatile for me. I would keep him. He's just as capable of scoring 43 goals per season, if the stars are aligned right, as they were for Mo.

10.) 03 Jun 2019 16:21:05
Mane more important to the team and more difficult to replace than Salah for me. Not by much mind.

11.) 03 Jun 2019 16:52:57
Mane has been so impressive this season - for me, he stays.

12.) 03 Jun 2019 16:53:32
I know Salah has flirted with other teams but he would be mad to go this summer, we are arguably the top team in Europe right now
=======================
The thing is 1985mikey1985, Salah feels, the club is at this position because of him (we'll find out with time) and he wants to be part of the new look Madrid and make them as you say the top team in Europe.

13.) 03 Jun 2019 16:08:03
Thanks ed002 for the repeated reply on Salah situation.
1 thing would like to hear more from you if it is appropriate, if the thought about moving to Madrid is not about money, why doesn't Salah lower his financial demand and maybe probably removing the clause request?

Thank you for your time.

{Ed002's Note - His agent has already been back and said they will lower the financial demands and this is because they fear that Madrid will be moving for Mbappe and his chance will be gone for good.}

14.) 03 Jun 2019 18:13:29
Salah over Mane for me. It's a hard choice though, I just think he's the better player overall, as much as I love Mane he isn't as good as Salah for me. Either way this is a daft discussion, none are going anywhere anytime soon, they love it at Liverpool no matter what anybody says.

15.) 03 Jun 2019 19:14:29
Sadioooooo
Mane

Running down the wing
Mane

Hear the kopites sing
Mane

We’ve been drinking in Madrid!

Love his latest song.

16.) 04 Jun 2019 00:40:50
thanks ed002 for the update!

20 May 2019 10:50:03
Just a quick one Ed002

Is the Echo a reliable with the information they have on potential targets and if the Club decide to tell them that they are not chasing a certain player.

Bled4theRed

{Ed002's Note - I have absolutely no idea what the Echo says about transfers I am afraid.}

1.) 20 May 2019 10:59:02
They have reported this morning that we are not chasing De Ligt so was just seeing how accurate they are.

{Ed002's Note - I see.}

2.) 20 May 2019 11:20:00
My experience with the Echo is they don’t no anything. Absolute zip and often write about stories made up from elsewhere like most papers. I don’t read any papers and not on on social media. Only use this site and I’m on here multiple times a day checking for any info from the Ed’s. infact I’m probably on here to much and some times ask to many questions lol. No wonder the Ed’s get peed off lol.

3.) 20 May 2019 19:25:34
Not sure we were ever an option for De Ligt, IMO. I just took it a papertalk.

4.) 21 May 2019 01:10:24
They often use other country tabloids as source and then do a little write up with dramatic headlines.

James Pearce who writes for them is reliable though if you just focus on his info and ignore the other dross that they recycle from garbage sources.

02 May 2019 10:48:27
I know it is Barcelona but we are Liverpool Football Club

And European Night at Anfield are next level Sh*t so let's get Anfield rocking and do what we do best and have unbelievable comebacks.

So heads up reds and let's get the boys through to the Final

YNWA.

Bled4theRed

1.) 02 May 2019 10:58:12
If they (Messi, Suarez and Coutinho) score 1, we need 5.
Not impossible, but I can’t see it happening. Barcelona are seasoned winners, they can handle pressure, I can’t see them shipping 5 goals.
Bear in mind hey have already won La Liga, we’re still scrapping in the premier league.

2.) 02 May 2019 10:58:20
Klopp gifted them the Trophy playing Gini upfront. But I agree, its all over. But Anfield will give them absolute hell and they'll have to go to war vs the atmosphere for it.

3.) 02 May 2019 12:19:18
If we created that many chances away we should at least get a few more at home on a loud night at anfield. Surely a few of them have to go in.

Taa will most certainly have to start for more attacking threat. Hopefully bobby will be fully fit.

Its not impossible for liverpool to score 3 against any team at home in the first half alone. Been done before.

No away goal is a killer but if liverpool can get two in the first half an hour its game on.

Barcelona were scared of liverpool at times last night. If we can score a couple early it might rock them.

Never over till its over.

4.) 02 May 2019 13:04:24
Exactly, an early goal and all of a sudden the tie looks very different.

I know its not fair play and i know klopp doesn't think this way and i know this will be unpopular, but i would have been tempted to bring on lovren and have him end messi's season.

He was the difference last night. If he wasnt in the team i think we would have won the tie comfortably. But we have to throw 3/ 4 bodies around him when he gets the ball and that creates space out wide.

I was surprised how poor coutinio was, he looked bang average last night. I see him joining an english or italian club next season. He is not playing at his best at barca. We had the privilege to watch him develop into perhaps one of the top 3 attacking mids in the world, and now he is being taken off for players i've never heard of.

08 Apr 2019 16:58:57
eds is there any particular reason why the Nabil Fekir stories starting up again is it just click bait or do we still hold and interest and could look at striking a deal at the right price.

Thanks.

Bled4theRed

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what stories are cropping up. You will have to tell me what they say.}

1.) 09 Apr 2019 08:39:25
it's the same story you've eluded to Edd, Liverpool tried to "restructure" the payment based on the player's knee operation. They speak about Fekir having 1 year on the contract and that the club will be looking to sell at the end of the season. I guess the OP is asking if we'll revisit since we were interested previously.

{Ed002's Note - Lyon are potentially about to enter a period of change. Fekir is certainly available this summer, that has been made clear.

It has come from L'Equipe who my understanding is pretty reliable when it comes to news from France.

If he does sign i do find it hard to see where he will fit in the system tho.

80m euros for a bench player can not see us spending that unless someone is leaving or we change the system completely.
