Can anyone confirm that Adrian has signed a contract extension? I though his deal ran out this summer and I’ve not seen anywhere about him renewing?

AH

{Ed002's Note - It runs out next summer.}

1.) 31 Jul 2022 21:49:13
Thankfully we have Kelleher as back up keeper when fit. Adrian is ok but prone to lots of mistakes leading to goals.

2.) 31 Jul 2022 23:12:11
Like Ed01 said, you can't have a world class keeper as your 3rd choice. I think Adrian is ok enough for our 3rd choice keeper.

3.) 31 Jul 2022 23:51:07
Adrian kicking is truly terrible and he makes the defence panic. But he is the 3ed keeper so can’t complain to much.

4.) 01 Aug 2022 00:30:48
Adrian’s kicking is really bad but his general shot stopping is above average and a good option to have as third choice.

5.) 01 Aug 2022 07:52:07
I think he is an awful keeper and with Alisson and Kelleher both having more injuries than most keepers I would rather have one of the kiddies be first choice.
I just hope if are top two keepers have injuries this season it’s not at the same time. If Alisson or Kelleher was in goal Saturday city would not have scored but with Adrian in goal they should have scored at least 3.

6.) 01 Aug 2022 08:47:36
They should have scored 3? What do you mean!? They scored one. Adrian saved some. Or you mean he should of let them in? Come on. Adrian is a perfect for 3rd choice GK and could be the best 3rd choice in the league (opinion based) . As well he is a loved lad (you could even see afte the game with City how he congratulated Nunez and both celebrated together) as well role model and I would be disappointed if we offer something like 1+1 contact.

7.) 01 Aug 2022 09:03:55
Wouldn't be disappointed* if we offer Adrian 1+1.

8.) 01 Aug 2022 09:46:16
Mart city should have scored 3 goals apart from very poor finishing the one near the end when Haaland hit the crossbar when Adrian pushed the shot into the middle of the 6 yard box the goal was his fault and there was another one that I can’t remember of the top of my head where he pushed the ball into the middle of the 6 yard box. And no of them where hard shots to saves.

9.) 01 Aug 2022 10:17:31
Why didn't Virgil or Joel react to all these shots he pushed into the middle of the box? Are they not allowed to react? Are they immune to criticism and being called out for rubbish defending? They both knew it wasn't Allison behind them and both, at this stage, should have the defensive intelligence to follow shots in on the off chance it comes off the keeper.

10.) 01 Aug 2022 10:31:52
Mane is basic goalkeeping to push the ball out wide away fro the goal I thought VVD and Matip handled Haaland well. I’ve got nothing against Adrian am just stating the facts that he is not even good enough to be 3rd choice especially when are first 2 keepers have missed a good few weeks over the last 3 season if they both got injured and missed a chunk of games at the same time Adrian would cost us a league challenge. He cost us the other year vs A Madrid. It’s nothing personal it’s just a fact that he is nowhere near top flight Quality.

11.) 01 Aug 2022 11:22:09
Yet, Adrian played 11 games in our title winning season.

12.) 01 Aug 2022 15:23:58
Adrian got us 30 points from 30 in the opening 10 games of our title winning season.

On Saturday he had two hands on the ball and was fouled. It should have been a free kick.

Too many people think we should have three full teams of international world class players.

The squad loves him, he is an excellent professional and third choice.

Spoilt somewhat.

13.) 01 Aug 2022 15:59:49
Leave it. Him saying that he is not even good enough for a 3rd GK yet looking at other teams second or 3rd gks his name points out as better backup GK, proves that he is just a simple hater.

14.) 01 Aug 2022 20:19:19
I’d rather have Adrian as our 3rd choice (yes, 3rd) keeper as opposed to City having Steffen as their 2nd choice last season.
He’s not going to play much and if he does, he’s got my vote.

15.) 01 Aug 2022 20:59:28
Is this still Liverpool rumours page, or has it changed to some sort of Goalkeeper chat room?

16.) 01 Aug 2022 22:49:29
It makes a change from slagging certain midfielders off!

17.) 02 Aug 2022 04:13:41
I don't understand the hate for Adrian. He's a backup keeper and a decent one. Of course he is not perfect but if he was, he would not have stayed or joined us in the first place. Alisson made mistakes too and some bad ones. If Adrian made those mistakes, he would be bashed badly. So, cut him some slack. He's doing all he can to his ability. To compare him with Ali is not really fair, its just like comparing Neco with Trent. Or would you prefer Mignolet or Karius in goal?

