Missed a lot today on this site. Ed001 is going to wonder what happened in the morning lol.

So I don't watch La Liga (inferior league lol) but what's up with Coutinho? He most as good as Barcelona thought he was?

I always said i didn’t think he was right for them. All their other players are far more intelligent with and without the ball. I felt coutinho had become a one trick pony and was never as good as anyone made out. His first instinct is to either dribble or shoot from 30 yards without rhyme or reason. He is nothing like iniesta or xavi and never will be, i’m not entirely sure what kind of player they believed they were buying. He’d have been better off at a team like Bayern who play with more ‘direct’ players.

2.) 12 Jan 2019 22:33:47
"Stay at Liverpool and be a legend, or go to Barcelona and just be another player" - Jurgan Klopp.

3.) 12 Jan 2019 22:35:27
If the reports are true that Neymar wants to return to Barcelona, they should probably look to swap him (with cash) for Neymar. Maybe PSG will bite.

4.) 12 Jan 2019 22:53:09
I don’t know how #WDS would take the news if PipCo was coming back 😉

Love the #WDS chronicles 👏.

5.) 13 Jan 2019 00:11:03
liverpoolfc8, I hope Klopp remembers that when Bayern Munich come after him.

6.) 13 Jan 2019 00:31:04
Not sure he would go as there is no fun in winning with the best team is there?

7.) 13 Jan 2019 01:13:39
Agreed.

8.) 13 Jan 2019 02:52:19
Bayern Munich have tried to get klopp in the past if I'm not mistaken. Or was it the German national team? I don't think he likes them too much after deliberately picking apart his Dortmund squad.

{Ed001's Note - they did try a number of times to get him but he has always steadfastly maintained he could never go there as it would be a betrayal of the Dortmund fans.}

9.) 13 Jan 2019 06:12:05
Yeah it'd be about as bad as going from Liverpool to Utd.

03 Dec 2018 13:49:18
Don't shoot me, but I thought Keita was rubbish for his cameo. Brought on as an attacking mid, and I don't think he ever got into any attacking position. He just looks lost. Hope it clicks for him, and he recovers more from an injury, maybe?

Banjokazooie

1.) 03 Dec 2018 15:14:19
Thought he was the Second coming of Kante when he joined, even seen comparison's to Xavi/ Iniesta, no better than Henderson.

2.) 03 Dec 2018 15:24:34
Give him time lads.

3.) 03 Dec 2018 15:54:54
Fab is just starting to settle in, even his lovely wife is is posting Liverpool stuff on social media,
Keita could take a lot longer to get a regular place in the team, he is taking longer than expected to adjust
hope he does that sooner rather than later .

4.) 03 Dec 2018 16:21:08
To be honest thought Jorginho as a second coming of Xavi/ Iniesta when he joined chelsea but he is not better than henderson.

5.) 03 Dec 2018 16:43:20
I would take Jorginho over Hendo any day of the week,
I have always been a fan of Hendo, but the number of times that he passes back, when a forward pass is on, makes me swear,
time will tell of course, but I think that Hendo has lost a bit of pace thru his injuries, hope not, and he comes back strong .

6.) 03 Dec 2018 17:57:53
I won't both to be honest!

7.) 03 Dec 2018 22:45:35
Hope he does come good. Thinking he has an issue with confidence. Still quite young too.

I've read some headlines that the UK Government would oppose a Super League.
Do you have any insight in this statement?

Also food for thought, let's say it's full steam ahead and this new league happens, say a team from England, if they were to move to this 'super league' would they have to change anything like their name perhaps?

This seems somewhat similar to how American football teams uproot and change cities, they change their name.

Banjokazooie

1.) 04 Nov 2018 15:38:07
They would still be based in the same place, so why would they need to change name?
Rebranding the clubs would make the new league completely pointless, since it is to be built upon the brands of those clubs.

2.) 05 Nov 2018 14:31:07
To be honest I don't know. I was thinking maybe there is some sort of image rights so to speak. Not really sure how it works.

I'm sure the premier league draws a lot of money from the names of the team in its league. I believe hull had to get approval from them to change their name as well.

When certain things happen on the pitch and a player gets sent off. The club can appeal this decision, Im assuming replays come into the decision making process so wouldn't VAR just completely streamline this whole process?

Question came from the Ronaldo incident.

Banjokazooie

1.) 20 Sep 2018 18:58:51
I think we saw the issues with var at the wc - long, too much fuss, and still decisions are wrong. Refs have their ego to deal with, can they overturn their calls.
I the ref should be our the questions and the call should be made by the guy in the VAR room. Quickly, and without stopping play too long - why should the red need to look.

