What do you guys think of bringing Suso back from Milan to replace Coutinho. The lad has been playing well, similar type of players and maybe he has a point to prove, as he never had a real opportunity to show what he could do.

Believable7 Unbelievable7

{Ed002's Note - After interest from another Premier League side this summer he signed a new contract. Liverpool has no interest and Milan don't want to sell.}

Was Tottenham the interested side, Ed002?

P. s Really appreciate all the hard work the Eds have been putting in recently.

{Ed002's Note - Yes, in the summer.}

Ante Coric I think would be the best fit if we have to replace Coutinho with a like for like.

Personally I would get a top Striker.

Before all of this however must come moves for defensive players and a chance for Ward to prove himself in goal.

There was a point in 2014/ 2015 I think where Coutinho got injured for a while, we lacked any sort of creative spark, and Suso was bang in form for the u23’s - side was crying out for a like for like replacement and he was it, but we didn’t make the move. big miss on our behalf.

It happens sometimes, no point in crying over spilt milk, like I presume Chelsea fans probably are now over Salah.

Agree3 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - There were two reasons that led to Salah leaving - I don't think the fans think about it.}

Fair enough - have no idea why he left but the point is fans always tend to moan about the one that got away rather than supporting those they currently have waiting in the wings. I’d like to see Woodburn getting a chance.

Do we hold any interest in leon Goretzka, this guy looks a ready made player for klopps system.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - No, there has been no approach made by Liverpool - although there is plenty of interest from elsewhere. Barcelona and Juventus are more likely destinations than England.}

With Emre likely to be joining Juventus and Coutinho to Barcelona you would think Goretzka would be a high priority option to replace one of them. But hey, logic is not our best suit when it comes to the transfer market.

Goretzka is a good player but I'm not sure he is what we need. He is similar to Emre Can who is being allowed to leave by Klopp for not fitting what we need.

I think Klopp will look to someone more technically gifted in my opinion. Someone in the mould of Lemar, Brandt or Meyer. Coutinho is currently used as both a wide forward and an atracking midfielder occassionally. So we need to sign a replacement who can also play both positions. Meyer is looking like the favourite based on Ed002's comments thus far. It wouldn't disappoint me at all if we went back to Rafa Silva though. History of interest from us, and he would be ideal on either wing or in an attacking midfield role with his excellent dribbling and vision.

Hi Eds
Not a MOTD reaction, and I know its been mentioned previously, but is Lanzini an option once PC jumps ship?
Thanks.

Believable3 Unbelievable5

{Ed001's Note - we have shown no interest previously.}

He is way too inconsistent to join us now IMO. Would have minded buying him if it was two years back. We are at a point in our development stage where we simply have to buy much better players than him or see all the work put over last few years go to waste. Just my opinion of course. I might be wrong.

Agree2 Disagree2

{Ed001's Note - that is why he is still at West Ham, that inconsistency.}

He's decent at best, I have never understood why some people think highly of him. I'd rather give Woodburn his chance then sign Lanzini. I know we will be looking for a replacement for Coutinho but then we are talking names like Lemar, Draxler, Meyer etc. I don't know if Meyer is an option? Lemar is probably Arsenal bound, Draxler a bit too injury prone for me.

Ed001 what do you think of Hakim Ziyech mate? From what I have seen he looks pretty damn good but not seen him tons and I don't know what he's like as a person.

Agree3 Disagree3

{Ed001's Note - I have not seen much of him either to be honest.}

I still think Insigne would be the best replacement for Coutinho.