18.) 02 Aug 2022 10:15:34
Yeah. Let's give the midfielders some time off and some peace and quiet, and go after the 3rd choice keeper. He let in a goal, yes. His kicking and parrying of shots was not ideal, yes. But he also stopped all other shots and he did okay in dealing with VVD and Matip, in Haaland's pressing (which was abysmal, by the way) . Klopp and staff know what they're doing. We have no guarantee Davies would have done better. Not yet, anyway.

Hi ed002,

Hope you’re well.

I was wandering, with Liverpool winning the Champions League last season and the Premier League this season, which players we have signed included additional extras in transfer deals for these accolades. If so, Financially does the money being payed out for winning the competitions cover that to those players previous clubs. Thanks AH.

AH

{Ed002's Note - Many and even most players are signed with such caveats and the costs would all be covered by the CL win. The PL win would not cover the payments needing to be made.}

1.) 28 Jun 2020 13:49:58
Thanks for the Reply, Ed.

KLOPP HAS SIGNED A NEW CONTRACT! MERRY CHRITSMAS!

AH

1.) 13 Dec 2019 11:39:44
Hope he gets paid more than 20m a year haha! He is d most important signing we have done in decades!

2.) 13 Dec 2019 12:04:55
What a great day.

3.) 13 Dec 2019 12:05:03
Was never klopps biggest fan but this is good news for the club. Let's hope he can build on lots of hard work.
With a few titles and cups we could end up getting a statue erection of klopp after all.

4.) 13 Dec 2019 12:19:57
Christmas has come early. YNWA.

5.) 13 Dec 2019 12:32:21
Best manager on the planet, has totally transformed the team. This is the best signing we could make. the next few seasons can be filled with trophies now.

6.) 13 Dec 2019 12:34:10
Walter, why have a pop? What do you have against a Klopp? Would you rather we get emery in like you wanted 18 months ago. I’m curious to understand your thinking.?

7.) 13 Dec 2019 13:22:44
I wouldn't waste your breath on Walter. He just loves the attention. I have a 5 year old who does exactly the same thing. Any attention is better than no attention. He too will grow out of it once ignored.

Anyway, that is the best news we could have hoped for. We now have our world class manager until 2024! Bring on the good times!

8.) 13 Dec 2019 13:35:46
Walter, have a day off would you! Klopp is easily the best Liverpool manager of my lifetime! I would be interested to hear why you don’t like him? I’m guessing you haven’t got any valid reasons, you just like to moan!

9.) 13 Dec 2019 13:35:55
personally, i thought he was gone when he contract was up. i thought he was off to manage the german national team.

this is great news indeed! merry christmas, reds!

10.) 13 Dec 2019 14:05:54
Swishcleaner I I think you miss understood my post no pop. As I said hopefully he will get the recognition he would deserve if he wins the title and some cups. id be very happy for him and LFC if he did.
Emery is a decent manager just didn't work out for him at Arsenal which is a shame.

11.) 13 Dec 2019 14:08:58
I'm so happy about this, I've already got a statue erection for Klopp!

12.) 13 Dec 2019 19:46:09
What a GREAT Christmas gift!

13.) 13 Dec 2019 23:48:43
Klopp managing Bayern Munich, an established European giant was an easy job. Waking a sleeping giant like Liverpool and relating to the people that embody the club and community is beyond expectation.
Can we possibly dream about this year and maybe until 2024? We are truly honoured and should relish the moment.
OMG I love being a Liverpool supporter. I am 49 and have seen glory and misery but i am one happy happy at the moment
YNWA.

14.) 15 Dec 2019 17:52:49
Rugby Parker, isn’t ‘statue’ superfluous in your statement?! 😉.

Are we getting a match review for the Arsenal game, Ed001? Miss not reading your views. Also any idea when the pod will be back? Cheers mate.

AH

{Ed001's Note - might do for the Arsenal game, hopefully. I am not sure when the pod will be back sorry.}

1.) 02 Feb 2024 15:02:06
And the cu next Thursday podcasts!
?.

2.) 02 Feb 2024 16:23:48
I'll do the Chelsea game review now:

Que music!

Everything is awesome,
Everything is cool when you re part of a team,
Everything is awesome,
When you re living out a dream

Review End.

