New contract for Chirivella, any sign of one for Rossiter?

I think rossiter will be leaving big emre, a combination of injuries and not progressing as much as the club had hoped, like senior players a few youngster will also be let go at the end of the season. congrats to chirivella on his new deal though, like stewart it's till 2020 so that gives him plenty of time to try and become a 1st team player.

Crazy. was nearest the 1st team out of all our young midfielders, maybe nearer than any U21 player full stop. picks up an injury and in the meantime its decided he's not good enough? seems very harsh.

Agree Big Emre that it's a shame, but for Jordan and seeing what's in front of him now for first team, plus a signing in the summer no doubt, it's better for him. I'm sure he'll do well have higher hopes than Jay Spearing when he left. Shame, but glad Pedro signs on.

Why though? Rossiter is much nearer to being ready than Chirivella. ah well, good that we have so many good young mudfielders.

Why will he be leaving? Maybe a year long extension as he needs to prove his fitness. Has been injured pretty much thus entire season. Pedro looks class though and Klopp really rates him. 👍.

2/ 3/ 4 years ago, Stewart wasn't mentioned, rossiter was the highest thought of, Flanagan wasn't highly thought of, now he's a first teamer, Sinclair was rated, but his attitude has probably ended things with us. Clearly players develop at different times and in different circumstances they perform. As much as I Rositter gets another shot, its normal for players to progress less or more, albeit injury plagued, and he may not, with the names like other players have mentioned.

Rossiter's pace is the problem, and injuries have slowed him down even more.

Agree0 Disagree8

09 Mar 2016 21:41:43
Fencey, the reason Stewart wasn't mentioned 2,3 or 4 years ago is because he wasn't at the club.

Agree8 Disagree8

09 Mar 2016 21:45:19
Didn't Stewart only sign in July 2014 from the spuds.

Agree2 Disagree7

09 Mar 2016 23:24:51
2014 is two years ago right? Probably joined in the summer mind, but that was barely my point, just more than some players progress more than expected others less. I can't remember Stewart being mentioned since his signing before the Exeter games.

Rossiter has a contract offer. Its down to his agent and himself to a) sign b) try for better terms or c) leave for another club offering better terms.

Agree1 Disagree7

As much as I want Rossiter to succeed, I think his lack in physic will pull him down. Especially in his position and role.

All I have to say is hopefully they all become good and we all have good deals with them. If that's staying or going.

hi ed's hope all is well!

Any news on any outgoing emergency loans from some of our youth?

I feel a bit for kent and ward both would of still been playing regularly and improving, especially ward who at aberdeen would of been challenging celtic for the title!

{Ed001's Note - no mate, though those kind of moves tend to be very much under the radar and done very quickly as there is no need for much in the way of negotiations. I would not expect much though, as Klopp wants to watch them in training with us etc.}

09 Mar 2016 14:13:33
Admittedly they would learn more themselves playing regularly at a higher level, but klopp would learn more about them watching them train every day and play matches. From what I've heard he's big on their personality and mentality, so with them all back, he can evaluate whether they have a future and can implement things he has taught them, or things he as asked them to improve in the future.

Agree5 Disagree10

09 Mar 2016 18:06:20
I agree with both posts, its a real catch 22, tony Mowbray has already said that Coventry miss kent's blistering pace, and ward would be playing in a title chasing side, but klopp wants them where he can see them, and to be fair to klopp stewart and chirivella have been rewarded with long term deals, at least klopp knows these young guys exist which is already an improvement in how things were before he arrived.

I'm not sure if it was Ward in goal V boro U21's but he should probably have done better for a few of their goals.

Agree2 Disagree13

10 Mar 2016 08:37:44
Haha, wow. You don't know if it was him but he should probably have done better for a few of their goals?
Don't even know where to start with that ridiculous statement. So, if it was him, then he should've done better, but if it wasn't, then somebody else should've done better?
I presume you didn't actually see the game.

In fact, it was him. And of the 'few' goals that Boro scored, two actually, he did make a mistake for the 1st by coming for a cross that he should never have tried for. The second one was a penalty. So, ehh. What should he have done better? I guess he could've looked into the future and dived the other way, so you could say his powers of premonition need improving.

Meanwhile, in the real world. Ojo was outstanding in that game. Has to get a chance before the season's out.

18 year old Chidera Ejike to have a 2 week trial with Liverpool next month.

He is one of Nigeria's most sought after young attacking midfielder's attracting interest from Man City Utd Chelsea and Barca, and looks to have a bright future in the game.

To be fair to the lad - he is an unknown quantity. He may (or may not) have potential, hopefully our scouting system knows? What is sad is that as soon as the usual suspects are mentioned as being interested expectation (unfairly for the kids) goes through the roof. Also ironic that this thread is immediately below one about Jordan Rossiter - seems like half an hour ago that the 'new Steve Garrard' had a bright future.

Hi Eds,

Ox chambelane is available at 15mil, do u think Klopp will be interested?

Believable0 Unbelievable28

{Ed001's Note - no.}

09 Mar 2016 07:25:48
I hope not.

Agree11 Disagree13

09 Mar 2016 09:01:14
I hope not as well, no end product, fairly one paced and injury prone. Waste of money, let Man City lash £30m on him.

No point when we habe Ibe, Ojo, Canos, Kent etc. 🙌.

09 Mar 2016 10:41:11
Actually for 15mil i think he is worth a punt. He is only 22 yo, has bpl experience, y not? I mean we paid 25mil for markovic and loan him out?

09 Mar 2016 13:12:22
Leekuanyew. £15m as a 'punt' for a player in a position we are currently overrun in. what world you on?

let man city buy oxo cube for £30million his career has stalled his injury record is awfull and more importantly we do not need him.

Another British youngster who stunted his career growth by going to Arsenal too young. Hope the next generation of players learn.

Agree2 Disagree3

09 Mar 2016 23:08:54
There are worse clubs to go to for development than Arsenal (not least us) . In though one door and out through the loaned door about ten minutes later.

For whatever reason O-C hasn't lived up to the sensationalist hype heaped on him by the press 3 or 4 years ago. Given we are interested in a wide player apparently he may be on a list but I would think there are probalby better alternatives.
