So John Henry has apologised. Good job from his PR team.

Genuinely ashamed of LFC again, well done to all the fans and players who have spoken out against this. It feels like it’s over for now, but only a matter of time until another land grab proposal is cooked up by the greedy owners.

The thing is John it's always us. We must be hated by most other clubs. From illegal approaches, low fews for young players offered to plain right obnoxious aholes.

Pressed send too soon. Meant to say I don’t blame Klopp I just think that’s how he’s made.

Incredible post MK. I hope there’s more to it than a loss of hunger, but fear you’re accurate.

I think Klopp himself has looked down since lockdown and wonder if him personally not being to feed off a crowd is in turn making him less passionate around the players.

I have every faith we'll turn it around sooner or later. Thiago is finally in the team, Jota and Tsimikas will both be match fit soon, Kabak and Davies are a huge boost. The squad just needs a boost and when new players come in it lifts everyone. Just having those 5 guys on the training pitch every day will help. They've won nothing with Liverpool yet so they have everything to prove and that will will raise everyones game.

Hopefully we can put this all behind us and kick on to win the Champions League.

2.) 06 Feb 2021 14:38:59
Great post MK and OliRed below. Kabak and Davies are a massive boost, along with Phillips. Having all these defensive options will allow Hendo and Fab to play in midfield, which in turn will allow Thiago to truly flourish. Also Mane is back in training and Jota is not that far away so hopefully better times are on the horizon.

{Ed0666's Note - I’d say we are one of the favorites for the CL with Kabak and Davies joining.

I know what I felt like when VVD got injured, physically sick and that feeling has only become exacerbated with each successive injury blow.
I think Klopp and the players probably feel something similar.
To say they’ve lost their hunger just doesn’t add up and frankly is just insulting to this team.
Some changes will be made and that is a natural cycle for any team. I don’t think they need to be that drastic personally.
All team environments have leaders and we’ve certainly lost some of ours to injury.
The past year has been utterly unique in many ways and it would be wrong to fail to take that into account also.
But this team is too good to fade away and with another 2 or 3 quality additions will be ready to rock n roll again.
Very poor post IMO from MKS.

4.) 06 Feb 2021 15:07:51
Ed666, you know what. I can’t dismiss your claim at all, despite our current form. We tend to fair quite well in two legged affairs and with everyone coming back you just never know. Top 4 and a Champions League trophy, I would call that a successful season given the injuries. Reset in the summer get the whole squad back, shift a few players on and get a few in and we go again.

{Ed0666's Note - depending on how the new CB’s fit in Id fancy our chances for jug ears.

5.) 06 Feb 2021 15:42:39
Really Ed0666?

{Ed0666's Note - Why not Barry?

6.) 06 Feb 2021 17:27:33
You're entitled to your opinion Juicer. I'd argue it's no more insulting than your insinuation that the players couldn't handle Van Dijk getting injured though. You pretty much just called us a one man team whether you meant to or not.

We've all got our thoughts on why it went wrong. If we weren't all passionate Liverpool fans though, we wouldn't care enough to even debate it would we.

7.) 06 Feb 2021 17:30:02
Alonso/ Ed0666, i'm very excited to see a midfield of Fabinho, Henderson and Thiago get a run of games. I think the defence will be far more protected.

{Ed0666's Note - that midfield makes me drool. Stick bassouma in the mix and that’s a title winning midfield my friend.

8.) 06 Feb 2021 17:30:12
Juicer aftercare derby and as much as I don’t want the Bitters to win even a throw in against us, I would have gladly taken the L in the derby if it meant that VVD would be available for the rest of the season.

9.) 06 Feb 2021 17:36:00
Hmmm. I'm going to hate myself for putting this up and it is purely for conversation sake, not that I necessarily want to believe it but if you look at Klopp's history at Dortmund, he took a few years to get the team he wanted, had success for a few years. After those few years he couldn't repeat it. He had Dortmund challenging but I don't think he won anything of any relevance after those few seasons.
Off course there are mitigating circumstances at the minute, ie injuries and players playing out of position etc, so it shall be interesting to see what happens next season when we get back to full strength.

{Ed001's Note - you mean after Bayern came in and bought all of Dortmund's best players and took apart his team he stopped winning? Wow what a shock.}

10.) 06 Feb 2021 18:00:15
The loss of VVD was always the nightmare scenario wasn’t it, but what’s happened after that has just been one blow after another.
We were top at Xmas but it’s like every week there’s another problem and we can’t seem to catch a break.
We’ve tried to address the gaping gap at centre back and let’s see how we go from here.

