I hope the club buys someone really really exciting to watch next season. We're losing a local lad with great ability on the ball and we've aging worldclass players. I really hope we sign someonelse to be really excited by. You take salah out of that team and who gets you off the edge of your seat? Who also gets you the goals and assists? I really hope we buy someone worldclass in the forward line.
1.) 20 Apr 2025 22:58:36
I hope we buy some players that make our football look exciting because it’s been boring for months now.
2.) 20 Apr 2025 23:14:58
just regarding Salah, it's not as tho if he isn't on the field we are then playing with 10 players.
Also Mo has you sitting on your seat for 99% of the game until he pops up for a goal or an assist.
I'm not having this conversation when we're one win from winning the league tbh the team will evolve, but can we just enjoy the moment!?

Great great discussion that carragher opened up with on sky. If trent hasn't committed to the club, which he hasn't you have to start conor bradley to prepare for next season. To see if this lad is our future right back or spend serious money to compete with him for the right back position. The league is won. Bradley should be starting.
1.) 20 Apr 2025 19:45:35
Batman I agree 100% and this is no bitterness towards Trent.
2.) 20 Apr 2025 20:09:35
And what if Trent doesn't leave? JC is just doing his job as a professional contrarian to generate traffic . He's best ignored.
3.) 20 Apr 2025 20:27:09
Did I imagine the part where Bradley went off and Trent came on and won us the game?
4.) 20 Apr 2025 20:34:34
Trent has earnt his place at RB whilst we reel in number 20. He has been at the club 20 years .
5.) 20 Apr 2025 20:54:02
Trent’s gone mate.
6.) 20 Apr 2025 21:49:18
We're not doing the "20 years of service" thing again, are we? I don't remember a 6-year old Trent's contribution in Istanbul.
7.) 20 Apr 2025 22:40:39
Exactly, Wrongaloid. Carra is a contrarian and talks a lot of rubbish depending on where the wind is blowing cos he knows he will never be pulled up on it should he been wrong, which happens very frequently.
8.) 20 Apr 2025 23:17:34
once the league is tied up then yes.
an asteroid could hit and end earth before next season starts. until it's finished, then no, you start the best available players to win now.
15 Apr 2025 14:46:36
Our top target should be isak. Now Newcastle could price everyone out of the market as they could also seal champions league football but he should be no 1. A worldclass no 9 improves any top team instantly. We'd be favourites for the PL again next season if we got isak. You can sign a quaulty left back, midfielder and pacy attacker but it's nowhere near the difference that isak would make. If we can offer 110 million for caicedo we can certainly offer around that or slightly more for isak. We should not need to sell firstly this window to see if we can afford isak.
1.) 15 Apr 2025 15:50:53
The team does lack a world class number 9. But there’s just no way we sign Isak.
We won’t spend that kind of money. He ain’t going to be for sale. And Hughes wouldn’t be able to get him anyway.
2.) 15 Apr 2025 15:57:21
We tend not to shop at that end of the Market, and anyway, as Ed has pointed out, Isak's fitness is being managed as he is not as robust as any FSG signing should be.
Yes we should have bought him over Nunez at the time, as recommended by the data team only now he's 3 times the price. Id rather have a Cunha and 2 others for the same price.
3.) 15 Apr 2025 16:08:29
It's all part of Hughes' master plan mate, he'll be signed soon.
4.) 15 Apr 2025 16:45:09
Isak is a pipe dream.
5.) 15 Apr 2025 17:51:37
Why would he leave Newcastle? They are much richer than us and with a couple of new signings will be as strong if not stronger than us next season. They’ve also got the monkey off their back winning the league cup. Only place he’s going is to Madrid or Barcelona if they want him.
6.) 15 Apr 2025 17:59:18
We need several players all over the team and you batman7 want us to spend our budget on one player do you think that the club would even think of your suggestion? YNWA.
7.) 15 Apr 2025 17:19:46
"We won't spend that kind of money"
"Hughes won't be able to get him anyway"
How do people repeatedly come up with such original content.
I saw an article regarding several ex England footballers, and how awful they were. Every single comment from Facebook users were sticking up for those players. Yet social media is constantly put down on here. Yet all I see, is abuse and a few different comments regurgitated slightly to try to make the user look somewhat relevant.
Ed001, I love reading your articles, I find them well thought out, interesting and even educational at times, leading me into several rabbit holes after reading them. For that, I thank you. The same with a few other posters. Sadly, most are now offering my uneducated abuse, and it's boring.
{Ed001's Note - thank you very much.}
8.) 16 Apr 2025 12:11:21
Our club won’t spend the money.
His club won’t sell him
Hughes won’t get him.
Assuming the first two statements are true (which I would actually dispute) the logical conclusion is that nobody on earth would get him.
Best just to write ‘Hughes is useless’ every time you post.

With salah and virg looking like he's signing another contract, i scratch my head at trent. This club is a massive club and for a lad to grow up locally and also be a supporter, i can't grasp how you'd CHOSE to leave at this age.