2.) 20 Sep 2018 21:27:07
Agree Firmane. The ref can also be influenced by the players at the time. I can't stand how players are all over a ref. Pre VAR, I've never seen a ref change his mind, but they'd have a go anyway. Now, they'll amp it up even more.
In the rugby league in Aus, they have "The Bunker", a studio sometimes not even in the same state, where 3 or 4 officials quickly review an incident from several angles and make a decision. Works well. The players are wasting their time hassling a ref, as the decision is not made by him.

3.) 20 Sep 2018 22:40:25
lol burkey - it doesn't stop the league boys from hassling the ref anyway.

4.) 20 Sep 2018 22:45:34
Each team only gets to call VAR 3 times in a match. Bit like tennis I guess. That could work maybe?

5.) 20 Sep 2018 22:49:53
3 rooms, 3 officials, same replays at the same time, they vote, decision is made, no arguments. It doesn’t have to be difficult.

{Ed002's Note - And maybe show girls on the pitch whilst they are deciding? Perhaps some animal acts? The Police Synchronised Motorcycle Team? Patty Page signing “How Much is That Doggy in the Window”.}

6.) 20 Sep 2018 23:00:22
Yeah Phil, but it's nothing compared to the footy players. Refs sometimes have to push through a crowd to get to a player and show a card, it's gone way too far.

7.) 21 Sep 2018 13:39:08
Yes because my system will take longer than the current one? You don’t need 75 crap replays. We could all see in the World Cup what they were watching and were able to make decisions using only 2 or 3 views - faster than them most of the time. In a vote system there is no surrounding the ref, no unnecessary back and forth and no further delays. 3 or 4 instant replays on set cameras using standardised viewpoints and angles with an instant minus however many second replay when a button is pushed. If you can’t make a decision after a couple of views then it’s not clear or obvious enough, hence the vote. They can be watching while play continues, if necessary and then relay the decision via the ref’s goal line technology watch.

The point is it doesn’t have to be a show or a farce. It will always be subjective, but don’t put extra pressure on one person at vital moments such as the Portugal/ Iran match or the World Cup Final. That would have been in the ref’s mind for the rest of the game. Not useful.

8.) 21 Sep 2018 20:06:11
In other sports it works very well and doesn't take up too much time. In rugby the clock is stopped so no playing time is lost, in cricket it's usually extremely accurate and of course hawkeye in tennis is very clear. In all those cases a video referee makes the decision although in cricket if there is any doubt the umpire's opinion can decide. It will eventually be an important part of the game and will do away with stupid decisions like the one at Anfield last season when neither the referee or the linesman couls say that a foul had been committed and the referee said " I don't know but I am going to award a penalty anyway"!

Can you imagine spending 60 odd million on a goalkeeper and he flaps at a cross, or let's in a howler.

That's going to be an expensive player to hurl abuse at.

Banjokazooie

1.) 18 Jul 2018 00:48:50
My reservations are that if we go back to the 2 in midfield (fekir10) we will get overrun and the keeper will be subjected to being our last line of defence, he could be superman and not be able to keep the back door shut. I have a feeling that Klopp has told the owners who he needs to push for a league title and they are going to back him but if things go pear shaped he willl answer for it. This will be the beat squad we have ever had but results will need to go our way.

2.) 18 Jul 2018 01:16:04
let's hope we are buying 60mil dollars worth of hard pill pumping through his veins.!

3.) 18 Jul 2018 07:26:36
If that happens on a consistent basis then he probably will get the criticism that it deserves.
If he makes more match winning saves than howlers, he will get the praise he deserves 🤝.

Perfect summarization robbo.

Banjokazooie

{Ed001's Note - I disagree, I think all this stuff should be more public. What is showing is what a bunch of selfish turds you lot are, in that your only concern is whether it affected the result or if it increases his sale value. We should all be asking how we can ensure another player does not risk his long term health by playing on with this kind of problem. We should be asking why Ramos was able to get away with what was yet another act of violence which could have damaged another player's career. And we should be asking why it was not picked up at the time and Karius either subbed or given more time to recover, whichever was best for the player's long term health. Instead you lot are being utter selfish dicks and not considering anything other than a game. I am disgusted by the pathetic and selfish attitude you all are showing over this. About time some of you went and took the time to learn more about concussion and the damage it can do in the long term.}

Don't forget all the agent fees and taxes, as well as many other fees on top of all these (sign on bonus, registrations etc) transfers. That ain't no pocket change.

The club have released the dates for the parades if any where to happen. At least that's what me ma said. I'm sure the official site will have this information. I think she read it in the echo.

Its a bit of funny/ banter mate.

I almost got the police called on me for Tuesday's game as I kept yelling and screaming at the top of my lungs for every goal. My neighbour thought it was a domestic dispute.

I don't have any stories to tell but do have questions.

Is none of this stuff mandated? Like the ball boy, or the watering of pitches? I heard Colin kept the pitch dry to try and stifle us. All these tactics seem petty and unsportsman like. I understand lower divisions might have money issues but surely the premier league can have standards?