{Ed025's Note - here,s my view Davey

I did not see it like you Davey
but im a cynical chap
yes Liverpool were decent mate
but that Chelsea are bleedin crap

Review end.. :)

3.) 02 Feb 2024 17:11:10
I think Daveys is better ?.

4.) 02 Feb 2024 16:45:59
What tune does your review bop to Ed? ?.

{Ed025's Note - "an ode to Jurgen" mate.. :)

5.) 02 Feb 2024 18:42:51
Use are good craic ?.

6.) 02 Feb 2024 18:44:48
We made them look worse than they are ed25. Little help from the manc ref. Think he had it in for them cos they held his city to 3-3.

{Ed025's Note - they are a very poor side John, proof...even we beat them mate..

7.) 02 Feb 2024 19:19:01
ED25, I think you should stick to being bitter. This whole "Happy as a cam" stuff does NOT suit you at all. Just calling it as I see it. Wouldn't you agree, Ed25?

{Ed025's Note - im not bitter Oli..just better mate.. :)

8.) 02 Feb 2024 19:20:47
ED25 the reds didn’t give Chelsea a chance to be any good. They’d just won three on the spin so has momentum but we simply smothered them all over the pitch. If Nunez was a better finisher it easily could have been 7 or 8.

{Ed025's Note - it well could have been 1jj, but i say it like i see it mate and they are piss poor im afraid, yes Liverpool played well but they had the freedom of the park because Chelsea put up no resistance at all..

9.) 02 Feb 2024 20:00:17
We were excellent but Chelsea are woeful. The fact they had a defender with bad in his name and another whose name sounds like disaster, what do you expect.

Cheers.

{Ed025's Note - im with you Greggers..

10.) 02 Feb 2024 20:35:43
What do you expect when there’s such a massive gulf in spending power! Not fair really.

11.) 02 Feb 2024 20:50:41
Ed025. What do you think of Chelsea’s “quarter of a billion pound” midfield mate? ?.

{Ed025's Note - i think their recruitment has been awful LFC8, just like United they have brought in a load of individuals who dont seem to grasp the team ethic, they have also over payed for them but they are bound by long lucrative contracts so it wont be easy to get rid if it doesn,t work mate..

12.) 02 Feb 2024 21:31:39
Touche, Ed25.

13.) 03 Feb 2024 09:07:28
It’s not uncommon when one team plays excellent that the other team is woeful, that’s the nature of the game. If both teams played well then it might have been 4-3. or something like that.

14.) 03 Feb 2024 13:51:09
Enjoy time with family mate.

{Ed001's Note - thanks Doc.}

15.) 03 Feb 2024 15:57:53
Ed025 I thought we where class. Chelsea are a mess and with all these long stupid contracts and the price they have paid for must of them players I think in the long term FFP will come back to bite Chelsea very badly. They are ruining out of homegrown players to sell to cover all that money spent and come the summer when they need to balance the books again teams will just wait still the last minute to drive down prices. Out of all the players signed only Palmer value would have gone up the rest look like they would have fallen of a cliff so to get rid of most of them it’s going to be at massive losses.

{Ed025's Note - i think your right Grino, the reds played well without being at their absolute best for me mate, but to be honest Chelsea offered very little and to me look a very poor side..

16.) 03 Feb 2024 16:30:23
Happy for Moises Caicedo, hope he’s enjoying himself ?.

17.) 03 Feb 2024 18:16:41
Ron, Caicedo is living his dream since he was a kid supporting Chelsea as a 4 year old watching Makalele do his thing (or was it Arsenal his dream club with Vieira as his idol? I can't keep up) . Long may it continue.

18.) 03 Feb 2024 22:26:58
Ed25.I posted my poem for you sir
But it wasn't posted.

You would've liked it ??.

{Ed025's Note - it was obviously dodgy then JCL.. :)

19.) 04 Feb 2024 08:09:59
Probably Ed. but that's why it would have been perfect for you to frame and hang on your wall. even in your toilet ?????.

{Ed025's Note - theres no room on my walls JCL, its full of pictures of Emilia Fox, Jo Blythe and Carol Kirkwood mate.. :)

14 Sep 2023 17:15:04
Can we be expecting the pod tonight Ed? ?.

AH

{Ed001's Note - no mate Billy can't make it tonight, so there won't be one sorry.}

1.) 14 Sep 2023 19:10:58
Sad. Hopefully, he can make the next one.