I don't care about "madrids the biggest" crap. Clubs can aways grow commercially and extend their fanbase. There's a few massive footballs clubs in the world and liverpools one of them. There's also a warmth and sense of community here you'll never get at mardrid. It's a well oiled machine over there and their fans have even booed Ronaldo. I know trent has a big crush on jude but he's leaving his childhood sweetheart for a new bird. It's some risk because if it doesn't work out, he's lost something truly great which he can never get back. That'd something trent will only understand when he's left. He could have became a legend for us like Gerrard.
1.) 13 Apr 2025 18:46:02
On the flip side, if it does work out he could win multiple titles and trophies whilst getting paid handsomely in a great country with a overly climate.
Some people just want a different challenge in life. I've done it myself, left my family and home etc and lived abroad in multiple countries and absolutely loved it.
2.) 13 Apr 2025 18:51:08
It might just be that he's achieved everything at Liverpool and wants a change of scenery and a different challenge.
3.) 13 Apr 2025 19:10:41
Nothing has been announced yet, relax, if he stays great, if he goes he does so as a champion who wore the shirt with 100% pride and commitment, and it has been a pleasure to watch . 2 wins to play for, let's just enjoy it.
4.) 13 Apr 2025 19:20:34
I don't scratch my head at Trent. He's worked hard for the club and won everything there is to win with Liverpool.
If he leaves, he's doing what HE thinks is best for him. Objectively, I don't think anyone can blame him for that.
He's a young professional who is going to make the move that he thinks is best for his future. I hope that whatever decision he makes, he stands by it and makes the most of it. He seems like a good guy and I wish him well if he leaves.
5.) 13 Apr 2025 19:22:16
Trent is giving sterling vibes right now. He comes out and says he dreams of captaining the club and yet at the FIRST opportunity to move elsewhere he seems to be riding the Madrid schlong. It's snakey behaviour and he has definitely tainted his legacy if he moves. Forget all the its madrid and dream move nonsense. As a local he should do better!
6.) 13 Apr 2025 20:29:40
Won everything?! Scholes won 11 Premier leagues. You want to win MORE as a professional footballer. This here "he's won it all" nonsense. He's won 7 trophies. Top players don't think I've won every trophy thus whatever. You aim to win MORE trophies.
On Madrid, la liga is nothing compared to the Premier league. Barcelona are no inesta, Messi era. Atletico are a good side not a great one. It's a poor man's league with two clubs realistically fighting for trophies. Barcelona are sinking with debt. Who's to say Bellingham will be there in 2,3 seasons? Nevermind expecting trent to somehow be this superstar in a team full of them looking to exit the championships league and won't win la liga.
7.) 13 Apr 2025 21:01:10
Fans don't see life beyond Liverpool FC.
Players do. They have to.
It's a different mindset.
8.) 13 Apr 2025 21:25:10
Batman7.i agree . yet some of these posters on here will wave him off into the sunset like he's been doing US a massive favour by playing for us . I'd call it virtual signalling but to me he's a judas. played us good n proper. he be at Chelsea or somewhere like that in a year or two.
9.) 14 Apr 2025 06:10:30
Its all about the $$$$$$.
13 Apr 2025 17:24:43
That was another abysmal performance as a whole. We look burned out since March which is bizarre. Could be a lack of squad rotation but say we were still in the champions league and fa Cup, we'd be begging for the league to end now.
Slot has to use the squad a lot more next season. There's a few things I think slots getting away with this season. He won't next season.
On robertson, I definitely would keep him and let him compete with a quality signing. I haven't wrote him off. I've watched virg 2 seasons ago look like he was finished. Soemtimes top players have a tough season coming into their thirties. I'd hope to keep robertson next season and manage his game time but I would definitely sign a lb with the intent you're signing the next young Andy robertson.
On elliot, I'd urge the lad to look for another club. Slot doesn't fancy him and I wouldn't waste another year at his age being a bit part player. I'd hope elliot would put his career ahead of his love for this club.
Our first 11 could be improved with 3 or 4 signings. We need a CB, LB, RB to compete with bradley but bradley should be the future. We also could do with a midfielder and 2 attackers. Jota is abysmal and we also lack blistering pace in the forward line.
1.) 13 Apr 2025 17:36:10
We won. 6 more points. Let’s enjoy the moment.
2.) 13 Apr 2025 17:46:00
First half was perfectly fine. 2nd half was worrying but at this point of the season. We just need to win games. I feel we'll see improvements in our performances overall with us only playing once a week.
2 more wins is are all that matters. The sooner the better. Our next 2 are very winnable!
3.) 13 Apr 2025 17:50:21
abysmal post! that is all.
4.) 13 Apr 2025 17:55:54
Lads we're incredibly lucky arsenal and city have fallen off a cliff. The performance was extremely poor and we've had a good few performances like that now. Virg had also been very poor but that's been over looked by many. I'll be DELIGHTED to see us win no 20.
5.) 13 Apr 2025 18:11:53
Bradley was good today, probably the pick of the back four. Tzimikas played his best game for a while as well.
Diaz and Mo had a very good first half, so it wasn’t all bad, and Ali had a great game.
