Are Liverpool interested in Felipe Anderson?

Believable0 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - You should try searching - it is all here, however Filipe Anderson has been watched but nothing will happen with Liverpool.}

08 Jun 2015 19:59:34
Do you think that Liverpool will buy Vietto or Lacazette?

Believable1 Unbelievable11

{Ed002's Note - No.}

08 Jun 2015 20:30:11
Ed002 do you think we will sign Kovacic or Bogdan?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I can only really tell you about interest and after that it would only be my best guess. The situation is that Liverpool could get a deal for Kovacic if they make an acceptable offer - and I don't know whether they will or not. Liverpool want Bogdan - it is up to him to consider his options and decide - so a good chance I would think.}

08 Jun 2015 22:14:00
Cheers for reply mate in answering direct questions like that. I hope we do get Kovacic. Will see what develops I suppose.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jun 2015 13:16:23
Agree I think Kovacic would be a good signing to give Hendo/Milner/Kovacic and Can as good box to box or deep lying playmaker/defensive midfielders.but leaves Allen looking a bit unnecessary. I'd still keep Lucas as a specialist defensive mid though.

Some reports in the last 5mins saying Southampton may buy back lallana for 22m

The Kovacic signing only makes sense if someone goes - although I like llallana he would be the one to make way.

Agree0 Disagree3

08 Jun 2015 18:39:25
This, makes absolutely no sense lol.

Agree2 Disagree1

08 Jun 2015 18:54:09
A joke.

Agree3 Disagree0

08 Jun 2015 18:57:54
It does because despite being on of my favorite players to watch, he was just not needed at all.

If he went and kovacic came in then that would be perfect! Unless coutinho goes then lallana is never going to get a good run in the team and ibe, Marko and sterling get the ing roles!

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jun 2015 19:20:54
A good run in the team at the number 10 role**

Agree0 Disagree1

08 Jun 2015 19:30:10
We all know Sterling is off, kovacic (if) comin will be to replace him.

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Jun 2015 22:02:07
@Maxi96, you say not needed at all and then you say if he goes and Kovacic comes in then that would be perfect.

If he was never needed then why would we need to replace him?

I'd expect this rumour is complete and utter garbage anyway. He'd want to stay to prove himself and Southampton wouldn't pay that much for him back either.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Jun 2015 09:56:21
Sure it is rubbish although Kovacic would be good , a physiacally stronger player, I cannot see us signing him either.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jun 2015 10:38:28
When you say" some reports", where are these reports from. The Beano

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jun 2015 11:19:54
If Kovacic comes, it's to replace Lucas sadly!

Kovacic is More of holding player

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jun 2015 02:31:42
In an ideal world Joe Allen would be moved on and Kovacic brought in. Lallana has lots of quality and certainly adds significant strength to our squad if not our first team - selling him after a season is pointless.

Welcome to LFC Danny Ings. He is definitely a better option than Balotelli, Borini and Lambert and will hopefully help us to achieve our targets next season. With the capture of Milner and Ings, the window is starting to look very bright.

Believable61 Unbelievable14

08 Jun 2015 10:54:20
He has to be.
Just looking at his goal numbers, he's about a 1 in 3 merchant so far.
Not bad for a young lad.
Hopefully he will get into double figures this coming year with Liverpool and that in itself will be an undeniable improvement from the season gone.

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Jun 2015 11:22:40
Looking forward to seeing him play as an inverted false wing back.

Agree6 Disagree0

08 Jun 2015 11:20:38
I will get behind him, but I'm not sure what makes him a better option than any of the above 3. Borini's scoring ratio at Roma was better and at Sunderland may have come close. Balotellis at City/Milan was better as was Lamberts. Aspas record at Celta or Seville has been decent.

My point is, Brendan Rodgers last season was notoriously poor at getting the best out of strikers that can hit double figures at smaller clubs (or in the case of Balotelli big clubs).

I fear he will not be used to full effect under Rodgers. So actually I guess my doubt lays at Rodgers feet rather than Ings. Let's hope I'm wrong!

Agree1 Disagree1

08 Jun 2015 11:31:00
Imred, he's stronger and quicker than Borini, and more mobile / hardworking than Balotelli.
So he should be a better fit for the side.
That's a start.

Agree1 Disagree1

08 Jun 2015 12:47:03
You need to look at how many of Balotelli's goals were pens before you start throwing stats around.

Agree0 Disagree1

08 Jun 2015 13:13:04
Great signing! Better than what we have. Still think we need a more experienced forward to lead the line together with Ings. Good start to the summer!

Agree3 Disagree1

08 Jun 2015 14:36:11
My point was Johnnyr, that Aspas, Balotelli, Borini, Lambert were all better strikers before they came to Liverpool and that their record at Liverpool is completely at odds with their scoring records at other clubs.

Look at the argument rather than fixating on one area.

