Hi Eds,
I really feel sorry for you answering Moreno questions all day. the situation is clear: when we stump up the extra 2-3 mill we will sign him.
Id like to know what you think of our 'interest' and chances of signing lazar Markovic (used the search function and can't find any of your replies on him since mid-may)- I think he would be a brilliant signing (and cheaper than Lallana, who by the way is over-priced and over-rated having only had one good season at the top level at the age of 26). Also i'm assuming its one of shaqiri or markovic (if the interest in both is genuine) as I think both are top class players?

thank eds, as ever, looking forward to your sarcasm for the rest of the summer!

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure why you think Markovic would be cheaper than Lallana, but right now I don't see him signing for Liverpool. Chelsea would rather leave him where he is for now but if pushed will need to decide about taking him this year or not.}

Lallana is a damm good footballer and would be a great addition.

Lallana is 26 has only played 2 years of his career at the top level and he was only impressive this season. He has played at a side were he is the main man and has the allowance to roam- this would not be given to him at anfield where he would have to fit a system. Yes for 10 million, he would be well worth the risk and a good signing- for 3 times that there are many better players out there who are far more proven within a top quality side in the champions league (baring in mind Chelsea will be paying less than £0mill for fabregas- a far better player than lallana)

Agree3 Disagree2

Not sure he is a far better player than lallana currently at all? And it is not all about getting the better player is it but rather the players who suit the style of football a team want to play.
Lallana I agree IMO is not worth £30 million but he is an excellent player and worth a lot I would think

Heard we launched a £15m bid for Xherdan Shaqiri. Do you see this going through?

Believable59 Unbelievable24

Shaqiri has said he will be staying at bayern.
Think the club will wait till England get knockout of the WC and see what they can do with lallana, if its a no go I think we'll go back in for shaqiri.

Agree0 Disagree2

Those quotes from Shaqiri were about two weeks ago.

THe quotes were from and nervier with kids in Switzerland before the champions league final.

Hi eds do Liverpool hold an interest in Andre Ayew?

Believable31 Unbelievable6

{Ed001's Note - yes.}

08 Jun 2014 16:13:33
Cheers for the answer. What's the situation with his club?

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - that would be a question best directed to Ed002.}

Is he a winger Ed or a striker?

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - I have seen him play both positions, but I believe he is better suited to the wing, from what I have seen. He seems much happier on the left.}

I hope your wrong ed001 this lad just isn good enough imo this lad is no better than any of first 11 we have and imo will bring as much as moses brought last year, I know we need 1 r 2 squad players to fill the ranks especially if lads are leaving, but we need to bring in top quality to push us on next year and give us a good run in champs lge and another shot at the title, early days I suppose so I guess we will have to see come end of transfer window?

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - being interested doesn't mean we will bid or that he will sign mate. I wouldn't get worried just yet, he certainly doesn't seem to be among our top targets.}

Ayew is a very good player maybe not what we need for the starting 11 but its no secret we need better players to fill in if our stars are injured.
Not a bad back up atall.

Hi Ed 2
I saw a few days ago u said there shouldn't be anything stopping the Moreno deal going through, is that still your opinion? Seems its taking a while to be completed.

Believable16 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - The time is of no relevance - Liverpool need to sort out the money and the payment terms and a deal can be done.}

08 Jun 2014 14:09:00
Eds

Do we still maintain interest in Hector Moreno or Caulker at centre back slot please?

Believable8 Unbelievable12

{Ed002's Note - Moreno is attracting a lot of interest from elsewhere now including Manchester United, but Liverpool's interest seems to have waned. I can't really help here, the only confirmation I have regarding Caulker is that Southampton were showing an interest - presumably as a replacement for Lovren who is interesting others including Spurs, Roma and Liverpool.}

Sevilla have stated again that Liverpool have yet to make an acceptable offer for Moreno.

Hi eds

Annoyed my last post didn't get up but I understand that you don't like people talking about money.

Has anyone showed any interest (recently) in Matt Ryan, the young Australian 'keeper? I've only watched him a few times but every time I do his kicking blows me away.