We’re just lacking in midfield in terms of our ability to control a game, I’m not convinced our rotation options would help that much, whenever Endo or Jones start they don’t convince, both are better off the bench for the last 10 or 15 mins.
We obviously lack a striker, but I’m sure that’ll be sorted in the summer. I’d let Chiesa, Jota and Nunez go and get Cunha and one more to add to Diaz, Mo, and Gakpo.
6.) 13 Apr 2025 18:14:52
I’m not sure when people started to think that EVERY single match in a season was some kind of exhibition style spectacle. Trust me, it wasn’t. Many many league titles were won on the back of doing just enough to win. It’s only since City got ridiculous backing that we started to think that getting 95+ points every year was the norm.
7.) 13 Apr 2025 18:15:53
Perhaps the lads were tired from playing Fulham 7 days ago.
8.) 13 Apr 2025 18:26:28
Abysmal and we still won . Champions elect closing on the title
What a feat this will be for slot (1st season)
This should of been Arsenals year and they choked
City are in the midst of rebuild
We should have struggled and at times it’s not been easy and great to watch but Arsenal our title rivals haven’t been closer that 5 points to us since October .
This has been a great season and should not be underestimated.
9.) 13 Apr 2025 18:37:24
With potential to still shoot 90+ points for the season I reckon it's incredible what Slot has done this season. We are slowing down a little since March but the majority of the team have been ever present this season
When United were dominating they very rarely (if ever? ) amassed that amount of pints when they won league after league. It wasn't a sh1t league back then tho, no?
Ignore some of the media-chat and rival fans jealousy. We have had to beat 19 other teams to this position at the top and it's fully deserved. I enjoyed VVD's celebrations today and am looking forward to celebrating number 20!
10.) 13 Apr 2025 19:44:53
I thought the game changed when we subbed Tzimikas off for Robo and again when Bradley came off Quansah. Thank god Ali was in goal today.
19 Apr 2025 16:34:11
Edd001 that's great info, thanks for that. On Bellingham, it might not be a fairytale story there for the lad. I think his games far more suited to the Premier league. He's also becoming more unlikeable to non Madrid fans.
Also on the brand topic, those tariffs have opened up a lot more eyes on those corporations, where they actually make their products and the insane profit margins.
{Ed001's Note - very welcome. Madrid, like Barca, are a thoroughly detestable club imo.}
19 Apr 2025 15:53:44
Edd001 you described that perfectly. Soulless club. Journalist on sky got heat for saying basically the same relating to trent leaving and what Liverpool was compared to mardrid. Same for klopp.
But money talks.
{Ed001's Note - trophies are what talks as well, and being the face of a brand, like Bellingham was sold to join Madrid. Adidas wanted him at Madrid to launch his own clothing range, if Bellingham had joined us, that wouldn't have happened as we were with Nike.}
14 Apr 2025 17:04:50
Edd001 atleast quansahs contract was prioritised ?.
08 Apr 2025 22:13:01
Ed014 delighted for yous tonight beating them lot.
{Ed014's Note - me too, the cheating dirty scum!
31 Mar 2025 13:52:09
Edd001 klopp i think with a Dutch interviewer, said it to the journalist that he'll never manage another club. That videos on YouTube. I don't take him for a liar so I think he really meant it. He also said it in a way where he doesn't have it in him to manage a club daily anymore. Think he's at that age where it's not worth it. Maybe he'd take up the German job but def can't see him taking up another managerial role.
20 Apr 2025 21:28:34
I'm talking about a football player and what he did on the pitch. Very distasteful to mention off field stuff. Gerrard is seen by many football fans as a legend to this club. That's not disbuted. You can make up all the if this, if that happened. He played with us in his best years and to 34. He didn't choose to leave us at 26. Make no mistake about the impact of jude Bellingham aswell. Trent never goes to Madrid at this age if Bellingham wasn't at Madrid or if Bellingham had have signed for us.
20 Apr 2025 20:05:34
A legend? There's one 1 legend for me and that's Gerrard because of my age. Obviously Dalglish came before. Legend of the club shouldn't be used lightly. Sorry lads but if Gerrard chose to leave to go to Chelsea or real Madrid at 26 we wouldn't have called him a legend. You can't be a legend of the club whilst choosing to leave at 26 especially if you're not Messi. Trent will be remembered fondly but as a local lad and to leave at his age, no never a legend. Leagues and a champions league don't change that.
20 Apr 2025 19:17:27
He's gone. Look to the future now.
20 Apr 2025 18:54:14
I'm never sad over a player choosing to leave at 26. He's getting a lot of wish him well which is fair on a human level. But he's choosing to compete against Liverpool next season in Europe. For me, when he's gone, he's a forgotten name.
20 Apr 2025 18:52:53
Theres no tricky situation. He's chosen to leave us in his prime to go to Madrid. When he goes, he's gone. That team needs serious investment. Too many dead performances but the quaulty or lack of upfront is really eye opening now. Salahs been poor for several games now for his standard but what have the others offered? Imagine if arsenal were a lot closer. We need two attackers, lb and possibly 2 midfielders. Sobosli does not offer enough either. There's a good few areas we can improve.