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Jun 2015 15:22:39
I agree with you imred. I think balotelli, lambert and borini scored about 46 goals between them last season before coming back to liverpool. Unfortately the coach couldn't mould the team to their strengths.

Agree2 Disagree0

08 Jun 2015 18:55:14
I very much doubt it, Lallana suffered with injuries but we come back a better player next season as if Sterling leaves than he will step in on the left.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jun 2015 19:48:31
None of the players named above are good enough for this team if we're being honest with ourselves. Jury still out on Ings but Balotelli, Borini, Lambert and Aspas are/were a collective waste of well over £30m. Quoting their past records in different teams/countries means nothing, they have failed to do enough in the red shirt to justify a permanent place in the team.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jun 2015 20:44:16
I think that if we had had Ings at the beginning of the season we may well have achieved top 4.

He is a far better fit to our "style" of play (although I have begun to doubt what that actually is. ) than any of the current (fit) strikers.

The issue for me are (1) the reduced opportunities for Sinclair and (2) what then is the role for Origi ? There are now three strikers behind Sturridge and that is without Lambert, Aspas, Borini and Balotelli. I can't see another being brought in.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jun 2015 10:26:01
I think he's a load of crap and we should set the bar a lot higher, just my opinion

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jun 2015 10:41:42
Sinclair will go on loan for the season.

As stated, the club want a striker than can score 20 goals a season and that's not what Ings or Origi were signed for. Ings will be 1st-team squad and Origi will be given time and eased in, if we sign another striker. Sturridge can't be relied on because of injuries. Borini, Aspas & Balotelli will leave and if Lambert stays he'll be used for 17 and a half seconds at the end of games much like this season.

According to Italian papers Inter are interested in Borini, for around €8m. If true hopefully we can get a deal sorted for Kovacic.

Believable13 Unbelievable5

08 Jun 2015 08:24:12
That is probably the sort of fee we can best hope to get from selling Borini IMO.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - But it is zip to do with Kovacic.}

08 Jun 2015 09:39:59
Through funds made available from the sale?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - No. It is nothing the two players are entirely unrelated.}

08 Jun 2015 10:36:05
We won't get Kovavic. They will want a lot of money for him if they sell.

Apparently we are being linked with Spurs midfielder Nabil Bentaleb for £10 million.

Don't shoot the messenger folks, just read it on Sky Sports, so it probably isn't true. Could be the Summer of midfielders for us though. Where's the strikers at? :)

Believable6 Unbelievable18

08 Jun 2015 06:45:58
we don't use strikers anymore - just midfielders. We even invent new positions for them - such as midfield right wing-back. We are currently looking for a very deep lying midfielder to play in goal, and a midfielder with first aid training to be the physio.

08 Jun 2015 08:31:22
Lenin, I would've laughed if it wasn't true, so I'll just cry instead

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jun 2015 19:03:13
Couldn't be true could it . April 1st has well and truly been and gone.

Nabil Bentaleb for £10 million??? . apart from being an average player the bloke has a bad attitude.

07 Jun 2015 22:08:28
How do eds, do you know if we have shown interest in Fabinho of Rio alve (loaned to Monaco this season). Has looked like a decent RB. Also is there anything in this talk of Ibrahimovic for £10.9m. Seems unlikely.
Cheers

Believable1 Unbelievable6

{Ed002's Note - (a) There is no interest from Liverpool. You need the European pages for these questions. (b) Paris Saint-Germain would be more than pleased to sell Zlatan Ibrahimovic and get his vast wages off the books. Milan would be open to some sort of deal but it would require some financial issues to be resolved.}

08 Jun 2015 08:29:08
Hi Ed, I'm a Swede and as such I naturally love Zlatan along with 10 million other Swedes. What a player he is. So my question to you, do we hold any interest?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of Liverpool interest - as I have explained.}

08 Jun 2015 09:46:09
Would you be able to do us and all of Sweden a favour and make a quick call to Henry notifying him that he'd make the cost back in swedish shirt sales in about 30 mins after official signing?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - That is obviously not true either. You have an extremely naïve view of the financial aspects of the game.}

08 Jun 2015 10:08:31
New Balance will have paid us a set fee for the jerseys. The only profits we'd make on selling loads of extra jerseys would be from selling them in the club shop.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jun 2015 10:14:14
Just on that ed2, have clubs ever explored the possibility of having a shirt made and reaping the benefits themselves? Instead of payment from nb or whoever?
This question is really badly put, but you catch my thinking.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - At lower tiers clubs buy catalogue-available shirts adding club badges and sponsor names - and then sell them to the supporters and make a small profit. At the highest level, clubs want the income, in some cases significant income, from shirt manufacturers. Clubs like Liverpool etc. would never generate anything close to a similar return. They don't have the infrastructure, the outlets, the manufacturing capability, etc., etc..

However, if the football doesn't improve perhaps there is a future in the tacky clothing business.}
