Little break from the transfer saga; as many of you have seen there is a fantasy football league set up. My question, should I go with Salah or Mane. Both cost a similar amount of money.

Essentially who do we all think will score/ assist more in the coming weeks? I've preliminarily gone for Salah.

I had the same dilemma so I put both in 😊.

2.) 08 Aug 2017 13:20:22
Same here nutmonkey.

3.) 08 Aug 2017 13:31:17
I am also not ashamed to admit I have both of those and Bobby in my FPL team 👍🏻.

4.) 08 Aug 2017 13:43:36
I've gone Booby and Wini as my others. Feel Wini will step up this year.

5.) 08 Aug 2017 19:28:48
Booby and Wini - was that a Freudian slip? 😂.

Bit of a weird question Eds (or reds) . There is a thread on the others page dealing with employment law and it's relation to football.
But I was wondering what the 'transfer fee' for a player was actually for, I. e. Is it more like a purchase fee like a house? Or is it consideration for the selling club to do something like terminate the contract or give consent for the move. Or is it something completely different that is completely football/ sport specific?

Understand if you don't want or have time to get into this but thought I'd ask the question.

Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - It is for the transfer of the player's registration fr4om one club to another.}

Hi Eds, judging by all the rumours we seem dangerously close to signing Salah. Can you please confirm that we have a series of things lined up ready to cock up this transfer as is tradition?

RTFP!

Tough crowd Angry. Irony and sarcasm doesn't do well on this forum!

With all this talk of alternative wing options do we have our first 'smokescreen' of the transfer window?!

Maybe it is all one giant smokescreen whilst we go for our main wing target which is tempting Kuyt out of retirement.

Angryandillinformed

1.) 07 Jun 2017 15:36:41
That and a cheeky bid, no doubt.

2.) 07 Jun 2017 15:54:28
The best way to satisfy the fans would be to use a smokescreen to make a cheeky bid for a marquee signing that shows a real statement of intent.

3.) 07 Jun 2017 16:06:08
I've read between the lines, Angry, and I believe you are ITK and implying that VVD and Salah are actually serving the purpose of protecting our negotiations for CR7 and Varane ;)

I won't tell anyone, I promise!

4.) 07 Jun 2017 16:20:37
And then "unveil" the new signings at a hastily arranged leaked presser 🤡.

5.) 07 Jun 2017 16:46:55
I can see it now already, Kuyts wife has accused Liverpool of tapping her husband up and not seeking permission from her.

6.) 07 Jun 2017 17:14:55
Are you sure it wasn't Dirk who has complained about his wife being tapped up?

A few posters have mentioned (If VVD signs) possibly playing three at the back in the same formation as Chelsea last season. Obviously this is completely hypothetical, but who would you all see occupying the three attacking places if we did adopt this formation for certain games? I would imagine it would be firmino, couts and Mane.

1.) 06 Jun 2017 09:44:11
You mean Klopp will drop Salah to play an extra defender? I don't think so mate. I don't know why people think we will play 3 at the back.

2.) 06 Jun 2017 09:49:43
I actually tend to agree with you on that one tbh but I suppose it could be employed against teams sitting back against to give us some width. Could have Milner on the right and Salah on the left on that situation? But yeah tbh nothing has shown that Klopp has much interest in going three at the back.

3.) 06 Jun 2017 09:53:26
I think having VVD will give us the option to play 3 at the back if Klopp thinks that that is the best thing to do in the circumstances.

The ability to change formation to suit opponents is essential.

4.) 06 Jun 2017 10:19:08
Karius
Clyne matip vvd lovren robertson
Hendo wij
Mane firmino salah/ coutinho.

5.) 06 Jun 2017 11:25:27
It gives us options.

I doubt Salah will play every game.
I doubt we will play the same formation all throughout every game!

6.) 06 Jun 2017 11:26:09
i really want to see coutinho drop into a more central position. but can only really see this working if we adopt a formation that is set up to protect him defensively. he shouldn't be running up and down the pitch like can, gini and lallana do. he needs to be higher up the pitch impacting the game in the attacking third.

7.) 06 Jun 2017 11:18:52
How has that got 3 disklikes.

The only player dropped is lallana. And that's looking more and more likely by the day.

If klopp is buying a cb and a new attacking full bacl in mendy pr robertson then that team above is probably more than likely to show its face throuvhout the season.

Only if he wants to leave. If he is happy to stay I wouldn't sell him. But if he wants to go and any offer over £80m came in I think selling is best for everyone. I really don't get those saying we should force him to stay.

For 80m I am sure we could replace him with someone of near quality and you never know who else might step up next year.

More aggressive tapping out. Klopps hired a plan to fly over Southampton.