2.) 14 Sep 2023 18:01:55
Ah no worries! Tell you what tho in the last one you said we might be getting a transfer special one extra but not had one since! ?.

{Ed001's Note - there wasn't really anything to get excited about on deadline day to make it worthwhile.}

09 Sep 2023 00:26:52
No podcast this week Ed?

AH

{Ed001's Note - no mate, sorry.}

1.) 09 Sep 2023 01:21:12
Looking forward to the next one.

2.) 09 Sep 2023 08:24:05
Feel really sad.

04 Sep 2023 16:31:41
Now that the transfer window has closed (minus Saudi) just want to say thank you to all the Ed’s during silly season. I’ve been following the site now for over 10 years but rarely post. I spend most of the time scrolling through looking for the red text to read all the proper information and insight you guys put on here. Ed001, I love the SUNT podcast but just thought I’d ask if you could maybe look at the audio for it? I find myself turning the volume up and down through it as yourself is at a lower volume and Billy’s is very loud. I realise it is low budget and is recorded live but thought that I would ask. Anyways thanks for all that you do for the site YNWA.

AH

{Ed001's Note - I will adjust the sound for you. Sorry I didn't realise.}

07 Sep 2020 08:11:47
Good Morning all!

So I'm sure a lot of you on here have read/ heard about swiss ramble. If not he has a really great indepth knowledge of football financials, which I think Ed 002 has eluded to in the past.

Well this morning he has posted a thread on twitter explaining liverpools financial situation, and why they are not spending the mega money like Chelsea.

Its a really good read, and hopefully will save the eds many a headache if you guys read it, instead of asking why we aren't spending.

Anyway, here's the link.

AH

{Ed001's Note - it is usually me that recommends him, he is very good at what he does.}

1.) 07 Sep 2020 09:19:09
I read it this morning, really interesting and in depth. It’s says exactly what Ed002 has been saying for ages. Highly recommended reading.

2.) 07 Sep 2020 09:58:55
Swiss Ramble Twitter

3.) 07 Sep 2020 10:00:40
Just read it thanks. Very good read and the eds should put a link at the top of the page for anyone that asks why we haven’t got money 10 times a day!

4.) 07 Sep 2020 10:04:13
I think most fans will only really understand when this years figures are released and they can compare to last years and see where money has been lost (Champions League for example) .

{Ed002's Note - I have explained where the money has gone.}

5.) 07 Sep 2020 10:16:37
Wow the wages paid are eye watering amounts. When a player gets a new deal it's like a new signing with the increase it brings. Really interesting that thanks for sharing.

6.) 07 Sep 2020 10:20:32
I appreciate that you have Ed002. I'm suggesting that written down on paper comparing to the previous set of accounts might help. No promises tho 😉.

{Ed002's Note - I would doubt most would understand it.}

7.) 07 Sep 2020 11:26:00
Can anyone post link to his twitter account pls?

{Ed001's Note - there is one in the thread.}

8.) 07 Sep 2020 12:31:17
Good read that. And yet very worrying where we’d be without Klopp.

9.) 07 Sep 2020 14:45:09
Fantastic read. I still can't work out how Spurs have made the amount of money they have considering almost zero trophies over the last 40 years, and compared to clubs like Us and United, a relatively low fan base.

10.) 07 Sep 2020 15:05:10
I actually feel better about our financial situation after reading that. It just verified everything Ed002 has been saying for months.

11.) 07 Sep 2020 15:32:05
Fascinating read however the only thing I learned is that you can enjoy reading something without having the faintest clue what is being read!

12.) 07 Sep 2020 19:06:43
Ed02, they won't understand it cos they don't want to understand it.

13.) 08 Sep 2020 13:25:17
Thanks for sharing this thread. From a business point of view we seem to be doing great. The future of the club, financially, is secure. Unfortunately fans have grown used to envying sugar daddy owners around Europe who plunge money into the club at the detriment of long term financial stability. But I'm happy that our club is in good hands and in a healthy position to obtain large investments or loans in the future years should they be required in order to remain competitive.

The great thing is that the FSG model relies on success so we can rest assured the owners will keep doing whatever is necessary to maintain this level of success. And if they do decide to sell, we would be the prime candidates to attract the best interested parties.

I think we are primed to be experiencing a long period of success in the coming decade.

I imagine this is an old recycled story from his Southampton days. However how can you rate/ not rate a player if you've not watched him? Very good player imo and I hope he can recover from his injury nightmare.