Thanks

Believable1 Unbelievable8

{Ed002's Note - Your last post was about Cancelo 6 days ago and I recall answering it. I am not aware of any real interest in Mat Ryan but I am aware that Brugge are very pleased with him.}

Ah ok. Thanks ed- I tried to upload a post this morning about Suarez this morning but it was probably a problem with my internet or something like that.

Agree0 Disagree2

If you want a keeper who is good with his feet then Ryan would be a great choice. A great all round keeper in my opinion. I watched him a heap of times in the A League. I wondered how he would go in Europe and by all reports, he has done outstandingly well.

ed is isco for sale this summer not playing much any teams looking at him thanks

Believable4 Unbelievable8

{Ed002's Note - If Real Madrid were to make Isco available he would be priced at a level where all but a handful of teams could afford him. Real Madrid were recently discussing another player with Chelsea and I am sure he would have been mentioned if they were looking to move him on. There was interest from Manchester City and Bayern Munich in the past, but right now I am not aware of any interest.}

Hi eds,

I was just reading bbc gossip column and one report was that we are close to securing Shaqiri. Even though it is a gossip column is there any truth to this and are Liverpool preparing a bid? Also what's the situation on romelu lukaku? is he going to be leaving chelsea and if so do we have any chance or interest?
Thanks in advance

Believable2 Unbelievable11

{Ed002's Note - There is interest in Shaqiri - as gets mentioned every few minutes. Whilst efforts are being made to save Lukaku's career with Chelsea after he upset the club, there is interest from a number of sides including Juventus, Borussia Dortmund, Atletico Madrid, Newcastle, Roma and Spurs. Shakhtar, Zenit and Everton are interested but probably not options. I suspect the Borussia Dortmund interest has gone. Liverpool has shown no interest to date.}

08 Jun 2014 11:52:13
Hi eds is Shaqiri a player Munich are desperate to get rid or is he pushing for a move? Just some quotes from Shaqiri himself said he is staying at Munich I know we shouldn't always listen to players but who is the one trying to engineer the move?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Munich will be more than happy to sell him but may want to wait until a replacement can be found as it looks likely they will be losing Thomas Muller as well.}

08 Jun 2014 10:03:54
I did say initially, We would be struggling to offload most of our players.
Napoli are reluctant to strike a deal for Reina.
Cant imagine how are going to do with others.

Believable1 Unbelievable8

{Ed002's Note - Napoli are currently in talks with another club regarding a replacement for Reina.}

08 Jun 2014 10:34:24
Ed002

Do Arsenal still hold an interest in Reina and if not who does other than Napoli?

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed002's Note - No, Arsenal are actively working to bring a GK in and it is not Reina. There is no interest from elsewhere that I am aware of at the moment.}

This is because Liverpool value reina higher than napoli do just like the lallana situation with Southampton, it seems we are looking elsewhere. I'd love to see pepe in the Liverpool team next season he'd go some way to organising our defence. Would Andy Carroll have tried to knock the ball out of Pepe's hands?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - It is not as simple as that, but Napoli are in discussions to bring someone else in.}

Simple
If we can't sell him keep him. He can offer competition to Mignolet.

Agree2 Disagree0

Seem's to me when we try to sell clubs want are players for peanuts, but when we buy its top price's to be payed, in lfc I trust

Agree2 Disagree1

Not quite as simple as that Philistine. I really think we can afford to only keep one, if we're going to buy more players.

Agree1 Disagree1

Do you foresee Reina staying at Liverpool next season then, ed? Liverpool obviously want rid of him due to wages + age and burning bridges at the club with his infamous goodbye letter, but if no one is willing to take him then we surely have no option but to keep him (short of terminating his contract obviously). Or do you know if want shot of him so much that we'll drop our asking price until someone takes him? I suppose I mean is the desire to plainly get rid of him and any money made from his sale is a bonus?
We seem to dropped any desire to replace Mignolet so maybe we're preparing to keep Reina, albeit reluctantly?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - I really don't know what will happen Rory.}
