Morning eds and reds, and what a morning it is - top of the league!

I just wanted to ask a quick question to the eds about Grujic - people have been asking about players like Harry Wilson asking if they have a future at Liverpool and I wanted to ask the same about Marko? By all accounts he's doing very well in Germany, the Hertha manager even went as far as to say he's the best midfielder they've had in the last 20 years (! ), and he plays in a position certain people have described as our weak point. I remember there were some problems with him though in terms of attitude, so was just wondering whether he was being considered for liverpool's future or this loan was more just to get him in the shop window/ out the squad to precede a permanent move away?

Thanks!

{Ed002's Note - Grujic has no future with the club and will leave I am afraid.}

Why sign a new contract then? surely minds can be changed on both sides if he continues his current form.

So he can earn more money, and Liverpool can sell him rather than go on a free.

I think grujic and his family felt let down by a lack of game time at Liverpool, that he had been promised by Klopp in an attempt to lure him from Chelsea. He never seemed to be the full package with us ran though I loved him after that header against Barca. Good luck to the lad wherever he ends up!

I believe grujic was rodgers signing. Klopp never wanted him.

Wiseryan, Grujic was Klopp's first signing.

I might be wrong but wasn't Grujic signed by Klopp due, in no small part, to Buvac's high recommendation?

We were going to sign him before Klopp came in. He could’ve pulled the plug I suppose but after he’d been scouted heavily and pursued for a while it made sense to sign him.

Its rumoured he wasnt the hardest worker at training and he certainly didn't grasp the opportunities he was given when played or on loan. Its hard to argue that he wasnt given a chance.

At 22 you're saying he can't improve enough to change Klopps mind (thats even if he was off the mind of selling him in the 1st place) . Obviously with a run of games and with the growing confidence of getting starts he's getting better and better, his current manager certainly seems to think so. At 22 he's far too young to be writing off.

Grujic was very much a Klopp signing, called him personally to convince him to sign. Definitely an error on Klopp's part, though these things happen in football. I'm sure he'll go on to have a solid career, but I doubt it'll be at Liverpool.

I watched a bit of Herthas game and he looked good and scored, I think they are unbeaten in 7 with 5 wins in the games he’s played.