11.) 06 Feb 2021 17:45:47
Yeah feck it Ed0666 why not mate.

{Ed0666's Note - that’s the spirit bazza 🤪👍

Been a fan for 40 years.

We’ve had far worse runs the whole of the 1990’s were a lot worse than this! We’re only 6/ 7 points behind the leaders and play them both again.

What’s that old saying form is temporary but class is permanent.

Do I expect to win the league this year - honestly not, but I’m not ruling it out.

This is a bad trot undoubtedly, but it will end.

Let’s trust Klopp to get his and the players mojo back - smash Utd in the cup and move on.

That's the most sensible post that I have read on here in a very long time. A excellent post sir👍.

2.) 22 Jan 2021 00:50:55
I will keep on supporting and cheering for Liverpool for many years to come, just like how I did for many years before. Liverpool losing games? I am used to it during many years before. I was spoilt by the club with their unbeaten runs for last couple of years. Can I endure another run of bad performances and some bad results? I am sure I can. I've felt the greatest feeling whe seeing the club lifting trophies, and that was such a great feeling. They will lift some and a few more trophies. Maybe soon, or maybe in a few more years. But I don't mind really. This is a football club that I will carry on loving and supporting.

3.) 22 Jan 2021 01:32:33
Excellent post sir! I think the biggest reason we are in slump is no fans!

4.) 22 Jan 2021 02:02:28
BigJohn is spot on. The team has lost form. They will find it again. On to Sunday and the cup!

Great post Big John.

6.) 22 Jan 2021 07:17:49
The players look shot. The pressure is weighing heavy on the Mentality Monsters. Sourness, who won back-to-back league championships nailed it "That's what makes you a special team. It's hard enough to win it. But to retain it and stay there, year in and year out, that's what makes you a special team and right now this Liverpool team are not up for that challenge. "
This is not a quick fix. Also Klopp has made some weird decisions. Nat Phillips gets man of the match, next game dropped. Thai gets MoM next game doesn’t even make the bench. How is that keeping players honest and motivation to perform up?
Big challenges ahead and the players need to rise up but do they have the energy?

7.) 22 Jan 2021 08:45:20
Sourness never played in a team that lost both first choice cbs and the only other senior one left can't string 3 games together, knock on effect is losing out 2 most influential mids to defense, its effecting our whole game, coupled with 5/ 6 players being totally out of form. It will come back but we'll probably be way off the pace for the title and in a dog fight for top 4. A ab is needed and money needs to be found for one, missing out on CL football will be way more costly.

I share the concerns outlined above, however perhaps there is a chink of light. FSG and Henry will always put business first. To maximise the ongoing value of their “asset”, they have to ensure the club remains close to the most lucrative revenue streams. I think they will spend just enough to ensure that happens - as is the case along the M62. It may be the lower reaches of the Top 4 and an occasional cup rather than something else.

Whatever unfolds I expect us to be a more aggressive developer and reseller of young talent and at the forefront of whatever new scheme is being cooked up.

Personally I’d rather they left but can’t see how that could happen in a way I would find acceptable - they’re pretty despicable but I’d rather have money grabbing Yanks over those with a much lower set of moral values.

I can’t see FSG going without a profit. I fear the only takers have may bring with them a whole load of different morality challenges for us to chew over. That’s unless any of you guys is a Bitcoin billionaire?

Cobra666 so are my company. Who is to say whether it’s needed I don’t know. Point is that if a businesses doesn’t have to do it they are playing the system and ultimately taking food off the table of the poorest in society in the long run.

Make no mistake there will be big tax increase and cuts to social security down the line. I suspect LFC don’t need to do this now and if that’s the case then they will contribute to someone starving in the future. End of. Yes others are doing that but we’re supposed to be bigger than that.

Have tweeted John W Henry to let him know my feelings. Not abusive just voicing my disappointment. Perhaps if enough others do he might intervene to reverse this morally reprehensible decision.

This whole thing leaves a really bad taste in my mouth. I hoped that the season ticket fiasco would have taught the leadership team a lesson but clearly hasn’t.

Serious own goal, the worst part is that they are trying to justify it by saying they will cover other 20%.

A little bit of my love for the club just died.
